Review Swell At Bar Beach - Newcastle

The food was pretty average, it was somewhat fast and the view is very nice. They only have outside seating which isn't fully covered from the sun, the menu is pretty decent in terms of looks and variety. The coffee wasn't that great and we couldn't taste any of the sugar added. Overall it's nice as a meal before swimming or after swimming but not as a restaurant.

If you are looking for a quick feed by the sea, you can't go past the Swell Kiosk. We usually have the fish burger and chips. Freshly cooked fish on a toasted bun, lettuce and sauce, yummy. The chips are pretty damn good, golden and crunchy. Coffee are also good. You can sit on many of the tables provided or in your car and watch the ocean.

Great place for coffee! The bacon and egg roll I had was freshly cooked with a house relish and was very tasty. The view is spectacular. The staff very friendly. Highly recommend.

This place used to be good. Last year I tried 3 times the big swell burger and the meat was burnt. I just had it again today and I believe it was reheated on the microwave, the meat was dry. The chips has a yellow colour and so greasy. If the signature food is terrible what you are going to expect from the rest of the menu? Too many seagulls addicted to chips and they will chase you. The food at the Surf Club next door is very good. The problem is that they don’t open all the time.

Absolutely the worst coffee I have ever had!! I threw it in the bin, undrinkable. Others in the group had terrible coffee too, but because they weren't well-versed in the coffee tasting world they suffered through it. Even the juice was not up to par, it went to the bin too. When I spoke to other people they just said ' Yep the coffee there is s**t'. Just don't bother going there. I'd expect the food to also be sub standard. The only thing nice about this place is its location.

Fast and efficient service. Good staff. Good food. Our coffee and hot chocolates were great. Excellent view. Seating located in front and to the sides of the cafe. On-street parking is located above the cafe on the main road. Off-street parking is located to the north in the main carpark. Public toilets are nearby.

I've uploaded some photos of the view here which is totally awesome. Can't beat that view for a morning coffee. I only got a coffee but the muffins and other food looked good as well. And finally, the coffee was hot, strong and tasty. Also a really good place to go if you like panting random dogs

A unique cafe hidden under. Exceptional staff and the food is first rate. What a great place to spend some time.
