I have chicken tikka garlic bread naan I need masala Dal Makhani dal tadka chocolate banana shake with best quantity and quality in nedlands
Sublime food We had the goat and vegetable jalfrezi Superbly crafted dishes and beutifully presented Our compliments to the chef and staff Without doubt an industry leader in every department Congrats our rarely awarded aaa rating
Very fresh amazing curries. Good quality, full of flavour and beautiful tender chicken and lamb. Nan bread lovely. Recommend highly. Have had 4 curries in last few weeks and quality has not faltered. A must try!!! We will be back very soon. Suggestion-Have a night at the Windsor Theatre and finish with a beautiful curry.
First time to this venue, food was very tasty, large fresh portions! service was friendly ( maybe a little slow) well priced, definitely will be back 😀
The best Indian food I have eaten. I left feeling satisfied but not too full. Nice to be able to get some steamed vege to balance out the richer dishes. The restaurant also has reasonably priced drinks. Leave some room for dessert, it was the highlight. Especially the carrot pudding.
This place looks great! The decor is really nice and the chairs are comfortable and the staff are attentive. We ordered the Butter chicken which was tender and delicious although a little sweet. The Lamb Karahi was falling apart and the sauce was tasty but was lacking abit of heat. The Palak paneer was the absolute standout!! Beautifully baked ricotta in an amazing spinach and spices sauce. And its BYO! Winner!
We enjoy going to Maharajah! The staff are genuinely welcoming and that sets the mood.
Good range of dine-in and take-away dishes as well as the expected condiments. I prefer the tomato-based sauces to their creamy ones. We are working our way through the beef and chicken menus and enjoying everything so far.
Great flavours and textures. Only downside - sometimes the naan has been burnt which is disappointing, and samosas can have an overly salty tang as if they have been dusted with salt.
Popped in for a meal with my partner on a Thursday night. This place is just consistent with food and service. Our waiter & waitress were both great, the food was plentiful and delicious and they offered containers to take the rest home.
There's nothing to fault really.
Upon going to the counter to pay ...the owner popped out to find out if we enjoyed it and if everything was good, really friendly service. A+
My family and I have been going to maharajah for years and we all love it. The wait staff are always accommodating and the food hits the spot every time. We've never had a bad meal. To add to this the chairs are possibly the most comfortable chairs in the world!
I have one gripe from my latest experience, after waiting 45 minutes for our meal, the head waiter could see something had been miscommunicated from us to waiter. Aka our order had been screwed up. By this point we were famished! Another 10-15 minutes went by and we were becoming a bit delirious(okay we're not in a 3rd word dying of malnutrition, but by 1st standards we were hungry!!!), I guess we thought that they could have accommodated us by giving a couple more papadums or maybe some complimentary entree.
Nothing was spared for the hungry. No discount. No free glasses/glass of wine. No dessert. This was a bit disappointing. Alas still a great meal but perhaps something for the restaurant to think about. I can't imagine the Nedlands and Dalkeith folk being as understanding as us.
Thursday night "date night" and Maharaja did not disappoint! The samosa entre was lovely (we did have a giggle about the bright green sauce it was served with though... must've dropped the food colouring!!!) and the curries were both top notch in terms of authentic flavour (chicken korma and Goan fish curry) however the chicken was unfortunately overcooked and too dry. But the desserts were, completely unexpectedly TO DIE FOR. Now I almost never eat desert I'm just not huge on sweet stuff in general. But really, I was completely taken aback with my "carrot" pudding seriously wow... the only issue was I couldn't finish it (full!!!) And hubby's mango lassi was also... completely surprisingly beautifully done.
Now, the decor was pretty reminiscent of fancy Indian joints, lots of kitsch lavish fabrics gilt and pictures of Indian aristocratics adorned the surrounding walls... an overly extravagant feel to it. The seating was the best... super comfortable and beautiful.
Now to the price... all this, a glass of wine each included, add rice and endless supply of pappadams (which we found very funny) and we paid the $60 bill with a sense of very full tummies and almost full wallets! Best value for money out for two people dinner in Perth so far - we were soooooo happy. We'll easily drop $100-150 at dinner usually. So we thanked the team and passed on our best to the chefs on departure. Overall a great night out at an amazing price.
