Review Felix & Co. Specialty Coffee - Nedlands

Best coffee ever! A cozy place to grab a nice coffee, and meet nice people here. Feel blessed!
Emily Barker
Great coffee, decent non dairy milk options. Great service, fast without feeling like you're being rushed. Not much seating so I'd recommend picking up a coffee rather than hanging out there. It's a nice area to go for a walk if you're catching up with someone though.
Christian Pflüger
My favorite cafe in Perth! Consistency of coffee and the friendliness of the Felix team is extraordinary. Toasties are delicious and the house blend coffee is outrageously good. Sam really knows how to roast the beans and brew the coffee. Dirk and Billy are brilliant chaps. Look at Billy’s latest latte art <3 !!!
Peter H Nguyen
Regular cappuccino or Iced Mochas here are absolutely elite. Delicious smoked ham and cheese toasties and croissants. Shout out to barista Michael, awesome service and remembered my name after one encounter. Highly recommend.

Nice and simple designed cafe on Hampden road. Coffee is on the weaker end. Service could be more friendly. Good range of alternate milks available.

This is a smallish café serving tasty beverages in a friendly setting. The baristas are very welcoming, patient with queries and really interested in explaining about the options on offer. The interactions with all the customers were equally genuine. One of the few places where I was asked if I had visited before and knew the kind of coffee to order. In my opinion that is the best way to get the relationship between a customer and your coffee started.
Mel Scott (Melscottyy)
This place is the best coffee in Nedlands! They have a different blend every day from speciality coffee makers but if you like consistency in your coffee, they also make the regular Felix blend. Felix also buy their baked goods from Mary St bakery and make the best toasties! If you're in the area, grab a coffee and say hey to Mitch and the crew. If you're a regular, they no doubt already know your name and order

Definitely check out Felix & co if you like expertly brewed coffee and an awesome cafe vibe. Heaps of espresso and filter options, excellent friendly and knowledgeable service, and a cool place to hang out all afternoon. The only downside is that it’s so full, but that’s for good reason!
Matt Baker
Best coffee and friendly staff always come for a visit when over from Melbourne, skip dome come here!
Yuri Deans
Best coffee in Perth, the cakes are delicious and the staff are awesome.
David Sansom
One of the best in Perth. A small coffee shop with a great selection of small batch coffee.
Mark Hanna
Love it. Constant quality coffee and flavour. You guys mix it up too! Keep it up guys the quality and care is the key.

My boss just offered me a new and exciting position in which i would inherit longer hours, more paperwork and higher stress levels without a pay increase. It also involves being permenantly posted in nedlands. So i had to say yes. Thats how badly i want mitch's long black. Excellent coffee also.
Brianna Pannekoek
The people, the coffee, the commitment to every cup. <3
Mike Vosper
This amazing team of baristas have opened my senses to how wonderful and varied a cup of coffee can be. Thanks guys.

Day 7 in Europe and I've never missed anything more than I miss your coffee. Only 9 more weeks to go!

The most delicious banana, date & pistachio bread! And not forgetting the coffee too..Thanks guys!

Tiny but well known little coffee spot on the Hampden Rd strip in Nedlands. Coffee is generally good, a touch pricey though ($4.30 for a small), haven’t tried their food (small selection of the usual muffins & pastries) so can’t comment. Be prepared to wait as there always seems to be a line (admittedly the place is very small) and there’s only 1 barista behind the counter.
I.live.to.eat
rather pricey for the hot drink sizes. think it was $4.30 for a flat white in a smaller than usual cup, and it was extremely weak in flavour. iced mocha was average. service wasn’t rude but just a bit.. dull and unwelcoming. bit disappointed as we were excited about coming for coffee based on the reviews here. definitely wouldn’t return.
SproBro
Espresso here is always juicy - great variety too, which is equally present in the service :^). The barrista's here don't need any luck, every cup is as good as the last.
Isabella Crawford
Tiny little place, but really good coffee, and really friendly baristas. The cafe also always has a newspaper or two laying on the table so you can quickly browse the news while you're waiting.
Lisa Geer
This coffee is some of the best in Perth and clearly the most instagrammable! Lovely little shop that was a minutes walk from uni. Highly recommend to keep you motivated through study.
Mitch Ell
Woeful service. Ordered a small flat white and large long macchiato. Two customers ordered after me yet their coffees were made before mine due to the barista knowing the customers. Took about 15 minutes to get the two coffees.

