Had our Daughters baptism here tonight and it was nothing short of fantastic! The gentleman looking after us was a great. The food was plentiful and most importantly, delicious. Antonella was a pleasure to deal with. Thank you to everyone that made our night a special one. I highly recommend Last Piece for your next function.
Amazing food. If you love mushrooms I would highly recommend forrest green. Not only are the flavours on point, the serving is so generous but the friendliness of the staff was the highlight. Make sure you do yourself a favour and check out these guys !!! #foodcoma
Went here for brunch on a Saturday with family. Greeted and seated promptly even though it was quite busy. Friendly service and lovely food. My grandson enjoyed the kids menu with colouring in. Would definitely recommend 👌⭐️👍🏽
I've always had lovely breakfasts here but my opinion of The Last Piece has gone through the roof since attending a wedding reception yesterday.
The staff were incredible. They kept an eye one everyone, figured out the vegetarians, catered to all dietary requirements, made sure everyone was well fed, kept hands full with bevvies at all times, and did all of this with genuine courtesy and a smile.
Terrific venue for dining, catering and a coffee.
Couldn’t recommend a better place to eat or have a function. The staff are amazing and looked after our wedding reception so well, from the set up to making sure everyone was stuffed full!
We had a function there on a Friday night. The food was beautiful and our waiter fantastic. Highly recommend!
Went there with the family today to celebrate my bro end of exams, enjoyed the food, coffee was good and service was great!
Way to many haters reviewing this place
Thank you waiter for taking the family photo !
A nice casual italian dining place with friendly staff and well spaced out booth/table seating.
We ordered the Margherita classic pizza which was decently sized with the best woodfire and crispy crust. The tomato sugo was evenly spread with a generous amount of bocconcini. The basil added a great aroma and sweetness to the pizza.
The rigatoni carbonara is the best pasta I've had in a long time. The sauce wasn't watery and thick enough to last the whole dish. The parmasan was overpowering and added a great taste to the dish which was well paired with the bacon, cream and and perfectly cooked penne pasta.
Great spot in the old VFL Park’s “last piece”. There’s a large car park but this is shared with the gym and other stores so during peak periods you may need to park on the street. The foods good, and fairly priced. If you go on the weekend it’s quite busy and you may have a little bit of wait for a table or food to come out.
Amazing food, lovely service! Gave my dad a free beer for Father’s Day which was great. 10/10
When my family sat down we were ready to order after a few minutes but no one came back to check on us. We kept putting our hands up and looking around, but yet no one came to us. We then decided to come inside so they would notice and only then did they come back to our table. The food was not up to my standard. They did not have a spiced chai and the prani one was way too frothy for my liking. My POACHED egg was basically boiled and did not have that “ooze effect” that I always look forward to. The 2 small fritters I received was overpriced as well as the price for a small cup of frothy chai. The service was inadequate and I felt ignored by them. I’m not happy and will not be coming back.
It doesnt matter how far I travel I'll always travel here for a fresh Chai latte. The lattes are the best here. Love this cafe as its was busy but the staff are great and accommodating.

purple rain benedict 👌 eggs benedict on a potato rosti w/ avocado, spinach and bacon topped with beetroot hollandaise 😍 full of flavour and texture. 8/10 for taste and decor. A little bit on the pricey side though ☑
Popular local cafe in Mulgrave, The last piece definitely serves up the goods. On a sunny day, grab a table at the back, where if you are lucky you can watch the hawks train whilst you gobble down your delicious meal. I have been here twice now, once when i was not vegan and recently, and both meals were delicious. On my most recent visit, i had the bircher museli soaked in almond milk and topped with seasonal fruit and a berry couslis. Nothing out of the ordinary, but still satisfying nonetheless!
Greeted warmly. Friendly staff create a great atmosphere. Everything on the menu sounded so good we all had trouble deciding. The 3 of us including a 12 year old, all ordered something different and each one of us really enjoyed our dishes. The Pork dish that I had was amazing!
Can’t wait to try more of the menu.
Will definitely be returning, maybe Brunch next time?
Could this be the best pasta in the eastern suburbs? I wouldn’t be surprised if the vote was a big yes.
Menu was nice and well rounded with some key dishes being absolute stand outs (carbonara, ravioli and gnocchi being my favourite.