We were really surprised by this place, when we first went in the atmosphere was a little bit quiet (maybe because it was a Sunday night) but that was more than made up for by the food. Some of the best Indian I've had in Perth and I will definitely be back. The staff were very friendly and the whole place is very comfortable. Do yourself a favour and go! PS. The place we went to was the new restaurant in Applecross ...
On the 27/9/15 (Sunday evening) group of 4 of us thought we'd give this restaurant a try. We arrived and was shown a choice of 2 tables, 1 near the window unset or another in the middle of the room set and ready to be used. Thought that was a bit strange to be offered an unset table so we took the second option. The wait staff took our order in a timely manner and explained the dishes when asked about them which was good. The mixed stater was rather small for the price and to be honest we've had better in other indian restaurants. The mains on the other hand had a very good sauce to meat ratio. And plenty of rice for the 4 of us. The flavor of each dish was pretty good and each had its own distinct taste. The nan breads had a lovely buttery taste as well. All in all the food wasnt to bad. The only 2 issues we had was the wait staff need to look like they want to be there, smile at your customers make them feel like you want to do your job and are happy to be there and the there was the bill. Now i did say the food wasnt to bad but for what we had it wasn't worth the price we had to pay. We have eaten better indian food and paid alot less. If you're prepared to pay give it ago.
Best Indian food I've had in the Southern Hemisphere. I still can't quite get my head around why all the best restaurants in this part of town cluster along a busy main road in what looks like a trading estate, but who cares when the food is this good and the atmosphere so enjoyable.
A beautiful dining room that was packed to the rafters, without compromising on service quality. We were seated promptly by a delightful and accommodative host, who then delegated our care to two of the friendliest young waitresses in the city.
The curries were generous and exceptionally tasty, both classics and more adventurous alike. The accompaniments were all excellent, the rice choices worthy of particular note.
Really imaginative cooking and stunning food. Go tonight!
GO! Amazing food- ambience beautiful! Staff gorgeous! Butter chicken/fish korma/prawn masala/rogan josh and alam ghali (potatoes)to die for......highly recommend
Great food and great enviroment !!!. Been there on 17th of April with some mates for dinner.Food was excellent and service was good as well with perfect enviroment. If you love indian desserts than try their gulab jamun and gajar ka halwa because they made own not from ready made tins.
The best. This has to be hands down the best Indian restaurant in Perth. I have tried many places, but I always leave this place feeling full, my mouth swimming with flavour! Definitely worth a visit.
Anonymous food. Dined on stormy weekend.enjoyed Indian curries. So yummy

Nice. Very nice experience, authentic food. Like it.

Excellent food in Perth. I ever had really the flavour of Indian spices. Love it..
Excellent food but be aware it is a restaurant is designed more for dinner for two or more, not eating by yourself. The portion sizes and decor also reflect that. Service pleasant.
The only restaurant in Perth comparable to the Royal India. The son has taken over business and improved the ambience and decor and now it is full house. I really enjoy the curries, the thick sauces warm you up and are very tasty. Service, however, needs just a little more finesse and Indian restaurants should do away w/ the cold salad side dishes or offer it with a little more elegance. Overall though, forgetting slight breakdown of service on busy nights, definitely one of the best Indian experiences in Perth, and with a discount voucher, beautifully priced.
Simply the best!. I have been to this indian restaurant many times and it never lets me down.
The food is the best indian in Perth that I have found so far, the curries are always the same quality made with good meat and they use chicken breast not thigh meat, the sauces are tasty n thick, never greasy or watery. The staff are always friendly and attentive even when I have used a voucher or entertainment book. The restaurant itself has been upgraded with good quality furnishings.
Wonderful!. Beautiful atmosphere, amazing service, and best of all- delicious Indian food at affordable prices! There were also lots of options for vegetarians.
The chefs clearly use quality, fresh ingredients. Highly recommended!
Mmmmm.... I am a new comer to Indian food and definitely enjoyed this experience. We ate here with a group of 9 family members and so we got to taste many of the dishes by ordering shared platters. My favourite was the lamb Korma. My kids who normally won't eat anything spicy, enjoyed the butter chicken. We got a very nice table with ample room for all of us and we enjoyed the beautiful setting. I was glad for the opportunity to introduce my kids to Indian food in such a pleasant way and am looking forward to eating at Maharajah again.
Excellent food in a beautiful environment. Tasty, good quality Indian food with great flavors. Friendly, prompt service. Professional and personable wait staff.
