The Queens Wharf Hotel is a venue that always seems to deliver better than expected quality and value.
The view over the river and port entry (Nobby’s Heads) is unsurpassed, the staff are fantastic and extremely eager to please, and the food is excellent value for money.
Their good selection of beers & wines is another selling point.
Definitely a place to consider for your next visit to the Newcastle foreshore.

Stopped by this place for a break on our way back to Sydney and couldnt have asked for a better plan. Had a few rounds of juicy oysters of different varieties. Pair that with a great view and time passed quickly just like that. Wish we had more time to spare so that we could be there longer. Fresh local beers available from the taps for those who aren't driving!

Had a Seafood platter, was very looking forward but all fresh seafood are not fresh which you can smell it straight way! Some are off. We complained but they firstly offered some drinks and desserts for a $140 seafood platter! Half of the value of the patter is from the seafood and they want us forget about the seafood, which is absolutely unacceptable. We insist to get some refund from the seafood because we can’t eat those seafood. Finally, we received $40 refund which is about the market value of the seafood told by the waiter. This means we paid $100 for salads and deep fried. Very unpleasant experience for our holiday. Hope this can be improved.

Went there to have a dinner in Newcastle trip. Very cosy and nice place with ocean view. I was so lucky that could see beautiful sunset from there :)

I booked in for my sons 21st birthday lunch. i requested on-line a table next to the windows looking over the harbour. we arrived and the table was amazing. the food was great and the service was too. The prices were really reasonable.

Great views and reasonable prices - that's the positives. On the flip side, the beer selection is small, the wines we tried were not great, and the cocktail of the month was sweet enough to kill anyone with diabetes.
But if you're looking to relax and enjoy the sunset, you'll be hard pressed to find a better spot.

We always love the brewery! The food is fresh, the service is great and the view is superb!
Something I noticed yesterday, however, and this is mainly for kitchen management, was that my chicken schnitzel tasted like fish!!!
Cooking 101 .... do NOT cook fish in the same hot oil as chicken!!!!!

Waiter was the best part of the visit. Attentive, obliging and probably the reason we didn’t return our meal and leave. Good employee.
Oysters to start excellent but the vinegar and shallot dressing was too strong - probably needed the chef to taste before serving.
We both ordered the sirloin steak 150 day hung - requested rare!
We received for $37 a piece of very thin steak med to well done - nothing spectacular - probably better served with onions on a roll. Hugely disappointed for a $160 bill.
Sparkling bottle of house wine surprisingly good, beer good.
Green beans and almonds delicious.
Great setting, high expectation disappointed with the steak. Probably would go back but would stick with bar food for value for money.

Took my husband there for his birthday, but we didn’t eat there and had about 4 drinks on Saturday afternoon, the place wasn’t busy so we sat outside as it was a lovely day.. we thought the beer prices $8.00 were a bit high compared to other pubs... the music through the pub was great but a little too loud..I asked one bar staff (male) about the building and what it use to be before, he had no idea, so I wasn’t impressed that he didn’t know the history of the place, which I think he should’ve had some idea, especially as we weren’t from the area ..

Absolutely amazing. We all ordered Fish & Chips. It would have to be about the freshest fish I've ever had. The food was beautiful. The staff were amazing, very professional, ultra friendly. Always checking if we wanted anything and not just 1 person serving us, great team work! Despite being very busy, we were seated immediately and served quite quickly considering. Can't beat the view! Can't wait to go back!

Had lunch there yesterday. Every dish was fresh and excellent. The Snapper with burnt butter and potato purée and stand out along with the buffalo mozzarella starter. The pasta (particularly the gnocchi with ragout was perfect) Great cocktails and friendly efficient service. Reasonably priced and pub food (any restaurant for that matter) doesn't get better than here.