I would like to see better service in the future. We had to follow up on almost everything we ordered including a bottle of coke that did not arrive even after the second attempt of following it up, also we waited for the bill for about 15 minutes and the lady said she completely forgot when we asked again. The manager looked more interested in socialising with the customers rather than actually well... managing.
I would be more understanding if it was a full house but it wasn’t.
I will still most likely return because of the quality food but a third visit will most likely be a result of improved service upon the second visit.
Extremely accommodating and friendly staff. Food is fantastic! Always a great experience coming here, never disappointed. Props to Adrian for his attention to detail and great personality.
Amazing selection of brunch dishes and excellent customer service! Great attention to detail on the presentation of their dishes. My friend got the soft shell crab and prawn pasta whilst I ordered the fritters. Both dishes had great flavour and taste - an excellent mixture of ingredients. Will definitely be back soon to try something different!
I love having my Chai here after a workout at the gym. Haven't eaten here in a while but last time I had pasta and it was really good. Great local hangout
So so good! We came here this morning with a big group and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Food and coffees came out quickly. Lots of vegetarian options. My fritters were absolutely delicious. We will be back!!
Came here today for lunch . Delicious food friendly service . We had the big breakfast and the crab linguine, coffee and tea . Love the soft shell crab .
Nice food and love the vibe of this place. Also, customer service skills of all staff is exceptional! They make you feel so welcomed and I couldn’t have asked for a better service 😊
Really yummy food. Lamb shank was really tasty and soft, it was falling off the bone and was lovely to eat. Ordered the porkies 2 pizza which had a really great composition of chewiness and crunch in a thin gourmet base. The taste had a spin where the base was of a sweet fig jam which contrasted nicely with the savoury pork belly. The gnocchi ragu was really rich in its tomato based sauce, but it's slow cooked meat was a little tougher than the lamb shank. Overall, this dish was tasty and really put warmth in the chest. However, the food does take some time to arrive, but is due to the bustling and vibrant environment. The ambience is really nice as it was nice and busy and the lighting and decor created a warm feeling. Would come again.
Ordered carbonara, big breakfast, sweet potato chips, iced mocha and a regular cap. Food came out quickly and food was tasty. Friendly staff, nice location, all day brekkie and great food 💖 Definitely a hidden gem, would come back again for their amazing coffee and food
Went looking for somewhere new to add to our regular restaurant list and was not let down. The venue itself is beautiful and well presented and staff were very friendly and helpful.
For entree we ordered the meatballs which were delicious with the toasted bread. For mains I had the porterhouse steak which was cooked perfectly medium rare and served with flavourful stuffed mushrooms!! My partner had a pizza which he stated was the best he has had in a while.
Thanks guys for a great night and we will be back soon 😊
The food is really good. The vegan tofu scramble in particular is fantastic. The issue is with the service - I’ve been here at least once per month this year and every time there is a long wait for the food or drinks. Every time there have been only one or two harried wait staff on the floor. This means waiting ten minutes to even get the menu, and staff who can’t remember orders and have to come back after 5 minutes to double check what you ordered. On a few occasions the staff have forgotten to enter my drink order only to remember and apologise after 20 minutes. If they hire more staff it’d be much better. That being said, this is still a great place with consistently good food and a nice atmosphere.
Came with friends for dinner. Menu is much bigger than the oakleigh store, lots of yummy options. Ordered arancini balls, polenta chips, and onion rings to share. Arancini balls were a stand out. Lots of flavour, especially with the parmesan. I ordered a pizza from the specials board. Wood fired, and packed with flavour. Meals took a while to come out but maybe just some confusion as we ordered starters. But was more than an hour in between the two courses. But overall great experience.
I’ve been to the Last Piece numerous times and it never fails. They seem to change their menu seasonally which is nice. Today, I had the sweet potato, pumpkin and haloumi fritters and they were delicious!!! Will definitely be back for them!
A place where the pizza lover should go! A restaurant where the Hawks fans chill out after watching the team practice at the oval.
Friendly staff, good food and lovely ambiance. They serve authority wood fire pizza which the dough is sooo unique and delicious! Savory pizza Pokies is always my favorite. If you like pizza dessert, try their Nutella pizza with ample of strawberries on top.
Pastas, fresh juice, seafood, sweet potatoes fries are all very nice at the restaurant, but not the lamb nor salad to me, slightly let me down.
For all is a great restaurant to go!
