Unexpectedly turned up at Nature Boy today for Mother's Day as another local cafe didn't have a table for us despite having booked one. Even though they were tremendously busy not only did we immediately get a table at Nature Boy without fuss but were very well looked after. Great food, huge place, excellent play area for the kiddies and warm and friendly staff. Looking forward to going back and cannot praise them enough. Thank you for making our day special after a disappointing start Nature Boy!! �
Wanted somewhere new for brunch; googles “brunch in Murrumbeena” and chose Nature Boy. Wow!! Great service, staff are attentive and friendly, lovely food (menu has some unusual offerings) and very nice coffee.

Great find :) you would never realise how far back it goes just entering from the front of the cafe but there are over four sections including a kids play area that is parent heaven. The coffee I had tasted and looked amazing aswell as the smash avo and very friendly staff

This is one of the best cafes I have ever been to! We had our daughter's 1st birthday here and everything about the day was perfect! My guests and I were so impressed with Martina and her team's amazing service! So warm and attentive! And the food was just delicious. Thank you so much for giving us the best party for our little girl! We will definitely be back for one of those incredible "face" coffees!! ��
My Dad & I found this place by accident this morning. It was great coffee & the food looked amazing (we will go for lunch next time). We were both blown away by how every staff member was so friendly & all asked if we were ok despite how busy they were & despite one of the ladies having just been abused by a customer over something out of her control (having said that, it is never ok to abuse staff). I will be back & will tell everyone how great it is! Thank you everyone who works there - you are all awesome!!
The staff, the coffee, the food and the set up make this cafe one of the best around. There are 3 seperate areas that suit adults, people with dogs and an amazing space for families with young kids. Would happy travel to go there �

Found this gem! Love that there is an enclosed back area for young kids to play in. Tables nearby for parents to watch over them. Loads of space inside as well. Service attentive and quick. To trial food. Drinks were perfect.
A nice little cafe on Neerim road in murrumbeena, they have a good selection on menu items for breakfast and a small lunch menu as well, I tried the breakfast had eggs with hollandaise sauce and salmon it was really good, need to go again to try the other things on the menu
I live locally and I've been here several time with friends and family. It's always a great experience. Beautiful rustic interior and good food. It's our No. 1 cafe in the area.
Made a last minute decision to come here, and I’m so glad we did. Whilst it doesn’t seem like it from the shop entrance, the place is mammoth in size where the limited seating in the front opens up to a whole new dining area at the back, and even a courtyard with a cubby house for the younger ones to enjoy.
For food, I went with the mushroom and hummus, which were presented as the base of the dish, whilst 2 pieces of fluffy pastries lay on top along with a perfectly cooked poached egg and plenty of avo on the side. A satisfying and filling meal along with my iced mocha.
My partners’ chicken schnitzel burger was loaded with delicious ingredients including bacon, herb crumbled chicken, aioli and coleslaw. Nothing to fault, and the chips that came with it with crispy and fresh.
Best coffee in Melbourne! It is what we will come back for. We also had the mushrooms & hummus which puff pastry which was something different & interesting. The chicken wrap was ok, not a good looker but tasty.
I highly recommend this place if you have any kids or a together that includes kids. The coffee and food was spectacular. I tried the mushrooms and hummus which was delicious. Their freshly squeezed oj is pretty good too. They have plenty of space out the back and a kids play area outside.
Friendly service. Coffee was lovely. Made well, a little coffee art on top. Food ... generous serves, presented well. Have a look at the images!! I had the poached egg, avo, fetta hummus,mushroom,picked monstrosity. It was delicious and felt nutritious. Bubs enjoyed the puff pastry that came with it. Best bit is of course that they are totally kid friendly. I mean a lot of cafes are... but Nature Boy has a huge outdoor cubby house with toys and cars for kids to play as well as colouring in Textas and pens for little ones. Will be back
Nature Boy was such a great place for family and friends with young children. I had the Special which was a creamy polenta with mushrooms and eggs - I had a chorizo added on to this already mouth watering dish :p. With a little bit more cheese, the polenta would have been perfect.
Nature Boy serve an extremly good blend of coffee the old owner is still making is exceptional coffee art, the food is still really good.
The only things miss is the old vibrant italian/middle east vibe which it use the make the place more alive!
Nature Boy is the place to head with your little ones in the South. There is even a play area and little cubby house at the back of the cafe - perfect! There are some yummy vegetarian and gluten free options on the menu too. As if that isn't enough, there are plenty of playgrounds in the area to choose from once you have finished your meal - see below for details. @plantbasedmum_
Perfect outing for eating out with young children. Menu is modern and meals look desirable. Waiting staff are exceptional, friendly and patient. Excellent service and did not wait long for our meals. Cannot negatively critic this place and will return again.
Nature Boy is a cafe that caters for families and children. The harder workers in this eating place have a lot of walking to make sure all customers are happy.
They succeed in this task being extremely engaging in all the correct ways.

