Reviews Oishii Ramen

Went there today for lunch and had to wait a little for the table and food but it was no issue at all when we finally ate. I had the spicy dan-dan ramen and all I can say is that it was honestly so oishii. Noodle portion size was decent, pork was tender and flavorsome and they didn't go overboard with the spiciness. Restaurant may be a little small in size but it can't be helped. Other than that, I'm definitely coming back and will recommend this place to anyone who's craving a serious bowl of ramen.

Love the new Oishii Ramen restaurant. It has a great welcoming and inviting atmosphere. The spicy miso ramen dish I had was great. It tastes really nice and was pack with full of flavours in this one dish. The dish itself was well prepared and the portion of the dish was satisfying as well. Overall, I had a great experience. Keep up the good work!

People have asked the question of me, is Oishii better than Nao? So here's my subjective view in print: Having had the Spicy Miso Ramen at both premises within 24 hours, furnishes me with a baseline for comparison. Nao offers larger portions and variety of noodles, which are hand made. I believe Oishii uses store bought, pre-made ramen. However, where Oishii currently trumps Nao, is their broth. The flavor of the ingredients shines through more strongly. You can taste the bamboo, the spring onions, the miso and so on. Nao's spicy miso just seemed diluted, which was best indicated by the inconsistent colour and watery patches in their broth. (Perhaps a drawback from their proportionally larger bowls) The coup de grace is simply there's just no competition when it comes to the chashu. Oishii's rendition is juicy, tender and melts in your mouth vs Nao's where I found it slightly dry and falling apart before it made it to my lips. Conclusion: So glad to have these guys in the neighbourhood. More ramen noodle options would be wonderful (I dream of green tea ramen with tonkotsu) and please consider opening for dinner again. (Y)

Without a doubt, the best ramen spot in Perth. After one taste of the tonkatsu ramen and i was sold! Made with a delicious hearty broth, and perfectly textured hand made noodles what more needs to be said. The pork seems to melt in your mouth and leaves you drooling for more. The interior is quaint and cozy, and really does feel like a ramen bar set in Japan. I recommend all foodies of Perth to head down as soon as possible. Will definitely be back soon!

Winter in Perth, to me, is an opportunity (really an excuse) food that warms my soul. This place satisfied every winter craving. The portions left me wondering if I need to eat for the rest of the day. The broth was warm and rich, and the noodles were firm and smooth, the Chashu fell apart at the touch and the bamboo shoots exploded in your mouth in sweet waves. I had the Tonkotsu Ramen, my partner had the Spicy equivalent. I usually do not like spice, but what she had, I would actually take over the Tonkotsu for the depth of flavour and perfect mix between broth and spice. If you find yourself anywhere near here and find you are in need of a meal, drop in, it won't disappoint.

Went to oishii to check out ramen . Definitely not bad for Perth. Went with a group of six. Serving sizes were humongous, and service was quick. Try the udon noodles if you want something light. The crispy chicken is good. Team ramen favourites include the miso ramen, shoyu ramen and tonkatsu. Will be returning for the spicy ones for sure. Great place would definitely recommend :)

There was a bit of a wait at around 12pm on a Friday but honestly was so worth it! The tonkotsu broth was tasty and flavoursome without being overly rich, the noodles were cooked to a beautiful al dente and the pork was sooo tender. The gyoza was also great. Will be back to try all the other flavours, 10/10 would recommend!

Was at Oishii Ramen with a friend today for early lunch. I had spicy miso ramen and my friend had ontama udon, and we shared a gyoza dish . . . Seated at the bench on this cool sunny morning, my bowl of ramen broth was absolutely delicious, with a generous serving of noodles, few pieces of melt-in-the-mouth pork belly, yummy bamboo shoots and bean sprouts, garnished with spring onion and black fungus strips, and sea-weed pieces. The best part is that after taking the soup, I don't feel thirsty at all and don't need to down lots of water. For the gyoza, the pastry skin was thin wrapping a lot of filling within. Price-wise, it is good value for money; service staff is warm and friendly; and the decor makes you feel rather at home in Japan. Ah ah, what an authentic Japanese food experience! Will certainly b back for more . . .

