We often order special fried rice and dumplings for delivery. Particularly enjoy their steamed pork dumplings and fried chicken and prawn. Always hot and tasty. This is definitely our favorite place for dumplings in the South East areaπ
I am glad I popped in rather than heading to Kebab Joint which was my original destination. Have stayed away from No1 for various reasons. Tried their sliced fish with ginger and loved it. Price is very reasonable. You get a drink if you pay in cash. Will definitely pop by again.
This is our go to dumpling joint in the Mulgrave and clayton area. The pork dumplings are the best. The beef in chilli oil is also great. The owners are friendly and although the shop is small and basic, it's the perfect quick drive by dumpling house.
Ordered the pan fried pork dumplings from here 5 times, all five times they were absolutely delicious and the best dumplins I've ever had.Β Last time we tried the shanghi mini pork buns and my partner and I almost fought over who got the last one.Β Nice serving sizes (one container of dumplings can satisfy one person), items are delivered quickly (I order through ubereats) and usually come before the original expected time!
I'm scared to try any other local dumpling places in case they're not as good!
Had a late night craving for dumplings and we drove past this place so decided to stop by. Staff were great, they let us order even though they were closed. Chicken and prawn dumplings were tasty. Smaller size than a lot of places though. Definitely would come back if driving past again.
Hidden away on a modest corner strip of shops reveals a gem of Asian delights, their signature dish are dumplings. Surprised at the popularity of this place for take away, their dumplings are at a generous size that is juicy and well cooked. Peeking into the kitchen, busy staff are filling and folding the dumplings in the background, as the friendly staff serve customers. It's ambiance is very basic and casual and their orders arrive quite quickly.
Fantastic food, great value for money, dumplings are recommended and more suitable for takeaway or a quick cheap and cheerful dine-in feed.
FOOD: 5/5
The menu is extensive and I haven't really had anything I didn't like.
The usual dishes I would get are:
- steamed beef dumplings (super tasty and juicy)
- steamed/fried chicken & prawn dumplings
- Shanghai fried noodles (tasty and glistening with oil π)
Have also tried and enjoyed:
- Vegetable fried rice
- Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce
- Singapore noodles
- Sweet and sour chicken with rice
- Honey chicken with rice
The beef dumplings are probably what I come back here for as not everywhere else has this or is as tasty. Dunk in the chilli oil and soy/vinegar sauce and happy as Larry!
SERVICE: 4/5
Nothing extraordinary but I commend them for keeping their cool and doing well to get the food out and correct all the time despite being absolutely off their feet at lunch times and peak dinner times.
They may take just a tad longer than estimated but you can help them out by ordering a little earlier (if picking up) or if dining in I suggest to call ahead to reserve a table and pre-order food to be ready by time of arrival. These tips usually do the job and I don't generally have to wait long.
Large orders also get a free large soft drink which is a nice bonus.
DECOR & AMBIENCE: 2.5/5
It's really a takeaway shop so I appreciate that they've placed a handful of tables there for people to dine in. Definitely basic set-up though and not overly clean but it does the job for a quick feed. Recommended to reserve a table if dining in.
KID FRIENDLY: No, limited space indoors and generally popular with local workers or people wanting a quick feed.
Great food. I only wish theyβd stay open a bit longer. But almost every item on the menu is pretty good. I recommend their fish items and the pork belly.
Many people rated this place poorly on Zomato, but google reviews rates they much more positively. Having grown up eating dumplings from bobs kitchen, dumpling empire, JG dumping (before they shut down), pings dumplings, and David and camyβs, I believe I would be a good judge of dumpling quality.
We ordered 5 serves of pan fried pork dumplings and 1 order of steamed pork dumplings on menu log to pick up, more than an hour before the pickup time. When I had arrived, the people looked busy scrambling around, but had our order ready on time.
The quality of the dumplings are great. The pan fried was crispy and tasty, and all others who ate the dumplings have very positive feedback. They are no way near as oily as pings, and taste just as good. All of the aforementioned dumpling restaurants have quality dumplings that would warrant return customers time and time again, and Iβll be happy to add this one to the list.
A total gem of a find in Mulgrave. Exceptionally fresh and absolutely delicious. The pork dumplings were sensational as were the chicken and prawn. Singapore noodles were spot on too. This will definitely be a go to.
Favourite dumplings ever ! Such good value for money and staff are lovely :) would highly recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area. Also have tried their other dishes which have been just as amazing !!!
Best dumplings in the area ! 15 quality dumplings for $10 you cant go wrong with that. Pork belly was amazing too. Staff were also friendly deffs coming back.
Me and my friend really enjoyed the dumplings. It tasted homemade, authentic and was a bargain. There is also nice deals, as we got 2 pieces of chicken wings for free.
It is a restuarant where I will visit again in the future.
Definitely will bring my girlfriend here next time (when I get one :'(
The best dumplings in Mulgrave, fresh and juicy inside. Clearly homemade not frozen Dumpling. Also they are doing new dishes, plenty car park in front of restaurant
One of the best dumpling places you find in the area freshly steamed dumplings that has loose filling not this lumped. Meat ball that most average dumpling places has. Great food and not exspensive. Must try
The shop doesn't look like much from the outside but you'll find it serves some pretty good dumplings. It does get busy during lunch but it's worth the wait if your craving some dumps! The noodle and rice dishes are also pretty tasty and the serving sizes are generous, we ended up taking a doggy bag home as we couldn't finish it all. Service is friendly though a bit slow.
Great food and perfect customer care. Home made Steam beef dumpling is my favourite of all time.
Very busy dine in or takeaway restaurant. If in rush, good to phone the order in, so that there is not so much waiting.Food is amazing.Everything on the menu,is so tasty.I really recommend the Satay chicken, fried noodles with beef is do nice too.I think you could order something from the menu. That you really didn't feel like eating. And it would taste like heaven.Highly recommend the food at this restaurant.Love everything on the menu.High regards to the chef .πππππππππππππ
Totally underrated. The owner guy is super friendly and accommodating. Obviously not your your cheapest joint out there but they're doing their food properly, safely, and in good quality. Have came back many times for them.
How did I not know about this place until now, especially living only 5 min drive away π
Got myself some homemade steamed chicken and prawn dumplings and entree fried chicken wings for dinner last night. The flavours were amazing! Everything was so well balanced and full of flavour. The accompanying chilli sauce was delish π I can't wait to try more of their dishes. Super reasonable prices, a totally hidden gem!
The chicken and corn soup from here is very flavoured and yummy I always get this when I am sick
