Omg haven’t been in a while but food (cob salad and those awesome chicken wings) amazing. And 10/10 for my fave wine (dog point sav) on the menu now. Had an absolutely great night and changes are totally awesome (for me anyway) well done guys ��

Setting to die for, Sunset on Pittwater. �
So lucky to have The Newport so close to home. We sat for the first time in the table service area. Wow!!! What a sensational spot to watch the sunset over Pittwater. Menu is still a bit limited but we were so pleased with every meal. The service was wonderful, very pleasant staff so polite, attentive and engaging. We highly recommend it.
Fabulous find for us. We live in the Hills and this was worth the hour drive. We visit many different never been to places on weekends and this was a super find. Very family friendly with loads of different food options and drinks, although expensive, are no different to other pubs. Lots of different areas to sit depending if u like the view, the quiet, kid friendly, or young hip and happening area. The young gorgeous girl that served us explained the pub areas beautifully and was super lovely. Tables were cleared quickly and the misters were delightful. We will definitely be back with our tribe of 6 adult kids/partners soon to enjoy a lazy afternoon/evening
Fantastic atmosphere, great service and what about your choices of food. Plus a free ride home in a combi thanks to Justin the owner you have created a fabulous place for the whole family to enjoy.Its the second time back for us and the food has been outstanding. Prawn bucket, salt / pepper calamari just on Saturday, two weeks ago we shared the half a chicken with corn on the cob and green salad. Had an awesome dinner on New Years Day.. vibe was great and so was the food.. The seafood is particularly good.. salt n pepper squid and bug and squid singapore noodles are the faves.
Had such a great afternoon here - ambience is off the radar and just such a good vibe. The sort of place you don't really want to recommend because of fear you will have to queue up 2k down the road next time you go there but being an unselfish person I give it a huge tick.
Beautiful spot in a prime location on the northern beaches with a variety of quality food offerings including salads, seafood, pizza and burgers. The downside is having to queue at each food service outlet rather than being able to order at one central location.
Such a large beautiful garden venue overlooking the water. The Long Island cocktail was delicious, the bucket of prawns ($33) were great, a good amount and so large and fresh. The Margherita pizza also was fantastic, great dough and nice fresh basil. The way ordering/collecting food works I found a little confusing otherwise great experience.
The Newport is another of Merivales Northern Beaches venue. The venue itself is beautiful with plenty of space. The set up is about 5 different food outlets you can order from. They have pizza, seafood, burgers, chicken platters. The best way to do it is order a few things from each station and just make a big sharing feast. The wings and burgers from the shack are really yummy along with Vinnies pizza. Its good for kids to run around and best to go with a big group. They have The Crovado - its a fruity cocktail that is so refreshing and yummy. Definitely worth the travel to get there. A. lot of people make a weekend out of it and get an AirBnB for the night.
Entered from the back. All tables with a view were all booked. There's noone to greet you. We spent the first 15 mins walking around looking for assistance. Found it really difficult finding someone to help. Found the odd person clearing tables. Ended up going to the pizza place to ask how to get a table. There is absolutely no service here. There's no waiters. You need to line up to place your order for food and drinks. We had to split up to order our lunch. Came here on Sunday and was hit with a weekend surcharge and credit card surcharge. Atmosphere is good. Becareful if you sit under trees. Food is good however overpriced.
Had oysters, chicken wings, calamari, chicken and pizza. All good. By the time we ate, all the food was cold.

One of my fav places in Sydney! Opposite our fav dog beach too. The Newport is a Merivale venue is best described as an alfresco marketplace with a kiosk, pizzeria, shack and seafood market. All dog friendly!. I’ve eaten at the Shack and the seafood market. Lots of variety on the menu. Food comes pretty quick even when busy. Grab a table, look out at the view and enjoy the Newport.
Awesome atmosphere and ambience. Place was packed on a Saturday night. Live music playing. Multiples bars to order alcohol from, cocktails were good. Standard prices. Menu is similar to pub food we ordered the burger and pizza. Burger was alright, pizza was good fresh out of the oven.
Love this place from the first sight! Nice relaxing atmosphere, live music, with delicious food. I know it’s a bit more expensive than other places, but considering the environment and the vibe, this is good enough. Will definitely come back!