When we arrived on a Saturday at noon the place was full. We waited between 5 to 10 minutes for a table. The place was understaffed as tables weren’t cleared for awhile and it took awhile to get someone’s attention to order. We ordered the special breakfast which was sweet potato, halumi and chickpea fritters with smoked salmon, poached eggs and avocado smash. The food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering which was great. The fritters were fluffy and crispy and everything complimented each other on the plate. The place is large and contemporary and new so it is a nice place to hang out. The food is good. I will be back to try other things such as their pizza and pasta for lunch.
This restaurant is located in the Waverley Park residential area and is perfect for friends and families. We went here for breakfast and the vibe inside the restaurant was great with plenty of other customers enjoying their time there. We ordered two breakfast dishes which were lovely presented and very yummy. If you love haloumi, we highly recommend adding this as an add on to the benedict!
Great atmosphere, great staff and the food is to die for!!!
Exceptional coffee.
We have dined here probably 6x! Outstanding.
One of our go to places high on the list.
Situated under the old grandstand at Waverley Park is this excellent suburban cafe/restaurant/bar
Service 5/5
Excellent service. Had a sit down lunch with a bunch of workmates, we did not have a booking but they were happy to seat us non fussed. Staff were friendly and skilled
Food 4/5
Good menu, wide variety of options no matter what time you go. Food was delicious, however the bun from my Lebron beef burger was a tiny bit stale but that did not detract from the overall taste at all. There was also a wait between delivery of the burgers and the pizzas which was just enough to be tedious. Otherwise had a lovely lunch
Price 3/5
Slightly overpriced menu. Rent for a restaurant in a heritage building must be high, but I feel like most of the meals could drop a dollar or two
Will definitely return, there were many other things I would love to try on the menu
An absolute gem! Great place for breakfast and dinner. Nice serene setting when sitting out the back room. Visited many times. Lots of great food options... especially the coffee and caramel donuts.
Our usual Saturday brunch place for me and my girlfriend and this place really does deliver! The atmosphere on a Saturday arvo is great with a hustle and bustle vibe, and whilst it seems full of people there always seems to be space for us whenever we go.
The food is excellent as the menu changes every 3-4 months- my usual order is the Purple Rain Hollandaise, purely because I love their smoked salmon! The menu is nicely balanced with vegan and vegetarian options as well as a great selection of refined meat dishes as well for carnivores such as myself.
I would heavily recommend the Purple Rain Hollandaise as its the perfect mix of crisp, freshness with the salmon and filling richness with the poached eggs and hollandaise. The Hangover Burger also delivers everytime!
Located in the Waverley Park residential area, The Last Piece is a Piece of Gem and a wonderful place to have in your neighbourhood. Great food, great coffee, great juices, great menu, great vibe, great crew, great location...you get the picture. It’s always an enjoyable dining experience here which keeps me coming back and spreading the word. The Last Piece is definitely THE place to go to for breakie, brunch, lunch or dinner. Family friendly, it’s also an excellent choice for group bookings and team brunches and lunches. Ample parking in the estate.
However they really should do something about updating their times and menus to reflect current if changes have occurred. Dining choices and decisions are often made from those kinds of details.
I had dinner here with my gf and quite enjoyed it. We were a bit put off initially when we arrived and was told we couldn't order any pizzas, but the pasta we got was quite tasty (my carbonara was great) and the popcorn chicken and onion rings made for a great side.
Myself and a few friends came here the other night and we all enjoyed it. The garlic pizza is very very good! And so are the arancini balls.
Chicken burger bit dry, bit too much sauce, but the flavours still worked well. Probably needed a thicker peice of chicken breast in it.
Beef burger was very good.
Gnocchi was probably the best dish we had on the night, along with the garlic bread. Flavours worked very well.
Friendly staff for a community restaurant. Like their brunch. Tasty food! Easy to find a parking spot.Nice place for Sunday catchup! Will come back!
Amazing service. We went at 11am which is a perfect time as we were able to be seated and served quickly. I had the ‘Kim and Kanye waffles’ which were delicious! In comparison to other waffles I have had they were light and fluffy and were perfectly filling for a brunch meal. The chocolate mousse and icecream were so yummy, they weren’t overpoweringly rich or sweet!
They have a new menu with some new items.