The long macchiato also was three quarter full. Considering it cost over $5 I would have thought I would have got a full coffee.

Coffee tasted average, nothing special.
Eero
Excellent coffees. We tried 2 cappuccinos with the Brazil and mecca blends both very good and to our taste as well. It took a while for the coffees to come but on a weekend morning, it wasn't a problem and definitely worth the wait.
JH
Best coffee in perth! I was regular during my uni time and it was always jam packed with caffeine addicts! Not much seatings but it has lovely vibes and music
Harrison Baker
The coffee here is exceptional! ❤️ easily deserved 5/5 (: have been here a few times now and the coffee has been amazing every time, apparently the toasties are to die for as well. Keep up the awesome quality guys 😇
Melburnianlaura
The coffee is great, which, as a Melburnian is really quite important to me. HOWEVER... there's a few drawbacks here which keep me away. 1, it's like a sauna in there most days so I never sit down. 2. Even if I did want to sit down there's hardly anywhere to sit. I want somewhere to sit besides the concrete outside, even if it's on milk crates like in Melbs. 3. If I need the toilet, it's really quite annoying and I feel a bit gross using the key that's on a massive chain, if you ever have to do it yourself, you'll know what I mean. Which brings me to why I still go there. They stock amazing beans from roasteries over East, great variety for filter coffee. Also the service is really genuine and friendly, so they're not failing on the more important parts.

Coffee here is excellent. Baristas all have excellent knowledge and passion for coffee and it shines through in the service and the product.

Single origins are fantastic. Also highly recommend the cold filter coffee!! Awesome joint.

Coffee is brilliant. Changing menu and selection but always of excellent quality. Food is great too. Great, friendly staff with good atmosphere. Definitely my favourite spot for coffee!
The Taste Bud
Never thought I could justify paying for a toastie, until I came here! They are just the best - so cheesy and flavoursome in yummy rye & sunflower seed bread. I've had coffee here a few times which I found quite bitter, but I've since realized they have quite a range of different coffee beans on offer, so I'll have to try them out!
Littlemisspiggyeats
Not even 7.30am and the queue is out the door. Quick friendly service at the counter and coffee came out in good time - always happy to wait for good coffee and needless to say I have found my new favourite place. Not burnt, double tapped and weak. Sign of a great brew even when under the pump. Very small compact space to wait especially when people are sitting down at the tables, but again don't be put off by the queues :) LOVE LOVE. Best coffee on the strip.
LingLing Tao
Really great coffee, consistent with the quality. Good atmosphere, it's a great little space. The staff are super nice and the food is good as well. Nice place to check out if you're ever in the area. Really convenient if you're on the way to uni or work.

I have had an excellent latte here before but by God was it poor this time. I ordered a small long black - they just left my coffee sitting there, it was not hot enough and very weak. Good baristas would know long black drinkers like it strong. Very disappointed. Will not return.
City Slicker
Dropped in Thursday great coffee and service. Staff were friendly and made you feel welcome. Will be returning when in the area next and will try the food next time.
Fussybutfair
Popped in for a flat white (not feeling adventurous) last Thursday afternoon and wasn’t disappointed, smooth and plenty of flavour. Waitress, friendly and informative. Enjoyed the vibe. Was only there 15 minutes or so, will be back to try the filtered coffee, slowly next time...

I love this place. Its always super busy first thing in the morning and for good reason. The coffee is always excellent, probably the bestbin the area.
Aaron Chew
Hands down best coffee in Perth and very reasonably priced! I can't believe they use such good quality beans that they often change up while at the same time still charging the same amount for their coffees as what other places using much less expensive commercial-branded beans charge! So much love for this place.

I had an appointment that I really wasn’t looking forward to so I decided to do. lunch at Felix to ease the pain. chose “The Vego” toastie from their rather limited menu (which I assume is. because of their small kitchen) and I added some ham to my sandwich. Since I. have some Swiss heritage I was very excited about the Gruyere cheese that was
THE ILLUSIVE FEMME
A must visit in Nedlands!!!! The coffee is perfectly on point, and the blend is beautiful. The space is very small so it's good for take away and a wander up the street but there are a few tables if you want to sit and chill. One of my go to locations before work! Staf are very cool too, super friendly.

