Have been for dinner a few times now always a great experience, good food and service.
One of my favourite Asian restaurants in Perth, have been coming her for several years and the food has always been consistently fresh and very delicious. The setting isn't fancy but the food more than makes up for the decor. Standout dishes:, Ginger fish, Prawn basket, lemongrass chicken, Vietnamese diced beef, Hor fun and of course their amazingly delicious fried rice. Westernised Vietnamese cuisine for sure, but I honestly haven't eaten a bad dish here and the quality of the ingredients used is excellent. A little on the pricier side but so worth it. Definitely worth checking out.
I have been going to the Nedlands restaurant for several years now, and just keep going back.
Why?
Simply because it serves excellent fresh food, which has fantastic flavour and presentation and quite large servings at very good prices. The service is also outstanding and the manager very friendly and accommodating. Very highly recommended!
I had their chicken and egg noodles and it was sooo yummy. Great place to eat when hungry and craving a filling and tasty meals. BYO makes it even better, and a great place for a gathering.
The owner greats you with a smile every time we go. Somehow it seems like he remembers us which adds to the experience. The food is delicious, staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit for some great food!

The decor is bland but the food is simply glorious! We were so surprised how fresh and tasty every dish was. And the prices are very reasonable given how expensive Perth still is.
The roast duck was well prepared; moist and slightly spicy. Yum! The other dishes were excellent.
We found the staff very efficient and friendly and the service was fast. Very fast!!
Recommended highly. We are going back this week.
No not the Nedlands one but APPLECROSS. Taken Zomato 6 months and still doesn't recognize TQR Applecross on Sleat Road. Similar food to Nedlands but nicer cosy decor and easier parking. Good friendly service. Good prices for mixed Vietnamese and Asian meals. Try the Hanoi prawns as entree and the Lemongrass Fish as a main.
Lovely food and service. Would definitely recommend it. So much food we were able to take the leftovers home. Also in the entertainment book which was great.
great casual Vietnamese dining. the food was very tasty and came out at a reasonable time considering the restaurant was full on a Sunday evening. the dishes are also a very good size which is more than I can say for the current trend in Indian cuisine which is to serve your main in an egg cup.
Great Service & Delicious Authentic Vietnamese food, its the best in the area.
Tip: Make a booking to reserve a seat as it gets really busy !
Best Dishes here are the Satay Chicken Skewers, Hanoi Prawns, Crispy Duck & the Black Pepper Squid ! All AMAZING dishes to try !! - Definitely Recommend , also make a booking before you come as its always packed here !
Recently another TQR just opened up in Applecross i heard !
Always wanted to come here and finally did. The place is huge with lots of tables. We got the red chicken curry and tqr duck with a side of rice.
The curry came in literally 5 minutes and the duck not far after. Curry was creamy but a little hastily done, the vegetables/greens were too crunchy but in general a lot of chicken and sauce. Duck was not exceptional, tasted bland and a bit too chewy. For the price there's a lot better restaurants out there.

This place is amazing. Brilliant value for money, fantastic food and excellent service. Family run business. Can't speak highly enough. The negative reviews I've read on this thread are complete rubbish. We eat at TWR almost every week and they never fail to impress.
Delicious food. Have been several times and food is always consistently good. Service is average, a little pricey but generous sized. Will go again.