The rear of this address has a kindergarten atmosphere with parents / grandparents and children having major fun dodging toy cars, toy motor bikes and mowers. FUN and GAMES with food on the side.
Our only disappointment was that Christopher decided to buy a takeaway coconut flavoured muffin shaped cake.
It looked good however was well passed its sell by date. It was tough and dry.
These things need to be watched.
This venue had more positives and is easily a winner with the toddlers to four year olds with cookies with favourite colours to pick.
Cafe has a warm family and very kid friendly vibe. I love how they have made itthe place very fitted to young mothers and their young children for catch ups or for just a nice place to leave the house for.
The staff are very friendly, witty and not afraid to show their style and personalities. They were very helpful and seemed like they enjoyed what they do.

I went to Nature Boy because the other two cafes would close at 3pm, while this one stays open till 4.30pm. Coffee and food both 3.5. The rosti was a bit too burnt. Eggs on toast done quite OK.

A friend booked this cafe on Sunday afternoon for a private function. The cafe is family friendly with nice backyard with kids house to play. Staff are friendly and make you feel like home. The coffee was spot on and love the coffee arts, the barista sure had a good sense of humour. I didn’t have much to eat, just some nibbles as I was still full from lunch. The toilet is also children friendly too! This is a perfect place for Sunday brunch for a young family .
Wonderful experience. Came here to have brekky and the food was delicious! Very generous servings and coffee was amazing. I’m very picky with my coffee and what I got was just perfect.
There is an outside play area for the kids and is a great place for families, but you also won’t be bothered by them if you just wanted to sit and chat and have good food and drinks.

Had lunch here today and ordered the soba noodles salad, highly recommend this place. Very decent pricing and staff were very friendly. Outdoor play area for kids looked great too

Cannot fault this place. Had a great catch up with my girlfriends and their babies. Coffee was the best coffee I've had. French toast with the Dark Choc Panna Cotta was delicious. And the staff were just amazing.

Food is fantastic with a great menu selection. Food standard has gone slightly down over the last few months but still excellent.
Staff are very helpful and nice.

Really enjoyed! I went with my small dog, outside seat on the street was in the shade, so I asked if we can sit backyard seat. They welcomed us and allowed me to walked pass the shop! We took seats nice and warm middle area (covered but outside), all staff are very friendly. Coffee was great. I prefer bit warmer but that's my preference I think.
We ordered burger and soy honey chicken. Big recommendation on beef burger!
I can see there is child play area in the backyard as well. But it's separate area so I didn't hear any noise, I think it's nice place to have coffee break for busy parents too!

Really like this cafe. The service is really friendly. Food is fabulous and coffee is also great.
A great spot if you have kids as out the back their is a cubby house with lots of toys available. But be warned that often there are lots of kids crying and running around if you get there early morning.
Great menu with a lot of different options instead of just egg, egg, egg. Staff were friendly, prices reasonable, and some interesting twists on food. I got the hummus pastry which I haven't seen before in a cafe and it was filling, good mixture of ingredients.
What a pleasure it is to visit Natureboy! Let's start with the coffee...Amazing. The food.... delicious, interesting and quality ingredients..... And then there is the Soy chai latte..... the best I've ever had.

