Review Bangkok Betty - Neutral Bay

Eclectic BYO Thai restaurant with great food 🥘 and excellent service. We went on Saturday evening and got a table easily. For entrees I'd suggest the chicken 🍗 satay its a great combo of an excellent peanut 🥜 sauce with charcoal cooked chicken. For mains the pork belly is brilliant and for desert the mango sticky rice 🍚.

Just discovered this delish Thai place, everything we had was delicious. Satay chicken, veggie puffs, Salmon special & stir fry chicken, will definitely be back!

We recently moved to the neighbourhood and this is our "to go thai" place. The menu is long and interesting. What we had was delicious. Can't wait to come and try something else. :)

Was our favourite Thai takeaway once. Delivery was always quick and an added little extra touch with a kinder surprise chocolate. However tonight the food was average and the kinder surprise was 7 years past its use by date 13/6/13 Luckily our grandson alerted us to its weird taste before he ate the lot. Not the surprise he was hoping for.

Our favourite Thai food. Great flavours, generous portions and reasonable prices. Red chicken curry is brilliant, same with the salt and pepper squid. Plenty of gluten free options too. Thanks again guys!

Over the years, I’ve had my fair share of Thai. Once every month or two, I’ll get Thai delivered, and it’s been Bangkok Betty now, every time. But for the first time ever, I actually ate in. I thought the food was good delivered... it was GREAT when I ate it in the restaurant. Maybe it was the fresh-from-the-kitchen experience, but it was some of the tastiest Thai I’ve ever had. It’s certainly $-$$ priced, for a $$$$ flavour! There are restaurants that have better decor, but BB delivers perfectly, without claiming to be something they’re not.

Surely some of the best Thai food North of the Bridge! The curry puffs and fish cakes are out of this world and regularly sell out so make sure you place your order early if getting takeaway! Reasonably priced wine options if dining in. Try the shrimply delicious. So tasty!

Accidentally found myself at Bangkok Betty after my go to Thai place was fully booked, and have been going there ever since. It’s offers a simplicity and cosy dining space, that relaxes you after a long and draining day. The food is amazing (my absolute favourites are the chicken wings, chicken pad Thai, and the spring rolls). Very warm and hospitable staff. If you’ve had a stressful day and just want to forget about it all for a moment, I’d say go to Betty’s any-day! You won’t regret.

It's the best Thai in the lower north shore, they serve Thai beer, and have amazing vegetarian options. But most of all they have an incredible creme brule to end the meal like a 👑 king.

How this place is not towards the top of every Top Ten Thai list in Sydney is beyond me? Get yourself over to the North Snore and wrap your chops around some of the tastiest Thai in town. We visit every few weeks and have tried most dishes on the menu. We haven't hit a did yet...

Love, love, love Bangkok Betty! She never disappoints. The food is so fresh and fun. Can't wait for my next meal there.

Had the MOST delicious dinner this evening. Each plate was more tasty than the next. I have not eaten such delicious thai food in years .The snapper was a real highlight and sensationally yummy. We will defiantly be visiting again soon.

Bangkok Betty was banging last Saturday when we dined there.  Great little Thai restaurant owned by Nui.  Steven was a great front person and served us quickly and efficiently.  The squid was outstanding, spare ribs melt in the mouth and falling off the bone and their dumplings are to die for.  Shame we found this cool little Thai place on the last night of our holiday in Sydney.  But we will be back !

I came to Bangkok Betty because of the high ratings but was disappointed with its mediocre cooking.<br/><br/>Service was terrific. The chef and proprietor were friendly and quick. However, food was not as great. I ordered green curry and pad Thai. Meat cooks fast and I believed the chef had cooked the chicken for an extended time which made them dry and hard. <br/><br/>The chef could consider adding tenderizer, add the chicken last or cook the curry at a lower temperature. Flat noodles cook fast too. The pad Thai was a little too soggy and mushy.

