TAO’S CHICKEN LAKSA
Being from Malaysia originally the sauce didn’t really feel like Malaysian laksa but nonetheless it was still good. The serving portion is super generous! This comes with eggs and tofu and two different types of noodles I believe (eg and rice) the chicken comes in slices although I was expecting pieces but it was still good. Overall I would give this a 7/10
TERIYAKI CHICKEN 🍗
this was the prize winner for us! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! FULL of flavour! The skin was crispy and the chicken was just delicious and once again generous serving. This dish was to me absolutely perfect and is worth its money! I will be coming back to try this for sure I will give this a 9/10
The tempura prawn we had was just on the sushi train and was okay. Felt as though there was more batter than prawn and the dessert was okay as well it looks beautiful
It was pretty much a cheesecake with apple pie in it.
Will be back to try more for sure
I like visiting this place because it offers a wide variety of Asian food depending on your mood including Thai, Japanese (sushi train) and Indonesian/ Malaysian food.
I ordered the chicken fried rice - decent portions. For dessert I had the honey cake (similar to the one found in the Fremantle Markets)...sooo good.
The decor is well organised and the restaurant is well presented.
Absolutely love Tao!
Their food is always so fresh and delicious. The portions are also well sized. The service is great, the staff are friendly and very attentive.
Highly recommend if you're looking for a meal that tastes good and is well priced.
This is the place to be if you want good hearted Chinese meal. Dine-in or takeaway, I have never been disappointed here! It's always packed out during and dinner peaks, and the reason is the outstanding quality of food. The presentation is just the cherry on top of a great cake!
My friend recommended this sushi train - particularly if you have friends who are not keen been on sushi. It is quite a large cafe and the sushi train itself is one of the biggest I've seen in Perth. We grabbed a booth - they are huge. I estimate a booth could sit about 8 adults comfortably.
Beside the sushi train they do have an extensive menu of individual dishes and signature sushi - made to order. So if you have friends - like we do - who are not keen on sushi but like Asian cuisine this place may suit your dinner plans. The menu is split into the different cuisines - Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese etc.
We ordered a pot of green tea and miso - it was pretty cold this day. And started to pick off the train. The train dishes range from $3 - $8. We had about three plates each and were very full when done. The train has typical salmon sushimi, teriyaki chicken sushi rolls through to extremely extravagant sushis. It is mainly seafood based - as Japanese cuisine tends to be. My favourite turned out to be a plate of seafood sushi which was served on a crisped onion batter with a chilli mayonnaise type sauce.
Desert is also featured on the train - mouse, pies etc.
Had the Bho Tai and was everything I hoped it to be, the broth was beautiful. Hubby had the pineapple chicken rice with a hint of curry. Portions very generous and price very reasonable. Although we came midweek the cafe was busy. Good indication that the food is good. Child friendly and service very good.
I'm definitely no sushi expert, but the food is always nice with good variety. Kids love it too. I doubt its the most authentic sushi around town, but you know that on the way in.
The pho's are usually great. Tao is a touch pricey for standard asian fare and some dishes are a bit bland as well (probably catering for those who don't like it too authentic) but it's clean and friendly. The sushi train can really add up so be vary of temptation before your main meal arrives.
Great selection- love that they have the sushi train as well as a varied Asian menu. Sashimi is super fresh and servings are very generous. Service is friendly, though can be hard to get someone's attention- having said that, that's a generalisation about sushi train joints all over Perth anyway...
The Tao Cafes (Innaloo and Melville) were a while ago a place I used to go to at least once a week for sushi or a quick dinner. The Pho Thai has always been good and there was always a good selection of sushi on the sushi train. What happened to the sushi???? Has the sushi train turned into a desert train? What a shame. Everything else is as always pretty good and good flavours. Please get the deserts off the train.
Well... The food is good, the music is at a good volume, the service has been good, the green tea is fresh... The only thing is... Damn it's cold in here. Maybe it preserves the food on the train longer... I've given the place a 3.5. I'd come back for a very quick bite to eat.
I eat here quite often. The sushi train is quite overpriced so I tend to go for menu meals. I recommend the Vietnamese soup dishes. Service is decent but the potion sizes are not as big as they used to be.
My Bottom B*tch. Tao, girl, you look kinda cheap and nasty from afar but once I got to know you from the inside out I see you a cafe with a heart of gold. I like the way you bring me ice water with straw. Girl, yo ice so smooth. Your train, it slow but it brings me the goodies. Your menu, wow, you do it all different styles. Thai. Mmm. Vietnamese. Oh. JapJap. Yeah. You got me whispering Bun Xao in my sleep. When I'm drunk I dream of you. You always there in the morning, I'm hung, I pop you a twenty and you give me a quicky with all I need. Tao, I see all this other fools dissing you but they don't know you like I do. Tao, you ain't fancy, you ain't classy but unlike other crappy Perth sushi trains I've met, you open for business day and night. Respect.
