Review Napoli Centrale - Newcastle

Tastiest wood-fired pizze in Newcastle! Very popular pizzeria with eat in or out spacious dining areas and take-home service. Simple Clean amenities with large open windows for fresh-air. The wood-fired oven fills the pizzeria with a delicious aroma! Staff is friendly and the manager likes to chat and he kindly took our photograph and made us feel valued customers. Topped our dinner with Ice cold Peroni and a special sweet cocktail. Delicious! Highly Recommended!!!

Great pizza and meatballs. Packed on a Tuesday night. Attentive staff. Solid interior. Left feeling very full and satisfied.

We ordered a takeaway of six pizzas. After 20 minutes 2 were ready and the kitchen had forgotten to do the other 4. After a further 20 minutes, all six pizzas were finally ready. To our disgust they were all stone cold! The quattro formaggi (pictured) had slid off the base completely! So disappointed. There was no apology or offer of a discount. Upside, the gluten free bases are quite nice.

Lovely quiet Saturday lunch for our anniversary. Authentic Italian. Huge pizzas, great menu, wonderful people. Their limoncello is home made and delicious!

Very nice place. All the food very yummy and the tiramisù sublime. In addition to the food a DJ was playing music and it remember me to Ibiza. Place to go without doubt

Really great pizza, however it is a bit pricey. They are quick and do takeaway. Recommending grabbing some tzatziki dip from woolies and having it with that

Absolutely delicious food - ordered the Napoli centrale and truffle gnocchi, and tiramisu for dessert. The wood fired pizza is amazing - I would’ve traded the gnocchi for another pizza. Crust was fluffy and not soggy at all. The service was lovely. We also were spoiled by amazing live music (drums, bass and keys) - the acoustics sounded so good! Definitely will come back again.

Really tasty food, boyfriend looved the lasagne and the pizza was delicious. Great atmosphere and service (staff very attentive and friendly) along with DJ outside playing great tunes whilst eating pizza, what more could you want!

Pizzas, pastas and salads all great. Service was great too. A good atmosphere made for a good night out. Highly recommend

On a whim our son suggested we have dinner - on him - at the Napoli Pizza Bar. No booking but found a table for three, the service was very attentive, aaaand the food was to die for. But as usual there was to much so we boxed what was left. Would we go there again...you bet we would, the place was clean and cosy and packed to the rafters with a lot of young people. My Diavola was spot on. Can't wait for tomorrow, for the second time round pizza. It always tastes better second time round.

1. Staff don't know menu. 2. Gnocchi was like packet no name Coles. 3. Parmesan cheese? 4. Pizza burnt base and cold toppings. 5. Would not recommend and won't return.

Decided to drop in on a Sunday night and they had a live band playing, ordered a gorgeous pasta dish with pork and fennel sausage, delicious and had a lovely aperol Spritz to take me back to Italy .... then went across the road to Popolo for Gelato ... which is as good as any I had in Italy ... Grazia

Completely understand why this place is always packed now and we should have had a reservation. These are very traditional style Italian pizzas where less is more so they can let the flavours sing to you. The best pizzas I have ever had are always on a fresh base and the combination of toppings are sensational. If you don't walk out in a food coma you're not at the right place then.

Authentic Italian pizza, straight from Naples. Lovely red wine, great salads.

Our family had a wonderful meal at Napoli Centrale on Sunday night early, with a booking to ensure we could get a spot. We were promptly seated, helped with menus and our Order was taken at just the right time. It was very busy and still our meals came out after just the right amount of conversation. The Pizzas and Pasta were all wonderful and took two of us back to 1998 in Italy and the fresh light pizza dough base and flavour filled food. The band were very good but just a touch loud for a family conversation. We will be back again and wouldn't change a thing!! Gelato topped off a terrific meal!!

Food was amazing, we had cacio e pepe pasta (to die for!!) and prosciutto e rucola pizza then somehow still managed to share a tiramisu - everything was so delicious and authentic, will definitely be going back for more!

10/10 meal, closest thing to an actual Italian pizza I've had in Newcastle. 4 vegan options. Metre long pizzas. Can't wait to go back.

One metre pizza was delicious. We will drive from Sydney to Newcastle just to have a Napoli Centrale pizza again. Yumm!!
Rhonda Jacobson
The best pizza, best service. Had a great night! Yum!
Paul Sandilands
The best pizza you will ever eat served by hard working and friendly people.
Sam Dipietro
Overpriced, pasta was undercooked and the sauce tasted like it was just dumped out of can with no seasoning, pizza was soggy and burnt will not be going back

Pizzas are some of the best we've had in Australia. Perfect base with a sweet and tasty pomodoro sauce using quality ingredients. The pear and rocket salad was to die for!
Alberto
Ooohhhh...the pizza!!Fantastic, delicious, authentic.<br/>I'm Italian and even in Italy it's hard to find such good pizza!!<br/>The atmosphere is really nice and very "alive"<br/>Love it..can't wait to go back!!

