Review Sapphire Indian Restaurant - Newcastle

An absolutely beautiful restaurant with incredible Indian food and really lovely staff. We’re from south west rocks here on a little visit for 3 days and would drive back JUST for this place. The food was really delicious highly recommend the chicken 65 entree (unreal) and my partner loved the lamb cutlets. Butter chicken was so beautiful and the naan bread the best I’ve ever had. Lovely, lovely restaurant in all aspects. Do yourself a favour and visit, we’ll definitely be back!!!!

Authentic Indian, You should try Vej Manchurian and Chilli Chicken, it's very yummy. The Chef deserves more than 5 stars. Highly recommend if you want to have a food with an authentic Indian taste.

The food was lovely but the customer service could be improved. Our party waited 40 minutes for entrees and 20 minutes for a glass of wine. We watched patiently whilst scores of take away orders were provided and yet nothing to the patrons who actually came to the venue to eat. The food is good but the service requires attention. I recommend eating here but through either take away or uber eats.

The food is absolutely sensational but the service can be painfully slow or borderline non-existent. This would have been a five star review if it was only for the food. Every dish we've had here is up there with the best Indian food we've had anywhere in the world. But one thing is holding these guys back - the service. On the latest arrival, our party of four lurked awkwardly in the middle of the restaurant for almost five minutes before a staff member approached us and took us to our booked table. We were given menus and we were then seemingly forgotten until, after around half an hour, one of our party approached the bar and asked someone to take our food and drinks order. The table was not cleared more than 45 minutes after we'd finished our main course and staff did not return to see what we wanted for dessert. We simply paid the bill and left. Come on, guys. Please sort this out.

After hearing that this place was amazing, we were really disappointed with our experience. We waited over an hour for our food to come out as we watched other tables who arrived after us finish their meals. When the food did arrive (after we asked whether we’d be waiting much longer) the rice was actually cold (!) and the curries were lukewarm at best. We asked to get warm rice and by the time we waited for that to come back out, the curries had gone cold! The flavours of the curries were good but overall disappointing to eat cold meals - especially after waiting so long for them!

Best Indian in Newcastle!!! Authentic Indian food. From the entrees to the mains absolutely delicious!!! Highly recommend the chicken vindaloo. I am sure whatever you order you will not be disappointed. 5 Stars.

The food here never disappoints. Staff attitude with regards problem solving.. not so much. Had an extremely late delivery and food was lukewarm and heavily dishevelled. Called up and explained, and we felt like we were treated very poorly. We still eat here but not so frequently. 🤨

We have been to a few Indian restaurants in Newcastle but this one will be on the very top of our list! They serve Indian/Pakistani food. Even though they define themselves as Indian restaurant, I think their food tastes more Pakistani which is a good thing. Highly recommend!!!

Really enjoyed the mixed entree but it did not leave much space for the main meal. Disappointed that all the chicken dishes are made with thigh(as I only like the breast). The coconut rice was lovely as was the garlic naan. We did not do justice to our main courses as we were unable to eat much of it (too full). This restaurant allows you to BYO wine which is good. Enjoyed being able to look out at the rain and view from the side window of which they have several.

The food presentation and quality is top-notch, though service times are longer. Beautiful place, well worth the visit. The food is tastefully done, with good attention to detail.

We really enjoyed our Sapphire experience. The food was wonderful. We had the shared platter entree. Mains were fantastic as was the naan bread. Amazing. Lots of excellent food at very friendly prices. Have already been recommending Sapphire to family and friends. We'll be returning soon. Thanks for a great evening Sapphire :)

Butter chicken is absolutely yummy, I’ve eaten at most of the Indian restaurants in Newcastle and this restaurant is a blue ribbon winner and deserves to tried and once you have you’ll never go anywhere else!

Great food that fills you up and cheap prices. The place was full to capacity with guests which is always a good sign. Easy to park the car. Great place.

Even though the owners thru a common friend, but my opions is not bias at all. Visiting from sydney we decided to visit them and ordered non veg for me and veg for my wife. Needless to say the entree said all the food would be phenominal - and indeed it was! Staff was too good explaining few dishes. If they would had been in sydney i would be visiting them regularly. Full marks to saphire staff and food.
