Review The Greenroof - Newcastle

Sally Jones
Really delicious lunch. They have a good range of $15 lunch specials. We had the steak, fish, dumplings and fried chicken and it was all great! Nice little kids spot too!

Completely overpriced and the food was so over loaded with salt that we couldn’t eat it ☹️. The draw card was that we could bring our lab, and I love the architecture, but the food was horrendous. Ordered the macaroni with wild mushrooms. From memory it was 22 bucks. It was clearly a can of cream mushroom soup with macaroni that was undercooked. A tea spoon of “ wild” mushrooms and so much salt. I couldn’t eat it so I ate the veges that came with husbands snitty, well tried to anyways. The veges were so salty that I couldn’t them either. Service was lovely, but the food was incredibly bad

Greenroof is a good hotel You can tell that the hotel has been renovated. They have 2 bathrooms for 7 rooms I think. Bathroom are huge and have two shower head. Room have aircon and tv as well as a fridge, desk and dressing. Parking can be full with staff parking on it. Rooms are above a bar so you can hear everything and the downside was their kitchen. Even though the food was alright, one of the girl in the kitchen was eating in front of us the whole time. We stayed about 1h and she was eating the food she was making the whole time. It’s a bit of a out of for customers. Further the chef that served us the food was quiet rude or unhappy. Not a friendly service. The accomodation was great however I was reluctant about the kitchen (I have been a head chef for more than 10years), Hence the 4 star instead of five

Well presented Hotel, staff service was excellent. Lost of star due to meal service, late and not plated well.

Great little hotel. Room had all the usual amenities. Be aware that you are sharing two bathrooms with the other occupants, but the bathrooms were spacious and modern and we only had to wait once, and then it was only for a minute. The bass from the pub below is just audible, but we were able to sleep through it. Pub below has some very delicious food and wonderful staff.

Horrid venue that chooses to go against government advice regarding the easing of restrictions on December 15th. Plenty of other pubs around that don’t DISCRIMINATE don’t give them your business. Shame on you guys.

Could not recommend this place enough! The staff and management are amazing, accommodation and facilities are clean and very comfortable, good music, fun people, it was a great night!

Upstairs accomodation is smick, all the staff are super friendly and their menu is stacked with all kinds of delicious meals. $10 pasta and waffle specials on Tuesdays is a serious winner.

I went there for a birthday party. The food was really good, and something different which we enjoyed. There was a 40 minute wait but they let us know before we ordered so that was completely fine. The staff were helpful choosing a beer as they had no fat yak or 150 lashes, the option they suggested was great. All round good night!

Chefs are extremely rude and served up an average meal. They were cranky at me when I asked if take away was an option as it has been in the passed. It was such a huge hassle for them so I had to order meals in, then grab my own containers and poor them in.

Tasty meatballs, nice relaxed atmosphere, a bit disappointed in the tap beer selection, but friendly staff and nice food.

Lovely atmosphere, excellent staff, great pub food....the meatball, base and sauce combinations various so I'll have to go back at least 20 times to have all the permutations

The food was excellent and I would recommend this place to anyone out there looking for a good feed and a very reasonable price. I will definitely be visiting again very soon with friends and families.