Strong flavours and delicious dishes. Food as a whole was perfectly seasoned, not too sweet like some Thai places nor overly salty. The names of the dishes were adorable, the owners must have had a bit of fun coming up with them!<br/><br/>We got Panang with a Bang! (panang curry) and Razzle Dazzle (chili & basil stir-fry). Both were great but I preferred the stir-fry as it had the perfect amount of garlicy goodness. With any of the dishes you are able to choose your option of tofu, chicken, beef, pork, prawns or seafood, although it includes a protein in the dish description it is easily substituted. The tofu was a true standout here and not like any other. It was ever so slightly crisp on the outer with a soft, melting inside which was heavenly in the stir-fry. Jasmine rice is $2.50pp and refillable, which you most likely will have to do as they start off small.<br/><br/>There weren’t too many people on a weeknight but it seemed takeaway was a popular choice. Staff were lovely and quite attentive.

I've been to Betty's now five times and I was so tempted to write a review each time but selfishly I decided not to because I wanted to keep her a secret. My conscience got the better of me this time and so here is my simple but honest view of Betty. The menu makes me laugh every time I read it with "Razzle dazzle chilli and basil" being my all time favourite. The food is by far the best Thai cuisine I've had to date. Prices are very reasonable and service is attentive and friendly. It's our favourite place to take friends and family when they visit us. There my secret is out!

My husband and i went there last night for a dinner. I was convinced by lots of good reviews about this place. The restaurant was busy and there was a big group of people alongside the small tables. The first thing i noticed was the incredible noise, maybe because the room is small and the tables are a lot, but we couldn't talk with normal voice. The service was nice but just one waitress is definitely not enough. The menu was nice and cheerful, but it is absolutely ridiculous waiting 30 min for and entree and more 20 min for the main. I don't know if the kitchen was disorganised but i could see the take away bags alway ready on the table. At the end we ate the main after one hour, it was tasty and good portion. Manager need to review the waiting time.

Discovered this place by accident when trying to get to Thai Intra. Upon discovering that it had been closed down, we decided to sample this restaurant instead. Best Thai food I've ever eaten in my life. Soft-shell crab was fantastic and the ribs were extremely succulent. Satay chicken skewers, scallops and the salt and pepper tofu were all delicious as well. Will definitely return and would recommend to anyone

I've tried a lot of Thai places around Neutral Bay/ Mosman and I have to say this was worst. We ordered the Pad see ew and Massaman curry. The Massaman's beef although plentiful was like eating little bricks and the sauce was so overpowered with cloves, there are other spices... The pad see ew was so bland it was inedible. I'm not sure if the Chef was having a bad night since the reviews are mostly positive but I wasted $30

love this place - service is always efficient and food always flavoursome! price point is just right, hope they keep the standards up - pad thai, duck curry and soft shell crab - not to be missed!

Exquisite & Elegant. This is the finest Thai food I have had the pleasure of eating. Elegantly presented and a cacophony of the exquisite flavours, extraordinary combinations, wholly unique. Worthy of a trip from any distance travelled. In a nutshell, the quality is worthy of declaring that it is food the most demanding of any gourmand.

Very happy tummy. I was so happy I trusted the reviews and tried this resto! Food was sooo good and not that expensive. I actually think the quality you get is higher than other thai restos with the same price range. I was surprised with the serving size of the satay entree I ordered. In other places, you'd get a few paltry sticks of chicken..but what I got was 4 quite hefty skewers and the chicken was so tender! Definitely worth trying this place out!

Very Impressed. We decided to try this restaurant with high expectations due to the favourable ratings on urbanspoon. Despite a little bit of apprehension when seeing the (90's amateur style) menu design, punny dish names, and the less-than-busy atmosphere when we entered the restaurant, Bangkok Betty surpassed our expectations by delivering a fantastic meal.<br/><br/>We had the "Salt-ry Betty", "Bejewelled Betty" and the "Peanut Sauce Sensation" - they were all amazing! You could tell that there was thought put into the design of each dish, with all of them cooked to perfection. It is not often you leave a restaurant without a stand-out dish as your favourite, but tonight, any of the dishes could have been the favourite!

Surprisingly Good. I live locally and had noticed 'Bangkok Betty' some time ago but last Saturday was the first time I had ventured in.<br/><br/>My general rule is that if the staff in a Thai Restaurant are not Thai then the food probably is not going to be authentic and probably should be avoided. <br/>When my friend and I walked in we were greeted by a non-Thai waiter/front of house person, possibly the owner, with a slightly unusual but not unfriendly demeanour. We immediately started having second thoughts. <br/><br/>Then we sat down and noticed the corny names of the dishes, things such as SHRIMP-ly Delicious, Satay-day Night Fever and From Dusk till Prawn to name just a few - we started to become even more nervous. <br/><br/>All of our concerns were put to rest as the food started arriving - every dish was a winner. The staff working in the kitchen are Thai and the authenticity of the food reflects that fact.<br/><br/>The food does arrive a little slowly but if you leave yourself some time and just relax, knowing that when the food eventually arrives, you will find it pretty worthwhile.

