Review Raj's Corner - Newcastle

Good food , great service and overall very fair pricing. The one let down that I think they need to improve is how the lamb is cooked, I think it was a bit hard but overall a very good restaurant with very kind staff . Would recommend anyone to try the chicken biryani here. Really nice.

Recently moved from Melbourne. One of the best places to go for Indian food. Their Aloo parantha is to die for 🤤🤤 Huge variety of fresh sweets.! Glad i found this place in NewCastle 😇

Taste is good. Looks like the peoples favourite in locality. Very crowded and no waiter services and self service only. Can make better if waiter service is provided. Need to manage separate section for take away and dine in. Slightly expensive but worth for it. Separating veg and non veg sections would make amazing change. Cheers

I used to love this place but in the past year or so service and quality has gone down hill. You get 3/4 of a tub of rice and a small amount of curry on top, even when I asked for less rice. The curry was served with no additional sauce and overall it was dry and not near as nice as it used to be. I would recommend you train your staff so they are consistent with serving sizes!

They do a really hot beef dish.. very tasty, but I think it's been tamed down and now kind of blends in with the rest of the curries. Overall it's a reliable meal with great service and a fair price, you can eat in or take away.

The chicken curry with rice and dhal was delicious and not too hot 🌶️🌶️ It was certainly value for money and would recommend it for anyone wanting a quick feed or craving Indian cuisine while in Hamilton.

The idea of 3 curry with rice or naan is great but who serves them on top of each other? Who eats beef, chicken and lamb all together? Give them separately or at least give a plate with separate cubbies. 2 start because of lassie. Almost perfect

My experience with restaurant service team members was horrendous. Poor customer service and instead of finding a solution for the customer requirements, they made a statement which meant it wasn’t their problem. Would really appreciate if staff members are trained well to communicate to customers.

Pit stop while visiting newcastle. There was a huge rush .. spotted more foreigners than indians.. kuch to baat hogi khane mei - my first impression upon entering. We packed some :
Tandoori Chicken (not so juicy with right amount of flavour )
Chicken strips ( almost like kfc)
Chicken Biryani ( decent or maybe we were too hungry to actually judge) hence no pictures as well
Still i am giving this 4 star because of the variety in menu, good quantity, reasonable pricing, friendly punjabi staff.

Well priced and food quantity. The paneer saag was quite bad to be quite honest but the chickpea curry was amazing. Naans were good too. It was more than we had expected on our long road trip. Though it wasn’t the beat it gave us enough “fuel” to get us home!

The food is good here. Enjoyed the good food. The quantity is also good. Fast service. The staff is really good. Better than many other Indian restaurants.

Worst ever food I eat, I ordered lamb biryani and lamb was so hard to eat because wasn't boiled properly. I let them know and they just ignore it. Poor service!

Food was ok, Samosa was great but sweet(chamcham) was very bad. The staff rudly refused to accept that the fact that the sweet was not fresh and stiff.

My fiance travelled frequently between Sydney and Newcastle (before we moved to Melbourne) and this was our monthly cheat meal! Indian is my favourite cuisine so I am really picky with it. That being said, I've had sensational Indian in Melbourne - Raj's isn't quite up there but it is the best in Newcastle. The dishes are quite spicy enough and way too saucy. A butter chicken or korma are a tad too bland. The Rogan josh is sensation but a little more meat would be nice.

The flavours are there but need a little more seasoning. The garlic and coriander naan is one of my favourite!

What a waste of money. This place is scared of giving any food for your money. They put it on your plate then take it iff again. They sort through the curry as they serve it and literally count the pieces if meat. None of the meat tastes as if it was cooked in the curry gravy and vegetable curry was watery and bland. Its not cheap either, so i suggest give this one a muss.