Great food always. Great food, great value. love all the dishes. Love the sour soup. Thumbs up. Dine in or takeaway. You cannot beat this restaurant for food service and value for money.
What's not to like!. After several years coming to TQR we have our favorites and keep coming back. Always crowded but the service generally keeps up.
Go the Hanoi Prawns.
Poor Menu, Good Food and Service. Our first visit to the restaurant this evening. Was rather disappointed with the menu since the very common Vietnamese food is not in the list.
But in terms of taste, it is not bad, quite nice, though it might be overprice since the setting of the restaurant is more or less somewhat like a cafe only to me.
Service is very good, the staff are very customer oriented and proactive. They noticed that the baby has dropped the serviette and they quickly gave us new one without asking and they noticed that we are out of water and came refill without having to ask for it.
Excellent food. Went to TQR for dinner on Saturday night.I had booked a table but still had to wait 20 minutes. Staff were very apologetic . The restaurant was very busy. We had the banquet which was delicious. Every course was tasty and fresh. The service was good and staff friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant
Excellent. I ate here on Tuesday night with 2 others. Now I know it must be hard for them to compete with Itsara Thai next door as that place is amazing but they did a pretty good job =)
The tasting plate for entree was a pleasant surprise as tasting plates can be quite hit and miss but this was delicious. The vegetarian curry was probably my favourite with a decadent, thick sauce and the seafood claypot was amazing as well. Not bad prices. Just a simple Vietnamese restaurant but maybe slightly better than your average Northbridge ones =)
Liked it a lot. Friendly service, very welcoming, nice ambience ie not your typical dark and narrow place. It's child friendly although not particularly pram-friendly - however owner gave us a great spot where baby slept undisturbed for an hour.
Dishes: mixed entree was brilliant, nice combination of foods and flavours. Seafood in clay pot was excellent value for money and wonderful taste. Saigon style pork was in comparison less extraordinary, but the tastes and flavours were still lovely.
Unfortunately we were too full for desert but will definitely be coming back.
Not your average Vietnamese. Having had lots of pho and broken rice, TQR wasn't what i was expecting. I'm not qualified to comment on whether the food is authentic Vietnamese or not. Either way the food was great. The dishes are reasonably sized and tasty. We had a few dishes that were familiar ie the Vietnamese beef stew and grilled lemongrass pork chops and they were instantly recognisable but done with a bit more sophistication than your usual pho store. The charcoal duck salad was well executed, perfectly cooked duck, crispy salad that was well dressed but not saturated and overpowered. No problems with waitpersons, who were friendly and competent. The prices are reasonable for Perth. Overall a very pleasant experience. Will definitely return
Fabulous food always above expectations. Lovely staff and owners always make you welcome.
Good stuff. Cosy (and yet spacious with all the different spaces in the venue) and welcoming, complete with a fish tank and fairy lights. Young families, students and couples can all be found here on a Friday night. The food is reliable, honest and cheerful; and BYOB makes for a lovely evening with friends.
Consistent food & great value. I go to TQR a lot and have never been dissapointed. Favourites are the TQR special spring rolls, black pepper squid & BBQ pork.
Wait staff are always good and BYO makes it a cheap night out.
Loved it!. Three of us were in the mood for Vietnamese last night and we weren't disappointed. It was our first time here and we will definitely be back. We had the mixed entree plate and stuffed chicken wings to start - really good, with lots of dipping sauces. Crispy boneless duck, barramundi green curry and hor fun noodles for main course were delicious. Great produce, really well cooked and beautifully presented. Could not ask for more. We decided to share chocolate mousse and sticky rice with banana and ice cream for dessert. What a great way to end a great meal. Loved it. Will be back.
Vegetarians: try asking for a Vietnamese-style vegetarian salad. It has consistently been superb and should definitely be added to the menu. Bon appetit!
Consistently good. We go to TQR for take-out, but will start dining in as the ambience is great, service fast and the food hard to fault for a medium-priced Vietnamese restaurant. Never had a bad meal here, in years.
One of the best asian resturants around! my friend talked me into this , now im glad that i went. Not too pricey pretyy cheap, great cuisine and such friendly service especialy the boss .., i think it was? Anyways great cuisine & lovely and warm

Always good!. We have dined here frequently over many years. The food has always been tasty , good value and being a BYO, the evening becomes very affordable. The service always friendly and efficient .
They are open when others frequently aren't ( Eg, Monday nights ! ) and are flexible with their dining times so will take bookings later than most.
They have recently expanded into the next door area and have redecorated- it's fun , simple and immaculate.
Had another very good meal there on Monday night , so will be back again and again.
Fresh food and good quality. I've been here a few times and always had an enjoyable meal. The dishes are fresh and tasty but not necessarily traditional Vietnamese.
I had the satay chicken for entree which was excellent, and steamed fish in ginger for mains, which wasn't on the menu but they did anyway. They usually serve this as fried fish with ginger. The Chilli Prawns were also very good.
In addition the portion sizes are generous, which isn't usually a big thing for me, but was nice as the food is quality. Service however can be a little scratchy at times.