Loved loved loved this place. I got the smashed avo and bbz got the mushroom and hummus. So good, 10/10 would recommend.
Serving sizes are massive; the photos DO NOT do this place justice. The smashed avo had two giant slices of toast underneath a giant pile of avo - which looked like one and a half to two avos worth. The mushroom and hummus with pastry was delicious, and serving size was so big, bbz had to give up (not a decision made lightly for either of us). It's just a never ending pile of deliciousness.
The coffee was 👌 and the soy chai was beautiful. The service was pretty great, too.
All around just an incredibly good experience in an excellent cafe.
Bbz and I don't often decide to return places (our philosophy is to only try new places), but this is somewhere we'll be returning fairly soon. Thank you for the beautiful brunch.
So many positives here:
The food is consistently very good, probably because the menu is small, but that's not a bad thing at all! Everything looks and tastes fresh and interesting. Our family particularly enjoys the smashed avo, Nutella pancakes and anything with chorizo.
The venue is very clean and relaxed. We like the decor and the courtyards have plenty of seating to balance the indoor tables. It's nice.
The only thing that stops us giving a full 5.0 is some of the wait staff can look a bit sloppy and apathetic.
Definitely worth a visit for breakfast, coffees, and "something lunchy" ;)
Great for the kids.. plenty of room out the back. Kids menu is also great! Food was yummy...Service was a little disjointed and it took about 25mins for my friends toast to arrive. Overall it was good and we will be back!
Excellent trendy cafe in a relaxed setting out in the burbs. I had the Spanish breakfast: scrambled eggs with chorizo and paprika potatoes. Chai tea was nice and strong. Large area out the back for kids; dog friendly. Very hospitable service. Their sister cafe is Mountain of Bears a short drive away in Ormond.
Great play area for kids out the back. The menu is good with lots of kids options. The room outback has high ceilings and can be a it loud. Coffee is good.
Tasty food, polite and efficient staff. I found it expensive for a family of 4, limited meals for the older kids age range. We ate outside near the play area which has the usual oversupply of worn out plastic toys.
Great for kids if it's nice weather! Food is okay... You won't leave hungry but won't leave raving about it being scrumptious. Very spacious with lots of little areas for you to choose from. It's my local coffee shop and coffee is drinkable. Again, nothing great. The ambience is great though. The outside play area for kids is pretty great.
Excellent addition to The Beena area, this café is spacious and kid friendly. On this occasion The Dear Luncher was sans kids so a quick lunch was on the cards. The Nature Boy Burger was solid for a café burger and Your Dear Luncher would happily have it again.

The very first 5/5 rating goes to Nature Boy - they thoroughly deserve it! With three different outdoor areas (front, middle section, and back alfresco area which is a good option for families with a cubby house play area), this place just nails it. The Mushroom and Hummus dish was phenomenal, served with puff pastry, smashed avo, goat cheese, and a perfectly cooked poached egg. The Spanish Breaky was delicious - eggs were flavoured with paprika and the chorizo was an excellent addition. Coffee was spot on, AND the big winner is they're dog friendly! Our little fluff ball Ella has a lovely time. The only suggestion would be to add another vegetarian option to the lunch menu. What a find!
Came in a group of 5. We did wait a bit for our food . Really busy and packed today . The food was quite good . I had a French toast , love the cooked pear and the custard . My husband had burger which was juicy and yum too. Can't rate the service cause it was really busy today . A very kids friendly cafe ;)
Attended today for a lazy brunch with friends in this miserable Melbourne weather. Not only did their coffee warm our cold frosty hands but their dishes filled the empty , lonely void in the pit of our souls!!! Four hours later we floated out of the cafe to our cars. Great prices and great staff.

We entered the front door into a lovely small space (but not tiny) and were greeted warmly with a smile and an offer to go into the back area as it was warmer. Wow, how fabulous! What lovely ambience.
The cafe filled up and the staff remained attentive and friendly.
We ordered the Eggs Benedict which was by no means your normal eggs benedict!!! To a poached egg, add an asian slaw, smoked ham, cheese, hollandaise and snow pea sprouts on sourdough - Yum!!! What a great choice!

