Review Siam Village Thai Restaurant - Mount Waverley

Jo Ee Lee
Ordered the massaman red curry and Thai Green Curry with rice. Excellent flavour and the sauce was the X Factor. Nice and simple. Perfect lunch meal for a cold winter day. Only negative is lack of drinks options. Only water was available. No tea or anything else was available

The service is always amazing. Nuc is the best!! Had the pleasure of meeting the owner and she is an absolute delight as well. Now the important part, the food; it’s great!! It is always prepared fresh and has the perfect balance of flavour and spice.

Ordered some take out delivery and it took an hour and 15 mins and eventually when I got my food it was cold. Called to find out where my order was and spoke to owner who just said my food was just sitting there waiting for a driver to collect it but didn’t know when they’ll come and didn’t have any care whatsoever. He was rude and have no customer service. Never, never will I order from Siam Village. Save yourself the trouble!! Order elsewhere!!! Clearly having a low star rating explains it.

Quiet midweek, so meals came in timely manner. All our usual orders - entrees X 3, and mains X 3 - for six, were delicious. Roti also nice. Nice table settings. Will go back.

The taste of pork BBQ is fine but the texture of the meat is tough. The fried noodle and the yellow curry is great. A restaurant worth to come again.

We love Siam Village. Good service and the food is always delicious.. definitely one of our favourite restaurants.

No flavour, no taste. Worst Thai food in Melbourne. Aussified Thai. Bland n insipid. Not cheap either
Aditya
All the dishes on the menu are good specially pad thai and pad krapow This is my go to place for thai lunches during office hours.

Ordered a takeaway vegetarian Thai curry, Pineapple fried rice and Pad See Ew.<br/><br/>Got a Chicken Green curry despite having mentioned vegetarian and re affirming it is vegetarian.<br/><br/>But, they did send me free delivery of replacement vegetarian Thai curry in 45 mins(our dinner was long over).<br/><br/>Pineapple fried rice was delicious. Rest all were average. 3* is only for food. Not for the experience.

If you have any dietary restrictions I recommend not going here. I asked for one change and when it came out wrong I politely asked if I could get it fixed or refund as I’m allergic, just to be yelled at by the owner and told not to come here if I have dietary restrictions. I work in hospo and couldn’t believe the way I was spoken to/ yelled at in this way, Personally will not be returning

I was shouted at and abused by the owner for being too picky and got told to go to McDonald’s and cook myself. I have food allergies and simply requested two ingredients be removed. The waitress said this was fine. I was shouted at and embarrassed in front of everyone after they stuffed up my order twice. I also got the wrong rice. I would not recommend this abusive restaurant. Poor customer service and threats from the owner. I’ll be reporting this abusive Behaviour. Portions are expensive and small.
Rishav Chakraborty
-Rudest owner<br/>- No value for money<br/>- Smallest portion<br/>- Started abusing in Thai<br/>- Tried to ask me to pay and leave without eating <br/>She said “pay and go” after not getting my food

Went to this place for lunch enticed by the great value. I went for a Cashew Chicken. Not amazing in flavors, solid. Volume was more than generous for lunch. Restaurant aesthetics and fit out was pretty basic and typical of a lot of Asian restaurants. Will not ring home about this place, a solid pass

Extremely rude owner. Got seated at 6:30pm, with the waitress telling us that we needed to leave by 7:30pm as there was a booking. We agreed and food arrived at our table. At 6:45pm, an angry woman came to our table, telling us that we needed to empty our seats for the 7:30pm booking. We told her there’s still 45 minutes till 7:30 and there were still many empty seats left. She got angry, yelled that she was the owner of the restaurant and said we needed to leave.. the poor waitress had to apologise instead. Didn’t get to try the food properly but was quite greasy. Shocking customer service, will probably never come back here again!

The owner has very rude attitude. I never have this horrible experience with any other restaurants in Melbourne. She does not know what the restaurant business is about. Please do not face with the owner there.

Ordered delivery from here a few times. First time it came spilt in the bag, the other time was fine and today I got two curries full of oil. Rude customer service too. Please avoid

Staffs were polite. Nice ambience. Tried their Tom yam soup, green curry and pad Thai. Everything came pretty fast didn't have to wait for a long time. All the food are a bit too sweet to our liking. The pad Thai was too sweet and oily. <br/>

We have ordered from Siam Village over the years but from 2018 it has been terrible.<br/><br/>In March a massaman curry turned out to be floating pieces of beef and potato in curry colored water that was returned for a full refund.<br/><br/>Today part of our order included two pad khee maos that had no chilli and no basil. It tasted exactly like a pad see ew which I spoke to the manager about.<br/><br/>No refund was sought as due to the time we were so hungry that we had to eat it, but upon telling the manager about the mix up and questioning whether the chef had changed this year, I was told yes but she served five star food, that I didn't need to order from them and that she was really busy after which she hung up.<br/><br/>NEVER AGAIN!

