We've been visiting Birches Restaurant for years, sometimes to celebrate special occasions or milestones or just for a quick bite to eat or coffee on our way home. Either way we are always welcomed warmly, seated and attended to quickly by Birches lovely waitstaff. To me the food is something very special. It is always abundant, inventive and delicious. Birches restaurant is in an old Queenslander perched on the curve of the road at Mt Mee. In the summer it is nice to enjoy a meal on the veranda overlooking the Sunshine coast with views to the bay. In the winter you can get cosy by the fire place inside. It is well worth the scenic drive up the mountain even if it is just for the coffee.
Food was sensational and decent sized portions for the price. Would definitely recommend and be visiting again. Staff were really lovely also!
Good service and great location. Food was okay eggs benedict done great - great thicc ham yea boi and my partner enjoyed the big breakfast. However I don't see anything really unique about this place for breakfast. Nice fire place. Pricey tho worth it bc it's kinda fancy--no regrets.
Called in while on a Sunday drive. No booking but made to feel welcome. Enjoyed a light meal today, hubby had the soup special. Asian pumpkin and prawn and I had the peppered calamari. Absolutely delightful! Looking forward to going back and sampling other menu delights
Delightful dinner, great service unfortunately had to share my dessert! Just a beautiful place to be with special people. Lemon Myrtle Panna Cotta was to die for.
Our first dinner at Birches restaurant since the restaurant has changed hands. We could not fault it. The food was absolutely beautiful, the service spot on and the host Lynn was so warm and welcoming. We look forward to dining again very soon.
Delicious food and scenic drive. Just returned from an unplanned trip to Birches. Driving along Mt Mee, we came upon this restaurant. No booking but was welcome at 1.50 pm. The ambiance is 10 out of 10 and the food absolutely delicious.
I had the Smoken Salmon, salad, wonton and capers stack and my husband had the Chicken Boscalli Fettuccine.
Must return soon.
Wow what a breath of fresh air the new owners have brought with them. Finally a new menu and it's a great menu at that.
Lots of favourite things still around.
Great service and great food.
Things are looking up on the mountain.
Everytime we come here we love it and Sunday lunch was no exception. I finally tried something different (love the reef and beef) in the barramundi and my husband had the lamb rack, both delicious. Our daughter was made very welcome and they have a good variety of kids meals. We had the cake of the day for dessert ( lemon baked cheesecake) and it too was great. The sticky date puddding I've had here previously is exceptional! Don't be put off by the upmarket reviews, its excellent food, friendly staff and in a lovely location. The mains did take awhile to come out but sitting on the deck with breezes and wine we were happy to wait.
Brilliant chef producing consistent top quality meals at very reasonable prices.
Well worth the drive to Mt. Mee
What a gem!. On a perfect Sunday Autumn's day we visited Birches Restaurant for lunch. Lucky we booked as there was a sign out the front saying that only people with bookings could be seated. The restaurant was full and prompt service had us sitting at our table out the front, overlooking the road and the scenic view beyond. The food was to die for! Moreton Bay Bug tart for entree and chef's special reef & beef for main & sticky date pudding for desert will be a meal I will remember forever. Servings were a generous size and cooked to perfection. Service was also great though I did overhear the people at the table next to us complaining about the time it took for them to get their mains. The only small downside was the takeaway coffee's we got when leaving (to enjoy the view at the lookout) - they were very bitter and burnt.
We came for breakfast, yum! Bacon with grill marks, creamy scrambeled eggs and roasted roma tomatoes. Loved it.
Briches Restaurant. I have dinned at Birches many times and have never been disappointed. I usually order a steak or fish dish which they always cook perfectly and present tastefully. The desserts have always been perfect and are also presented well.
I recommend a romantic meal here in the middle of winter, when they have the fire heater burning in the middle of the dinning floor and everything is glowing by this & candle light. Drinks aren't the best priced but it makes up for it with a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful setting.
Beautiful location and awesome food. What more do you need?
Outstanding food and ambience, service is exceptional. The ass end of nowhere though so be prepared for a decent drive.
