Located at Pine shopping centre, this cafe from its modest entrance does not give a clue of the vast seating area it has with simple yet modern decor. I would advise for a booking- we just got lucky to get a seat.
We had a mix of lunch, brunch and breakfast plates. We had eggs benedict, English breakfast with Toast, chicken nuggets and chips, Chorizo mushrooms pasta, Chocolate shake. Neatly done, well presented all dishes were presented without waiting too long. The pasta was the best, eggs benedict was good- possibly some parsley sprinkled woud hve helped.

We went to 57 Cafe Bar Restaurant for the Xmas party. Everyone was surprised the food they offered was so nice. I must admit they have the best pasta dishes ever.
The club sandwich was great but I think an egg would be even tastier. The dish came with really crispy wedges.
We also grabbed the spinach ricotta tortellini which was great!!
The staff were reasonably friendly, sometimes a bit deadpan and standing around chatting. Ask us how our meal was. Clean the frosted windows that customers were wiping with their hands. Remove plates when customers had finished. (Took one plate, not two)

Popped past here with my family and I must say, overall experience was fantastic! The service was great, patient with our indecisiveness đ and even though I didnât have crazy expectations, the menu was surprisingly awesome! Not your standard boring stuff. I would have liked for my dish to be a little bigger, other than that, utter perfection!
Went here for a quick lunch and was treated to a beautiful seafood linguini! Perfectly cooked but was hoping for a little more seafood. Quick service and very friendly staff which is always a big bonus! Thanks heaps guys!
Ordered the Greek style lamb cutlets. The lamb beautifully marinated. The tzatziki was tangy and the salad was fresh. I felt that pita bread was overly toasted and dry. The vanilla slice was delicious.
The most delicious Iced Coffee I have ever had in Melbourne. Coffee was good in aroma, with its sweet ice cream created a perfectly balanced harmony of drinks. Finished it completely even though I was already full.
Prawn salad was good. Fresh and plump tiger prawns with a bed of tasty garlic sauce.

57 Cafe Bar Restaurant is doing really well for the right reasons.
Location- Located in the heart of pinewood, 57 is super easy to spot. The place is really spacious and has a great vibe.
Service- not very talkative staff. They give you the space and time needed and the service is very quick.
Drinks- only went for a quick coffee, I regret not having some cake with it.
Ordered an iced coffee and one flat white. Both these coffees were well priced. The iced coffee was great. I even loved the serving and the presentation.
The flat white was amazing too. However, I think serving coffee without coffee art is a bit weird. It shows lack of effort and is very unappealing.
A stand out cafe / restaurant! Whether itâs breakfast, lunch or dinner you wonât be disappointed. I have to admit I am a regular here. After being interstate there is nothing like coming home to a guaranteed good meal.
Would highly recommend the âshredâ for breakfast or the Moroccan beef salad for lunch.

We had beef steak, salmon and avocado salad, carbonara and peanuts tarot. All foods is fantastic!!! That all had detail. Chips were good crunchy and I love that.

Stopped in here for cake and tea last weekend. I enjoyed one of the lemon poppyseed cakes and a pot of tea. The wait staff were friendly and the service quick. The pot of tea came with a tea bag which to be honest, I was little disappointed by. I like to have loose leaf tea when I'm out - because I never have it at home (probably a little fussy of me.) It's a nice place to meet friends for a bite to eat and have a drink in a relaxed atmosphere. I will be going here again in the future.
A good place to have brunches and working lunches here. Sometimes My dog comes with me have a coffee outside, staff will provide a dog water owl for him, that's very nice. Food is okay, environment is not bad in that area.
By looking from the outside, it's like ordinary cafe for brekkie and brunch or afternoon tea. Actually there's quite a few tables inside and they do serve dinner as well. It's easy to miss this hidden gem.
4 of us walked in and was led to a table inside, which was quieter and had a totally different but nicer dining environment.
They serve good European cuisine too.

Food and service are always good at Cafe 57, and the menu is diverse and has something for everyone. The restaurant itself is quite loud, so it can be hard to hold a conversation. Prices are quite high, but the quality is good. My favourites are the prawn linguine and Peking duck risotto.
I always come here for their pasta - tasty and generous portion. My favorite is the pumpkin gnocchi if i feel like having vegetarian. I just tried the salt and pepper calamari. Taste good.
Service is quick and staff are friendly. However, it would be nice if they can refill water from time to time without having to ask them to do so.

This is a good place for lunch as the menu has a lot of variety with Turkish rolls, wraps, salads, pasta and risotto as well as pricier mains. I heartily recommend the Salmon Surprise wrap and the Chicken Pesto Turkish roll. It's a bit noisy but full of happy diners!
A lovely pet friendly cafe, well priced with a fantastic vegetarian selection. Coffee was good at $3.80. Breakfast or lunch options available at midday. We opted for Chicken pesto turkish and When in Rome eggs. Both delicious. Service was attentive and water provided for our little dog. We look forward to sampling more of the menu and perhaps increasing the rating based on consistently good food.
If you want to have a nice breakfast on weekends in s.e suburbs, this cafe would be one your stops where you can find a divers delicious menu, but a bit pricy.
One of the restaurant we frequent regularly, not just because it is close by but the quality is always consistent, good and the food (though the menu never change) very tasty. We had the Turkish bread with 3 dips, warm fluffy Turkish bread, most failed even to do that but not in this place. The spinach dip is awesome! My partner has the salmon penne pasta and I had the rib eyes, my favourite, yum. We saw the special tonight, baked chicken with chorizo paella, hmm, should have ordered that too...
It's my first time to be here, the meal comes very fast with a big portion. Coffee tastes nice too.

