There’s is more than one reason both the Ciao Italia outlets are absolutely packed out, not just by locals in the immediate area but by tourists, visitors and folks coming from far away suburbs; the service, family style sharing concept and speed are just a few. I would venture to say, though, that the pizzas at Nedlands Ciao Italia are better than the South Perth outlet. Pastas, since served in large, sharing portions can get gluggy but still tasty - always better dining in than take away. Overall the Nedlands outlet is better since it’s bigger and there is more room. Will always go back, service is lovely.
We had the meals delivered to the hospital and were absolutely amazed how delicious the pasta was. We had the carbonara, the produce was fresh and the pasta was cooked perfectly. We'll be back for more
Wonderful relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and authentic generous Italian food. This is one of our family favourites for dinner. Highly recommend!

The reason I go here is for the very, very generous and shareable portion sizes, particularly for their pastas. Quality is good and has a chilled out, friendly atmosphere. Pasta and pizza both good and has a good selection of desserts, though the Tiramisu was not the best.
This place like the other branch serves great food. The only missing thing is the atmosphere. This branch is more modern, but less homey and cosy. The presentation of the food is very different. At the South Perth branch, the lasagna is put on a huge plate with a generous heaping of sauce. The Nedlands branch, however, serves ;asagna in a small bowl with not nearly as much sauce. There is less queue though here though.
Went here with my husband and his friend for dinner on weekdays, need to wait for 30 min to get table inside. If outside table only 5 min, but the weather already cold so we wait for the one inside. We ordered Chilli Mussels (which is a must try), one pasta and a steak. The portions are big and the taste was good. we take away the tiramisu since we are unable to eat it there (too full), and that is the best tiramisu i ever had. The restaurant is crowded but the service is fast and good. Recommended!
Absolutely loved it! Took my husband tonight for his birthday. So glad you can book Tuesday night's because it was packed and ppl were taken off our table. There was a line outside on a cold night. Food was delicious! Thought it was a bit pricey but then realised portions are really for two! Desserts were yum. Weren't asked for drinks and we forgot to order so just drank the water. Ambience was lovely. Like a noisy dinner at our house. Love it!
Ambiance and decor are very nice. There's lots of colour in the place thanks to a variety of decorations on the walls and table cloths. There is lots of space as well so it still feels comfortable when it's busy. The staff, in particular Alfredo, were very friendly and made our experience even more special.
The food was very good. I highly recommend the squid ink pasta and risotto marinara. Both are very flavourful and cooked to perfection. Portion sizes were also HUUGE.
As for the stars of the show, the tiramisu was unbelievably light and the cream gave the dish a beautiful richness.
A bit on the expensive side but considering what you get, it is certainly value for money. Highly recommended, especially with a group of friends.
We went there on a weekday night so the restaurant was not that busy. We had the chilli mussels, spaghetti aglio e olio, pizza (the one with ricotta) and TIRAMISU😍. Chilli mussels were very appetizing, it was the best of the day! The spaghetti was not greasy, but taste average. And the portion of the spaghetti was very huge, I reckoned it could be shared between 2 people. We shared between 3 people as we did order the other food. Tiramisu was irresistible, u could feel the layers melt in your mouth. The staff were so friendly. The service was the highlight part through out my dining experience!
Great food great atmosphere.... Really livened up that spot on Broadway. We really enjoyed our very generous meals here. Will be a regular for us now that we stumbled across it!
One of the best Italian restaurant in Perth. We visited on a Saturday night and just missed the crazy queues. We had the garlic bread for starters and for mains a margherita pizza and and calabrese pizza. Cannot fault the food. Huge portions and a lovely chilli sauce is on each table. Love the rustic Italian feel to the restaurant. Will def be back.
Possibly one of the better italian restraunts I have tried in Perth. Service was prompt, attentive but not intrusive and helpful. The food is a tad on the pricey side (~$30 for most standard meals) however the portion size is very big (I cannot finish it and I eat a lot) and is also very tasty. So essentially you do get what you pay for here in Oz. Could possibly do with some authentic italian music in the background and better acoustics so conversation with my partner is audible to me as it was quite noisy and hard to hear the other person.
Came here on a Tuesday night, no reservation. Service was friendly and prompt. Pizza as always was fresh, ordered the calabreze and margarita - unfortunately I found the margarita a bit underwhelming, no real flavour really. Tiramisu and profiteroles for desert, as always the tiramisu was fresh and profiteroles were very decadent.
Always love this place. Servings are generous. Food is tasty. Atmosphere is great. Service is always friendly. We come back as a family time and time again.
Looking at the menu it looked pretty horrendous. I like my food plain and simple. No dressing. No sauces . Everything looked super saucy. Even the grilled calamari looked like it had been battered. I reluctantly went there for dinner on Friday night. It was BYO and the company was amazing. I opened the menu just prior to ordering (I had already studied it 10times)...thinking I would just get a salad...to my surprise 'grilled barramundi' had been added to the menu!! Well my night was made. Massive servings, no dressing as requested, cooked to perfection! They catered for our table of 12 amazingly. Service was lovely and attentive. Food was served nice and quick! Everyone loved there massive super greasy portions (haha) it was great! Lost half a point for the two bones I nearly choked on ...
Hohohohho..Christmas is coming. Don't forget to give this place a try. Def recommend.

