Review Mt Waverley Fish & Chips - Mount Waverley

We called for take away 20 mins before closing. We ordered a fisherman's basket (Flake, 2 calamari, tiger prawn and what was called a "2x2 chips") and an additional grilled Flake for a total of $21.70. We picked up the order which seemed alarmingly light. We got at best a half serve of chips, our two grilled flake, a rubbery scallop, two heavily battered calamari rings that didn't even have holes and an over crumbed prawn. Everything had been bombarded from above with far too much salt and was either unsalted or inedibly salty. Very Disappointed.

The fish & chips were very good, no problem there guys, you will enjoy it. However, the steak in the steak sandwich was inedible, absolutely horrible. It was as thin as a McDonald's pattie and about 20% of it was gristle and fat, I pulled so much of it out of my mouth. Stay away from the steak.

Please change the oil. Please clean up the kitchen. Food safety inspectors should give a review Nasty smelly chips. To be honest flakes was good. If use the fresh oil even better!

Well. The past few reviews said new owners and excellent. I can't say I agree. Being someone who grew up in Tasmania and used to work on a Shark Fishing Boat... I ordered Calamari, prawns, scallops, Gummy Flake and chips. and steamed dim sims. 2 seperate orders. Service was fast. They forgot the dim sims (but rectified that after I told them). The calamari was overcooked and too chewy to eat. The flake.. was flake but not gummy flake. The prawns, and scallops were ok. the chips were undercooked. and they mixed the 2 orders up in the 2 different trays. putting fish in the wrong one. Adding a fish bite. the 8 calamari in 1 dish were 9. The other had no calamari when it was supposed to hjave 2. No-one else was waiting for service. I was hoping good things but not to be. My wife just said she cant eat her calamari pack at all as they are all like rubber. :(

They have the best blue grenadier fish and chips last week and this week had there sweet and sour pork and banana fritter. They are a great young couple and should be praised for their fabulous food and attention

always buy my chips and fish here! love these guys, nothing beats the wife's cooking better then this! Some of the slop shes creates really worries me. most of it goes in the bin. Why eat at home when I can burn my money at the local fish and fish shop. Wish I could eat here everyday. Sure I'm backed up for days but sometimes but when it comes to chips and chips nothing beats it.

I have to give them a star to review them but the chinese food was awful. Lemon and honey batter is what i would call it. No chicken to be seen. Just eating burnt fried batter pieces. Definitely don't recommend at all!!!! I've had the fish and chips as well. Equally as bad.

Very disappointing. I ordered two grilled flakes, ended up with one flake that was cut in two! Couldn’t believe how stingy they were with their serving sizes. Had to order a pizza as still hungry. Not ordering from these guys again and would not recommend them.

Its the first time we are eating the fish and chips in Melbourne and this restaurant didnt dissapoint me at all. Nice batter hot crispy chips !

I have to say it is the good one in this area. Small place for takeaway. Fish and chips are always good, my friend always order Singapore noodles, not bad. Staffs are also nice.

Tried their fish n chips last weekend. The store have been here for quite a long period. Its probably one of the oldest shop in the area.<br/><br/>Have to say, they know what they are doing. Their food tastes very nice! I will sure come back for different items on the menu.

For Groupon users, please avoid the " one person Asian feast" as they do not offer what is written. The chicken wings are always replaced with nuggets or dim sims! I asked why and the reason is Groupon got it wrong for that price. This is the 2nd time they pulled a stunt like that with me! I'm not happy and not coming back to this eatery!

I have ordered from this place so many times and was not once let down... however this time I was shocked at the standard. The chips were mearly warm, my burger was cold and had hardly any sauce or cooked onions even though I paid extra for more onion. The souvalaki was flat and contained hardly any filling hence the shape. Was quite disappointed with the whole order.

been here 3 times. All 3 occasion I ordered the same fish, still very happy with the snapper and barramundi I ordered. Its fresh and juicy. Keep up the good work.<br/><br/>10/12/2017. Was so happy on the way to collect my fish and chips. Tried flounder today. Given big portion of fish but alas. It's not fresh. :(
