Review Volpino Pizzeria & Wine Bar - Mt Martha

A beautiful spot in the heart of Mount Martha. Lots of staple Italian options and a very unique pizza menu. If you love good pizza, they have some beautiful choices. The staff are friendly and accommodating. They have quite indoor dining and plenty of outdoor dining. Vegan/vegetarian options are very limited and unfortunately no consideration for plant based or vegan protein.

Due to Covid uncertainty, Volpino wasn’t taking reservations so we tried our luck and drove down there. After a short wait, a table became available. This was cleared and then sterilized before being offered to us. Service was friendly and prompt. The Managers displayed a nice and genuine rapport with the many regulars arriving and in attendance, as well as new patrons. To drink, we had a Bellini and a Volpino Pale Ale. To start with, we ordered the Sardinian white anchovies, which were perfectly marinated, delicious and generous in quantity. For mains, we had the seafood marinara and a Tartufo pizza with mushrooms and truffle oil. Both of which were most delicious. To finish, we had a piccolo latte and shared a tiramisu. Coffee was very good and the tiramisu, to quote my wife, was the best she had ever had. We look forward to returning to this lovely place, with delicious food and great service.

On our first trip to Mt Martha, Volpino was a great choice. Although super busy for a Friday eve warm nights dinner, we were eventually attended to by a very friendly (albeit bit cheeky!) waiter who knew the menu and wine list perfectly. The seafood handmade tagliatelle and the beef ragu were matched perfectly with suggested wines. The bustling atmosphere gave a seaside Italian vibe. A great experience. Will try the mushroom pizza next time.

Delicious food and good service. Very busy during lunchtime but were able to get a table.Beach across the road.

A perfect spot for a pizza or pasta. We stopped for Sunday lunch and had a delicious, generous seafood spaghetti and a beautifully cooked lamb backstrap with cauliflower puree. Staff are attentive, friendly and efficient.

Had a terrific lunch here last week. We ordered from the extensive specials board ... bacon, leek and parmesan croquettes to start, home made gnocchi with mushrooms and sweet potato pizza ... all were really tasty and perfectly cooked. Front of house service was also excellent.

Overall we enjoyed ourselves, the pasta and pizza were good and the servers friendly. It took quite a while for our food to come out, so long that the glass of wine I had chosen to complement the meal was finished. My husband loved his pizza but did not enjoy the wine (and he's usually not picky!) We'd come back but with lower expectations.

Gourmet pizza is supposed to be just that. Vegetarian simply standard ingredients and not much on it. Not good value for our standard pizza either.