Great stop for a sunny weekend. Loved our lunch here - ended up spending over 4 hours just for lunch. Food is great as well, so definitely a plus.
I went here with my fiancée over the Christmas break for dinner and a few drinks.
The place has character, there's no denying it. With three different eateries within the one place there's plenty of choice and different areas to relax in.
We went to the kiosk and ordered the tandoori chicken and smoked salmon, washed down with a well priced $8 pint (special during live cricket).
Both dishes were very yummy, well complimented by condiments (mint yoghurt for the tandoori chicken and creme fraiche for the salmon). They even came with small flatbread to make into wraps. However for $26 and $29 respectively they were on the pricier side of dinner.
If in Newport, the Newport is is a must for the view and a nice cold brew looking at the water. Food is great quality but not cheap so maybe share the chicken tandoori and use the wraps to feed a couple of people - or check out the cheap Thai place across the road and use the difference on drinks!
Such a cool vibe! There are lots of different stations for food and drinks, the entire place has been redone and looks amazing. There are trees everywhere and it overlooks the water, with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. We had the bucket of tiger prawns and gnomo pizza, both were delicious. The prawns were super fresh and perfect for a hot day. The drinks are also decently priced, and I highly recommend the Sloe Breakfast cocktail if you're a fan of gin.
Market umbrellas, candy-coloured loungers and white wooden tables adorn the leafy outdoor deck that overlooks a pretty sublime scene of Pittwater. A Northern Beaches version of Coogee Pavilion, The Newport is monstrous in size. It’s also dog and kid-friendly, with a games room equipped with face painting, a bowling alley and every other possible under-12 distraction.
Choose what you want to peck on from a variety of food stalls – everything from seafood and pizza to burgers and salads. Oh, and I can’t leave without mentioning the live music and DJs.
A great Sydney playground for foodies, kids & hungry humans who seek versatility! Pizzeria, asian, ice creamery, you name it, its there! Worth the trip, but best to head in early to snag a car park and table!
It’s a bit confusing at first, as there are a gajillion tables and few staff, and different counters to wander up to for food, must I learn your system to order here? Yes, it seems so. thankfully the teens think this type of thing is marvellous, so off they go with a greenie or two and gleefully return to table clutching that silly device that vibrates when your food is ready.
The pizzas here are good, not the best ever (which would be mine, lamb and rocket, on the Adl Hills farm with The Seppelt lad working the oven), and of course, pricey, it is Sydney after all. Price usually reflects the decor/view in Sydney, not the quality of the food.
5 stars for the venue. It’s truly divine. What a view! The food is good, not brilliant but it’s good enough to please all the family and friends. It’s a wicked place to take out of towners to show off our town, haha!
YES TO VIBES. Great, quick service, top pizzas, decent cocktails (a little pricey) - GORGEOUS views & the parking situation is tops. 10/10 would make this my local if I didn’t live so far away.
Staff were friendly, burgers came out in reasonable time though I may have ordered the wrong burger as I was not wowed in any way.
I ordered a fish burger, it was what was expected of a fish burger: bun, tartare sauce, fried fish, slice of cheese, however nothing stood out. There was no spark to the end result of the making which was a real shame as it seems like a big food buzz here.
The fish burger was simply deep fried but only the tartare sauce was to taste throughout the burger. I would drench it in Tabasco sauce however it was missing something in the burger, possibly a pickled vegetable or extra cheese would have improved it.
The vibe is definitely positive as it is situated within the "backyard" within the local pub. May consider returning here for something else.
Another classic Merivale-owned venture that seems to be a hit. This one's been around awhile and although I'm not sure what the major changes have been since the change of management (I've only known about it since I moved to Sydney within the last year), it certainly appears to be a thriving establishment. One of the biggest appeals is clearly the size; there are multiple menus and sort of "sub restaurants" in the one location with a variety of food/drink options and prices, allowing it to cater to a mixed crowd (certainly the vibe you'll notice when visiting).
Only complaint is that some food items seem over-priced and that on certain days it can be overwhelmingly busy. However, both these shortcomings are avoidable on the customer's end, so I'd certainly recommend giving it a look.
The Newport is the perfect Summer venue with spectacular views across Pittwater and a beautiful garden and fountain setting.
We went on a Saturday evening and the place was absolutely packed.
There are multiple different eateries to choose from within the venue. I choose the Seared Salmon Salad from the Seafood Market eatery. The salmon was lightly seared to perfection and the chilli and black vinegar dressing was delicious.
My dining companions were equally happy with their classic cheese burger and salt & pepper calamari.
The cocktails are exquisite and my choice of a frose was so deliciously refreshing on a hot summer evening.
I will definitely be back!
The Newport is the place to go near the Palm Beach area it seems. They have multiple sections within the location - something to suit everyone's needs. Even had a table tennis area!
It is definitely quite pretty with the mini fountains and lights but the most memorable part was the greek salad. I know.... it's a salad. And a pretty common one at that. But this salad was the best salad I have ever had hands down. It's even worth the drive to Newport just for this salad! The oil and pepper they used changed EVERYTHING and made this into such an amazing salad that was unforgettable. And the veggies as well actually, they were so fresh and juicy. I'm drooling and I have never felt this way about a salad before.
The service was quite average, actually below average to be honest. The rating would have been 5 had it not been for the service.
First time at The Newport yesterday for Fathers Day and let me say... Merivale keep outdoing themselves - big 👍🏼 from me! Food was great bar a few minor details - pizzas were a bit too doughy for my liking and didn't have enough cheese and the chips got really soggy in their cardboard box. What made up for this was the fresh seafood dishes, spectacular views and beautiful live band that was playing incredible covers of new and old school songs. If the drive wasn't so far, I'd be here nearly every weekend!
Great place to spend the weekend having some drinks in the summer! Family friendly as well.
We had the chicken burger and cheese burger and I was so satisfied. They are American style and tasty. Maybe a little pricey though. I'd still return!
We went on a Sunday evening but surprisingly there were people hanging out there unlike many other pubs on a Sunday evening. It's a huge place with an amazing ambience facing the water. We tried the pizza which wasn't bad but most of their food stalls were closed so couldn't try much. Definitely plan to go back in day time and explore more.
The renos have revealed a fresh modernised rustic atmosphere to the "Arms".