Really nice place with attentive & accommodating staff. Thought it would just be normal Thai (takeaway) but no --- IT'S SO GOOD!! Thank you. Can't wait to come and dine in with the sushi train! :)
Came here with my husband and kids on a Tuesday night without booking. We thought that we could hardly get a table for 6 as almost tables were occupied.. Only a friendly waitress came to greet us and quickly helped us arrange the table while the other two staff were chatting behind the counter.. We were confused with the wide variety menu since we came here for the first time.. and the same waitress made very good recommendations and the food suited our taste perfectly... I wanna give her my compliment for her friendly and enthusiastic manner.. (short hair with glasses)...
Love the noodles soup , great for winter !! Fresh and so Asian .. Yummy
Hopefully a once off. My boyfriend and I regularly go to Tao for a quick and easy dinner a couple of times a month. It's usually consistent in terms of service and food. On the past Tuesday night (25-06-2013) we visited and noticed that the usual owner/manager was absent and the food and service quality had dropped below it's usual level.
The food on the sushi train was old, I had a horrible and hard vegetable rice paper roll and the sushi was below par. Upon arrival, we were left standing at the door waiting to be seated (in a not very busy restaurant) while four staff milled around behind the counter and nobody came over to ask if we wanted drinks or to order from the menu after we were seated, staff had to be flagged down. I can deal with that, but the most shocking was the young lady who could not be bothered walking around the sushi train to give me my gyoza and pretty much shoved it in my face from across the train. So LAZY. I really hope that this was a once off or we will not be frequenting Tao any more.
Tao Myaree is great!! I've been with different people many times! The staff are so friendly and the food is really good! Really good if you want a quick meal! The gyoza's & prawn and mixed vegetable tempura are my favorite!
Definitely recommend :)
Pretty good food but slow service (young staff). Caters for a few tastes being Japanese (including sushi conveyor belt), Thai & Vietnamese. Fair prices.
Good food, Good Service. I have dined in on several occasions at Tao and have found it, for the most part to be a satisfying dining experience. However, one time that I dined in with my husband, I had brought to one of the waitstaff's attention that there was a slight discrepancy in the bill. The manager came over to assess the situation and proceeded to then shout harshly at the waitress which I thought was unprofessional and entirely undeserved, and created quite an awkward situation for me. Other than that the food is vibrant, fresh and tasty- both dine in and takeaway, and the waitresses are always friendly and efficient.
Sushi train, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese what more could you ask for. My partner and I love this place, I reckon we have tried at least half the menu between us; we also have friends that are regulars here and I have got a few other friends hooked on it also. The food is fresh and fulfilling and if it’s too much you can ask for the remainder in a take away container and they will happily assist. Probably one of my favourite places when I feel like authentic Asian flavours. We have always dined in however you can order take away too.
This place is a must.
Chicken terrarki bento box is a winner every time!!
LOVELY FOOD AT GREAT PRICES WITH FRIENDLY STAFF AND WARM ATMOSPHERE. Went for lunch early and was greeted be friendly happy staff , everything was so clean and well set out topped off with ministry chillout music which topped off a lovely lunch date.
Went for dinner with family and kids loved watching sushi train, it was very busy and the service was still ok with quick turn around times for orders, the kids fish and chips was very fresh and loved by all, as too was the yummy large serve teriyaki beef and sushi that we ate
We love sushi train restaurants and this is now the favorite with a pleasant happy atmosphere and great prices
Try to book and go early as it gets quite busy and you get the best service when its quiet.
Definitely going back to try everything on the menu
Love this place!! Fast service, amazing food and always entertaining stream of sushi for viewing pleasure. Will be a regular visitor!!!
Absolutely lovely staff lovely food, deffs coming back. Love the azzura gelati!
Lovely lunch. Really enjoyed a lovely lunch there with my friend. Sushi train offered a vast variety of fresh and good looking food. Menu had great choices and prices were good too. We had a tasting plate for Entrée some stir fry for mains and shared a delicious green tea ice cream with some jasmine tea. Helpful & friendly waitress, will surely pop in again.
Love it. Been here a couple of times with my family and the food is great and not too expensive. Wait staff are all so friendly. Definately going to be a regular!
Yum but expensive. Eaten here a few times and the food is decent....Although they are quite pricey compared to other restaurnat and take away joints in the area....wonder how long they will survive?! Their Beef Pho is yummmmm but if you take away make sure they gvie u all the condiments like the mint, beansprouts, sauces etc.
Nice place. Friendly service, nice atmosphere, reasonable prices and tasty food! They do Vietnamese, Japanese and Thai here. Also have a sushi train. The guy serving us was very patient and helpful with my request for no onion - running back and forth to the kitchen a few times to question things. Will come back!