I won’t be coming back here after 2 poor experiences - the first; I dined in with my family and all of our meals came at seperate times, by the time one of us had finished our dish the next persons would arrive. We gave up waiting for them all to come at the same time as the food was going cold. The second experience - take away; the panang curry had hardly any flavour and the vegetables were over cooked and soggy, I think there was maybe one piece of broccoli. It was disgusting... do not order the Panang curry !!<br/>The coke was also delivered warm. Massive fail. If you want an easy dining and good food don’t come here.

Nice ambience. Their prices aren't the cheapest around, although their lunch deals are quite affordable. Unfortunately my vegetarian Pad Thai lacked flavour and ingredients. The peanuts tasted a little stale and the noodles were all stuck together and plain. Quite unimpressed. Perhaps it was an off day today as previously, I have heard others have good experiences.

I ordered take away from this restaurant and is extremely disappointed with their execution of the dishes. Their proportions are a joke. <br/>A $22 dried chilli and cashews prawn only serve 5 prawns. <br/>A $18 dollar green curry beef have less than 10 pieces of meat. <br/>My partner and I have to fish around for protein in our dishes. They are all filled up with onions and capsicum. <br/>Never are we going to try this place again.
Sangeetha.ramani
A couple of friends chose this place for our anniversary dinner! Nice ambience, a bit noisy so doesn't call for real fine-dining.<br/>I ordered the Vegetarian Pad Krapao and also got to taste some other stir fry dishes as well. The food was great and this one specifically was the best dish we had that evening! The taste of chilly, soy and basil along with the crunchiness of cashew made it a great choice with the vegetables and rice! <br/>Highly recommended for some good veg options!<br/>

Ordered takeaway the food is wonderful but once again delivery late and they missed something out of our order. Think we need to find somewhere else to order from 😠

There with family and must say disappointing. Most entrees ok, however, curry puffs never lived up to the name-nil curry. Mains very boring and little taste, and meat nothing special. Coconut rice is coconut rice. Don't ever ask for any form of coffee, not only weak and insipid but not even served on a matching saucer and hence, coffee all over saucer. Did not ask to split bill but asked to divide bill between 2 credit cards. Told machine could not do it!!! After some discussion, 2 credit cards somehow worked. <br/>If venturing to Pinewood Shopping Centre, there are many very good eateries there. Just saying.
Kira Dinh
A Thai spot in the midst of the pinewood shopping centre. I decided to try something different instead of my usual pad Thai dish that I normally order whenever I go out to eat at Thai places. However, I soon regretted my decision because although the chicken cashew dish was nice, it wasn't to my liking and had much preferred the pad Thai. Customer service was good though :)
Minh Le
Good food and service was just ok. May come back next time to try other dishes and expect better service. Recommend to anyone to try this restaurant
Vegieface
The best way I could describe this place is "extremely hit and miss". Service is questionable, and kitchen staff have zero attention to detail - resulting in them often stuffing up. I'm not one to drop a low rating and not explain why, so for vegetarians AND meat eaters out there, here is my experience. Heed this warning;<br/>For my fellow vegetarians out there - exercise caution when ordering from here. Bae and I are pretty big fans of the vego pad Thai and vego pad see ewe. In general, they are delicious, however sometimes we'll get heaps of tofu per dish, and other times we'll be lucky to get even one piece of tofu. In this aspect, they're incredibly inconsistent (the phrase "I didn't get any tofu in mine" is used far too often amongst bae and I). They've also sent us prawn spring rolls in the past, and last night sent us chicken instead of tofu - although I'll get to that in a minute. So be aware that kitchen staff do not pay full attention to orders and may send you unrequested meat, so you may be taking a bit of a gamble ordering here. <br/>Now a note for everyone; they may take your money and not send you food. Or send you food, but send you the wrong thing. <br/>A couple months ago, bae ordered well before 9:30 (when the kitchen closes). In fact, it was probably a couple minutes after 9. A tofu pad Thai, a tofu pad see ewe, and roti bread. Nothing complicated. We receive the confirmation email. It gets closer to 9:45 (when it's meant to be delivered) and we start to question where our food is since they're usually pretty quick, so bae tries to call. The phone was picked up and immediately put down again, and all subsequent calls were not answered. We contacted them in the morning and they didn't even have a reason for taking bae's money and not sending any food. They refunded for the order, but it was very weird. <br/>Now for last night, the most disappointing of all;<br/>8:30 - bae places on online order. Confirmation email says it'll be delivered at 9:15. All good, we can wait. 9:15 rolls around and again, we're surprised that it hasn't been delivered yet since they usually are early. We slowly approach 9:30 and bae decides to call to check where the food is, saying we placed the order an hour ago and it was meant to be here 15 minutes ago. Dude on the phone says "20 minutes". It becomes pretty clear they've somehow forgotten our order and are only about to start it. So we're already quite frustrated with having waited so long. <br/>Finally, at 9:55, we get the call saying the delivery guy is outside. We're so hungry at this point, and bae rushes out and back inside with the food, excitedly taking the food out. We joke that there's more crunchy green veggies than usual (my favourite), and a few seconds later, bae moves some food around and says "they've sent me chicken". I check mine, and I've got chicken, too. Bae double checks we ordered vegetarian (we did!), and calls them immediately. The guy on the phone can't do much - kitchen is closed so he can only refund the money. Now as a hospo person - I understand that once the kitchen is closed, there's nothing really that can be done. I understand. <br/>But what I absolutely don't understand is how they forget about an entire order, and then end up sending two vegetarians meat. <br/>Luckily we contacted a friend and they were able to take the food and none was thrown away, but we're extremely disappointed with the frequency at which our orders are not done correctly. <br/>So I'll reiterate that the vegetarian food is good, but getting the correct order, or getting more than one piece of tofu, or even getting your order at all, is an entirely different story, and the customer service is really not great.

