Popped in for a light lunch and a refreshing beverage on Wednesday - great place and fab food! The staff are tops, too!

Not a bad Italian spot with a relaxed vibe! I was in a little bit of a rush but tried the 🦀 crab linguine and it’s enjoyable and delicious. Will come back👌
Great coffee, amazing breakfasts! Was really happy to find out that this great little venue is now open for breakfast as we’ve been here for dinner and loved it. This is a great addition to the Hampden Rd strip.
La Lola what an absolute find with an amazing menu. Simply sumptious Italian that delivers flavour in every bite. Our large group ordered the antipasto platters to start with what a huge variety to choose from with the best Arancini ever !!!!! I tried the home made ravioli and gnocchi being of Italian descent these dishes were on par to Nonna's just sensational. All dishes were truly made with the best ingredients. There is some serious talent and creativity in the La Lola kitchen. La Lola is perfect for group bookings and service was a delight and personable, ladies huge credit and thanks from everyone in our group of 14. The group then sampled the huge array of desserts again the magic followed on, the tiramisu and pannacotta were just decadent not to mention all the other desserts the group shared. Almost too beautiful to eat !!! Do yourself a favour you have to go there !!!! Outstanding on all levels. Thanks La Lola we will BE BACK !!!!!!!! PS your private function room is one of the best in Perth what a great touch !!!!!!
Came here for work lunch and everyone was very happy with their food and dessert. Excellent customer service. Will return and recommend to friends and family
Sensational pasta, I normally order the parpadelle pasta with a ragu- one of the best pasta dishes in Perth. One of my old favourites before they closed down, I’m glad they reopened.
This place rates high in my books for great Italian. All entrees and mains were delicious, each mouthful was a delight. My main was gnocchi with braised duck & mixed mushrooms - gnocchi was pillowy soft and best I've eaten. Compliments were given for the other mains - ravioli, pappardelle & pasta of the day. Left extremely happy that I chose to make a reservation here and will definitely return again. Hosts were warm, friendly, and catered very well to their patrons which added to the overall experience. Love the intimate space too. My new fav Italian eatery
There seems to be two La Lola Zomato pages but that’s okay - will post on this one. Lovely food, service and dinner ambience. Concise menu that let’s you know that what they do, they do well. Duck (was the special of the day) was lovely. Lasagna was good as well. Will return.
Romantic atmosphere, we got seated out the back which was a semi private room. Started with some garlic focaccia and eggplant parmigiana for entree. Order the pasta’s they are perfectly al dente’ especially tasty with a glass of Clare Valley Cab Sav. Finish off with something sweet (The perfectly moist chocolate Torta).
Absolutely love LaLolas!
Everything from the warm bread with olives for entree to our potato pizza and gnocchi, through to dessert the warmed chocolate cake- was SO DELISH! Highly recommend- you honestly cannot be disappointed by the food here! Always been a great spot- so glad it’s a good as it was previously.
Only negative tables are close together- but worth the squish for such a yummy meal!
Dined here for my colleague's farewell lunch. Service was fantastic, staffs were attentive and have a great sense of humour. I ordered the fresh in house made gnocchi and it was so good. It's just like chewing on a small fluffy cloud that melts in your mouth. My colleague ordered the pappardelle la lola and it was equally good. We also ordered a bottle of wine and tiramisu to complete the whole la lola experience.
Amazing! Love this little place. Best pasta I've had in a long time. Decent size dishes. Excellent wine selection. Perfect for a sneaky lunch time date 👌🍝🍷
My wife and I have eaten at Lola's close to 12 times in the last two years.
They always get Top Marks for: quality of food because they give a lot of attention to the pasta dishes (fresh, daily prepared, and likely local ingredients) and the even the small things(salads, bread appetizers). My wife's favorite dishes are the Fishes of the Day(e.g. Salmon Steak with Vegetables). My favorites are the Pasta Dishes that have Mixed Seafood, Fish or Clam. In regards to Service, one time I was served up a Pasta with Clam and Chillies that nearly burned my tounge off.. So I asked if it could to be returned to the kitchen, and replaced, and Lola's waiter did 'toute suite sir' with no Questions Asked. That demonstrates excellent customer care (and common sense). My only complaint is that sometimes the servings seem to have been downsized over time--unless its an illusion created by expanding their diameter of plates. So good marks for consistently good food quality and for care for the customer. However, we will continue to visit Lola's whenever we want a guaranteed fine dining experience.