Delightful. We had a fabulous evening on Saturday night at Bangkok Betty's . My spirits we lifted as we approached the petal strewn shop front. The service was good and the meal exceptional .

Bangkok Betty You Rock!. We first spotted this joint, due to all the advertising about how great it was rated in Urban spoon and Tripadviser (They advertise there reviews on their windows), so skeptically thought we would check it out. So glad that we did! The food here is amazing (I loved the Satay Chicken Skewers and Panang with a Bang), but from our table of 4, all meals were delicious so I suspect everything on the menu is great! The price is reasonable (and BYO!) but what really stands out aside from the food is the service! Great staff, so attentive, but not over the top! Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Simply amazing!. Ordered the Chicken Peanut Sensation last week and it was by far one of the best satay chicken dishes I've ever had. I asked for a little bit of chilli and it was exactly what I was after - was delicious! also ordered the penang curry - the flavours were indescribable and I have no words. it was exactly like the one I ate when I was in Thailand last year. <br/><br/>The service was excellent - the waitress served us watermelon at the end of our meals. it was an absolute delight eating there and I will definitely go there again! I can't believe I havent discovered this place earlier!! Love it!

Best Thai in Sydney. We have become weekly regulars at Bangkok Betty and it never disappoints! Not only is the food absolutely delicious but the service is super friendly and attentive. Our favourite dishes are the Betty takes a ribbing and the Booyah Betty curry and the dumplings. Thanks for bringing something great to Neutral Bay!

Best Thai food. Went to BB last night with a group our fourth time. The food just keeps getting better. Service was great as usual, friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Deliciously authentic Thai. For me, a Thai dinner with friends means sharing rich and authentic curries, generous servings of fresh fish and delicate desserts to finish. Bangkok Betty delivered all of these things in loads and with smiles to match!

Best Satay Chicken Skewers & Pad See Yew ever in Sydney!!! <br/>We heard about Bangkok Betty through a friend and decided to give it a try after work and boy was it delicious! Good satay chicken skewers are so hard to come by because it's difficult to get chicken breast to cook perfectly... These were moist and bursting in flavour!!!! Their pad see yew was awesome as well, usually a pad see yew can be a bit too sweet, heavy on the sugar and oily but this one at Bangkok Betty was just perfect!! Well balanced flavours and not too sweet and not too oily! Thank you Bangkok Betty for the great service from your friendly staff and we will definitely return again!

Betty is back!. I've been a regular customer of Bangkok Betty since opened in Mosman. Now Betty has been relocated to Neutral Bay, which is quite convenient position to reach there. My favorite dish is homemade fish cake with full fine fish texture and great flavor. Crispy vegetarian curry puff is also a hit for great veg entree option. Crispy Pork belly prik khing is divine with full flavor of Thai herbs and great chilli paste. Tender duck legs red curry is also not to be missed. They also provide a great attentive service. I am glad Betty is back again... Thumbs up!!

I love Bangkok Betty!. This restaurant is absolutely fabulous on so many levels! The food is mouth wateringly delicious with lots of fresh ingredients. And the menu is so cute and hilarious, it makes me laugh every time I read it – Diddle Diddle Dumpling, You Quack Me Up, The Good, the Bad, and Betty ... the list of dishes goes on! I ate at this restaurant a few times when they were located in Mosman, and always had a wonderful evening out with friends, so was delighted to hear they opened in Neutral Bay. I got takeaway last month – it was ready in no time at all, and the food was such a treat! I went to dinner there recently and the service and food was superb. Thank you Betty and colleagues for a wonderful evening, I’ll be sure to be back soon!

Best Thai Food Ever!!. I was so happy to hear that Bangkok Betty opened again after relocating to Neutral Bay. I have eaten there on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. The food is superb, the service fantastic, and the atmosphere just perfect. The menu is so brilliantly written that it is very difficult trying to decide what to order; as you just want to try every dish! That's why i always go with a group of friends so we can order multiple dishes. I will be back very soon to continue making my way through the menu. Well done to Betty and the team for what truly is a gem of a restaurant in Neutral Bay!

