This is one of my favourite places - it's just the ambience of the place, and no matter how many times I visit, it never disappoints. Not to mention great food, love the pizza, steak sandwich and the pear, parmesan and rocket salad, the dessert I had was just delicious. Great food, great place.
Great place, good service and plenty of fine food choices, one of the few places that open till late and where you can eat till late, bravo. Fabulous meal and the wine list, whoa, almost too hard to choose but we managed. Thanks for looking after us

Steves recently hosted our wedding in their lawn and terrace area out the front. It looked absolutely stunning with a bit of decoration and fairy lights. The bar/serving staff that we had during the night were amazing and very professional. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it! Massive thanks to Erin for helping coordinate the event!
Absolutely wonderful meal. Everything was delicious and very good serving sizes. Wonderful atmosphere and decor. Service was beyond reproach wonderful French host who was extremely knowledgeable about all the produce.. I would recommend this very highly.

I have been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wine options are huge and really good. Food on the other hand is pretty average. As the ambience is good, i wont mind going again.
Overall we had a great lunch today at Steve's especially getting $150 off our $456 bill by using three Entertainment Cards.
The pate was a standout for me. Everyone enjoyed their pub grub style meals. Service was a little slow but it is the silly season after all and there were several Christmas parties happening all at once.
Dessert choice was a limited selection of three. I went for the orange and hazelnut torte with meringue and icecream which was pretty average.
Great location for catch up with friends on this beautiful Sunday breakfast.
Flat White was creamy, silky and with right temperature.
Beetroot, Apple, Celery and Ginger was so refreshing for this warm weather .
Sourdough French Toast with caramelized banana was yummy.
Green & Grains bowl was delicious.
This place is a great location and good vibe. The service is great. Friendly efficient but not stuffy. The food is stable. Reliable. Not marvellous. We love the pear walnut and rocket salad. It's been a staple for a while . It works beautifully. Such a shame as accustomed I start thinking it might need a refresh . We customers are a fickle lot. The home made ice cream is worth spending calories on. It's special.
Had a great lunch today, with dishes from the bar menu. Staff were friendly, helpful, efficient ... and all French. Can't wait to return to try other dishes.
Went there for drinks and nibbles to continue wedding festivities. Good service to accommodate a large group and putting tables together for us! Nice fresh crunchy chips too!

Always have a good night at Steves. Very good service of the bar and wait staff. Good selection of beer and cider on tap and extensive wine list and other drinks too. The menu caters to whatever you are doing whether sharing over drinks or eating a meal. Well presented and tasty.

This is worth trying for the wine list and sommelier alone. The food was tasty and well portioned but pricey. Atmosphere really nice especially if you are a wine lover. Service was fine dining standard.
Haven't been here for 3-4 years and Steve's has divided the restaurant into bar area and table services in the wine store. Overall the table services are good. The wine list and food are reasonable. We had ordered quite a bit of seafood dishes and they were all cooked well. The scallops are the stars ! Pity that the entree Salumi is disappointed, just like an unpacked salumi put on the wooden tray. The atmosphere of the restaurant is generally good but there's a big group of business people in a room, not shutting the door and making some noise at times. The decor are all with the empty wine bottles but most of them are quite dusty. It's dark and we cannot see clearly but the restaurant staff should clean them regularly. We ordered a bottle of Empirica Gewurztraminer from Mount Barker, charged at $49 compared to $28 cellar door price. Seems like much margin for the low price tag wines.
As most of you know, Mr. Spittoon and I have been working our wine-drinking-butts off to get our new house painted as quickly as possible which has meant no going out and having fun. After nearly two weeks of painting after work in the evenings and all throughout the weekends we were killing for a break. The invite from the team at Steve’s to attend their wine dinner on Wednesday night couldn’t have come at a better time. I just wish the unclassy wine blogger that I am didn’t fall down the stairs…

This is the first masterclass of 6 which are taking place over the next 6 months. Each month up until October 2015 there is a different theme – the next is an East vs. West Cabernet tasting. The sessions are held on Wednesday nights starting at 7pm and go through till about 8:30pm...
Pleasant Surprise. After viewing urbanspoon for the menu then seeing the low approval % I was a little apprehensive about risking hard earned.
Beacause it was such a pleasant day we decided to give it a go & was more than pleasantly surprised.
We were in the outside area & ordered fish & chips, burgers & pizza. All were better than average, served promptly by very attentive & friendly staff.
Throw in the sunshine & proximity to the river & Steve's is hard to beat!
Good atmosphere, good food, but pricey.. Good buzz for a Friday night.
Did not have much expectation as reviews were average, so was pleasantly surprised.
Ordered the pizza and the goat cheese on toast salad, good quality ingredients, definitely above average.
Makes it worth trying with the 25% off from the Entertainment card, if not, too expensive in my opinion.
Good Place. The chips are the highlight of this place. Really Tasty and well cooked. Crunchy just how chips are supposed to be. Since i am coeliac it is very simple to order a steak and chips and it is so good.
Only problem: The waiter asks to bring the food out, usually in restaurants they just bring the food out.
Nice meal inside a wine store. Started off with the quail which was ok at best as the flavours were good but the quail itself was a bit tough. Ordered the crab capellini which was sensational & tasted very fresh. Finished off with the chocolate mouse to end on a high. Steve's are in the entertainment book with up to $50 off so worth giving it a try if you haven't been yet.
Will be back!. Weather was beautiful so we really enjoyed sitting out the front, part indoors-outdoors. Service was fantastic. Little Mexican empanadas were awesome. The seafood stew was delicious. Enjoyed mopping up the yummy juices with the delicious crusty bread. Creme brulee was divine. I can't really fault the restaurant TBH.