Sumptuous Setting. We just dined at the Maharaja Indian Restaurant. The decor is very luxurious and table settings feel intimate. The staff are fantastic and very attenttive. We were impressed when the Manager took time to visit our table personally and ensure that we were happy. The food was delicious and served in a very pleasant respectful manner. We have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant and will be returning next time with more guests for sure. Thank you
Consistent Food and Good Service. This remind me of the higher end indians in the U.K.
Very much the expat seen. Good prices for the food and the service.
The food is generally excellant but think they may be trying to compromise a little in tough times to fill the space. Go back to the same richness and advertise outside the suburb.
Although it can be a big pricier than other Indian restaurants, it is definitely worth it. I have been getting take out/eating here for years and it is by far the best Indian I have ever had
Very nice new fit out plush chairs soft lighting. Fabulous service quick and attentive (we were on way to cinema next door) Food a bit bland but good probably made for Australian tastes. In the entertainment book
Fabulous Indian. Last Friday, we used our Scoopon and was delighted with out luncheon experience. From entering the restaurant, the staff could not do enough for us. The food was superb, the service excellent and could not fault the food. We enjoyed the platter for 2 for entree, naan bread, delicious curries and warm carrot pudding served with icecream that is superb.
So nice to go to a restaurant, leaving totally satisfied and looking forward to returning again.

Great Indian. One of my favourite Indian Restaurants in Perth.
Although the decor is a bit outdated and service is a bit lacking, I always leave feeling satisfied! Their curries are full flavoured and serving portions are generous.
I also love their rice pudding dessert, a must have every time I visit.
Went to this restaurant with a scoopon. Good service, great food!
Great Indian food! They only use chicken breast which is a plus! Curries aren't watered down to suit the western palate!
Really nice food and ambience. Service a little muddled.
I find in Australia there isn't as many good indian places as England. After trying many and being so disappointed - this one I enjoyed, is my face in Perth and we go here all the time. Little bit pricey but worth it, the staff are lovely as well :)
Excellent food in terms of quality, quantity, service & ambience. Party of 5 with 1 child with allergies. Was able to accommodate the allergy well. Chicken 65 was outstanding. Entree platter, Mysore lamb were very good. Parathas were very good. Naan was OK.

Have they changed chefs, if so bring back the old one!!!!. This has always been in my opinion the best Indian restaurant in Perth but my last visit was very disappointing. The wait staff did not seem to want to take our order (even though there were no other customers waiting!!) The food was not as good as it used to be. Please bring back the old chef and old waitresses who used to be fabulous.
Will try it one more time as will miss the old standard!!!

Best Indian in Perth. Coming from the UK originally we are massive Indian fans. We have searched high and low and been to nearly every Indian Restaurant in Perth! This one is the best, I believe the owner used to run a restaurant in the UK previously.
Try it you wont be disappointed, fantastic chicken tikka masala and the kids love the butter chicken/makani. Onion bhajis could do with being a bit bigger though!
Tasty food, good price. Got takeaway from here tonight; the prices were lower than what was listed on the site which was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately however, the entertainment discount cannot be used for takeaway but the prices weren't too bad considering.
The food was pretty good; we had a chicken 65 for entrees which was pretty average but for mains we had a chicken tikka masala, a lamb korma, a garlic naan and a serve of saffron rice. All of the food was very nice and all up cost us under $60 which we felt was good value.
Overall we would definitely be back, my only very minor qualm was that there were NO FREE PAPPADUMS!!!! I love my pappadums and I have found them usually included for free from most indian takeaways and I know this is only a very minor complaint and probably quite petty of me but I just love my complimentary pappadums!! But nonetheless i was satisfied with this meal :)
You really have to try the Chicken 61.... Very lovely restaurant with friendly and welcoming staff. Highlight of the meal was the Chicken 61 and oh the Kulfi! The Kulfi was a big punch of spices at first but leaves a very satisfying and sweet end to the meal. Thanks Maharaja!
Delicious, authentic and yummy!. Absolutely LOVE this place. Eaten here lots of times and the food is always flavoursome and fresh. Friendly staff, lovely and clean, prices reasonable.
We did have one not so pleasant experience here once but that wasn't the restaurant's fault - a noisy academic crowd from the uni were being particularly loud and obnoxious spoiling the evening for those of us at nearby tables. I guess no-one wanted to say anything because a certain Labour politician of enormous proportions and a mouth to match was heading up the group - fortunately he now lives in Washington so it should be safe to return.