I've been really excited for these guys to open and I wasn't disappointed! There was a bit of a wait but it's understandable as they just opened. The ramen was excellent from the super tasty broth to really delicious and tender meat! So excited to go back there again to try other the other flavours. 10/10 would definitely recommend!

The ramen noodles they serve here aren’t my favourite but I’ve really enjoyed all the different broths I’ve tried. Under $15 for any bowl, it’s not too expensive and definitely worth the money. I like how this place serves udon and there’s an option to have thin noodles - I actually prefer it over the ramen options :) overall, a nice place to have SOR.

The receptionist was very knowledgeable and the kitchen were flexible with special requests from the children.
My whole family enjoyed the ramen pork and beef udon meals very much.

Finally made it here! Was bustling and busy at lunchtime today. The gyoza were great - meaty and delicious. I’d rather pour my own dipping soy sauce, vinegar and chilli oil to taste but ours came ready-poured.
I had the goma-shoyu ramen with an added egg and W had the tonkotsu ramen. Mine was good: the noodles were nicely textured, the chashu was nicely fatty and the other garnished and egg were all nice. W enjoyed his tonkotsu. We both wanted the soups to be a bit richer, but we overall it was a good meal.
Service was quick and friendly. Paying before being seated is ok but makes the decision of what to have a bit rushed.

This place reminds me of a Japanese Ramen shop and I love it. I love Oishii Ramen's Spicy Dan Dan Ramen and recently tried the Spicy Miso and it is just as good so I can only comment on the two. Both recommended. The other thing I want to comment on is the bamboo shoots which had a really strong pickled taste that didn't blend in with the rest of the ramen.

The other reason why I'm giving it a 3.5 rating this time is because I think the service could use some improvements. I walked in and the girl at the door immediately asked me how many people and what I wanted to order before I could look at the menu. She told me there were menus outside when I grabbed two menus. I don't know if it was just an off day for the staff member, which is understandable, as I've had no problems before and other people don't seem to have a problem with the service but that day in particular I wasn't getting any friendly vibes from her while dining at Oishii Ramen.

Apart from that, I really enjoyed my ramen and it was well worth the 40 minute drive.

This is truly authentic japanese udon and ramen. My partner and I visited Japan earlier in the year and this is the closest thing to authentuc Japanese ramen we have had since Osaka. We took my partners mum here and walked her through the process of ordering before you get seated and food arrives when it is ready not in specific courses.

It is tiny and there will be a queue but hey I think we queued for everything in Japan and you wont wait long. We were there middle of Saturday lunch rush at 12 and only waited 10mins for seats. We scored bar seats so we could watch the kitchen work.

It is a tricky loxation to find parking too. Just be aware of that.

I would highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Japanese food. We will be back.

Authentic set up with clear view of the kitchen, lovely Japanese décor and neat little benches. The ramen was exquisite, depth of flavour was beautiful. We were lucky to get here before peak hour so there was no queuing required. I personally prefer tonkotsu ramen over shoyu but Oishii have an amazing shoyu based ramen, highly recommended and worth every cent. Generous serves, will come back again.

Came here for weekday lunch at around 1 pm and had to queue and wait for about 15 min. Tried the spicy dandan ramen and miso ramen and also ordered chicken karaage as a side. The spicy dandan ramen was spicy and numbing, pretty satisfying for those who like spicy foods. Miso ramen was good too according to my friend. Good serving of noodles but I wished there were more/thicker chashu pork slices. Chicken karaage was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, perfect accompaniment to the noodles

Yesterday was my first time here and I really liked it. The soup is rich and delicious, the noodles are really good too. But my favourite is the sliced pork. It's really soft and has a bit smell of smoked. I don't really eat ramen, and if I want to eat ramen I always go to the one in Fremantle market. But I'm glad I have a place closer to my house so I don't have to go that far again :)

I tried this place for lunch today. Have always seen the queue during lunch time and avoided it then. Today I was there after 2pm and thank goodness, the lunch crowd had gone. It is a small place which explains the queue. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen. The egg was not really hard boiled as the yolk was slightly runny and the egg white soft. I loved the pork; it melted in my mouth the moment I put it in. Very finely sliced as well. I only wished that there could be more meat for the price paid though.  The noodle was more chewy and springy than I had expected. I like the broth as it was just right for my taste. It wasn't too salty or too bland. I didn't add any condiment to enhance the taste or flavour. I really like the presentation of the ramen when it was served; each ingredient separately placed and not on top of each other. I will come back and try the other ramen dishes but only after the lunch crowd has gone.