Felix & Co's atmosphere is delightful. It's small and almost full of customers early in the morning, yet it's calm and inviting.
Lots of newspapers, stunning customer service and a good brew to go. Boom!
Cherikstony
LOVE their coffee and their toasties!! Their food is exactly what I need between my endless morning of lectures and tutorials! Nicely located between med school and the main uni campus, I'm just so happy there's somewhere close to go after class with good coffee!
Gabrielle Trenbath
I visited Felix to pick up beans (for use at home) and a chai latte. The chai latte was perfect and has quite possibly got me addicted.

The coffee here is always perfect
CoffeeQueen88
Coffee is always good here. Have been served by a cool chick a few times who is always lovely and up for a chat, guys could be a bit more friendly
Bianca Wolfe
Only complaint is the cafe isn't big enough, gives me anxiety going in. But I do anyway because they have the best chai lattes in all of Perth! Have had cakes etc from their and they have been lovely, very fresh. Just wish the hours were a little longer on weekends!
Christina
Rad takeaway cups. Great coffee. Can't go wrong with a cheese toastie. Only negative is that it feels like one of those places that you're not welcome..
Jellyphine
A great little spot along Hampden Road for coffee and a little bit of timeout during the lunch breaktime! Had the soy flat white and was not disappointed. Smooth texture and the right amount of oomph. Enjoyed the space, smiles and good service thoroughly!
Brussels Sprout
Looking for something just that bit different to the next coffee place. I think we may have found it at Felix & Co. It's called service! Often sought rarely found but on a winner today. Enjoyed the coffee and the communal table.
Calvin Broadus
I love this cafe, coffee is always amazing as is the service. The place has a real Melbourne coffee shop vibe. A must try!...................
Catash
Wonderful friendly staff. I had a veg toastie which was so very delicious, perfect balance of flavours without being greasy or too wanky. Lovely little hole in the wall place. We have tried coming here before but it has been so packed, was nice to get a chance to visit during the lull.
Cake Face
If the staff smiled the coffee disappointment wouldn't be so bad.

I can't see the hype to be honest. Popped in as it was the only thing open so early on a Sunday. Staff looked miserable, think it rubbed off on the coffee?
Truth Inc.
Yes!!! Such a cool joint and some wicked coffee too. Stopped in on the way to the hospital for a quick fix and was yum! My place to go is in the area
Rucky
I pop in here every so often. My goodness they can do a fabulous coffee.
The house was excellent today, everything just right.

On top of the excellent product, their pricing is good for the area and the service is always prompt and friendly.

I'm always impressed with these guys :)
Prashya.gosman
Far too pretentious for my liking. I met a girlfriend here for coffee on my lunch break today. I'm not the biggest fan of coffee but I needed my cafine fix to get me through the day so I asked for a dirty chai. A chai late (which I love) with a shot of coffee (I was happy to pay extra). The guy gave me a weird look and stated that they do not do those because their coffee and chai is 'too' good to mix. I thought he was making a joke but he was dead serious. I was so shocked and a bit let down as I've been told it's a great place and I had been looking forward to my dirty chai all morning. I sadly went with a flat white that I didn't enjoy but at least it woke me up. Since when were coffee shops so pretentious?

The baristas here make you feel like you too, may one day be a morning person; and better yet they serve liquid gold that makes you BECOME one.
Best coffee.
Catherine
Can't Go Wrong. If anyone is after a coffee on the run or looking to sit down with their coffee and people watch on Hampden Road, this is the cafe to do it in. Every coffee I've had from Felix & Co has been delicious, whether it be a normal white or a soy. The staff are very friendly and the prices are reasonable! The most consistent and tasty coffee in Perth.
Nat's Visitations
This is where i get my coffee fix if i'm ever around Nedlands. I adore the baristas at Felix & Co. who really put their heart and soul into each brew. Their cold brews are nice to cool you down on sunny days but they make a perfect long mac that I always finish wayyy too fast! Definitely one of the best coffee shops I've been to in Perth. They do have very limited food options so I'd suggest heading there for a good cup of coffee and a small bite but not for lunch.
Perth Reviewer
The Star of Hampden Road. I remember Hampden Road before Felix and Co. It was a dull place, it felt empty. Like a Kinder Surprise without the 'surprise.' It was a place where your coffee options were few and far between. You had the tough choice of Dome, Jesters, or Boubar (which for Boubar especially I'm afraid to say was no easy choice).
And now? You have the pride of the street. Felix and Co. Specialty Coffee.
They are housed in a small, but tastefully decorated shop. The baristas are experienced. One of the owners, Mitch, is often the one behind the wonderful La Marzocco machine. Even if he isn't, the others are all excellent too. They are extremely helpful, and always willing to chat to you about their coffee and make recommendations. Felix and Co. probably stock one of the best selections of single origin coffee in Perth. They have a daily changing selection, that rotates through beans from some of the best roasters - Duke's, Proud Mary, and Loaded to name a few. You can also buy beans from them to use at home if you are so inclined, rather than having to order them from the roasters direct.
Do yourself a favour and give these guys your money.
Killer T Cell
Good coffee great times. As soon as you get over the cramped interior you realise what it is all about: the best coffee on earth and idyllically situated. The icing is that the staff aren't 'spro wankers and understand what is meant by terms such as long mac
Tessa Antonelli
I love Felix, best coffee I've had in Perth! Always so smooth, changing options of grinds, very friendly staff. The only bad thing about it is that I don't live close enough!
Nasilele Mubyana
Experienced baristas.. There is nothing more pleasant than having your coffee made by someone who is dedicated to making coffee. Their baristas love sharing their advice on the different coffee bean selections available and which would be better applicable to your taste.