Ordered takeout yesterday for dinner and whilst the food was tasty, the portions were rediculous. Masman beef was more masman potato with a sparse sprinkling of beef and the prawn dishes had about 4 prawns in each portion. Would not order again.<br/>

I always order via home delivery and they're super fast! All the times I ordered I didn't have to wait for too long even though the page states 45mins (I somehow get my food around 30minutes, sometimes under - cos I'm nearby too). I'm a spice lover so while their food is pretty tasty and fragrant, it's on the sweeter side. I have yet to request spicier (not sure if they can do it) for certain dishes. Will pop by one day!
Mathew Hnoudis
Food was nice but it could have done with some extra chilli as I had asked. Roti and satay sauce was nice and coconut rice was nice. Sent me a soda water instead of mineral water but that wasn't an issue. <br/>Fresh veggies and lots of meat in the stir fry as well.

Had a lovely lunch here with work friends. Everyone enjoyed their meal - off the lunch menu. Nice ambience - comfortable and spacious. Quick service. Thumbs up from us all that this is our new work lunch restaurant.

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The service was good, the waiting time for food was good considering it was a very busy Saturday night & the food was absolutely delicious - definitely would recommend going here!

I've ordered delivery with this place before and it has been of good quality. Nothing special but definitely capable of fulfilling thai cravings with the convenience of not having to leave the house. But I was so disappointed with my order on Sunday night. The Tom yum had no spice and tasted way too sweet- the vegetables were also very soggy and the whole dish just not great. The green curry was also very sweet, oil and didn't have that fresh taste of Thai flavours. Don't think I'll be ordering again.
Cindy
Come here with my families. Appetites are fine, but need to wait for a while. The problem is main courses, I think all the main got the same flavour~. Don't understand, all fried dishes are same, just change the prawns for scollops, and everything else is same.

We've been here a few times now and always consistently great. Its a good local restaurant with nice decor and fresh food. I usually have the Massaman curry, sweet and soft.
MissGertrudeParis
Great menu especially the lunch menu good value! Food is totally authentic and full of flavour however the service lacks personality. If you are after a low cost meal without the atmosphere and character then go for it

Spontaneous outings are spontaneous for a reason and of late, its a ritual that I have been looking forward to despite my daily post-gym/work exhaustion. Having good company does make a lot of difference in terms of uplifting my mood, indirectly calming my scrambled brain cells. Place was moderately full of hungry customers and despite the menu not being as extensive as compared to other restaurants, we still struggled to decide on what to have and probably spent more time rambling on about other topics :p

