Great food and great value. I highly recommend getting the potato cakes and burger the lot. The chips portion are very generous. Owner is also very friendly.

Totally love this place. The service is very quick. The souvlaki is so filling. Tried all of them and they are so fresh each time. The chips are crisp and served hot.

Had the fisherman basket consisting of a flake, prawn, scallop squids plus chips and a tub of tartare sauce. Not bad, the seafoods were fresh. And the portions were generous. I would definitely stop in more often in the future to try out their burgers since I stay close by.
Can't believe I've just discovered this place even though I have lived in the area my whole life! Fast and fresh fish and chips!! The chips are always crunchy perfectly seasoned. I particularly like the burgers. So glad I found this place :)
Great fish'n'chips - their fish is better than their great burgers but I've never had anything resembling average from Archie's. Very clean, great service but gets very busy because it's so popular - I highly recommend calling through your order first.
Great local chippy, never had a bad meal here. Since moving from Perth found it hard to find a good decent chippy but this place is a must for anyone in the area best chip shop around

We have been going to Archie's for nearly 4 years and the reason i look forward to Fridays is for Fish and Chip Friday. The staff are always friendly and helpful and they know hoe to cook a great burger. Thanks again for another awesome meal.
Old school fish and chips, LOVE IT! You know it's good when there is a 30 minute on Friday night and you see half the parents from school! Great consistent food, keep up the good work!

Not the cheapest by any means, but still probably worth the price (just).
They sometimes take the phone off the hook so you can't pre-order by ringing in advance which means a long wait in the shop on busy nights.
Frequented by dedicated locals, Archie's does a very brisk trade. With a crowd to feed, we got a range of tasty fried things to share. The resounding feedback from all was that the seafood was very tasty and fresh; shellfish was plump and juicy; everything was nicely seasoned; and for fish and chips standards, it wasn't greasy.
Besides their fish and awesome calamari rings they do very decent Chicken Schnitzel Burgers. I rarely order Chicken Schnitzel burgers because i find most or all Schnitzels have a lot of crumbs and little chicken – The Chicken schnitzel burger at Archies’s is a very generous chicken breast! Its even double stacked for double goodness, very tasty :)
Fish and Chippies!. Battered fish is crispy and yummy - obviously fresh. Comes with a wedge of lemon for squeezing over. Chips are thick cut and again crisp. Every single time. Potato cakes are plentiful. Food is good! Really, what more does a fish and chip shop need to do?
OMG! Best Fish & Chips EVER!. Do yourself a favour and if considering buying fish and chips, GO TO ARCHIE'S!!! For the love of God, the quality and freshness of the food is to die for, quite literally, and the potato cakes are unlike anything else we have ever tried. Good ole fashioned potato cakes, the non greasy yet super crunchy kind *drools*. I cannot rate Archie's high enough, nor can I relay just how awesome they are. We drive 40 minutes to eat fish & chips here if that tells you anything. Amazing, amazing, amazing! Oh, and their schnitzels are big enough to kill someone with! Totally freaking awesome!

Thank you Archie!. Everything at Archie's is great. Get the potato cakes for the love of God. You can really taste the difference between a fresh one and the frozen store bought variety. He makes them from scratch. The burgers, the Souvlaki, the seafood are equally amazing. Occasionally he will have some off-menu items like oysters and other things usually available to regulars. If you're going to get a schnitzel roll, bring your appetite because it is one huge mother..
It's rare to have a fish and chip shop that puts pride in their food than simply just making money. This is indeed the best I've had in the eastern side of Melbourne. Highly recommended.

Great fish and chips. This is a great fish and chip shop - run by people who know how to cook good fish and chips! Since being taken over a couple of years ago - the place has experienced a resurgence. The fish is crisp, crab sticks great and the chips are tasty. They also have great burgers and souvlaki!!!

Archies Rocks!. Getting excited about fish & chips is rare these days, since most fish & chips places are usally run by people, who frankly don't care about serving high quality food or haven't been in the country long enough to understand Australia's quality expectations of fish & chips... However, Archies is a big exception and sets a very high standard. This rare find, is probably one of, or the best, Fish & Chips places in Melbourne! A huge claim to make, but once you eat there, you will agree.
Run by a very kind Greek man, Archies offers outstanding value and quality. The seafood is always fresh and there is plenty to choose from: prawns, scallops, oysters, salmon, blue grenadier, fresh Greek salads etc. All the food portion sizes are big too. The prawns are king size, and the fish is what you would get if you ordered a piece from the supermarket... not the usual 'fish and chips' 'rip me off size', you would normally get elsewhere.The chips are even great sized portions too... you get proper thick chips, and hardly any tiny scrappy bits which have unfortunately become synonymous with "fish and chips" these days. Did I mention that this place uses fresh oil? You don't get that "ive eaten too many chips" sick feeling after eating there.
Anyway, you can probably tell I'm excited about this place. I am and I've recommended everyone I work with, who work in the local area to check it out. They have all become fans too. I've told Archie he should have me on a commission structure for all the people I've told! :D
So if you like Fish & Chips, and want fresh food, great size portions and reasonable prices: make sure to make the drive to Mount Waverley to check out Archies: you will not be disappointed! (Make sure to check out the picture I uploaded as proof of the quality!)

Love this little business! We tried the fish and chips here as we've recently moved close-by and our pup's name is Archie so we thought it was fitting to try it out.
I was amazed to see how clean and ordered this place is, especially in the world of fish and chip shops.
The fish was tasty and the scallops (potato cakes) were the best I've ever had in my life! The Greek chicken souvlaki was generous for the price and the seasoning was very tasty! We will definitely be back!