Food good, service slow. Food at this place was pretty good. Cheap and cheerful though the service was a bit slow. Our mains took a while to come out and it may be due to the fact that we ordered a selection of entrees and they seemed to take a while to come out and that may have held up the mains. And it was fairly busy. Entrees were nice and i had the seadfood clay pot. Overall this dish was a bit too sweet for me but was still nice and I picked out all the seafood. Fish did have that "fishy" taste which made me think it was probably a poor quality fish fillet and perhaps the fillet not prepared correctly (i.e. had the grey fish meat which is where the fishy tastes comes from). Overall good and would dine again but not order the claypot. The duck dish was the stand out though, will order that one next time I think.
Yummy!. Popped in for quick and easy Friday night dinner. Black Pepper Squid for entree was outstanding but rather surprising: fresh pieces of baby squid, battered and fried in pepper and spices. Much more was consumed that was strictly needed.. More pedestrian Vietnamese dishes followed: lemongrass chicken and chilli beef but were not dissapointed either on flavor or quality. Fresh vegies, beautiful quality meat and so fast and clean.

Giant Garlic Prawns. Opted for an easy going meal with the boyfriend this weekend. Prompt service, Dont think I have ever received entrees that fresh and fast in my life. The spring rolls were chock full of fresh ingredients, not just rice noodle filler and the salt and pepper squid was fresh, not the least bit chewy. Very decent sized garlic prawns, same for the seafood claypot, both sans msg which is great for someone who is allergic such as myself. Not the finest of dining, but for those nights where you want a simple meal, laughs and to be able to bring your own beer.
Good food, good value. It's a very noisy restaurant and the service is a little hit and miss but the food is terrific. The accoustics make conversation difficult and weather permitting the outdoor area at the rear is the place to be - but that also means you have to struggle to get the attention of the waiters. it is licensed ( small range of wines) but for small corkage you can bring your own. Its an extensive menu and very well priced with quality food and fresh ingredients. Its not going to win a gold plate but it is very good eating!
Had the raw beef salad, sizzling lamb, salt and back pepper squid.
I highly recommend any of the sizzling dishes (personally, I think beef might be the best combination). The sizzling dishes have a sweet sauce that's really delicious and good to pair with rice. The lamb has a little more lamb smell/taste which is why I recommend trying the beef/chicken instead.
Raw beef salad was very flavourful while the squid was decently tasty with sufficient seasoning and could be great when paired with flavourful dishes.
Great service from the waitresses as well!
Will come back again to try other dishes and the sizzling dish!
We enjoyed their delicious "shaking beef" and Vietnamese style kebabs on skewers. Generous serves and cheerful service at reasonable prices. Will return to try more dishes. Highly recommended.
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant, as the food came fast, the service was good and the food tasted amazing. I had an amazing worker as my waiter, he was polite and quick. Overall amazing experience.
My family has been ordering takeaway from TQR for years. Beautiful family business with a huge range of tasty meals. Lots of vegetarian options which is great.
Salt and pepper squid, followed by kippers and ice cream. What's not to like! Larry is very professional, and always looks out for his guests.
This place has been there for years, but my first time dining here. Service was good, food came out fast and resturant setup was ok. Parking behind the restaurant. The menu wasn't very traditional more adjusted to the Australian palette. The portions were small to average and flavours were not strong. Presentation was ok but with lettuce leaves. No complaints, but just feedback as we did enjoy our evening with a medium group of 11 people.
