My husband's family mostly reside now in WA Australia, especially my mother in law. Needless to say, we have an almost yearly outing or visit. Most times, the Dome seems to provide a break over the journey to York and back. They have outlets all over that we have also used whenever. We have enjoyed that it offers breakfast, lunch, dinner... there is something for everyone to order, whatever gustatory needs they have.
Saturday morning ride on the bike and a pit stop a this dome which was really good.. Good coffee
Food Was Lovely But Left With A Bad Taste In Our Mouths. I can't tell you how much I enjoy going to Dome for breaky for my Eggs Benedict Deluxe and there was no better time than the present when New Years Day came around, after a great night out. A big breaky to soak up some of the booze from the night before and set myself up with some energy to push through the day.. Hopefully..
Dome was one of two cafe's open that morning with it being New Years Day and all, who could blame them for taking a day off but we had looked for something a little different for our taste buds to sample but Dome is always a great go to and is quite consistent for quality and service and we settled on breaky there after considering another cafe across the road. I suppose that's a part of the lure of a franchise venue in that you generally know what you're getting.
We were surprised to be able to walk straight in and grab a seat and because we're regulars I knew exactly what I wanted. I ordered my Eggs Benedict Deluxe or as Dome call it Salmon Eggs Hollandaise but I add bacon, hash browns and baked beans and occasionally with mushrooms to boot. We were served extremely promptly to my amazement and I can't think of a time where we'd received our meal so quickly in the bazillion times that we've been to Dome but usually the Dome's we attend are a fair bit busier, perhaps our experience is just a slice of what happens there quite often.
The lady set our plates down on the table and soon after that she ruined our experience for us. My girlfriend also enjoys Dome's Eggs Hollandaise but prefers it with just the ham and hash browns but always likes a little extra sauce, so all the goodness of the gooeyness of the eggs combined and complimented by the creamy Hollandaise doesn't go to waste and is mopped up with the ample amount of bread. As the lady set down our plate my girlfriend asked, "Can I please have some extra sauce?" and this is what left the bad taste in our mouths.. The lady then enquired as to what sauce she was referring to. A little puzzled as it was the only sauce on the plate my girlfriend pointed to the Hollandaise sauce and that's when she replied, "No, that's all you get! If you want more you're going to have to pay!"
No biggy with the picking up what extra sauce we were referring to, I guess she could have confused it with any other condiments that they had there. My gripe was out of every other Dome we've been to, this is the first time that we've ever been denied extra sauce or worse after just spending $50 plus between the two of us we had to pay for extra sauce that was already quite a stingey serving. My serving of sauce was good (refer to pic) and was enough to see me through to mop up all the goodness but my girlfriend was disappointed, as she not only was scrooged on the sauce but was declined to have any more and we couldn't swap plates because she doesn't like salmon. We were both going to interject and appeal to the lady for the amount of sauce served but "that is all you get" was rude enough to prompt us not to ask further as it would have been futile.
Regardless of the less than impressive service, the food was excellent and met the usual Dome standards. However I'd recommend Midland instead as they never had a problem serving us extra sauce nor has my regular temptations for Eggs Benedict Deluxe at Pinjarra, Cockburn, Canning Vale, Warwick or Armadale or perhaps find another quaint cafe to sample on a day that isn't a public holiday and see if you can find another gem before coming back to Dome to see if they've lifted their game. Again.. I loved the food, it was superb but the service left a lot to be desired.
Dome Mundaring is one of our regulars! Staff are always pleasant. The cafe is always clean. Service is quick. Food and drinks are of a high standard. This cafe was probably the best thing thats happened to our town!
The eggs were slightly over cooked but it could be because it's hot today and the hollandaise sauce got stuck in my moustache.
Breaky wrap was not bad- coffee a little burnt- as I went to sit outside there was a staff member having a sleep outside on the floor.....
First time trying Dome for 5 years being in Australia and was surprised by the service, and food. The interior is beautiful and very retro which I really like. Would recommend for a relaxing lunch here:).
Great location, fantastic coffee, great 4 anytime morning through to evening. Fantastic menu selection. Seating indoor/outdoors. Great staff service. Relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit anytime.
We came to Dome for lunch as it caters for everyone's preferences. Food was great. My husband fainted due to blood pressure issues and hit his head. The staff and patrons were amazing they took care of our two young children until a friend came to collect them and they admonistered first aid to my husband while waiting for the ambulance. The dinner staff made sure we were all well taken care of and asked us if they're was anything more we needed. We are so grateful to them all.
Dome always does the avocado smash really well. I had mine with poached eggs and salmon. Very delicious and friendly service too.
Typical Dome. Always reliable to serve good coffee and a variety of food.
All day breakfast was much appreciated at 3pm!!
Hubby and I always pop into the Dome here before heading home to Kalgoorlie. Lovely atmosphere and the workers always have a smile on their faces to welcome you