All dishes enjoyed, we had the bruschetta, lasagna, veal parmigiana and spaghetti bolognese. Just as good as South Perth location. Bruschetta, as usual, was the stand out - amazingly fresh tomatoes all of which were juicy and nicely complimented the garlic bread underneath. Veal parmigiana nice and tender, great sauce and veggies were enjoyed.
Ordered the ciao Italia fettuccine. Portion was huge! Enough for two people in my opinion. It was yummy and creamy but really really filling. As usual the tiramisu did not disappoint
After some delicious filling meals at their South Perth location i thought this one is worth a crack and might be a tad quieter. I arrived and no surprise the place was buzzing with people dining. Luckily there was a spare table, got the usual garlic bread followed by a wood oven-ed pizza, which was also very good. Will be back again

Came here for lunch on a weekday, and was pleasantly showed a table upon arrival. Great range of food, and we ordered a bit of everything to share. Portions of food were large, and fed all of us to our content. Food tasted good taste wise, no complaints really. I will revisit again in the future!

One of my favourite Italian restaurants in Perth is Ciao Italia in South Perth. However it is a bit of a trek for me to venue down there and the fact that they don’t take reservations means that there is generally a bit of a wait by the time I get there. However the food it worth it. So I was really happy when I heard that they were opening up a second store in Nedlands. Yay! I didn’t have to venture as far for delicious food. My friend and I went here a while ago when they first opened and was called Chapter 88. However since then, they have decided to rename it to Ciao Italia – Nedlands. The menu is the same as the one in South Perth so you get to enjoy all of your favourite dishes; mine are and continue to be the Ciao Italia pasta with chilli oil and the tiramisu. There is a lot more seating available at this restaurant and the best thing is that they accept reservations! – This means less time waiting, more time eating, which is always a good thing. The food here is of the same quality and was filling, delicious and satisfying. Definitely will return