One of the Merivale portfolio joints and it’s hard to deny that they know how to pull it off - sprucing up an F&B outlet and giving it some sparkle. The place is large and is catered to families in the Northern Beaches. There is a shaded play area for the kids; scrabble wall, bowling pins, table tennis etc. On this wonderfully blue sky Sunday at the end of winter, we had an animal show-and-tell with reptiles, lizards and the like for the kids.
The ambiance is pleasant and a wonderful setting for a lazy Sunday afternoon with the family. The live band plays a soulful rendition of Otis Redding’s Sitting by the Dock of the Bay, as you look across into Bayview.
The food outlets are split up into several POS markers across the area; (1) the shack, which does fish and chips, burgers and salad (2) a couple of bar areas (3) a pizza section, (4) a rotisserie section (5) a noodle, oyster, iced prawn section. These are dotted around the place and whilst makes it confusing for a first timer or painful if you need to place several orders, the concept does defuse the queues.
The food was fresh and brilliant. We ordered the fish and chips, a ham and mushroom pizza, the calamari and the chicken wings. They were all fab. It seems that you can’t go wrong with your order.
Lovely place, lovely concept. It does get crowded and packed, so be prepared to wait or go early. See you there soon.
The Newport, Really enjoyed this place, good vibe, excellent view, great food, tasty drinks, that summed it up! However, it can be difficult to find a parking spot.
Superb food and atmosphere. Justin has made this place upmarket and the vibe is awesome with a live band. Recommend the gambari pizza and the rotisserie chicken! Sundays at sunset is perfect timing
Decided to drop by after lunch at the boathouse on the swede's request to just have a drink. From the folks that brought us Coogee Pavillon. Great outdoorsy area. What was supposed to be a beer turned into a basket of chicken wings and almost pizza! Will definitely be back with an empty stomach!
The Newport Arms was always a great place to meet some friends on a Summer weekend and pass a few hours having a chat and a drink. But there was no doubt it was looking a little tired. Enter Merivale who have now taken it over (and dropped the “Arms” from the name) and are gradually refurbishing it, with the first stage opening recently. Its a similar concept to Coogee Pavilion, but on a much larger scale, more outdoor space, and that great view over the water. A grey day and coolish day doesn’t stop the crowds from descending; a live band is playing and the atmosphere is relaxed as it ever was.
Awesome place right on the water with different areas and different food. We had the pizza and it was the best I have had so far. Great puzzle and play area for the kids as well. Would be a great hangout spot with friends. Only down part is parking is a little difficult and it can get really busy.
Food is delicious but it's a bit annoying that you have to buy your items from different areas (pizzas in one spot, burgers in another). Quality makes up for it though and a beautiful setting
We loved what the Merivale team has done with the Newport Arms. Scattered food kiosks gives it a Dubai brunch sort of feel which is always a good thing. The menu didn't grab us immediately, however the food was very good. The large outdoor stage is very cool. Can't wait to see what the indoor section looks like when it opens. What was really refreshing was to see Justin Hemmes and his Executive Chef Sebastien running the pass. It was also refreshing to be at a waterside venue and not be attacked by seagulls. I'm not sure what they've done with them but I didn't spot one! Great job and we can't wait til it's all finished.