Had lunch here yesterday  - actually open from 12 though on this page that seems to say less. Not a huge choice but what we had was light, delicious and interesting - one entree to share and 2 dishes to share - one salad (with pork mince) and one light chicken dish -with a delicious light sauce -  sorry I've forgotten the names  -and a small steamed fragrant rice. Much more than enough for two, we should have ordered a doggy bag about half-way through, but just kept adding more to our plates! Only $20 each so well in the cheap eats range. The place was filled with people on their lunch break which made it too noisy but obviously popular. Highly recommended. Got less than 5 stars because of the noise factor. The service was friendly, efficient and unobtrusive. Despite message saying no split bill they were happy to take 'half' from each of us no problems.
Good Food Lover
Been many times but most recently presented a terrible dish lacking in flavour. The restaurant owner was also very unpleasant and seemed like she didn't want to be there. Maybe a one off but I won't be dining there again.
Why Not
The service was quick, however the food was dry apart from one meal. The Gai yang BBQ was really nice full of flavour unfortunately the Pad Thai was dry and the chicken was over cooked as well as the chicken skewers.

Went there and was expecting an average meal but was extremely surprised. <br/><br/>Food is extremely authentic and flavourful. <br/><br/>Prices are extremely generous for the quality given. <br/><br/>Would recommend going if you don't want to eat at Kingsway and are near glen

Details: so I need to honestly change my review of this place. I was ridiculously disappointed with my meal tonight. When is it okay for someone to have their main meal 20 minutes before you on the table? My vegetable and prawn dish with the sweet sauce (I'm so bad with remembering dish names) was really nice and the pad thai looked great too (as per usual). It was really just the service I was not happy about at all tonight and the loudness of the venue but I understand that coming up to Christmas it would be pretty ridiculous because of the busy period.<br/><br/>My previous review made 3 months ago about the take away menu was this:<br/><br/>Siam Village is honestly ridiculously good value for money! Was very full with left overs after a $25 meal ! Recommend the money bags and pad thai 😍 haven't sat inside though so cannot review the inside! Seems relatively nice to sit inside as well though!

It is a very nice lunch place. Had green curry, it is very tasty. The quality of rice is not that good, but ok to eat. The dessert banana fritte is excellent !
Nico
Literally 50%+ oil/fat. Terrible delivery service.<br/>Horrible food. I can never see myself ordering from this establishment again. Absolutely disgusted.
CeeeSaw
Not too bad. Curries and noddles can be a little greasy. Stir-frys quite fresh and nice. Typical Thai, nothing special, but will do for quick Friday night take-away. Bonus points for online ordering and free home delivery!

Stopping by for a quick bite to eat, we ordered the beef green curry and massamum beef. We were informed that it'd be 10min so we went for a quick walk, picked up food and drove off.<br/><br/>Food was really tasty except for the fact that they handed us an incorrect order: a beef green curry and a chicken red curry. We only realise this once we were back in the office. Oh well.
Catherine Johnston
A decent lunch time option. $10.50 for a Pad Thai served super quickly to accommodate the lunch break. The serving was decent and I was able to take home my left overs.
Dilani De Silva
Had dinner with three dishes: entrée of thai fish cakes - tiny, oily and sweet.Beef red curry with coconut rice: initially quite sweet, slowly built a subtle spicyness by the time we finished the dish. Chicken Pad Khee Mao: extremely sweet, couldn't eat anymore than half a dozen bites. Felt like eating dinner and dessert in one meal.Although staff were friendly, overall we were not impressed, overpriced and unauthentic. Many better thai restaurants around so will not be returning to this one.
Arj Herath
What!?! No prawn crackers?!? Pad Thai and the red beef curry were above average. Service was quick and with a smile and that was about it...
Molly Baulch
This is our local Thai restaurant and is reliable for your favourite Thai dish. The restaurant can cater for large groups and there is an extra dining area upstairs. The roti is delicious as are the wide rice noodles - my favourite. Takeaway can be more greasy than the food you eat in the store we have found. All of the meals are high quality and good portion sizes.
Iamapotato
The red duck curry is definitely something to crave for once you've had it. I've always had great friendly service here but I hope I never have to encounter the dreaded owner.

Had lunch here the other day with my wife, as we adore Thai food. It was pretty busy when we went, a good sign when trying a new place.<br/><br/>They had a lunch menu available with dishes from $10.50. My wife had the chicken with cashews and I had spicy prawns (seafood lunch options were $15). Both were delicious, and served pretty quickly considering the number of patrons at the time.<br/><br/>Not sure about the extra cost for seafood (there were 5 large prawns on the plate), but I'd be happy to go back to try a $10.50 dish.