I went here yesterday and I had the avocado smash, it was so flavoursome and I loved the beetroot. My best friend had the nourish bowl and although she said it's a big portion she ate it all. I would come back here again in the future! Also forgot to mention the soy iced coffee was super creamy I loved it
Very busy cafe! A little bit squished inside with tables sat very close together, but when the cafes this good it's needed. Really polite and attentive wait staff who seem to really enjoy their job. Food was delicious, bright and well presented, everything you want from a cafe. Despite it being busy the meals came out quite fast, which surprised me. Pictured is their purple hollandaise eggs benny, which was the perfect size. I included a piece of toast incase it wasn't big enough and trust me I didn't need it! Would 100% revisit!
Great service. Lovely coffee. Seafood linguine had lots of seafood, not just a couple of pieces which you see at many places. LeBron Beef Burger was very tasty with a slight chilli sauce. Delicious. Will be back to try other items on the menu.
Hidden in the picture perfect little pocket of Mulgrave’s Waverley Park estate, The Last Piece is a heavy hitter with what I think, is the best cafe in the area. Their modern, creative, full of flavour & well balanced menu has something for everyone and always leaves you satisfied (even more satisfied if you happen to be having a meal with a view of the Hawthorn FC training - hubba hubba!!!) Oh and the coffee is a winner too! Breakfast, lunch or dinner - The Last Piece is sure to please!

Went here once on the recomendation of a family member. I was so impressed with what i had. Had the fried cauliflower and lamb shoulder. So tasty and trendy tucked away in mulgrave.
Will definitely visit this place.
Hella convenient having such a great breakfast place so close to home!
All day breakfast, get the big boys breakfast! Chicken burger is also delicious, great coffee & Service is fantastic
I've been here more than 4 times and each visit has been great. The service is good and the staff are always friendly! In terms of the food, it depends on what you get but most of the time it's delicious and always aesthetically pleasing! I loved the 'Vincent Chase' smoothie and the Nutella Pizza. The 'Purple Hollondaise' was a bit average & my friend wasn't a fan of the chai latte but I would definitely go back to try some of their other items on the menu!
I have been to the last piece twice. The first time I ordered food from the cabinet, and the experience was just ok. The second time, however, I ordered from their proper menu. The experience was much better and pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful. I wouldn't mind going back again.
Amazing Pepperoni Pizza. Amazing pan fried gnocchi with wild mushrooms. Very authentic. I'd definitely be back next time I am in the area 👍👍
Latte is good everytime! Woodfired pizzas are also delish. Great local spot in a well-known estate.
SERVICE: 4/5
I've been coming here for years even when it was Stadium Cafe. The service has always been fast and friendly. It is consistent everytime and you can tell they're a well-oiled machine here.
FOOD: 4/5
Their menus do change and the specials board always feature some goodies. Coffees and pizzas are consistently good here. I usually prefer the lunch dishes over the brekkie-type options.
DECOR & AMBIENCE: 4/5
Bright and airy with plenty of seating space. Outdoor area at the back overlooks the footy oval and there is also an upstairs area for private functions.
KID FRIENDLY: Yes
I can't believe I haven't reviewed here I've literally been here so many times coz it's close to work! Place is great, good for a coffee hangout. The chai sometimes isn't great tho, I find depending who makes it!
A spacious and busy cafe by day, and pizza/ Italian stye restaurant by night. Staff were very nice and friendly!
1 - We had the Breakfast Board (poached egg with feta, smashed pumpkin on toast, a beetroot relish on a zucchini fritter, chia and coconut pudding, and a glass of fresh OJ).
2- We also had the chicken burger which had soooo much filling inside, it was falling apart. Generous amount of chips and a bit too much aioli sauce inside the burger.
3- Also ordered a Matcha Latte but it tasted more like a Chai latte and very very sweet.

Great place to entertain a large group of friends! I had my dads 60th at last piece and the service and food was amazing! They gave us a private area which is perfect to have a party/dinner. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Most importantly food was good! My recommendations would be the Lamb Shoulder, Carbonara, Pizza's ( Nutella, porkies, Lamb Re), sweet potato fries and the calamari fritti.
Thanks for a wonderful evening ' last piece'! Will be back soon!
Really nice cafe! The food here is yummy! I had the chicken burger and sweet potato chips! And a beetroot drink called 'beets by dre' haha! (I bought it just cos of the name :D). My friend sheryl who took me here said that everything here is yum! My food was delicious! Back window of the cafe overlooks the football oval that the hawthorn football club train at! Pretty cool!
The staff were really nice! And they have hawthorn gingerbread men! I bought one even though i go for Richmond :)
Have been here a dozen times now. The food is stunning and the atmosphere is buzzing.