Best Thai. I am a huge Thai fan and it was suggested to me to give Bangkok Betty a try... I am SO glad I did! We went as a group of 8 and decided to share a variety of dishes. Each one was delicious but my favourite was definitely the cashew chicken. Service was quick and good and the menu gave us a good a good laugh too! I will be going back to Bangkok Betty soon!

If you love Thai food, then you must give this restaurant a try!. I was so happy to see Bangkok Betty had relocated to Neutral Bay. My husband and I missed the food while they were moving. I have eaten at this restaurant multiple times with different groups of friends and every time the food and service have been exceptional. The food is absolutely amazing! If you like Thai food, then you should give this restaurant a try. I would highly recommend it. Every time we go, we try different things. So far, there is not one dish that I have not enjoyed.

Delivery never came. TERRIBLE.. Terrible service and will never order from here again. We ordered a simple main, entrée and rice for delivery and were advised it would take 40 minutes. We called after 55 minutes had passed to check on the order and were told it was on its way. Over 1 hour and 10 minutes later we still hadn't received anything and our place is only a few minutes down the road. Cancelled order (no apology was provided or anything) and ordered from another thai place in neutral bay where we didn't have such a disappointing experience.

Amazing food and service. I have eaten here on at least 8 occasions! and have also had takeaway twice! The food is always amazing! They are also extremely welcoming to my 4 year old, they supply colouring and plastic plates etc.... they also give her fruit after the meal which she loves. The service and food is refreshing they truely make an effort and make you feel like nothing is too much of an effort...... It really is a pleasure to eat here.

Awesome Thai. We tried the new location during the week, the food was fantastic! All the dishes were full of flavour. Family friendly.

Best Thai food in ages. Have had home delivery from here twice now and been seriously impressed both times. Had the Porking Point and the Soy Ahoy Noodles (both times, couldn't resist it). The pork had plenty of chili and great, authentic flavours. The noodles were just like they should be, sweet and salty, nice thick noodles and some great depth of flavour for a simple dish. Lots of fresh vegetables in both, and some lovely tofu in the noodles. I had begun to despair of finding non-westernised Thai food any more, but this has given me hope. I haven't dined in yet, but if home delivered food can be this good, eating in must be a treat.

Delicious food. Wonderful service. Love the Ling fish and prawns. Have had three meals there since it opened and enjoyed every one. Will go back again next week!

Amazing Thai!. Absolutely awesome food! Salt & pepper squid was really nice and crunchy, Chicken & prawn rice paper rolls were beautiful with their sauce, Panang curry was so creamy... Service was great, staff are very friendly. We will definitely come back soon!

Can't Rave Enough About this Place!. Another fantastic Thai meal from Bangkok Betty! This time we decided to order take away because it was just way too chilly last night to venture out. We did miss seeing you all (Nui, Steven, Betty and the team) but the food was so yummy, it made up for that - sorry guys) This was the first time we have ordered take away from Bangkok Betty and we were pleasantly surprised that the quality and service equally matched our many restaurant experiences. Bangkok Betty's Back!. Four of us visited Bangkok Betty last night for dinner and I just had to write to say what a fantastic restaurant this is. It has a lovely ambience, the staff are so helpful and friendly, and the food is sublime. We shared a few starters, including the squid, dumplings and fish cakes (which were my favourite. I am a bit of a chilli wuss, so the fish cakes had the perfect amount of fire and the dipping sauce was beautiful). We also shared a selection of main courses, including the prawn salad, soft shell crab and the red curry beef - which was sensational. - all served with fluffy rice. Perfect!<br/><br/>We were chatting to the staff who told us Bangkok Betty had originally been in Mosman, but only recently relocated to Neutral Bay. We say 'welcome back, Betty!' - and we'll definitely be dining here again. Food, Service, Large Choice of Dishes and Value for Money - all 10/10!

Good. We had takeaway from here the other night and everyone liked the food. Usually you get one bum dish, but all was good. Would go again.

Red dog. Main course served on cold plate so food went cold very quickly. Sauce was watery, cold and undercooked vegetables. Not very impressed with service either. Worse thai I've eatern in Sydney. Won't be going back