We went for dinner in Pinewood at a Thai place called<br/>'Siam Village'. Me & hubby don't get to go out much as we have a toddler. The food came out early enough but only half the order came out<br/><br/>After, 20mins or so I asked the girl where the rest of the order was? she had no idea what had happened and seemed clueless<br/> <br/>The main owner came - a rude woman. We told her what<br/>happened, she went to the kitchen ....blah blah. No one came back to us to tell<br/>us what happened. By this point, I was annoyed and said to cancel the rest of<br/>the dinner. <br/><br/>I told her that I was upset that they did not take the<br/>order properly.  I could not believe it<br/>that rather then an apology. <br/>She started yelling and shouting ...arguing that we did<br/>not order properly. She had no concern for out toddler or the other guests<br/>sitting in the restaurant.<br/>It was clearly a case of miscommunication,<br/>which, could have been resolved with an apology and understanding behaviour. I<br/>have never seen a restaurant misbehave with a customer that way. They may have good food but they have the most horrible customer service ever!! shameful
William
Normally quite good, but quality has been noticably decreasing of late. For instance their vegetarian meals previously had a good amount of tofu, but my last meal only had 2 small pieces and then tonight there was none. Tonight they also gave us meat spring rolls when we ordered vegetarian ones. <br/>The food's delicious, but little things like this have made it disappointing of late.
Kc
Just a local Thai- won't kill u but nothing special...

Dissatisfied. Average food. Service was non existent

Been really happy with the food here, getting takeaway recently, nice green chicken and red duck curry, the same cannot be said for chicken skewers they were very dry. Dined in last night, the lamb curry was very tender, and the girls smiling and friendly, also have ordered online for takeaway with success and I am happy to keep coming back. <br/>The curry is better than peacock
Kim
Disappointed - slow service. Food was excellent but a pity about the service. We were a party of 10 and the service was ad hoc. Entrees came out in dribs and drabs with some mains coming while others were still waiting for entrees. We arrived at 7.30pm but one main came out at 9pm long after all the others had finished eating. Saturday night is obviously not the night to go as previous week night experiences have been good.
Mossnok
The best padthai. I love to come this place for lunch. The food so quick and cheap price $10.50 we have not much time for lunch break and staff very friendly
Maxlikesmacs
Fantastic, fresh, friendly. We ate at Siam Village for the first time last week and it was excellent. The food was fresh and the service was very friendly. I had the massaman curry which was prepared as it should be. The chicken stir fry was spicy and fresh, and servings were generous. Best spring rolls ever. I found out about it through word of mouth, its a local institution. <br/><br/>I'm glad I didn't read urban spoon first. When did balanced restaurant reviews become uncool? I didn't get the memo. I't seems the only people to leave reviews these days are whining hipsters - I've noticed that in reviews for lot of restaurants lately, not just for this restaurant.
Racquel.dsouza
Terrible experience...don't eat here!!!!!!!. My family along with my extended family all went to dine here last week for Fathers Day.. The food was average however at the end of the afternoon we suddenly realized the waitress quickly taking down all the references to MasterCard at the restaurant and a hand written a4 page stated cash only. There were 15 of us in total all prepared to pay by card. This is where it got messy. Not wanting to declare their earnings for a Sunday the restaurant suddenly refused to take card. As you can imagine paying by cash for 15 people was ridiculous. Further more, if they had to tell this to us prior to sitting down to eat we would have been more prepared, instead they did this upon asking for the bill. We mentioned that their restaurant had MasterCard signs everywhere and their website noted they accept card. The owner instead of apologizing became very defensive and abrupt causing a big scene in restaurant. We managed to pay by cash but what a shocking experience to go through on Father's Day. Shame on you Siam village. Very unethical conduct here and a apology would have gone a long way....I rate this a zero....I wish I took photos of them taking their MasterCard signs down so I could report them to the ATO...
Benjaminbenc
Great Customer Service. In a busy kitchen, even the best make mistakes. When I notified the manager of Siam Village of their mistake, it was resolved without question. Their customer service has won me over as a return customer.
Skyeee_
What a joke!. I ordered using their online ordering feature on their webpage. My order was placed at 8.30pm and I recieved a confirmation saying it would arrive at 9.15pm by 10pm we got worried and called the restaurant to no answer! What a joke. Dont have an online service if you cant actually deliever! Do not order from this restaurant!