Beef carpaccio is second to none here. A must. This is a neighbourhood gem. A small but well thought out selection of wine to accompany the simple but delightful menu. Reasonable in price, decent service. We need more restaurants like this.
Food still good but........ Have not been here for about six months so when we turned up at 6.10pm on a Saturday night and was asked by maitre d' " do you have a booking?" And we said "oh we didn't think you can book?" And we were told "Yes you can since November last year!!" And we were directed to the very first table outside, next to the "please wait to be seated" sign and was informed that's their last table! We set down and ordered our drinks and food etc.
In the next 20 minutes 2 groups of two, one group of 4 and one group of 3 fronted up and all were asked the same question - " do you have a booking" they all said NO, but the same maitre d' said "let me check" and miraculously all were found tables away from us!!! So maybe they did some quick extension in the last 20 mins or there were lots of cancelations??
From the entire time we were having our meal, the table next to us was still vacant. So when my husband went up to pay he politely mention to the cashier that the food was still great but seriously they should sort out this " sorry this is the last table issue" but all were found tables inside. The cashier had no idea that had happened!
So don't be polite and accept the supposedly last table but insist that they check and get a better table inside! Maybe the maitre d' didn't like what we were wearing or the look of us .
The best gluten free pasta I have ever had. This coeliac has missed a decent pasta meal and la Lola will definitely satisfy every non gluten eaters pasta needs! Great service, can't wait to go back.
La Lola la Lola don't know what to say about this place. We rocked in there on Friday night for 4 at 8pm it was buzzing . The food was so good I wish I could of eaten more, the wait staff are very attentive and efficient . One of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time. We will be back there soon. 10/ 10 la Lola keep up the good work.
Great food, attentive wait staff, pleasant ambiance. Would definitely go again though its not a cheap night out.
We arrived for dinner on a Wednesday night for our date night and given option of sitting inside or outside straight away. We chose outside. Enjoyed a great meal with good service. I wouldn't say the staff were overly friendly but very efficient. The carpaccio and arancini balls were great. The carpaccio melted in our mouths. I ordered the barramundi special and really enjoyed it.
Response to Brenda 15/02/14. In response to Brenda's review on La Lola dated the 15th Feb 2014, I, as part owner/manager, I would like to put forward my opinion on Brendas review.
Brenda and her husband arrived at 7.15pm and asked for a table for 2.
As we were at capacity, being Valentines Day, the Head Waiter advised them that there is a 45 min wait, they said its fine and their name was placed on our waiting list.
They arrived back at 7.45pm and were taken to their table.
At 7.51, a drink order was taken and sent to the table
At 7.58, their food order was taken which consisted of 1 entrée followed by 2 main meals.
At 8.20pm, their entrée was served, which took 9 to 10 minutes to consume bringing it now to 8.30pm
The main meal was called at 8.41pm to the kitchen to commence cooking
At 9.06pm the main meals were ready to be taken to the table.
At 9.08, they came to pay saying the babysitter had rung with a problem, and they had waited far too long so I apologised, deducted their main meals and told them I would speak to the staff concerned at the end of the evening.
I believe the problem lies with the fact that the wait time was not 2 hours as stated by Brenda but just over 1 hour, the fact she chose to wait 45 minutes as stated in her review.
Also, if you felt that a 45 minute wait for a table was too long a wait, you simply, for whatever reason, could have told us that you cannot wait that long.
In conclusion, I normally would not respond to reviews, but after this was bought to my attention, I felt that my personal and the restaurants reputation were treated unfairly and decided to put forward my point of view.
I have also included photos of the table dockets and the time they were taken for Brenda to view.
Regards
Tom Dippolito
La Lola
This restaurant has got it! Great service, great atmosphere and the food is fantastic.
Henryfoodman got it wrong!. We regularly dine at La Lola. It's probably our favourite restaurant in Perth. The food is consistently of a high standard. But the service is what makes it stand out.