My sister directed me to try this new establishment. After a short run we walked through the door. My sister took control and said we wanted to go to the back, we passed a beautiful "indoor/outdoor" section and then walked into what felt like a homestead. I loved this setting. The coffee was great. Our meals were also impressive. I had the chorizo brekky which was scrambled eggs with chorizo plus some extras. Loved the chorizo and also the goats cheese, bread was also incredibly crunchy and tasty. My sis had the mushroom and hommus which also were delicious after having a taste. Loved the setting here, especially with the pinball machine backings on the wall. Definitely venture here if in or out of the area.
First time visit and was truly amazed, had no idea the rear cafe dining area existed... A hidden gem. Tasty coffee and huge Spanish breakfast were delightfully presented and tasted sensational. Better half enjoyed the smashed avocado and mushroom ..will definitely return.👍

This place is very kid-friendly and everyone is so very genuinely accommodating. Food is great too and not oily. We ordered the burger, pulled lamb and schnitzel....all very delicious. Coffee is not bad. Food is quite special, I tried this dish with puff pastry, poached eggs, avocado, mushroom and hummus. The flavours work quite well. The hummus tastes the best I've ever had. Eggs Benedict and beef burger was great too! Will become one of our more regular brunch place!
Nature Boy is a great new addition to the Murrumbeena cafe scene. Deceptively large in size with a unique menu this cafe offers a trendy venue suitable for a range of locals including families. I ordered the challah french toast with white chocolate mascarpone, over roasted peaches and toasted coconut flakes. Portion size was great and the white chocolate mascarpone was delicious without being sickeningly sweet. My only comment is that the peaches were a tad hard so probably could have done with being roasted a bit longer. Otherwise a very tasty and well balanced dish.
Good sized outdoor area to let the kids roam. Food was a bit bland. Nothing wrong with the food, just not great. There are a lot of options in the area as well.. After a second visit yesterday, have changed my mind about this place. Food and coffee both really good. Eggs Benedict on brioche bun with Asian slaw was a bit different but really nice & my partner said the French toast was probably the best she has eaten. 👍🏼

For the past few months, I have been dwelling in the comfort of familiarity, revisiting old favourites like Cafe Carpenter and Nuts Chan. Last week, I decided it was time to break out of my shell and start exploring again. An early Sunday breakfast at Nature Boy in Murrumbeena seemed like the perfect way to kickstart this delicious habit once again.
I would never have found this place if a friend hadn't recommended it....in fact I would have walked right past because the front seating area looks a bit ordinary. Take a walk down the passage to the back section and you'll be so pleased you did!
The staff were all so friendly and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. I was with my elderly mum, who was on a walker. The diners were a mix of retirees, young mums and young couples and the menu was great. We had the honey soy marinated chicken hoagie and my mum added a side of mushrooms. The flavours were to die for and the coffee art was amazing. I have been happily recommending Nature Boy ever since. Thank goodness we finally have a little gem like Nature Boy just around the corner. (I see a florist is opening a few doors up and the new butcher shop just opened, so this sad little shopping centre in Neerim Road is finally having some life injected into it).
The newest cafe in Murrumbeena that's worth a try.. The staff are friendly and the food is good at their prices! Great for families with kids who can hang out in the backyard and play in the cubby house.

Had such an awesome breakfast! That ham hock was super delicious and I am not a pea lover but that pea puree was so good. I'm also a little fussy about coffee as I don't drink it often so when I do it has to be good and this one was great! And the prices were such a pleasant surprise! Definitely will return again

Great cafe with a great big backyard and cubby house for parents with kids. The food options are good for breakfast and lunch with plenty to choose from, The fresh juice options are also fantastic! It would be good if they had a few dessert options also, otherwise nice cafe.
Murrumbeena had been crying out for a great cafe, and here it is at last! A huge airy space that extends the length of the building, outdoor areas, good coffee, interesting breakfast options, a liquor licence, and soon they'll be open for dinners too!!

