This is the best viet food going round. Really great prices and insanely yum! Super generous servings too. And they always go that extra mile to be super cute, whether it’s a free drink, ice cream or a lolly, they are so friendly and awesome! Love. This. Place!!!

This is the best restaurant in melbourne or dare I say the world! I hope one day they get award a Michelin Star as they really deserve it. The food is so good that my mouth is watering just thinking about smell and taste of the food whilst I’m writing this review. I know people that travel from the States just to come to this restaurant and I can see why. Trust me, this restaurant is a must try and must be on your bucket list of things to do in life. If you want to feel like what heaven feels like, try their food. Don’t get my started on how good the service is and how they have thought of every little things. At first I thought the reviews were fake however once you experienced it yourself, you’ll understand why they get such a high rating.

Things I love about this restaurant are the vibe, their generous amount of food and flavourful dishes.
Ordered a Pho Bo (Beef), Chicken Laksa, Singapore Noodles and Lemongrass Pork Vermicelli with spring rolls. Their noodle soups were on the spot! Both the pho and laksa stock were packed with flavours and perfectly balanced. The nuoc chum sauce elevated the vermicelli to a whole new level. Absolutely in love with the freshness of this dish. The Singapore noodles wasn’t bad but appeared to be pale in comparison.
Will definitely comeback next time!
One of the best restaurants in the area. The host was very attentive and kind. We felt like home and very welcomed. Food are great. Love the crispy chicken with tomato rice, pho and chicken ribs!
A great place to take the family to lunch and dinner or get a take away. They are always generous to their customers, provide excellent service and friendly no matter how busy they get. Even now during this trying time they still provide the same level of service and deliciousness in their food.
I highly recommend that if you're feeling peckish for Vietnamese food or just feeling hungry in general to visit the Proud Peacock you will definitely not regret it. My family and I never did. They're a favourite since I first step inside their restaurant when they were in Glen Waverley all those years ago.

Authentic and delicious Vietnamese food, very reasonable prices and good service! Proud Peacock does not take bookings and at times you may find yourself waiting to be seated but its never for too long and the wait is worth it. This place has every reason to be proud and I recommend it highly.

The team at Proud Peacock have always been incredibly hospitable and friendly! The venue is great, so welcoming, and filled with touches like board games, drink and dessert stations, sauces, etc that make dining here so great. The service is always outstanding - once my friend ordered the special chicken pho without kmowing the ingredients, and the waitress, knowing we would not like it, quietly told the chefs to change the order without bothering us! The food is always so delicious, in massive portions also, and I always leave feeling so satisfied. Definitely a staple!

Surprisingly excellent. Very good Vietnamese food, very fresh and well prepared. Possibly the best in Melbourne. Good service, welcoming place and BYO a bonus (wune only $6 per bottle). I will certainly return and I can warmly recommend it.

Quite a busy joint it seems and therefore quite noisy, arrive early to avoid queues. Staff were visibly busy dashing around the joint. I found it hard to get the staff's attention to put order in and also it took ages to get someone to bring us the signature coconut pandan chiffon fried ive-cream we ordered at the beginning. Was going to leave without it but glad we waited because it was a pleasant dessert. Although the place is nicely decorated, the service alone won't have me returning. The pho was tasty and quantity was decent but maybe because i live near Springvale and have access to good Pho at more competitive prices, personally i don't think i would make the extra trip out this way.
Even through we had to wait 20 mins to open the store...it as worth it. Excellent spring rolls and pho was to die . service was very polite.. definately dinner after our school classes

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What can I say.... this place is fantastic! Lovely ambience, modern interior design, fun and friendly atmosphere... and the DRINKS... not only were the cocktails utterly delicious and generous, the complimentary drinks bar was such a nice touch! There’s even card games available, and when you get an icy pole after the meal, you know you’ll be coming back. LOVED IT!

