Review Six Degrees Bar And Restaurant - Newcastle

Had a great time. The staff were super nice and helpful. We had coffee and some of the best pastries ever. Such a great waterside view too. Plenty of room, great selection of food and beers all with reasonable price. Thanks.

Friendly staff but the food was disappointing. The bread was terribly burn, the lamb shoulder was smelly and the quinoa was over cooked. The scallops and calamari were nice but the fish was too dry. Not worth the money.

Great service and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. Cannot sing it’s praises higher! Had the tiger prawn pasta, mushroom gnocchi and pizzas here with friends and they were all great!

Great location. Great food with a good variety. Moderately expensive but the quality of the food and location make it good value. Service is good and staff are friendly and knowledgeable with the menu. Great variety of quality wine . Great place to dine outdoors and enjoy the view.

The food was well presented and the staff were helpful. We ordered wine which was served in an unclean glass and the steak was over done (it was medium-well instead of medium-rare). After hearing what was wrong with the meals we weren't charged for our 2 glasses of wine. The Brewery, next door would of been a better option for lunch.

Awesome view of the working harbour and a great range of the menu with interesting options for all. The service is usually friendly and helpful and the coffee is generally OK. It can get busy though to be prepared. It is good for a large group at lunch or even if you want a quiet smoohie or coffee and cake. Great for prams and disabled at the outside tables are well spaced and accessible. The parking is OK but this is a good cafe to ride your bike too or walk to as its in a central and easy location.

I was here on a slow Tuesday night and ordered a steak, which arrived perfectly cooked. The wine list is excellent, as is the selection of beers. Expect to spend $50+ per person for a main and a drink. That's probably reasonable for a restaurant on the harbour. I ordered the Chipotle BBQ sauce, which turned out to be a lot hotter than I expected. It tasted good, but I'd recommend order a different sauce unless you are in the mood for lip burn. Venue had a nice ambience. Music playing at around conversation volume, which was fine on the night I visited. I imagine the place could get noisy when full given the concrete floor and ceiling.

Another case of a restaurant that has the “market by the proverbials” and has lost its assumedly great initial service. While the staff where friendly enough when we were there with a group of 8 people ordering coffees. Several wrong orders received, hot chocolates could have been better made at home and my sister who ordered an iced chocolate received it with whipped cream WELL past its used by date. The chips where alright so I won’t give 2 stars but lack-lustre is probably a good description of our experience. I’m told the coffee was pretty good tho.