Well there's always one person I can count on to accompany me anywhere, my mama! So I hoped for her sake the ramen would be good!

I wanted to go try Oishii Ramen for a while. Finally, I am going to be in the area to get some Asian grocery. I got to the restaurant at 12:50pm there was a massive queue outside. Hence, we left our name on the book and the girl at the counter told us if there is table available she will ring us.

I went to the Asian grocer to get a few items and went back to Oishii Ramen to wait outside until they called us in.

The ambience of the restaurant was casual.

I order the spicy ramen and Simo had the udon chicken. I would say that I had better ramen. The spicy ramen and the udon chicken is flavoursome. I wouldn’t return to this joint anytime soon as I had better Ramen.

Only down fall was the adding of the seaweed at the end before they serve it to u as they don't ware gloves or use tongs or something to put the seaweed into your bowl.
I can see why this place is so popular & when u miss eating this in Asia country guess it's the next best thing.

We're here almost every weekend. A big bowl of steaming, hearty ramen, warms the heart and soul on a cold day. The chasu is amazing! Melt in your mouth goodness. The broth is flavoursome and delicious. My favourite is the Spicy Miso Ramen. I get the DanDan at times when I feel like some heat-induced numbness. The takoyaki and gyoza are perfect as entrees/snacks. You have to come early though, or be prepared for a long, long wait. It does get crowded and it's a tiny place. Also, after 1pm on weekends, they don't do takeaways. Service is always friendly.

Having an afternoon out running errands, I decided to treat myself to some of my favourite Japanese food - ramen! This little place was recommended to me by foodie friends, although the hours are a little difficult to try and navigate around because of how sporadically they open and close. Forget about going to dinner here, morning/afternoon is all that you have to try some ramen.

The dining area in this little restaurant is minuscule. I shared a table with a young couple who didn't mind me sitting there, although I felt a little bad being crammed onto their space since it was obvious they were on a date. But I kept my head down and checked emails on my phone, so it was fine, if somewhat cramped.

I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen, and it came out quite fast. I was disappointed, however, that I only got two slices of the chashu pork, since it was quite yummy. The servings are large, so I'm glad I wasn't tempted by an entree or a snack. I'd been to Japan before and enjoyed all sorts of ramen there, and compared to some other places I'd been to here in Perth, it's very good. There's pretty much no service because of the lack of room, so if you want something you need to go to the front and ask whoever is manning the till. The broth was spicy which I enjoyed, but somehow the bamboo shoots were very strange to eat? I usually love bamboo, but this bamboo was very sweet (almost too sweet to eat) so I ended up abandoning most of it in the bowl.

This is a good place to grab a bowl of ramen quickly and go, since the atmosphere is cramped and the short trading hours make you feel like you need to rush a little bit. I would give a higher score if they remedied either the size of the premise or change their opening hours to relax the clientele a little more. There certainly seemed enough customers interested in the cuisine judging by the line outside to warrant opening up for longer.

Small place, got here around 1pm on a Sunday and waited roughly half an hour for a spot. Food was very quick to arrive - we ordered the spicy miso ramen and shoyu ramen, both had great depth of flavours, shoyu had bits of burnt garlic without being too overpowering. prices are fair and comes with abundant toppings. Tonkotsu is very flavoursome without being too heavy. Their egg is a hit and miss. One huge drawback is that despite several complaints by previous reviews about the hygiene practices, there has been no change - the kitchen is in full view of patrons and food is being handled without gloves. Otherwise would have received a much higher rating. Shame this place isn't closer to CBD

While everyone tried their ramen, this time I decided to try their udon! That did not disappointed me at all! From the soup base, the seafood and the noodles, I can feel that all made with passion! The soup base had a kind of fresh taste, which I don't know how to describe. And every single seafood is special made, it doesn't look like the frozen seafood that can buy from anywhere! This shop is definitely worth a try!

