Review Parry St Garage - Newcastle

I loved the ambience and the decor. It's magnificent. We went at closing time so it wasn't much crowded. The pizzas were a little dry for my liking but they were still good. Since it's a popular spot and like I said it's beautiful from inside, I will give it another try and order a pasta this time. What would you guys recommend??

A great place for drinks and anti pasto, but not a good experience for a couple looking for dinner. We went on a Saturday night and despite making a booking weeks ahead, we had to sit at the bar. Not only is the bar uncomfortable to sit at as it's too high, but having to face the bar staff and not your dinner companion ruins the point of going to dinner. The food was mediocre. My wife's veal was over cooked and almost too tough to eat. (Probably because our order was lost and they had to rush it out after waiting an hour for it) My pasta dish was good, but you can easily get pasta as good at any pub for about half the price. On top of that, we were asked to hurry up and finish our food as our spot at the bar was booked for a later sitting. The only reason we took so long to finish our food was because they lost our order. (Hardly our fault) The only positive was the cocktails, which were very good. I'd consider going again for the cocktails but would not recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy dinner with someone else.

We were a large party, seated at a long table. Our meals were hot and delicious, the staff forthcoming with information to answer questions. Drinks service took a bit longer than is reasonable, but none were forgotten or incorrect.

HIDDEN GEM! I had heard of Parry Street Garage but never been. It did not disappoint! The aesthetics, atmosphere and scrumptious menu were all amazing. A fantastic place for a casual but delicious meal and catch up or would also make an ideal venue for a bigger gathering. This gem is definitely going on the favourites list. You won't be disappointed folks!

Really nice atmosphere and tasty food, but customer service where personnel can forget the order and won't even ask for an update for more than an hour of wait, that is where significant improvement is required. Nice place to go to if you don't appreciate your own time.

Service needs some attention, had to wait a while for one cocktail, music could be a bit more subtle, dinner was delicious, price was reasonable

Service was good initially, after our entrees came which was burratta and arranchini balls, no one talked to us or checked in for at least 50 minutes. The arranchini was quite cold and the rice was so undercooked it was crunchy and frankly really disappointing. The burratta was flavourless and without salt and pepper or the basil garnish, is a waste of money. The vibe and ambiance was amazing but personally i feel the food needs to match.

If you feel like" Italian food", really recommend this place. More variety on entree, pizza and pasta. Food are very yummy. There's also bar section where there is lots of choices of good looking drinks for you to choose. Really recommend "Buffalo Mozzarella Entree" and "Prawn chili dip with homemade bread" there are so so good. Plan to be back soon 😃

There should be a 6 ⭐️ option . This place has never disappointed. The food is always outstanding. Friendly staff and just a genuinely beautiful place to be

The food here is generally good. The pizzas have always been great and most of the mains that I have tried also fantastic. Had the beetroot salad recently and it was dry as there was no dressing on it at all. Hoping that this was just a forgotten ingredient as generally there salads are always really good. My biggest issue with the place is the service. Never have I been successful in getting a dessert in this place yet....it seems that once 9pm comes weather the meals were slow to come out or not staff don't ask you is you want a dessert as the kitchen is already packing up except for pizzas. Would I go back??? If they improve their service levels then yes- as they have good food at reasonable pricing.

Had a wonderful evening here for a birthday dinner on 22 December 2017. The staff were friendly and nice. We arrived at 530pm for the half price pizza which was great had the prosciutto pizza was very nice. We came back up from Sydney a week later and couldn't resist coming back to have there delicious wood fired pizza!

I keep giving PSG a chance as the food is delicious and the vibe fun. But seriously, the volume of the music at dinner time is beyond ridiculous. When you can’t have a conversation at your table without practically yelling, the sounds are probably too loud. Also the wait staff are fab. ��

Awesome place for date night!! Amazing entrees,Mains and of course..Desserts!! The barman(Matt)was on point with his dessert suggestion. Great atmosphere,and a fire place for the soon to be winter nights!

Exceptional food and prices reflect quality without hitting your pocket, cocktails and drinks are the same though was a slightly longer than ideal wait. Sensational atmosphere and attentive staff however only criticism was paying as hostess had zero emotion or care factor. Definitely recommend.

Drinks took forever, food never arrived. Nice enough staff apologised plenty but we paid for a baby sitter so it was an expensive night for no 2 drinks and no food. Won’t be back. So many better places do yourself a favour and give this joint a miss.

Went drinks and dinner the best place, beautiful friendly staff and great food reasonably priced. See you next trip up from Melbourne.

Waited half an hour for a drink order to be even taken and more than an hour and a half for a food order that was sent to the wrong table and never arrived! We had to ask staff who didn't even notice our lack of food or the fact that everyone around us had eaten two courses in the time we ate half a dozen olives and some fries. Bad inattentive service made worse by the fact that we arrived at 5.30 so not exactly a hugely busy time. Staff seemed everywhere yet not actually doing anything. One girl was too busy bopping away to the music behind the bar than taking orders and looking after the patrons!! Avoid going there

What a great place wonderful food staff friendly efficient, owners should be very proud of all concerned will be recommending to all my friends can’t wait to come back again.

The staff attempted to serve us beer that has sat under the tap for an hr because they stuffed up the first round.

WOW ...... amazing venue created from an old industrial conversion , beautiful food , pizzas to die for , excellent service , definitely coming back 🖤

Went on Saturday night for my Daughters 18th dinner. When we arrived we were told there was already guests that had arrived and had the table pointed out to us. The people already seated at the table were not part of our party. I had to go back to the reception and tell them. After some confusion the people seated at the table were shuffled of to another, staff did not replace the plates , cutlery or glasses from where these people had been sitting. Went to the bar to order a cocktail and told the wait would be 30 minutes???? Ordered a bottle of cider instead. The pizzas ordered had very little topping, were soggy and burn crusts. Also ordered the Pork Belly the crackling was uneatible, hard as a rock could not even be broken up using my hands. On the second attempt to order a cocktail at the bar, the waitress followed me back to the table so as she would know where to bring it. 15 minutes later I went back to the bar to enquire about it and told there were 3 others on the list to be made before mine. Went back to the table and waited another 10 minutes before it arrived. I would think that when you are paying $15 a drink the service would be better. Not once were we asked by wait staff if we were happy with our meals. All in all a very bad experience. Would not recommend to anyone!!

Front of house / wait staff were exceptional on a busy Saturday night. One of the best venues in Newcastle! Great food and great atmosphere.