Absolutely loved my visit here! We ordered a few different things on the menu and were not disappointed by a single one! The spring rolls were crisp and flavorful while the spicy chicken ribs were out of this world - just the right amount of spice, salt and crunch👌🏼 also enjoyed the pad Thai and char kwe teao! Would definitely go back again

Amazing gem of a place! The service was great, everyone was so nice. The food took a bit of time to come out but to be fair it was crazy busy and it wasn’t a horrible amount of time. My friends had the pho which they loved and I had the chicken laksa which we all couldn’t get enough of. Huge proportions so we were super full by the end of the night, didn’t stop us from finishing off our laska/phos though! Some great free drinks and sweets were provided too, nice touch. At the end of the night they even gave us free ice cream. Why? “Because today it was such a nice day outside after a week of rain!” What a perfect end to a perfect meal. We’ll be back.

Basically my girlfriend and I' go to place when we're craving Vietnamese. The food is delicious, never had a disappointing meal or visit, it's always been a pleasant time dinning. The staff are very friendly and always make sure you're well looked after. Recommend highly.
Very busy, we were lucky to get a seat. Staff were efficient and friendly. There was a bit of a wait for the food. Portions were big, best to share. The food tended to be on the salty side. Will be back again to try more.

Proud Peacock not only has amazing food - hands down, best broke rice - but the people there are amazing. Very wholesome Vietnamese restaurant that may seem a little pricey, but it's offset but the warm welcome/service plus a variety of self serve drinks and a candy bar!
We waited around 15 mins after arriving around 6:30pm. June was very accommodating and seated us as soon as they could.
Get there early because it's likely to be a bit of a wait given their popularity. Well worth it though!

I was brought to this restaurant because of the Zomato Gold and was curious about how it works. Not only that I was happy that I received a 2nd meal for free but their combination broken rice is one of the best in Melbourne! Would totally visit again!
Their special broken rice is awesome! 😍 Generous amount of pork chop and it’s so good. Used my Zomato Gold here so also got 1 dish for free.
On the other side, there is a bit of a wait to the orders but the staff were okay. 👍🏻

Vegan Bun: Huge serving size & super yummy! I loved the crunch of the the spring rolls.
The staff are incredible here. The owner is so generous with handing out free treats, upsizing orders & just being so friendly. The waiter who was looking after my table wasn’t afraid to crack a joke which was a lot of fun!

This place is a must try! Despite lining up for 20 min on a Saturday night, this local Vietnamese restaurant is a gem ❤️. All meals had generous portions of meat and vegetables and were full of flavour. We absolutely loved the avocado smoothie - a must have!!

Came here last night with two others. As soon as we approached the restaurant there was a big queue out the door. To me it was a clear indicator of when you know a restaurant is worth dining at and waiting for. After around 10 minutes which seemed to fly by, we were seated. The wait staff were friendly and attentive whilst we pondered to confirm our order. We were given a menu and paper to write our order as we waited in the queue which was a great move as this made the ordering process quicker. We ended up ordering a beef pho pad Thai chicken, salt and pepper squid and a grilled lemongrass chicken vermicelli. The beef pho was really delicious and hit the spot. The salt and pepper squid was amazingly soft and just the right amount of seasoning. The pad Thai chicken was really delicious and lemongrass chicken was just as delicious. When the food arrived all I can say is WOW! Such amazing dishes so full of flavors and so incredibly tasty.

Snow fell in Mount Waverley last night when I stopped by for a warm meal. A tad early at 5pm but I was not disappointed. Front-house dynamite June welcomed me in despite the usual 5.30 dinner opening hours. I was promptly seated with a warm welcome drink. Wonderful! The place quickly started to fill up - a good sign. While pho or other soupy meals would have been an obvious choice, given the icy weather, I chose the Lemongrass Beef with Rice. Beefy and bang on flavour, it comes with a bowl of flavoursome warming soup. Very thankful for the warm and attentive hospitality. Will be back.
Ordered take away from the Proud Peacock for the first time & the food was absolutely delicious! The portions were huge, the veggies super fresh & the flavours were amazing - I couldn’t be happier! Service was great & the staff were super friendly. Will definitely be coming back :)

My husband has always been a fan of this place and it took me a while to get used to. Once you are hooked you can’t stop. We love the proud peacock not only for their food and ambiance but the wonderful service we get every time. June is very generous and she ensures to load you with extras every time you get a takeaway. We are regulars here and when we decide to eat out and stay close to home, this is the first place that jumps into our mind. The food has never been a let down be it take away or dine in. Netflix, Pho and Laksa for dinner tonight!!