Brought the family here for dinner last night. We have been going to the one in South Perth but have always found it space tight and have felt that they rush you to finish your meals so that they can clear the table for another group. After reading and looking at the pics here, we thought we give this place a go. We walked up around 5.30pm and the restaurant was still quiet but by 6pm, the place was nearly full. The tables are spread wide enough to allow easy access in and out and they don't cramp 4 people into a small table which the South Perth one does probably becos' there is such a lack of space there. We found it comfortable dining here. We ordered garlic bread, a ciao italia, the chilli mussels and the calabrese pizza. The food tasted great as it should. The garlic bread was done very nicely, not the dry crumbly ones you get elsewhere. The crust was chewy and the bread was spread really well with butter and garlic. The chilli mussels were cooked to perfection. We always order this whenever we are in Ciao Italia. A big steaming bowl of hot chilli mussels, yum yum!! They should provide some free bread rolls to dip in that tasty sauce. The fettucine and the pizza were devoured with great relish. We also found that we were not rushed out of our seats when we finished dinner as we usually do not order any coffee or desserts. We were allowed to tarry a bit longer at our table and to leave when we are ready. This is a great difference as compared to the one in South Perth. The service is almost impeccable if not for that the fact that one of the waiters asked if we wanted chilli oil and parmesan cheese which we said yes and totally forgot about it. Still nothing to fuss about. We will most probably come to this branch now knowing that it provides a more leisure dining experience for us and the food tastes just as wonderful.
Have always been meaning to visit and find out what the fuss is about. Only regret is that I went in my last year in Uni! I got the Ciao Italia (chicken) pasta, and friend got a mushroom pasta with white sauce. Both were huge portions, and absolutely delicious. The white sauce in both the dishes tasted completely different. The ambience is warm with interesting touches and the staff is attentive and hospitable. The desserts looked so tempting, too bad we were too full to try them! Oh well next time.
While this place is very busy and you may have to wait a while for a table, the service is great and the staff are friendly and extremely efficient. The servings are enormous and its just damn tasty!
Love this place so much! Wish they could open daytime so I can be there more often with my little one! A little shame they only open at night now!
Love, love, love this place! I have only ordered takeaway from here and every time its been great. The calamari and the vegetarian pizza are my two favourites. Only issue I have is it is slightly pricier than other pizzas, however I'm very willing to pay extra for the quality. The other small set back is I normally love tiramisu and I don't like this one that much, but all the better for my waist line!
Food is superb here and they always introduce new dishes which is always good. We ordered a chef's special pesto pasta and it was fantastic. The lightly battered squid is very good. The garlic bread is good. Chili mussel is good but could be inconsistent - sometimes it's spicy and sometimes it's not. We like the spicy version.
Fantastic wood fire pizza, definitely hits the spot. Nice to see some flavor in the market. Come with a big group for a good time 👌🏼 just don't make my rookie mistake of getting too full too quick
I've been here a few times as a way to treat myself after my studies with my boyfriend. On one occasion I had the mussels and garlic bread while my boyfriend had the spaghetti carbonara (his favourite) with the bruschetta. I thoroughly enjoyed both the things I ordered, as well as the bruschetta since my lunch partner was too stuffed. Another occasion we had the calamari and steak sandwich, with the calamari being a mutual guilty pleasure of ours, that we were delighted with. I always look forward to popping by for lunch when I can, so that is why I got depressed when I found out they no longer do lunch. If I am ever stuck at uni late, I will definitely stop by for dinner and take my boyfriend with me for a nostalgia trip.
It was good but compared to the S.Perth one I don't think they are as good. Taste pretty close. Freshness of S.Perth is better. Service both the same Italian warm welcoming and table setting very close to next table and noisy.
As a regular at the original Ciao Italia in South Perth, I had high expectations of Ciao Italia in Nedlands...and those expectations were exceeded!! It was incredible. We ordered garlic bread for entree and it was awesome. My girlfriend ordered the Veal Scaloppine Marsala and I had the Penne Vodka. The veal was incredibly tender and the sauce was rich and delicious. My Penne Vodka was absolutely glorious. For dessert we had the famous Tiramisu and it is the best one I have had. Great atmosphere, incredible food, highly recommended.
Started the meal with bruchetta with chunky tomatoes with garlic and herbs - this was my favourite of the night! Nice creamy Spaghetti Carbonara. Spaghetti Vongole was also good with a bit of chilli. Both pasta were cooked to perfect al dente! Veronese pizza wasn't that impressive - nothing much to talk about. Finished the meal with nice and refreshing Lime tart! Overall, good dining experience.
The friendliest staff who treat us like family. The food is always fantastic and the portions are so generous. Keep up the great work guys! Ciao Italia really sets the bar high for competitors :)
Best Italian in Perth by far (and we have tried plenty). My favourite Pasta dish is the Ciao Italia. Always busy, great atmopshere, fun restaurant to go to, and service is perfect.
Indeed best Italian food in the town be it pizza, pasta, salad or deserts. Very reasonably prized and very large portion. Great service, friendly staff and friendly owner. You can't ask for more .........

I was unbelievably excited when I realised these guys were opening up a shop in Nedlands!
The food here is delicious, but what makes this restaurant such a favourite is the staff. They are the warmest, loveliest, most efficient people, who obviously love their restaurant and care about making sure you enjoy it as much as they seem to. The place always feels authentic and inviting and I get a friendly wave every time I walk past.
While the pizzas here are huge and very flavorsome, I can never go past the pastas. Unless I want to take half home in a doggy bag, I always request a small size- they'll give you cheaper, smaller serve that I may have a hope in hell of actually finishing. Otherwise I get a lunch out of it the next day to, and they're really good about packaging leftovers up for you :) My favourites are the risotto marinara (DELICIOUS fresh seafood), the fettuccine amatriciana (hearty and rich with a chilli kick), and the fettuccine ciao italia (creamy chicken and sun dried tomato).
And OF COURSE that incredible tiramisu, even if I'm so stuffed I can't walk! Thank you so much for coming to Nedlands
Visited for dessert after reading about the tiramisu! A bit disappointing - the cake was dry and it lacked the coffee punch I crave from this dessert. My friend's hazelnut triangle was nice but not rave-worthy (Zomato worthy?). Good service, good vibes though - easy to see why it was packed, even mid-week.

