After a 5 or 6 years hiatus, 1 of our fav jap is back. Right across where it used to be, taking over where Mihana was. Renowned for its homestyle trad jap dishes, it seems that they have stepped up their game n venue.
Agedashi tofu, prawn, tokoyaki, grilled octopus, sesame spinach, spicy avo salmon roll, white bait, chick katsu donburi, whiting tempura n a couple of sake (cant rem the names), there were no standouts but all was above average.
By mid meal, they were running full house, inevitably service dipped. Cant rem if it was thurs/fri or sat evening. 1 more floor staff would make it way less hectic. Kitchen coped well though. Bbs.
I have been dining at Kintaro for years so had to try out its new location in the Northern Beaches! It is on a strip of shops and has a very Japanese cosy vibe. Food was a usual fresh and delicious! The chili volcano sushi is a must have and the chicken karaage was perfectly crispy and seasoned. Service is quick and friendly. Our family love this restaurant and will continue to make the trip out here, the food is worth it!
First-rate Japanese food, cold Sapporos and a view of the beach. Chicken nanban is the best I've ever had.
Food was delicious and came out promptly. Very happy with the service and dining experience. We’ll definitely be coming back.
Our family loves Kintaro.
We go there often now as the team are so friendly and the good is great. One of us is a Coeliac and Masa and his team have a Gluten Free Menu to choose from, which is a huge help.
Kintaro is a great restaurant.
Great owner-chef with elaborated gourmet Japanese foods + humble but friendly staffs with genuine hospitality which create our weekend retreat. Thank you Masa-san😊
Food is nice, service is funny (confused waitress es)) and a bit slow.
This place is fabulous. The food and service is great. I’d easily it the bast Japanese food I’ve had in Sydney. A+