We read Henryfoodman's review of La Lola and felt compelled to respond to set the record straight.
It's ridiculous to compare La Lola to the Albion Pub. If you're looking to spend $17 for a steak/beer combo this is probably not the restaurant for you. You'd better try Thornlie Sizzler or the Armadale pub.
As for the description of the duck ravioli as being "bland" and "rich" at the same time. That's an oxymoron if I've ever heard of one.
We find it hard to believe that the issues that Henryfoodman supposedly raised with the waitstaff went unaddressed. The service is one of the major drawcards of this establishment. They are always welcoming and attentive. In particular the maître d' keeps an eye over all tables and frequently checks with customers to ensure that the meals are to their satisfaction. The staff seem to genuinely take pride in their presentation and service.
We guess that "Henryfoodman" is probably more likely to be "HenrywhoworksatPetiteMortasthekitchenhandandtheypayhimtowritenegativereviewsaboutrivalbusinesses".
Don't be dissuaded from going here. It's great. One of the best Italian restaurants in Perth.
A Team
It's good. Service is friendly and attentive. Good is solid, if perhaps a little under seasoned; however, the quality salt and pepper at the table took care of that. That said, the beverage prices are off the chart, which is at least consistent with the food menu prices too. So, overall while I enjoyed my meal believe it wasn't the greatest 'valued' experience.
Nice meals and friendly service but portion size is small when you consider the price. Beautiful food.
Simple elegance. Lovely meal here tonight. Grilled veal with a salad of fennel and rocket. Simple, but beautiful. Nice atmosphere and service. Will be back.
Great Little Place. We got a spot out the back. The food was awesome. The service was great. It's a bit hard to find the little place but it's really worth the effort to find. Get in....
AMAZING!. Devine Devine Devine! Very very pricey however for a decent meal and great service i dont mind. The Service was impeccable but not overbearing. Cute Actually. Wine flowed, orders were taken promptly and food came out at perfect time. The restuarant was full and we werent forgotten. The food was outstanding, I had the Pollo and the potato was insane! Mt girldfriend had the steak which was cooked to perfection. I wanted the profiteroles but decided on a monday night i should not have three courses! But i will be back and very soon. One of the best restaurants in perth hands down. Simple traditional italian. win win win
Expensive but the best Italian in Perth. Been here several times and tried a lot of dishes and have found every dish to be special. Yum!
Went to La Lola last night. The food and service were brilliant. The food was a bit expensive, but still good value for money. They cram you in, so it can be a bit tight, but we had to wait for a table as it is, soon prefer to be cramped rather than wait longer if there were less tables.
Last night we visited La Lola
Good quality italian, great service. As the hype has died down a little there was no wait (which perhaps has put others off in the past, I believe if you have had to wait a long time for a table anywhere of course you'll be inclined to more critical, you're hungry and disgruntled!), promptly taken to our table by the senior waiter, who was attentive and friendly to our table all night. Bruschetta is a must try - a very good take on an old classic, beautifully flavoursome and the bread was perfect - not too soggy or too thick. Generous meat portions, special mention to the pork steak with apple (preferable to the pork fillet if you're not sure which to try!). Overall a very pleasing midweek meal.
Excellent Food and Service. My second visit to La Lola the food again was excellent and the service very good. Highly recommended...
Still great. Went to La Lola again and still lovely. The service was great, one of the waiters was a laugh and a half, and the food was lovely. The pappardelle is my favourite still, took a little while but it's not McDonalds so I am happy to wait a little for great food.
Price is a little higher than I would like but hey, it's Perth, we pay a lot for bad food and service so to get good food for the same price is refreshing.
A bit of a wait for the food but it was tasty. Had the barramundi, delish. Portions were quite small though
Still first class. Went back to La Lola this evening for dinner with friends who are also la Lola regulars. This place is just consistently excellent. Great food & probably the best service in town . Can't go past the pork chop which tonite was good but just a tiny bit overvcooked. Calamari to die for and the carpaccio of beef the best I have had anywhere . The tiramisu was ordered with 4 spoons as only 2 of us wanted it. We ordered another one as it was just first class. Can't wait to go back again,.