Chapter 88 is no longer with us. A smart move by Ciao Italia, you know how the saying goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." This was exactly my thought when the good people at Ciao Italia changed Chapter 88 back to Perth's favourite Italian restaurant (I don't think I'm making too big a claim!). I've loved Ciao Italia for as long as I can remember, the atmosphere, the food, the tiramisu! Well when my friend invited a bunch of us out for dinner for his birthday to Ciao, I immediately volunteered to organise it for him. By organise I mean just ask how many people were coming and called the restaurant to make a reservation. Yes, you read correctly, Ciao Italia in Nedlands accepts reservations (Halleluyah!!!). This made me love Ciao even more!
My "go to" meal at ciao Italia is always the spaghetti marinara. If you don't want to have to queue in south perth, just go to the Nedlands one! Service, decor and music are all very Italian. And I like how I can book a table here especially for larger groups. Save some room for the tiramisu as always!
I booked here not so long ago and received excellent service in terms wait staff personality and promptness. The restaurant was rather busy and a little bit noisy (which i personally prefer), so that was a positive for me. The food come out very swiftly and the garlic bread was an absolute must for me. The fettuccine ciao italia to me didn't taste how an italian pasta should taste. It was far too creamy and even had a sense of store bought sauce. Ms Z had the tortellini which i much preferred. The portions are huge so i have to argue that the price is defiantly fair for what you get. The only reason that i scored it better than i would was the tiramisu. I thought it was defiantly the best in perth for sure. Don't forget this place is BYO though!!
Very crowded on a Friday night which is a good sign but felt a bit squished in and sardine like at our table.

Came here on Friday and they didn't take bookings (walk in only). Came around 6:45pm and waited for around 10 minutes, which is not bad. We ordered a pizza and a pasta, and their portion is quite big. Our pizza crust was a bit burnt but the pasta tasted great. Also love their tiramisu, portion is quite big though, so its better to share.

Before I even got my meal I felt already satisfied because of the friendly waitstaff, atmosphere. Although it's pretty packed with tables set up close to each other it doesn't really matter.

The new branch continues the legacy...Still the best Italian food in the Perth!!! The carbonara, the squid ink pasta, pollo ciao italia are all to die for! Remember to keep place for dessert though...best tiramisu around! Happy serving staff and a jovial atmosphere add to the charm of the place
Definitely a calmer experience than going to the south Perth location. Larger venue and no crowd. Love the ciao italia garlic bread! But the squid ink pasta was way unsalted, no kick to the flavour whatsoever. The spaghetti vongole was nice, not too heavy - but could've done with a bit of garlic in there. Bit pricey for pasta, but large serves and if you want to avoid the crowd then try this place instead.
Fantastic customer service. Efficient and fast always ready to help. They have a nice a cozy ambiance to the place. Gotta try their tiramisu when you are there! One of the best tiramisu I have tasted in a long while.
Sorry people this is not Italian food (I am a Wog boy)... It is mulched crap served with a cream sauce on meat or chicken or pasta. Seriously expensive for what you get. Pizzas looked good but didn't have one.

Celebrated my son's 18th there last night. Huge table of guests. All the meals came out together, piping hot and we ordered a mix of pizzas, pasta and meats. Delicious food and great service. Serving sizes are huge. The Happy Birthday song was a real treat and made our night!!! Thanks to all staff!
Great venue, great staff and the best pizza in Perth, pure and simple! To have authentic Italian food on our doorstep is such a treat. Ciao Italia is a place where you would proudly take family, friends or business associates without any fear of disappointment. BYO is a bonus as well!
Great to have a robust Italian cafe run by Italians who consistently produce the goods in the western suburbs. Bellissimo! A little on the expensive side; balanced with huge portions makes it a treat. Lip smacking parmigiana, pasta and pizza will satisfy most. New wood fire pizza oven takes centre stage in the red n white gingham tradition decor. And those home made desserts ... Save room for them by sharing a main course!