<br/>Delicious authentic pizza made with love by passionate Italians. Great service and very family friendly with highchairs, colouring for the kids and good value.

Have never written a food review but the food was so bad I just had to.<br/>We sat down at this restaurant as it was busy so assumed it was good - not the case!! We ordered an $18 dollar bruschetta (we initally balked at the price but we love a good bruschetta) which didn't come out for a good 25min and when it did we sent it back. It was a dry pizza base cut up into slices with about 2 cherry tomato halves, a wafer-thin slice of mozarella, and a basil leaf per slice - terrible! No olive oil, garlic, etc at all.<br/><br/>The pizza that came out was ok but pretty light-on with the toppings. One small dob of mozarella per slice is pretty average in my book.<br/><br/>Gnocchi was literally only pieces of gnocchi in a thin 'napoli' sauce which tasted bland and like it came straight from a no-frills brand supermarket tin.<br/><br/>Overall pretty unimpressed for the food we had and the price we paid for it. I've been to Italy and Italians would be ashamed this is branded 'true' Italian food. I love this type of restaurant - Via Napoli in Sydney is fantastic - but this restaurant seems like a poor distant cousin to that. Will never come here again and in fact have actively recommended to friends that they NOT come here.

Came here a few weeks ago and forgot to write a review, the only reason I'm writing one now is because I'm still thinking about the gnocchi I had. The menu doesn't have any vegan options but after a quick chat with the waitress (a fellow vegan) she managed to organise gnocchi with Napoli sauce for me and it was to die for. Food was quick to come out, inside was very loud and staff were friendly however, took forever to clear plates off table and take drink orders. <br/>All in the all the night was a pleasant one and I'll be back to get more gnocchi, I'm salivating now just thinking about it.

Honestly, some of the reviews posted about this restaurant are just pig ignorant. If you want greasy, fatty, puffy pizza with a million toppings, go to Dominoes. Napoli Centrale serves genuine wood-fired Italian pizza with uncomplicated and fresh ingredients. I bloody love their pizza. Service can be slow on busy nights and bookings are essential on Thursdays, Fridays and the weekend. Take-away from here doesn't really work as pizzas lose their heat quickly.

Sensational service. Very attentive. Fabulous good and beautiful wine. Will definitely be back soon and will highly recommend it to my friends.

Huge Disappointment!!!!!!! 31st January 2015. Upon arrival at 7pm on a Saturday night we were seated outside, right near the takeaway window, it felt very grotty. We sat for 15 minutes not sure if we should get up to place our orders as we had not been asked for drink orders or meals! Finally the waitress, who was not overly welcoming, came back to take our orders....We asked for 5 lemonades and 2 top of the range Peroni beers ( the choice of beers was very limited) to be told they had run out of lemonade and of that particular beer! How do you run out of lemonade at 7pm?! We placed our pizza order at the same time, after looking at the menu which again didn't offer many options. The pizzas were very average. Ultra thin doughy base which appeared to have been cooked without the toppings! As slices were pulled from the serving plate all of the topping would fall off! The wafer thin base made it almost impossible to hold the pizza so cutlery was required, unless you folded the pizza over and ate it like that.<br/>Overall we were really disappointed with the whole experience and will NOT be returning. Over priced and overrated!

Scared. Having been putting off going to Napoli Centrale for scared of being disappointed. <br/>Did not book, arrived early Sunday night. place was half empty, the nice male waiter asked us to wait while he asked the brunette waitress if there was a table for 2. She snarled at the poor waiter he returned telling us very nicely that it was a 30min wait. We decided on take away. The pizza's we ordered, one Capriosca and one NC. The dough was uncooked in the centre. It was cold with a pool of liquid in the centre. it was soggy cold and awful. Ive had pizza in Italy and it was not like this. <br/>Newcastle again, a consistent disappointment.

Overall pretty average. Very few choices and even less toppings. Boring really.

Disappointing. A friend and I ordered a pizza and salad for dinner after a film next door at Tower. Neither of us had ever eaten there and it was very busy so we figured it was a safe bet. Our pear and rocket salad was nice but the pizza was, unfortunately, terrible. The overall flavour of the pizza was bland. The flavour of the pizza sauce tasted unusual but very familiar - we finally worked it out, and I hate to say this...tinned spaghetti. I love authentic Italian pizza but this was not good and I doubt I shall ever return to this restaurant. Sorry.