Love this place. I love this place and have been here on numerous occasions. The food is nice. Fish and chips is good, Prawn linguine is good, burger is average, pizzas are ok but not fantastic. Certain things are good and certain things are not. Just look out at what people are ordering before you do.
Great weekend brunch spot. My fiancé and I frequent here for dinner and casual drinks, we never considered going here for breakfast/brunch though? In hindsight I can say I am VERY pleased we did. The breakfast menu is divine, perfect portion sizes, healthy and not so healthy menu options, menu flexibility and 80% of the time great attentive customer service. I recommend starting the day with one of their fresh fruit juices and the mushrooms on ciabatta or you could always give the house smoked bacon ago. So yummy

Great Pizza, Pâté & Wine. Don't expect stuffy waiters & over the top service. This is essentially a casual pub/restaurant with great comfort food & relaxed staff. A place to hang out & enjoy the extensive selection of wines, ciders & beers in the wine store. You can take anything you buy in the wine store through to the restaurant (for a small mark up). It also seems to work out much cheaper & faster that way!
Try the chicken liver pâté w ciabatta & spiced mustard fruits. i had this this on a lazy sunday afternoon. I managed to find the perfect wine to match, a white burgundy that was recommended to me by the helpfull wine consultant in the wine store.
Ok, Steves is not a restaraunt service kinda place, it's a pub & wine store. But it unpretentiously presents me with a much more casual way to enjoy great food & wine.
Great Place!. Myself and my friends have been going to Steves regularly for girls lunches/dinners over the past year. We always find the service to be great and the food is always of a very high standard. We noticed over November and December the venue was heaving with people (Christmas functions I imagine) and although we could see the staff were very busy the service they delivered was great!
Steves is a lovely venue and a perfect place to catch up with friends - Friday evenings can be very busy and not ideal if you want to have a good old gossip but perfect for relaxed drinks. Keep it up Steves!
Had breakfast - scrambled eggs, mushrooms and toast - very good. Topped off by a 5 Senses coffee; first flat white was perfect, second one was burnt - both made by different baristas.
Food was decent and portions good. Service was a little strange on the day we were there. Drinks weren't mixed properly and had to be returned 3x! (Non-alcoholic stuff like lemon lime and coke). Can't imagine why it would have been so but otherwise, a lovely experience.

Very Happy Customer!. I went to Steve's recently with my family and was overall very impressed with my dining experience. Being a saturday night the restaurant was full and I overheard there was also a function on in the cellar, despite this the staff were attentive, smiley and speedy with their service. I'd read the reviews online about poor service but we did not experience any.
The food was fantastic. We shared the Zucchini fritters to start which were sensational. For mains my husband had the gnocchi which I was able to try. It melted in your mouth. Some of the best gnocchi I've tasted in Perth. I had the duck breast salad which was light and delicious and the duck meat was lean and lovely. My daughter had a steak, which she adored. She noted it was cooked exactly how she liked it. My son had the fish and chips which appeared to be cooked well, and was served as a very traditional fish and chips pub meal which is exactly his style.
The decor in the recently renovated Steve's is welcoming and charming. I would definitely recommend Steve's for a meal to my friends and will definitely be back!

We had an event booked for Saturday & our venue missed a critical piece of information in our booking. As a result we were left high & dry and possibly needing to cancel something we'd planned for months.
We did a last ditch ring around and contacted Steve's. They were not only happy for us to hold our event there, but at a moments notice put us at complete ease.
The staff were attentive, food was fantastic & they allowed us to bring along our acoustic bands. Great space for a function!

Service please!. Went to steves with a group of 4, waited at the front of the restaurant to be seated for about 5 minutes. Finally we were greeted and given a table, probably waited another 10-15minutes before anyone came and saw to our table.
luckily food came to our table swiftly, share plates were great! Crispy fried school prawns, croquettes and a charcuterie plate...yum! Mains were good to, scotch steak was a bit expensive but was cooked perfectly, lamb cutlets and spanish seafood stew, we shared and enjoyed all the food put on our table.
Still we had to flag a waitress everytime we wanted something. Its not fine dining but is generous and wholesome food. I would recommend steves for a casual place to go for a good meal, but dont expect great service.

The only thing that I don't like is this new scan the menu and order online. I understand it is a new thing for covid or whatever reasons. But it doesn't give me the opportunity to have a chat with servers about recommendations of items in the menu. Plus network service was slow and it took a while to buffer. Other than that this place is awesome.
Nice ambiance, wine bar style. Enjoyed a mighty fine burger. Some decent beers too. May return to try the finer dinning and wine experience!

First time I've been here as was super impressed with the service, drinks menu and atmosphere. Great indoor and outdoor areas with plenty of tables and seating. Prices were also reasonable for drinks, although I didn't try any food but will certainly be going back again.