The food is pretty much the same quality as Ciao Italia South Perth (except squid ink with prawns pasta was a little bit bland when I had it last Saturday 30th may) but other than that - your food is satisfying every time.
Service is prompt and good too. As always!

Awesome place and service. I came here with my girlfriend on date night for the first time a few nights ago. The food and service was excellent, but that's not why they deserve a positive review. I, being a clumsy arse tipped my glass of wine over my girlfriends main course (and girlfriend), and the manager/supervisor lady insisted on replacing the main course free of charge, even declined when I offered to pay for a new meal. All in all, would definitely recommend it to anyone. Carbonara and beef cheeks were scrumptious...thanks you chapter 88!
Best service & OMG to the meals and the portions are way more than generous! Staff were so accommodating and heaps of fun. LOVE.

Hearty homestyle Italian. A friend and I came for dinner last night and after being here several times, thought it worthwhile to share the experience. The restaurant is spacious and has a great lively atmosphere - typical of Italian hospitality. We were greeted by friendly wait staff and didn't have to wait long to be seated. Water was promptly bought to the table and waiters didn't forget about us, despite the place being quite busy. Looking around at the other dishes, you will see that the kitchen are generous in their portion sizes, a great option for lunch the next day. I ordered the Linguine Vongele (llinguine with clams) and my friend had the osso bucco special. My pasta was perfectly al-dente, the true Italian way, and was full of clams. I managed to eat the whole serving size despite the size (yes, piggy piggy - it was so good I couldn't stop eating it) however my friend struggled to finish the osso bucco. My pasta had beautiful fresh tomatoes and very tasty. My friend really enjoyed the osso bucco and the meat looked very tender and was full of chunky carrots. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the place was full of kids as well - so very family friendly. Defiantly will be taking more friends back here.
Amazing, amazing, amazing. I have been nothing but impressed with the entire experience at Chapter 88. Although it is a shame they no longer serve breakfast, after being to a dinner service I can't fault that. The service is 5 star and the food is outstanding. I tried the squid ink linguini, it was delicious. The staff are always more than happy to make alterations to the dishes upon request.

Cafe's of Perth take note.. We rocked up this morning after the Swan River Run. No booking however the staff were friendly, seated us, were willing to let us order at the counter as there was a large group coming in at various times. The co-owner was on the till , very friendly answered my queries about the fruit toast. The breakfast came out pronto, staff were attentive, coffee's followed after. This was great for a busy cafe in Nedlands. Our run group runs around the CBD and I will definitely want to return to UWA to have my breakfast here. Thanks guys for a lovely morning and wishing you the besst
Break after ride. We rolled up, straight in on a Sunday morning. standard bacon and eggs, cooked well and good quality. Staff were attentive and professional. Evidence of experience running the restaurant showed. Pricing was good and worth coming back to. 10/10

This is one of our favourite restaurants that we will definitely go to whenever we are in Perth. Ordered 2 pizzas and 2 pastas which didn't disappoint at all. Mussels were really fresh with the sauce having real seafood sweetness. The mushroom soup was awesome too! Portion is huge but food is so yummy that it still taste great when you heat up the pizzas hours later. Advise to do bookings as it's always full house during peak hours
Reached at 5 pm so our food came pretty quick and by 6 pm the restaurant is packed on a Saturday evening. Very friendly staff and the food is delicious. Pasta came in big portion. Tiramisu is moist and I really enjoyed it.

A favourite of hours for a traditional Italian dinner. Our favourite is the deliciously creamy Panna e Funghi. (Mushrooom in cream). Serves are very generous. Staff is very friendly. Weekends are busy so be ready to wait. But the line moves fast.
Their namesake pasta dish was rich and delicious. Chili mussels were quite spicy, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Lasagna was alright, just a tad salty. Excellent original tiramisu.
The restaurant is pretty simple but the food is just AMAZING. I've always been to Ciao Italia in South Perth but this one in Nedlands looks much bigger and comfy. We booked a table for a birthday night and they changed the music for "Happy birthday to you " while bringing our desert to the table with a candle it was very nice!!!! We just loved!
The only thing is that they do not split the bill which is very annoying when we go out with friends. But we had fun and a very nice time together.