This place still attracts the long queues for lunch, so I had to come earlier than 11am to avoid the long wait time. So finally got to eat here - we stuck to the ramen selection and ordered the Shoyu Ramen and Spicy Miso Ramen plus a side of Gyoza. The Gyoza was ok, nothing special and came with 8 pieces - not very meaty. The ramen in general was decent, the noodles not hand made at the store, but the broth was medium thick but wasn't too watery like some places. The spiciness was bearable which is good. But the egg was overcooked and not runny yolk like it's supposed to be. Ok, would I wait long time for this? - probably not.

Probably the best chashu in Perth, it melts in your mouth. We tried the spicy miso and it's pretty good. Not overwhelming but just nice. There's a line but it's well organized. After 15 minutes or so, our dishes came out. My dining companion ordered the spicy dan dan ramen ($12.90) – chashu (braised pork belly), sesame seeds, dried chilli, egg, Japanese bamboo shoots, beansprouts, spring onion, black fungus, seaweed and fish cake. It definitely looked hot with it’s strong orange colour and dried chilli floating throughout.

This place seems to always have a small line outside waiting to get in. There is a small seating area with about 5 tables and 2 bar bench style seating areas. There are 6 different types of Ramen dishes and 6 udon dishes (all $12.90). The ramen dishes have all the same ingredients(Braised pork belly, bamboo shoots, beansprouts, spring onion, fungus, seaweed and fish cake)  but with different broths. The udon dishes has a range of different options like chicken, beef, seafood ect.  We ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and Shoyu Goma ramen. Tonkotsu ramen is the base broth with a mild taste. The Shoyu Goma is the same broth but with sesame seeds and garlic, adding a more intense flavor. Both broths tasted great The braised pork was nicely cooked and went well with the broth. The fish cake is  tiny, about the size of a 10c piece. The noodle were a little bit of a let down,  packet noodles which felt like 2 min noodles but slightly better quality. Overall the broth is whats makes this place, you can tell they focus on making a good tasty broth. Its a shame they don't use better noodle which lets the dish down. I would come here again for the broth and would recommend people to try it.

The most authentic ramen I have had in Perth.  I tried the tonkatsu ramen and I have to say it really reminds me of the ramen that I have eaten that I have eaten in Japan.  The setting is reminiscent in a way to a Ramen join in Japan and even the experience of waiting for a spot after putting your name down adds to that.  The wait is a long but once you get down to eating the ramen it becomes totally worth it.  I would definitely go back again and again.  It has become my favourite Ramen place in Perth.

Very busy little spot. Put your name and number down at the counter then check out the menu as you wait. It was quite busy even late in the afternoon (weekend). We ordered the shoyu ($11.90)and tonkatsu ramen ($12.90). The shoyu was nice and rich with bits of burnt garlic. The tonkatsu was lighter but with more of a pork broth taste. Both came with the same things on top except the shoyu one didn't come with an egg. I paid an extra $1 for half an egg. We sat at the counter and watched the chefs prepare the food, there's a big pot of pork broth going and we could see them straining bits of pork bone. The noodles came out of a packet so don't think they are home made or anything. The pork was nice and tender. Decent serving size. Would come back!

Just like in Japan. Ramen bar in Japan are usually small and have limited choices on the menu. This is exactly what we need in Perth.

We were lucky enough to be there just before the rush, we've waited 5 minutes for our table which was surprisingly unexpected. What I really like about the sequence of service here is that it's just like in Japan. You order your food from the girl at the door (Just like in Japan, but it is replaced by a vending machine.) Then you get seated. Hopefully within minutes, you get your bowl of ramen.

We were seated at the bar counter, and we get to witness all the action happening in the kitchen.  We were there on their 3 week after opening, the speed in the kitchen have some work to do, but we understand the staff are still trying to get their grove on. I believe once they get their grove in the kitchen, their ramen will be flying out like a UFO.

Now on to the ramen, there are not a lot of choices here which makes ordering easy. Having said that, they do provide a few of the most popular ramen broth choice. We ordered the tonkotsu ramen and the shoyu ramen. Both were good, depending on your personal preference. The tonkotsu broth has a lighter note to it, unlike some other places, they make it so rich. Both were good, but the richer broth makes you feel heavier after an entire bowl of ramen. The broth has many depth of flavour, which make it so addictive to keep drinking it. All the toppings were top notch as well, especially the  melt-in-your-mouth pork belly. Their shoyu ramen might be different version from the Tokyo shoyu ramen (which is lighter). The one here has burnt garlic dotted on the broth which give another level of flavour (if you like garlic).