Best thai food. Eat there all the time. Food is fantastic. Red chicken curry and beef massaman curry are the best. Oh and the garlic roti is amazing. No muck around with food being served and always consistent. Highly recommended.
Teganclark
Don't eat here. Very disappointed with this Thai food. The prawn rolls entrees tasted like rubbery chicken. The tom yum soup tasted like chicken stock and MSG. Our BBQ chicken dish (gai yang) sauce tasted like mildly flavoured water with fatty grey chicken pieces and our fish cakes were like eating rubber. The only good thing was the roti and satay sauce.
Bubble O
Overpriced and seriously worst Thai food I've ever had. Left the restaurant feeling being ripped off. Not going to come back for sure
Jand
A favourite. Siam Village is a family favourite - we order regularly. Great food and great service always. Thanks for another yummy meal!
Npmurray
Nice Local Thai. Love their food. Most of their menu is good and decent value for money. My favorite are the noodles and the Thai red curry, It's pretty authentic. One of my most favorite Thai restaurants, worth giving it a go.Tasty, fresh and great quality. Good service and enjoyable meals, fair prices with good proportions. This place was recommendation for dinner from a friend, will definitely continue to recommend it to other friends of mine.

Great Customer Service - Jai Yen. I disagree with the June 23 reviews by Alex Borland, Bex Borland, Leeka445 and Coiti317. The food is great, the staff try hard, they smile and are polite even under the most difficult circumstances. I saw what went on. A customer was physically aggressive towards staff. The customer was banned. The customer threatened blackmail with bad reviews if he didn’t get his way. Now four bullying, defamatory reviews are published by Urbanspoon and the restaurant doesn’t even have a right of reply. So for the sake of editorial balance, I am responding in favour of Siam Village. I’ll certainly eat there again.
Alex Borland
Average food hours late. Not much moreto say other than all attempts to expedite the delivery failed.
Bexborland
Terrible customer service. A few weeks ago we ordered delivery from this restaurant. it took well over two hours for delivery! We have a toddler so waiting two hours is not ideal. We called repeatedly asking where food was first few times were told driver on the way. We live 5 mins away from restaurant. After about an hour they started telling us the driver knocked and no one was there. Flat out lie. I was playing in front room with my toddler. Nobody came. They told us after much complaint they'd refund us. The food was awful so not worth the wait. Now they tell us the driver was met with aggression at the door and we won't get our money back.<br/>My toddler was with us so there was absolutely no aggression just annoyance as he's very sensitive to arguing.<br/><br/>Totally terrible service and terrible food to match it. I certainly don't recommend.
Leeka445
Worst customer service ever!!! Don't ever order delivery from this restaurant. We waited 2 hours for the food to be delivered. The restaurant is less than 5 mins from our place. When the delivery driver came, we were met with a rude arrogant man. When we called to speak with the Manager and arrange a refund for the cold food and poor service, the driver accused us of being aggressive towards him. Due to this, the manager denied our refund as 'a duty of care' to his staff. Rubbish service, rubbish food. A terrible restaurant in every way.
Tim Courtney
Absolutely useless liars. I hardly ever write reviews, however I felt compelled to warn everyone else. My family and I ordered Saturday 14 June via the eatnow.com.au website. After 1.5 hours the driver called me asking where the place is (actually live just around the corner), after playing on the "I don't speak english well card" mid sentence he turned his story around to claim that he had actually already been up to knock on our door to deliver (utter rubbish since we were sitting by the door the entire time watching our young one). Shortly after he finally "found" the place, he proceeded to yell at my brother claiming that it was our fault for giving him the wrong address (it was correct). After complaining to the restaurant that night I asked how we would be compensated for this as we ended up waiting 2 hours and getting cold food from something that is actually less than 2 km away. He promised a full refund that never came. Eatnow were fantastic and followed this up with the restaurant and they said that unfortunately the restaurant were unwilling to budge on this and wouldn't come through on their promise. On top of all of this, the food was over priced rubbish even if it was cold. Never again will we order here.
Stacey Doward
Very unassuming, but excellent food, fast service and the price is very reasonable! Will definitely be back :)

Yummy Thai. I do like a good thai and this was a place suggested for dinner for 10 on a Sunday evening after an afternoon movie.<br/><br/>What a delight and really quite reasonably price. Would happily return there.
Mistermister
Went here because Proud Peacock was closed on Mon lunch. Very surprised by the yummy pad Thai and curries. We will definitely be back. Quick and friendly service.
Jimmy Chew Food
Not as good as it used to be. Since I was last there 2 years ago, they seem to have changed chefs. The Barramundi was just a huge hit for me back then, and used to be so saucy and tasty, with just enough chilli spice. Now it's less tasty, the sauce is lacking and runny, and the chilli would be too excessive for most people. Hopefully there's a night chef who does the Barra the way I remember it. The classic thai food there is quite delicious though. The pad thai and minced beef with basil and vegetables were very nice, although the red curry was bland and a bit runny also. Will try again at dinner time I think.

