Don't mistakenly judge this restaurant as a "Motel" Restaurant the food served here is absolutely gorgeous. My husband and I enjoyed a 3 course meal on Friday night and it was sensational. The service was sensational, the view was gorgeous but the food is the star it is truly delicious. So please make the effort and not only stay at the Whale Motor Inn but dine at the Restaurant and enjoy. 5 stars alround.
By far the best food I've ever had!
View was breathtaking, and the staff were friendly. Even down to Matt recommending me a whiskey from their range (which was amazing by the way).
I'd definitely recommend staying here!
The Whale menu is in constamt change due to them embracing the freshest of fresh - everything is local, foraged and or caught so change is icommon. The food would only be more fresh if you hunted with Chef. The restaurant is not far from my parents place so it offers food goals when visiting. The Flathead and Scallop Ceviche is one of the best things I have eaten and the Gnocchi is next level.
You MUST dine at The Whale if in the Narooma area.

We had a great meal in the restaurant tonight! Awesome beer on tap, amazing wine and the food was fantastic! We had our 1yr old daughter with us to and they went out of the way to look after us! We'll be back

Great food, location, vibe and service overall. Steamed scallop is very tasty. However some dishes are bit disappointing. Gong Bao chicken is bit too salty and the pancake for Peking pancake is too dry. Overall still a great restaurant for a fancy night out.

Shredded Peking Beef was ridiculously good, salt and pepper squid was sensational and the fried rice was one of the best. We also had the stir fried green beans, my wife doesn’t eat beans but she sure did enjoy these ones.

Superlative. Such a well orchestrated Asian influenced restaurant in the Deep South of NSW.
Flavours are simple and how good food should always exemplify great produce.
Whilst I dropped by for work, it would be a something special for an occasion with a gorgeous view and warm, attentive staff.
If only they knew how to cook a steak - medium rare!!
Food was absolutely delicious and the $88 banquet menu is 👍👍👍 love the creative flavour for kingfish sashimi, oyster and tofu dip for prawn and cassava cracker. A must visit place when you are in Narooma.
Their dessert jasmine sorbet with raspberry granita and cocoa crumb is the BEST and should be in the banquet rather than the mango pudding.
The only thing that shouldn’t be in the banquet was peking shredded beef. It was salty, sauce over powering the meat and the combination didn’t work.
Service was good and come for early dinner to enjoy the evening.
Room needs more light as it was hard to read small menu in the dark. Very hard to take a good photo of your yummy beautiful dish to post on instagram / review page.