All in all, we are very happy to welcome  Oishii Ramen being a part of Perth worthy ramen. I can't wait to return to try the other ramen and their udon as well.

Hit and miss. But the hit menu items are most definitely worth visiting this place! Got dan dan spicy ramen which was dismal, broth was watery chilli oil. Tonkotsu is subtle broth which I can see others liking though I personally didn't like it as I prefer bold flavours. Shoyu goma ramen was good especially if you like sesame. Shoyu ramen is the overall fav! Such flavourful broth with the garlic oil and black fungus seaweed. The ramen is very good, it's a tad chewy and fresh (almost like the amazing ramen in Tokyo). The pork belly in their ramen is melt in your mouth goodness. Gyoza is a tasty side. It can be hard to get a seat on the weekend when we called at noon on a Saturday it was a 40min wait for a table so we ordered over the phone. Major kudos that they separated the broth from the ramen so it wouldn't be soggy by the time we ate it at home, big thumbs up for attention to detail! Place is def worth a visit! Came back and tried the udon, the broth was lovely. Chicken skin was lightly crispy. They added broccoli and mushroom, the mushroom was just too pungent to eat so took it out. Generous servings and at such a reasonable price. Just don't order the dan dan.

I really don't know why this place has such a low rating because it is fantastic. Ramen is becoming a lot more popular in Perth but most places are in the CBD/Northbridge area so I'm stoked that this place is so close to home in the local Asian shopping area. Have been twice now for weekend breakfast/brunch and only had to wait 5 minutes. So far we have tried the tonkotsu, miso, shoyu, spicy miso and the tempura udon. The soups in all of them are so tasty and full of flavour (my favourite is the shoyu). The soup in the udon is kind of like a mix of soup and dipping sauce for the tempura which works really well. Only thing is the kakiage is a bit oily. Must try the gyoza and takoyaki as well! My tip is to pick a good time to go (not around lunch time obviously), be prepared to wait, and give it a chance because it is worth it!

Highly recommend this place! once you get in you will get greeted by the waitress and they would ask you to order your meal straight away before they sit you down which is kinda weird system but i guess its ok. Generous portion, nice thick and rich broth, price not bad, overall is good. The only downside is the long queue, but if you get there early just before lunchtime hits you can hopefully avoid all that and get a table straight away.

Love it especially they open from 9am and who said can't have ramen for breakfast?

We arrived when they just open, not crowded. I guess people rock up late near noon anyway. Ordered shoyu goma ramen and came out a bit different. Flavorful added with burnts bits into soup and only if you like this charred flavour.

On the other hand I myself ordered tonkotshu ramen. Love this one, milky colour and lovely flavour but what more comments can I add?

Overall for broth they are not as salty or as pungent other ramen shop offer. To some degree other competitors do had me drink a lot of water after the meal. This otherwise is still flavorful with every single sip and ramen is definitely 'al dente'. Chashu by far I think they are the best, marinated and cook perfectly. Layer of fat is there and meat itself is not dry.

Ambience is very good, seems operated by all Japanese. Shops in Myaree are small but know that yourselves its not suitable for group booking. They are all high benches so if you are coming with children unless they know how to sit still on a stool then it will be great otherwise I only see one normal table for 3 person.

Of course I will go back there again, keen to try the rest of the flavour.

Visited Oishii Ramen on a Saturday morning at 11:30am. We didn't get seated until 1:00pm as there was a long line outside. I had the spicy miso ramen, and it was really good. The broth was sweeter than Dosukoi's and the servings of chashu more generous than Nao. Price-wise, it's in between Dosukoi and Nao.

Overall, great food. But they need to do something about that line (although you can't blame them for the crowd that wants to eat there).

It was a long wait on a Saturday but we'll worth the wait. They call u back when Ur table is ready. The ramens were amazing and so was the tokoyaki. We would go back but would book well ahead.

I love the spicy dan dan ramen but the other broths I've had are also delicious. Nice rich broth absolutely packed with flavour and the noodles are cooked so they've still got a bit of bite which I like.