Been getting take away from here for over 3 years. Good prices for beautiful food, never had a complaint until about a year ago. <br/>But since then I've had several forgotten and incorrect orders, culminating in tonight's fiasco where my order was forgotten until I called up after an hour of waiting, at which point I was told it'd be another 20 minutes (they'd originally said it would be their usual 45 minutes, although usually they're great and it arrives in 20-30 minutes).<br/>A half hour later (so up to an hour and a half of waiting at this point) our food arrives, we eagerly open our 2 vegetarian meals only to discover they're chock full of chicken. Upon calling the store I was told I'd get a full refund, which was nice, but that since it's after 10pm at this point their kitchen is closed so they can't replace it for me. You know who else's kitchen is closed after 10? Every other takeaway place in the area. So now I'm stuck sitting at home eating cereal for dinner with this delicious food that I can't eat rotting in my bin. <br/>Something's gone wrong with this restaurant, and if they don't fix it soon they'll have lost a loyal customer who has spent 3 years loving their food and exposing as many other locals as possible to it, not to mention I can't be the only customer to have experienced this downward spiral of service.

Not Authentic. We ordered a couple of dishes (in Thai Language) and specifically asked for authentic Thai flavours (restaurants usually cater for Australian palate).<br/><br/>The dishes were abysmal. They lacked either flavour or taste. I would not rate this as Thai food. The simplest dish of Pad Krapow Gai (Basil Chicken) was a complete failure let alone other salads.<br/><br/>It was a complete disappointment and we would not recommend or go back again.

Not once but twice! I regu.... Not once but twice! <br/>I regularly dine at this local but tonight is defiantly my last. <br/>With a severe and serious nut allergy I always mention it to the waiter to tell the chefs. Tonight i ordered roti bread, it came to our table with a side of peanut satay!! I mentioned this to the waitress who didn't apologise, just took it away. <br/>Then as I'm eating my main beef stir fry, to my shock I find a peanut amongst my dish! Frustrated I called the waiter to tell her what happened, a 'sorry' was all I got. What appalled me more was the owner sat two tables away. She did nothing about it. We got charged full price, and there was no further apology.<br/>This is not good enough. <br/>The only good thing about it is that there is a hospital 500 meters away if anyone with allergies wants to take the chance.

For what you pay dining in, servings were small. I don't eat much generally but us two girls finished the pad Thai, green curry and rice and were still hungry :/ I'd like the green curry to be thicker, was quite watery. I think ur better off going to thai garden in glen waverley. Still the best one in the area I've tried, but am currently working my way through the offerings in the south east

Our initial waiter was friendly, but after we placed the order, he was a bit abrupt in taking some of the excess glasses away. <br/>We had a large table ordered about 3-4 serves of each dish. The soup came out first, after about half an hr. We had one missing, and when we asked about it, the waiter went out the back to check. The owner (possibly) brought it out and put it roughly on the table, then almost tree the spoon at the bowl...<br/>After entrees were served, half of the rice was brought out and placed in the centre of the table. We sat here for over an hour before any of main dishes were brought out, and the half served rice bowls were cold.<br/><br/>The dishes itself were quite tasty and fresh, but the staff were not so friendly. Perhaps it was because we had a large group - 15 adults - and it made alot of work... <br/><br/>I might come back with a smaller group. <br/>Highly recommend the Pad Thai!

Great Thai. Tasty authentic Thai restaurant. Meals are reasonable priced and very tasty, regularly dine here and order takeaway and will continue to do so.

Warning do not go here!!! Took 45 minutes for 4 chicken skewers to go out plus a further hour and a half for two pad thai dishes. People around us had waited in excess of 2 hours. Staff dont care. Don't go here!

Tasty, fresh, free local delivery if you order online. Best value if you take away and steam your own rice as the rice is rather expensive and the meals are cheaper take away. I also find the stir fries to be of greater size than the curries (all similar prices) worth trying.