Nature boy has a homely 3 stage layout with play area for kids and section for the doggies. Great stop for breakfast or lunch for families heading to the beach!
Theres an emphasis on fresh wholesome food, you can see, smell and taste it.
We tried the shakshuka (egg), burger, and avo smash. All were great, the burger pattie was melt in your mouth.

Had brunch this morning with a group of friends & our collective tribe of children. So impressed!!! Food was delicious & servings generous. I had the granola with yoghurt panna cotta & strawberries & mango. SOOO good! Coffee was also great. Service was very attentive & friendly. Kids had fun in the backyard with the cubby house. Definitely will return & bring more friends!

Great service. I had the beef burger on a brioche bun, served with very think chips, a more substantial chip would be tastier. The burger was sensational, caramelised onions and bacon provided the perfect combination. Coffee wasn't bad either. Sitting in the shed area is very noisy, sometimes hard to hear people next to you. But, even so I would go there again.

The owners sure know how to provide the package - I used to be a regular at their cafe in Elsternwick & now they've become a welcome local.
Also a great cafe for those with kids as cubby house in the back however there are also a few more private , sunny nooks too. (Don't be deceived by the frontage of the cafe - it's a long way to the back).
Owner & staff welcome feedback and happy to please - a rarity for cafes of this caliber that charge a lot more.
Second time for breakfast! Why is this place rated 2.9??? My wife and I enjoyed the excellent food,service and ambience again! Highly recommended over the lackadaisical service at that other local cafe.
It takes a lot to stand out as a cafe in this city these days, simply because there are so many of them popping up that talk-the-talk but don't deliver. Nature Boy is an exception because it is simply genuine. Firstly, walking in, the interior is light filled, fresh and inviting with multiple outdoor areas, the menu is generous, you can tell they made a huge effort to keep everything under $15 but somehow kept it original and exciting. I could've chosen anything, but my last second decision was the ham hock, poached egg, pea and mint purée breaky which was seriously amazing. The coffee was too. The staff were bright and happy, I honestly can't fault it. Big call... but this is the best cafe in the Murrembeena / Carnegie / Chadstone / Malvern area.
Nature Boy is the latest cool cafe to pop up in the area. It is very unassuming from the outside (there's not even a sign) however the place is actually quite massive and looks great inside. I found the wait staff to be very attentive which added to the experience.
What a phenomenal surprise it was dininig at Nature Boy cafe, which has opened up over the road from Murrumbeena Train Station.
As you snake your way through the three seperated dining areas, and past the beautiful scents eminating from the kitchen, you make your way out the back to a beautiful courtyard which features an extra large children's cubby house and grass area for the kids to play.
The food was delicious, the servings, boarding on excessive!

A new cafe had opened in Murrumbeena. It's an amazing space! The front section is a small space with plenty of natural light.
The brunch was amazing and coffee was good, so was the decor, the service and the feel of the place.
I recommend checking it out. Especially if you're a local keen to support local businesses.
Fantastic kid friendly cafe that just opened in Murrumbeena! Deceptively large when you walk through to the back. The outside space is perfect for kids with grass to play on and huge cubby house with blackboard, play kitchen and toys. Coffee is good, also have a small kids menu, and serve alcohol as well. Would be lovely place to have a relaxing wine in the afternoon!

good. As I was waiting for my coffee the very friendly and polite waitress at the front took me down the back to there hidden jem ,a great area out back for family and friends to sit and eat. I highly recommend it and will be back to try the food. If it's as good as their staff and coffee I'm hooked.
By far the best coffee and food ive taste in a long time. Was in there today i cant belive this place is only two weeks old as it was so busy there today. As a local in Murrumbeena, I was very excited for this cafe to open. As I was about to write my review, I noticed the negative review posted before me. I was at the cafe today and I am confused as the red haired girl was very friendly towards me and I could say the same about the wonderful barista who made my flat white. Perhaps it was just an extremely busy day, but I know I'll definitely be back for the coffee and lovely service.
Fantastic food & coffee. The wait staff took time to write down my specific requests and the kitchen got it perfectly right. Great environment for families and non-families - plenty of open space inside & awesome grassed area out the back for the kids. Highly recommend!