The staff seem really busy and they could use a little more help.
The food is worth it. Great coffee too.
Been here numerous times and it's always great. Good food, friendly service and nice atmosphere. They have a really good selection of juices/smoothies as well, which is nice. Being a big footy fan, it's also pretty awesome going on a Hawthorn training day and watching them on the track. Will be sad once they pack up and leave, but wouldn't stop me from coming here.
The cafe is modern designed. I ordered barramundi. The food is ver fresh and well presented. The dessert is too sweet for me. It's ok to have a causal lunch.
I was really surprised about this place. The zomato menus are old and they have upgraded their menu. I ordered the special on the board. Salmon with mash potato and broccolini and scallops and my friend ordered the smash avocado with grilled haloumi! It was amazing. Could not fault the salmon. Seasoned well. Cooked to perfection and amazing taste of scallops. Everything worked together. My friends avocado she said was nice but needed more seasoning. Even salt would have made the dish better. We ordered chips too. Nice overall. Pretty pricey but I enjoyed it.
Love coming here! The food is always consistently delicious, the coffee is amazing and the staff are always so warm and welcoming. Definitely one of my fav breaky places! Thanks for having us.
Lovely brunch spot! The waiters were all lovely, attentive and smiley despite the busy rush on a Sunday Morning! The last piece has a great range of healthy breakfast items, salads, lunch classics and some killer pizzas! Will definitely have to come back for dinner! Cudos to the chef on nailing the poached eggs!
We came here for brunch on Labour Day and the food was great. Service was efficient and the food came put quickly. The sweet potato fries were great, lightly fried and yummy. There must've been at least a 15% surcharge or something though since the bill ended up being quite a bit more than the prices on the menu. I would still come back though as the food was good.
The Last Piece had come a long way since it's early days, and especially since it's days under the 'Stadium' banner, when Waverley Park started to spring up houses. It has now become a fully fledged modern cafe boasting a proper brunch menu and appropriate decor. It was always popular with the locals, because let's face it, there's nothing else in Waverley Park or even nearby as you exit the area. But now popularity has increased as it now fits the bill of a trendy cafe suited to the demographic of the upmarket residential area. My food experience was pretty soso actually. They put up a TLP hollandaise which was a bit boring and pretty bland. The hollandaise itself wasn't thick enough and lacked a lot of character, while the spinach and asparagus were basically just steamed and probably lightly sautéed. Healthy, but nothing to make it both healthy and any sort of standout. My mum's chili scrambled eggs were a much tastier affair, with a decent spark of spiciness from the red peppers. The Parmesan and spring onion lifted the flavour even more. The service was great and the decor has been updated a bit and looks good. Not my go to place by any means, but a little oasis in the area.
I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at The Last Piece - so much class! The utilisation of space was perfect. I love how they have made such a large, spacious area still feel intimate, comfortable and QUIET! There was also heaps of natural light giving the restaurant a relaxing vibe. I ordered the smashed avo dish. It was not bad! I really enjoyed the olive tapenade and olive toast which made the dish different to what would have otherwise been a pretty standard smashed avo. The saltiness for the olives went awesomely with the avo! The staff were also phenomenal, it was quite busy but we were greeted straight away. The service was speedy and overall the staff made us feel comfortable, they seemed like genuine nice people who loved their jobs! Reasonable prices, will be back to try some of the lunch menu :-)
The first thing i noticed about this place is the great young, family orientated/neighbourhood friendly vibe. The cafe itself overlooks the footy oval so on a nice sunny day, it's a great view sitting outside. Staff are also very young and hip, great customer service and prompt. The menu itself is simple but caters to a variety of dietary needs with fresh ingredients. Good, clean flavours with appropriate portion sizes. My partner and i enjoyed our meals, and their almond coffee was satisfying. This is close to our neighbourhood, so I think we will come back soon!!
To start, the people who served us were extremely nice, the food took a while to come out to the table, but the wait was definitely worth it. I ordered the quinoa salad and it was delicious :)
Never had a bad meal and never experienced poor service. For a local cafe/restaurant, its a pleasant place to visit. Hubby and I have had a few dinners here where the pizza has been great. What you would expect from an Italian restaurant.
I have also been here for brunch and recommend the breakfast bruschetta! Big portions for what you pay so it's worth it. Just the other day I came for lunch and the burger was also satisfying.