-----23 Dec, 2012-----
Fabulous. Great restaurant fabulous service.one of the best restaurants in Perth. Melbourne class. Thoroughly recommend this even though you cannot book in the evening but worth the wait if you have to queue.
Excellent service, good food but expensive. Two of my friends and I went there last Saturday. We shared an entree, Arancini for $14.50, a bottle of Pinot, and Budino for dessert ($15.50). My friend ordered linguine with chunky pieces of seafood that looks really fresh. Although it is under the mains section, the portion is entree size. I ordered the steak of the day ($39) which was excellent and reasonable portion. My other friend ordered the fish of the day for ($39). For 3 people, the total bill is approx $230+. The place is a bit small but the ambiance is fantastic. The service is excellent - especially the wait person who attended to us.
Great food. You can't judge a book by it's cover! This place looks like a cafe but the food is superb! The duck ravioli was sublime. The chocolate crime brûlée desert was decadent. Good service and good wine . I will definitely be back.
Amazing food, had the duck ravioli and veal parpadeli ... Yummo !! Tiny portion for the price but... Thought it was meant to be a trattoria ?? But all good!
Italian at Best. October 2012. What a great find. Every thing was very tasty and service excellent, even till 11.00pm. Chicken, Veal and Pork all so well done and presented.
Always Wonderful. This is a regular little haunt for me. The service is always teriffic and professional, and the food superb!!
Must haves are the beef carpaccio laden with capers, truffle oil and parmesan and the buffalo mozzarella with fennel salad and white anchovies. The homemade pasta is always beautifully cooked and perfectly seasoned. I can never go past the Parpadelle with veal and porcini ragu.
Quite simply, it is beautiful, honest Italian food made with love. Enjoy!!
Great atmosphere, delightful food and great wine list. Recommend the calamari. We had very good service too!
Went last night had the special a braised rabbit pasta it was superb all three of us had fantastic food no complaints will be back
Steady Quality Food. We have been to this place many times. The quality of the food is always good. Never had a bad dish. I certainly will recommend this place.
Delicious. Love this place. The calamari is delicious. I had the veal papadelle and highly recommend it. The Italian slaw is a great side. Great atmosphere and nice staff. Definitely going back.
Italian Warmth. Had been here before and was impressed. Then read the preponderance of bad spoon reviews. Went last night for a quick bite before a film. Had the veal papadelle - DElicious also had the slaw salad which was really fresh and lively. Service was spot on and VERY healful. Sure there are some expensive dishes but the quality is there. Just because it's small it doesn't have to be cheap.
8/10 from me.
Yummy! Great service and desserts to die for! The tiramisu is amazing!
Great service, amazing food & good atmosphere. We'll definitely be coming back, loved the authentic Italian food & staff. Only downside was the pricey menu.
Great atmosphere, good food and service. My partner and I ate at La Lola on Saturday night - managed to get a table for two at 6:30 pm - just.....the place was packed. I had the duck salad and my partner the duck linguine. Both meals were very enjoyable. Prices were on par with what you pay in Perth these days. Service was good and atmosphere buzzing. We had an enjoyable evening and would eat here again. What's not to like?
First time here & really enjoyed it! Food was good, great atmosphere, service was ok but nothing startling. Can't believe Perth can charge $39 for a steak, however it was nice. For that price though I would expect there to be fries/vegies included & not available for purchase on the side, but this is the Perth food scene....expensive. We enjoyed La Lola and will return.
Funky very melbourne. I liked! Friendly service didn't have to wait for a table and it was a friday night and food was tasty! Liked the fact they have a room called "the gina room" - ha ha after me:)
Great Service. Apart from excellent food and a very good wine list, the wait staff are professional, knowledgeable and prompt, I always find that if you treat staff well you nearly always get the same back and you do at La Lola
Don't complain I you have to wait. The reason is everyone loves the place so it's hard to get a table.
It costs $4.50 for bread.
The sign of a good restaurant is brilliant food on a Monday night. Went to La Lola this week with the other half and was delighted to find there was a table at this atmospheric restaurant.