Forgotten About. We have visited Siam Village a couple of times, and regularly had take away from there, and let me begin by saying the food has always been beautiful. The ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are distinct with a good amount of hot kick. However our most recent visit on a Saturday night turned into somewhat of a comical routine. The restaurant was very busy, and people were crammed in uncomfortably close to each other. 6 of us were dining together, and 1 person got her meal about 20 minutes before anyone else. When we queried what had happened to our other meals, the waitresses seemed somewhat confused. Over the course of the next 2 hours, we received a few serves of rice that sat and went cold, and 3 of the 5 remaining meals. We had also asked to look at the wine list to order some wine, but no one came back to take our order. When we questioned where our other 2 meals were, the waitress accepted no responsibility, and actually tried to accuse us of not placing orders for the missing meals??? When we requested the bill, all meals (including the missing ones, and a missing roti bread) were on the bill, and we had to explain to waitress what meals we had actually received. At no point was there any apology from the staff, or any effort to compensate for the terrible service. We spoke to a lady who seemed to be the manager at the end of the night, and she assured us that she would speak to the waiting staff, so hopefully Siam Village will get their act together and back their great food up with service to match.

Yummmo!. I love their food. Most of their menu is pretty good and decent value for money. The lunch menu is good value uner $10 for a selection of main meals. The only downside is it can get pretty noisy in there so not easy to have conversations and can get pretty warm in there. Customer service varies - some days staff don't offer the best service, but it's acceptable. My favourite are the noodles and the thai green curry. It's pretty authentic. One of my favourite thai restaurants. Worth giving it a try.

Hidden Gem. I didnt know this restaurant existed until we had our Christmas family gathering here.<br/>Had I known this place existed and the food tasted this good, I would have come back even more. I found the food was decent size, quality was great and the service was efficient. The mix of Thai Beers with Thai food was heavenly. Do try it!

Lovely Local. We went on Boxing Day 2012, and the place was packed, noisy and had lovely food. Entrees were served super quickly, and the staff were attentive. We had the beef Masaman Curry, although the flavour was subtle the dish and especially the meat was cooked beautifully. We also had the satay skewers for entree, which were good and the green chicken curry for main, which was also light on flavour but otherwise yum-o.

Great meal. I go there for lunch often and last night my husband and I tried out dinner. I had the Pla Lad Prik, a whole fish on a plate, it looked and tasted great. Overall it was excellent, nice decor and service was friendly. They always seem busy and now I know why.

Worse Service Ever!. Went there tonight and was rudey rushed out by some middle aged woman. Just because it's a busy night doesn't mean I can't enjoy a meal at my own pace.<br/>Very disappointed I even bothered paying for such second rate food and a service that doesn't even rate.<br/><br/>How they've stayed in business is beyond me!
PS
Another amazing thai restaurant. This is another one we go to apart to Boronia Thai. Authentic flavour with great service.

Fast and fabulous. I took a group of 12 to dinner and an 8.30pm movie @ Waverley. Every dish glowed with colour and was delivered early so we could savour our main course and chat in a leisurely way before our movie deadline. There was positive approval right around the table - so all our guests would recommend a visit. I'm so surprised to read that others found the dishes expensive - no way! And each serve was a good size - the 'with vegies' dishes seemed a bit more generous. I'm so in love with the chilli flowers that garnished many meals!

Dinner Review. Thought the food tasted unique and good. However, was disappointed with the main dishes. We ordered a jungle duck, there was more jungle than duck feathers. Surprisingly, the same applied to most dishes including Pork (which I thought was a cheaper meat). There was a sprinkling of pork in a sea of gravy and veg. Disappointing as they have good taste. Fix this guys, you are letting yourself down.

Recommend this place. At work we often order from this restaurant, they always take 'special' orders like extra tofu and no brocoli. Always on time for pick up, friendly, lovely tasty food. Highly recommend

Authentic. This is the most authentic Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. It's also reasonably priced with generous serves.

Expensive and small serves but quality not bad
Foxy
The food wasn't bad. The duck curry was good but the service was poor. The waitress stuffed up the order and looked pissed off at us like it was our fault. I don't think I will go again.

I just keep going back to Siam, the food is beautiful every time!!!
The Hungry Hippo
Fresh, tasty, sweet and zingy Thai.. I visit at least once a week and have never been disappointed. <br/>The lunch specials are excellent, tasty and great value.<br/>Seeya there.

A bit overpriced... ..but their curries are wicked! expecially their red duck curry, cooked with fruits it was very unique!

We don't usually try to seek out Thai food. But one night, we stumbled upon this little treasure. Since then, I've frequently craved their red duck curry and have had bouts of incurable longing for it. Sometimes when it gets really bad, I would N drive me there so that I can sneak bites of it in the car. Their tom yum soup is also very soothing and is N's favourite.