Now known as "The Newport", this wonderful establishment joins the Merivale ranks as its newest member. And Boy does Justin Hemmes deliver as usual. Best described as a Cross between The Grounds and a 5 star Resort, this place delivers on atmosphere and food.
Food is fantastic with a large variety at your disposal with all staff welcoming and very helpful.

"The Newport" is now open after Justin Hemmes has worked his magic and given The Newport Arms a fresh new makeover; and it looks fantastic. While moving toward a trendier decor and younger atmosphere, The Newport still is a family oriented pub-club establishment. Where the old kitchen used to be, there is now a kids play area complete with bowling, giant crossword things, and other bits and bobs to keep young ones happy. The public bar upstairs still is operating (and doesnt seem to be renovated- maybe later?) as is the bottle shop (on 14th of April, however have heard from others that it isnt operating).
The view of course is the same, but the outdoor area has been re-landscaped and has multiple stand alone "shops" to buy food and drink. Today I had a few superfood smoothies from the juice bar and a Margherita from "Vinnie's Pizza".
The first smoothie a Maqui Warrior was really good. They happily substituted the dates for strawberries for me. We also had the Green Juice and the Roots Juice. The juices are kept in the fridge- they must press before the crowd so they arent swamped. Its still fresh but steep price at $9. The smoothies are blended fresh and are also $9. All their smoothies contain "superfoods" like maqui or lacuma so kudos for that- eases your mind when its $9.
The margherita ($20) was suprisingly really good. For a "pub" that has to push food out really quickly the quality is high and the best pizza in the Newport area. Their pizzas are more Neopolitan style; the only critique I would have is that I like the basil cooked into the tomato sauce, but thats a personal preference and again- "pub" like place that has to push food out quickly.
The prawns in the prawn buckets are fresh, and is very popular it seems.
The menus are small, which generally is a good sign as they can more easily focus on and perfect what they are serving.
Service here so far has been really good too. The staff are friendly and accommodating.
The Newport has been packed during the evenings. We went today for Thursday lunch, and it wasnt crowded, but there was no parking.
Note: the food here has significantly improved, and no longer "pub" priced (ie. $26 for fish and chips).
Love the Newport arms on a sunny Sunday afternoon. There's no better place to be. Stunning view and reasonably priced alcohol. Service is pretty average but what more would you expect from a hotel/pub! Love that they are family friendly, the kids are happy playing while we can enjoy an afternoon beverage. The food is a little over priced for what you get/quality but I guess we pay for the view!
The view is fantastic and it's such a great place to chill out for a few hours. However, $14 for a bowl of wedges seems rather overpriced, although they were tasty. Meal sizes are generous and the pizzas looked nice as they came out. I had an Asian salad with quinoa & chicken - a large serving on a long rectangular plate. Nice enough but lacking a bit of flavour.
Unbeatable view, amazing spot to kick back with a beer after work or on a Sunday arvo. Food is tasty and portions are good but it isn't cheap, can get very crowded in summer school holidays.

Went here on two occasions and could not go past the wood fire pizza here. Pizza's are DELICIOUS!! Great dough and right amount of thinness and topping. Also BYO truffle and home diced chilli :)
Lovely venue in an amazing location with great cocktails. The food was average, especially considering the price. Fish burger was really oily and the calamari was bland but the staff were helpful. Came back the next day and got a pizza which was way better!
The Newport has changed a lot since the 80's and 90's when I frequented here, half the time illegally hahaha. But now I have put on a few years and feel like a grandpa as girls (and some boys) walked by wearing tea towels and other short things that reveal way too much hahaha (listen to me). 👴🏻🍺🦐
It was the first of our school group's birthdays yesterday so I managed to convince Scotty G to venture to The Newport to wish Kai a Happy 50th. 🥳🎁🎂
Being a Sunday arvo, being old and being out with grandpa isolationist Scott meant a brief visit - so we spent an hour with Kai and his group and then snuck off for a little dinner before beating the street lights home.
🦐🐓 I had to have the Prawn roll - I saw people walking around with them and thought they were Lobster Rolls. The juiciest prawn roll ever!! Scott went the Za’atar Spiced Rotisserie Chicken which looked superb and is on my list for my next visit.
Besides it being very wet the atmosphere was great. We got an amazing pizza and even sneakily let our dogs walk around the empty tables! The jalapeno margharita was the best I have ever had!