Fantastic brew! Glad I decided to walk along Hampden Rd today! Great fit out and staff + excellent coffe :)
Matthew
Great Coffee!. Great Vibe and Excellent coffee guys!
Coffeemeetscake
I'm pickin up what they're puttin' down. Really great coffee in what will surely be a diabolically good spot when the new hospital opens. I love the fit out and need more of their coffee. not want....need.

A Coffee Lover's Dream. If you are a coffee fanatic then I highly recommend this place.
With the most vast selection of flavours in coffee from all different places. Each cup perfectly matches it's description of what to expect (check their menu, which they change regularly, hence the huge range of things to try).
Very reasonable prices and staff are lovely. Also, service is fast and the place is very clean. Obviously a small place, but coffee is a 'to-go' drink anyways.
PerthCoffeeSnob
Best selection of single origins in Perth. This place is a coffee nerd's dream. An insane list of filter options (we're talking nearly 10 single origins), 2 cold drip options, and 3 options for espresso - all from a huge variety of roasters, and the selection constantly rotates. I know of no other place in Perth that has such an extensive offering.

They're always busy, but the service is always fast, friendly, and the coffee is always top notch. I've had many a long chat with Mitch about brew parameters and other coffee geekery, and he's more than happy to share his knowledge and passion. My only complaint is that they're not closer to where I live - I'd be in a lot more frequently!
JandN
Awesome coffee. Thanks to Urban Spoon, I found this little gem right down the road from uni. These guys really know their stuff. Super trendy and refreshing for Perth's "count-on-one-hand", good coffee places. AND their opening hours are rather generous.
Adamrompotis
The best in town. I drive a fair way off my route to work just to get a daily cup here. really knowledgeable and friendly staff, great rotation of coffee. easily the best coffee in perth

Don't bother asking for a topped up short macchiato.. I decided that one day I wanted to try something new. I trawled through Urbanspoon, looking for a cafe I had not yet been to. I chose Felix and Co as it is close by.
I walk in and place and order for a short macchiato topped up. The fellow at the register says, "Oh... hang on, I don't think we do short macchiatos topped up..." He then asks the barista to his right about the coffee I have ordered. According to the barista they don't do short macchiatos topped up - they only do them traditional as it's "the best way to have it". He then says that "they have really good coffee here/there", which confuses me as I don't think good coffee somehow disqualifies the addition of a tad bit extra milk. Anyway, I am slightly taken aback by this. I don't really know how to react. I decide to settle on the traditional short mac and I grudgingly hand over my cash.
I sit down, confused and irritated at what had just occurred. Eventually the barista brings out my traditional short mac, which is contained within what may as well have been a thimble. It amounted to approximately 5mls of espresso and a dollop of foam. I drank it sourly, cursing myself for not having walked out earlier. I paid approximately 4 dollars for what amounted to a quarter of a mouthful of coffee and foam.
I promptly left, in search of a cafe in which I wouldn't be told how I should have my coffee.
Pretentious and dull. I won't be returning.
Lukie.the.bear
Pretty damn good.. I've been to coffee shops all over Perth and this is by far the best one. Quality and service is right up there with what you get on the east coast.