This cafe is nicely decorated and the service is wonderful. The poached eggs are yummy though I order potato Rosti and their potato Rosti is just normal hash brown. But overall the food is delish, will definitely go back there again

My chef's burger was substantial and tasty. Yum. I could only manage to finish half of it (and the Lawyer was more than happy to help finish the rest). The burger patty was finely minced (not a speckle of gristle) and was mixed with breadcrumbs. I didn't mind this as it was done really nicely. The patty was flavoursome and moist. I also loved the crispy bacon and the fresh salad ingredients. The chips were crisp and came with a good quality aioli. All up, it was simple but really well made.

We had a group of 16 girls and the service here was great. Everything came out relatively quick and all the meals were delicious. I have the salt and pepper calamari and it was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back to try more on the menu!

I thought I'd try out 57 Cafe Bar Restaurant on a Saturday night after an evening at the local cinema. I went with my girlfriend for dinner and we were lucky to get a seat without calling ahead. It is always a good sign when it is difficult to get a table! We sat outside in a fully heated area that did not actually feel like it was outside. It is a nice, cosy and intimate space with cushions, good background music and the perfect amount of dim lighting.Â
We had multiple waitresses serve us and they were all excellent. We were poured a glass of water each as soon as we arrived which is something I wish would happen at every restaurant I go to! The staff were friendly and attentive yet were not over bearing.Â
We ordered an entree of Bruschetta which was hand down the best I have ever experienced! My girlfriend is vegetarian and there were plenty of vegetarian friendly options which is always a plus. We ordered a chicken parmigiana and some kind of vegetarian past (I can't quite remember) respectively. This is where unfortunately I need to be critical. Although my chips were delicious, I was unable to finish my chicken parmigiana. It simply did not taste great. The pasta dish was apparently quite average as well which was a bit of a downer. Basically, everything was great apart from our main courses, which should be one of the main positives.Â
I would highly recommend 57 Cafe bar restaurant, but only when used for cafe purposes! It has a great atmosphere and friendly service, although I wouldn't order anything food related other than a snack or appetizer. Oh, and I would highly recommend the banana milkshake, yum!

The food is so fresh. Had the salmon salad. Such great, friendly service and the portions are very generous. Excellent variety and has a very modern, relaxed dining area. Really recommend this place.
Zubin and Chandini are regulars here. I came here with some of the lads for coffee and enjoyed my time. The latte and cappuccino were fantastic. It's in Pinewood, so it's not best atmosphere, rather quite. Would definitely come again!
Great Service. Went for coffee and lunch earlier today, my friend enjoyed her sandwich and my coffee was of a high standard. Service was fast and friendly, my friend spilled her drink halfway through lunch and the waiter promptly not only cleaned it up but also bought her a new drink without even asking! Little things like that really make a difference will definitely be returning, keep up the good work!
A winning recipe. Honestly my favourite cafe south of the city! The food is always delicious and good value for money. Staff are super friendly and attentive. But my number 1 reason for loving this place is their coffee.... Best one I've tasted in Melbourne! 100% recommend the big breakfast too... It's huge!

I'll eat here when I have plenty of time. I have been to this place on a number of occasions and the waiting time for my food to arrive always depended on the type of day it was. I had waited nearly more than 45 mins to get my food and this was on one of their bad days. Inexperienced staff and busy queues of people waiting can change the typical day. Good for those with plenty of time and if you don't have time to spare there are plenty of restaurants close by. Food is always decent for price and the atmosphere is always full of chatter that even awkward conversations and silence can seem non-existent.
Great anytime!. Have been to 57 for breakfast, lunch and just for coffee and cake in the past. Always enjoyed the food, atmosphere and the friendly staff and good service. This time went for dinner and had a yummy pasta. My husband enjoyed a Parma with great chips. The waitresses were very efficient and friendly. This is a busy place that's great for any occasion.

Would eat here again.. Myself and 3 other friends came to 57 cafe for dinner. There wasn't room in the main dining area so we were seated next to the bar and kitchen. The staff that served us were really good, contrary to the other reviews, we must have been lucky. The food was good but the deserts are what you should really come here for. I would (not will) come here again because the service was good and even though they were full they did find a place for us to sit down.

Today a large group of us came in to celebrate a Baby Shower for brunch. The staff at Cafe 57 were next level amazing! A seperate area for us, all orders of coffee and food were perfect! The atmosphere was excellent. The coffee was hot, fresh and delicious! The food catered to each persons personal needs including dietary requirements.
This was one of the best Melbourne Breakfast Experiences I have had in a long time , I will be recommending to all my family and friends!

Just had a coffee today, but it was one the best flat white Iâve ever had, good amount of coffee and temperature was excellent, second time I had spinach feta spanakopita which was great đ
From the minute you walk into this hidden, local gem you feel welcomed. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable and service warm and friendly. I only had coffee on this occasion but it was delivered exactly as ordered.
The place was fairly busy but not noisy. The food looked amazing and I can't wait to return to try it.
Friendly and officiant staff, great food , excellent coffee and cakes. My calamari, which are so easy to overcook, were very tender and delicious. It can get a bit noisy, but it is just another indicator how popular this place is, and justly so.