This is Melbourne-type dining in an intimate restaurant and it's interesting to note that some of the other reviews don't recognise that you have to sometimes wait for a table in a popular restaurant. There is a trendy bar at the back of La Lola where you can drink champagne and dance all night (under electric candelight) before you dine.
The papardelle main course was hand made and so fresh I could almost see an old Italian mama peeking out from the kitchen. The recommended red wines were also exactly right, one a Margaret River and the other a Montepulciano.
The crispy skin barramundi was fresh, delicious and superbly cooked - unlike some places that serve farmed barramundi with that muddy taste at the same price.
I have to say the distinctly Italian hospitality here was fantastico and the banter with the waitstaff and manager (who is very friendly by the way) was like being in Italy.
Top marks to La Lola for a top dining experience.
Quality Italian food. We went at 9pm and were lucky enough to get a table for two without a wait.
The service the whole night was great. We ordered our wine and were given a bit of extra time to look over the menu. It all sounded good, and I liked the fact that the menu wasn't too dense.
The Linguine pasta dish was served with sautéed prawns, chilli, garlic, tomato concasse and rocket was extremely tasty.
My spinach and ricotta ravioli served with Napoli sauce, fresh ricotta, grated parmesan was also really nice.
Fantastic food, great service from friendly staff. If trying this for the first time look no further than the pappardelle, consistently amazing.
A great experience. La Lola does not take bookings for dinner so we were advised, on phoning the venue, that we would have about a half hour wait for the time we wanted to arrive. We enjoyed a pre dinner drink at a bar across from the restaurant before we received a call to say our table was ready. The service was prompt and efficient. The food was amazing and the atmosphere in the rear lounge, chic and cosy. It was a surprisingly great experience and we will return to try other tantalizing offerings on the menu.
Awesome!. I went to La Lola with some trepidation given the mixed (and extreme) views here.
We got seated right away (but we were two, and it was the night of the royal wedding!). The service was prompt and efficient, but not so attentive as to be annoying. The food was excellent. I had the pumpkin ravioli, and was thrilled. The spaghetti was also clearly homemade, and very good. It is rare to have such good homemade (and perfectly cooked) pasta in Italian restaurants! I also had the pannacotta, which was lovely.
The prices are maybe a bit expensive, but that's just Perth all over, really. My only real complaint, and it's minor one, is that the pannacotta was on the menu as coming with mango, and was in fact served with rhubarb. It peeves me when restaurants specifically list ingredients, and then change them without notifying the customer. But this, in the scheme of things, was not a big issue at all.
Worth a visit - but probably as a smaller group, and on a weekday.
Pizza was nice. I have been here twice, the first time my mum and I shared a pizza and then a tiramisu. The food was great and we really enjoyed it.
The second time I was advised that they no longer do pizza as it was not popular enough. The food (I had the lamb) was nice, but as other people have said, the service was quite brusque.
I have to say though, the tiramisu is the best I have had since I was in Italy.
Lovely Lola. We stopped in for a quick dinner on early on a Friday night (about 6pm) - and were treated to terrific food and brisk but friendly service.
Pappardelle was full of gorgeous meaty flavour - beautifully made pasta and butter-soft veal pieces. The Spinaci salad also got good marks from the vegetarian.
For pasta and salad it was on the expensive side, but would absolutely return for such great quality, and dessert...which we didn't have time for.
PS. The menu has changed since the photo on this page was taken.
We dropped by on a Saturday evening at about 8.30 and were lucky to score a table for two straight up. My boyfriend and I were ushered up to the uber cool back room, which was a secluded and intimate dining space with rich textures and sexy black walls. The food was delicious - tasty and rich in flavour, albeit a little on the pricey side of life, and we LOVED the tiramisu! We'll be back for sure.
Its a bistro not a cafe!. The negative reviewers of La Lola simply don't understand that this place is like half the restaurants in Italy. Its a bistro not a restaurant or cafe. My wife and I go there at least 2 or 3 times a month. Sure its busy, noisy and close and the service can be slow. But its got atmosphere and great great food. Not a place for more than 4 and the fact that its always full says a lot. And the staff are FINE. Its the way you treat them that gets their attention
Delicious Italian meals and beautiful desserts, although pretty tight seating inside.