The staff are sometimes a little sour, but the coffee is always spot-on.
Terrine De Lapin
Mmmm. Absolutely awesome coffee. They use Proud Mary coffee like the Daily Espresso Bar in Swanbourne. The trouble is they only seem to order enough coffee for themselves for the week so if you enjoy a great cup of coffee (which you will), you can't seem to buy a bag of those beans to take home. Oh well, just an excuse to come back here.
Sanchez
Faultlessly amazing coffee. It's so good it's probably increased the cost of real estate in the neighboring streets.
Student Cravings
A Must Visit for the Coffee Connoisseur. I came in with a friend on a recommendation. The place was packed, which is always a good sign. The list of beans is extensive, and the drip coffee menu tickled my fancy quite a bit! It's good to see something a bit creative and out of the ordinary from your regular espresso list. I began on a traditional long machiatto, and my friend ordered a topped up long machiatto; from the columbian beans variety. Beautiful latte art on the topped up mac, and I was pleased that the coffee was a well extracted shot, that sat nicely balanced on the palate with creamy, silky textured milk. The barista was very attentive, took our glasses and recommended we try something from the drip menu despite it being fairly busy. He then explained in great detail how to properly enjoy the coffee! This should be done at every coffee shop! It was an absolutely delicious coffee experience and I would recommend it to anyone, especially the coffee connoisseur looking for something a bit different to widen their coffee enjoyment.
Smack
Coffee. So many different coffees to choose from and their knowledge of what they sell is extremely good.

The owner took the time with me to give me 5-10 minute education of what they sell and even insisted on trying different espresso's. The subtle variations were fantastic and left me with a bit more spring in my step.

I only hope that every one that visits gives it a fair go. Their coffee is different to the norm and will require some getting used to if you have been drinking the dark, bitter roasts that populate the perth coffee spots.
Sam Strk
Felix and Co offer really good service and the coffee is amazing.I have tried many cafes and their coffee is way up there with best in perth - top quality without having to wait 20 minutes for your coffee.
Pink_Tulips
Good stuff. I've not bothered with any of the other places on Hampden Road or Broadway after trying Felix & Co!
Alex L Smith
Went to Felix and Co for the first time today. Great coffee and really cool looking decor. Had a great chat with one of the owners, was really friendly and informative. Will be coming back :-)

Absolutely beautiful coffee! I have tried coffee all over Perth and this is the best of Melbourne quality! Outstanding!

Seroiusly good coffee and seriously knowledgeable staff.

Awesome coffee with a great selection of beans. Very friendly and knowledgable staff!!!

Great space and excellent coffee. Had a lovely espresso here, knocked my socks off!

Love this newly established cafe - great coffee, and really nice staff who know their coffee blends extremely well. Enjoy the ever changing selection of blends - it has taken over as my usual local coffee fix. Highly recommended - great banana bread as well.

..... we were glad to be able to sit down and enjoy its cozy atmosphere. As much as we love our coffee, the minimalist interior definitely won our hearts. Wooden benches, pot plants and coffee table books greeted us as we waited for our drinks, and again, you gotta love the use of low hanging lights! Anyway, enough about the interior. The space is only tiny, but the selection of coffee is endless. Today we ordered a classic cappuccino, and the seasonal blend cold brew (sour cherry, raspberry, milk chocolate and a smooth hazelnut finish)- great to cool down on a hot afternoon! We gotta say, Felix & Co. serves one of the best coffee in Perth in terms o
Tom Antoniazzi
...put it out there: Felix & Co serves the best filter coffee in Perth. They rotate through a number of outstanding seasonal offerings on both pour over and syphon, each better than the next. The highlight for us was a syphoned Colombian – a mouthful of juicy plums and red grapes.
Littlelofts.com
Every mouthful was so smooth with a consistent, yet subtle strength and a fruity after taste. In this week's round of #CoffeeOfPerth, Felix & Co was a true winner.
Perthonaplatter
The next time we visited, we both ordered a toastie. Toasties seem to be the main hot food they serve, they offer different kinds of toasties, toastie with ham and cheese, toastie with three cheese, toastie with mushrooms and cheese and toastie with the LOT! aka the godfather. To me if everything seems appealing, choose the one thats got more value for money. S and I chose THE GODFATHER.
Perth Food Engineers
I visited Felix and Co. not long after to get a coffee! The place was chockers, students and workers alike lounging and waiting for their caffeine shots! My takeaway Long Macchiato ! Great coffee! Felix and Co. also sells a small selection of pastries and sandwiches! Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