Nice food. Went for dinner with my husband with scoopon, the food are excellent... bigger portion than normal Indian restaurant. The service a bit slow. But we love the food, we will come back for sure!!
Yummy. I think service can be a little slower than desired sometimes but the food really suits my palate. Their spinach paneer was good, so was their butter chicken, mushroom curry and naan (those were what I had which I thought was memorable).
Will return
Dropped in for a quiet weeknight meal and was impressed by the food. Good selection of food on the menu, food arrived pretty quickly and servings on the generous side! Good indian in my book.
Excellent!. We dined at Majarja on Friday evening using a scoopon deal and enjoyed a fantastic meal coupled with great service.
We were seated on a very nice table for two, not put in the corner or treated any differently despite us using a scoopon.
The starter platter was beautiful and full of flavour, it was also BIG we couldnt eat it all!
For mains we choose chicken jal frezi and mysore lamb. The chicken was so fresh tasting, the spice level was just right = beautiful! The lamb was melt in your mouth with an intense flavour, again very fresh tasting. These dishes were served with rice (a very large portion) and one nann bread, all of which were served very promptly and very hot.
Pudding was ice-cream (again a large portion) and kofe, both of which were faultless.
We both really enjoyed our meal here and will def return at some point although we live 30km away. The staff were friendly, the environment was excellent and the food was some of the best Indian food Ive eaten since moving to Perth.
My only negative about the meal was that all the dishes were served on cold plates so whilst the food was hot when it arrived at your table, it didnt stay that hot for long due to the air con and cold plates.
Free parking at the back of the building is available but limited.
Quality Experience. Love this restaurant.
The decor and ambience are quality. The food is delicious and good value.
I have been on 3 occasions over the last 5 years - the last time with the Scoopon. The service has always the same - excellent. You will not find may restaurants in Perth that are this consistent.
Always a good Indian meal. We dine here as a large group with our family regularly and have never had anything to complain about. The service is friendly and prompt and the food is great.
The variety of indian curries and side dishes are more than adequate and the flavours are superb.
"If it ain't broke dont fix it"..... we'll keep coming back..
No complaints !!. Visited for the first time after watching a film next door at the Windsor
Restaurant was very busy ( Friday night) but we were made to feel very welcome and told we would be seated as soon as possible - which indeed happened at a table normally reserved for a group of 4-6
Food was impeccable
Service excellent
Price surprisingly good
Ordered entrees of Fish Amritsari ( great for a fledgling fish eater like myself) and mixed samosas
Chicken Dansak and Navrattan Korma (veg) were our choice for the main course with of course the naan , paratha and pickles to accompany
Very nice experience and a definite 'Go Again'
Nice place and good food. Went there at last minute without reservation. The staff still get us a table, service were great. Everyone should try entree 'Chicken51'. It savoury dish has sourly taste which open your appetite before move on to the mains. One of the fish entree which I forgot what is the name was nice as well. Order lamb rogan josh, unfortunately I am not fancy about this dish. The lamb smell is stronger than other place I ate, but my friends love it. Garlic and chilli prawn extremely hot but no one can taste the garlic. On the other hand, chicken and vege dishes were great, everyone finish the dishes at the end.
Better than I expected. I could easily complain about the service and the decor, there's nothing contemporary about the place whatsoever, but the mains were tasty and intense in terms of flavour. It was predictable, but not disappointing. The naan and raita left a little to be desired.
It's a forgettable experience, I'm probably not going back in a hurry, but there was nothing drastically bad about it either. It fits the bill of your local indian, albeit on the pricier side.
Delicious!. We love Maharaja! We dine here for many of our family special occasions. For other times when we want great food (but as we're on a tight budget) we take-away and have a picnic at Matilda Bay, or go to Moonlight outdoor cinema at Kings Park (both only 5 mins away) - we get 2 meat, rice, naan and pappadums for under $50 (a bargain from premium food). We rate the "lamb korma" and "chicken makhani" (like butter chicken) especially highly. When dining in, service is attentive and very pleasant (without being awkwardly over-intrusive etc). Best Indian we've found in WA (and beleive me, we've been many, many places).
Excellent service, food came out quickly and was very tasty.
Delicious food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Delicious food ,very friendly staff and grate customer service ..
