Review Aluna - Neutral Bay

Amazing food, service, atmosphere and overall experience. I have tried lots of Colombian food, so my bar is set high and I was very very pleased with the taste of the food. Simply perfect! As I told one of the restaurants owners, I have list with my top 5 Sydney restaurants, and Aluna is now incuded. Would recommend 100%!

Was there last week with a voucher which was a gift from a Latin friend and was more than what we expected. It's a nice venue , doesn't look so big from outside, but had a central courtyard with outdoor garden. Service was reasonable. The meats were delicious and well cooked. The serving were large. The table was a bit small and was crowded with all these food. We were impressed with the taste. It started raining and we had to move in, didn't know that they had cocktails which is a mix of beer and regular cocktail. I will return to try their other dishes on the menu and the cocktail with the inverted corona beer bottle " don't know what they call it". The waitress was very friendly and explained the food to us.

Had a really disappointing experience here. I emailed the restaurant a few days ago and haven’t had a response. My partner and I decided to buy a Groupon voucher after being recommended by a Colombian friend. We sat at the bar and were served after everyone else there, despite being one of the first people there. Had one glass of wine and waited an hour (no joke) for the meal which consisted of a few small bowls of meat, a salad and different types of potato. Half the food listed when we bought the voucher was missing. While waiting for the food, we ordered cocktails which took 30 minutes after we reminded the waitress that we had ordered them. The food came out and the meat was really nice but the sides were very disappointing and didn’t taste of much. Seemed as though everyone else was being served slowly too. Really disappointing as I had such high expectations of the place.

Got a table for two immediately on a busy Friday night without a reservation. Mains took a while to come out but definitely worth the wait. Amazing food without the ludicrous price tags, generous portions coupled with friendly service. Not exactly like the food in Bogota restaurants, I would say the best we could find in Sydney. Would be returning in the future.

Very sad experience. We purchased a deal on Scoopon for 6 people that stated Voucher valid for a 14-dish Colombian tasting experience PER COUPLE. The staff only brought out one 14 dish combo for all 6 of us to share then tried telling me they combined it all on the one plate. If they did we would have had 3 of everything but we did not we only had 1. There were other tables of 2 people near us that got the same size as we did. What a rip off!!! Very disappointed and will never go here again.

long waiting time, after 40mins we got our drinks and unbelievably 1hour later the food platter. the food was not bad but also not as special, meat was very dry... overall we didn’t feel served well, and the food was not worth the long waiting time. shame, we really were looking forward to the restaurant REGARDING YOUR RESPONSE: we actually paid the full price and would expect an appropriate service (regardless of how busy it is). It's up to you to manage the workload if you are offering that many tables (and just to be clear that on the evening there were less then 1/3 table used... ). And also to confirm that the meat was cold, so I doubt that it was freshly made (/didnt taste like). Just as feedback to consider...

We were cycling 3 days in Sydney, started from Manly and finished at Neutral Bay. It was a great idea to try you guys. It was the most delicious Latin food I had eaten maybe for the whole 2019. When I get back to Toronto I will definitely try Colombian restaurants.
