Review The Vintage Cafe - Newtown

This place is awesome! I came with group of friends, it was Sunday dinner time, there was live music performances that make the atmosphere classic and fancy. We ordered octopus, grilled shrimp, grilled mushroom, meatballs, authentic chorizo in flame (this one really achieved amazing visual impact) and seafood and chicken paellas. I have to say, this place is soooo great that I am sure will come back next time. Friendly atmosphere, great food, friendly staff.

Lunch with friends.... quiet day... great service, good fresh food, nice eggs benedict. Recommend the vegetarian sandwich on great turkish bread. Had the coffee here before.. pretty good too. Another trip.... really good.... Mediterranean omelette very tasty. the vegetarian sandwich still fabulous.

Nice decor, the bacalhau coccottes was nice, a little mild in flavour but great texture. Spanish omelette was a bit on the salty side, overpowered the olives. Wife wasn't a fan of the prawn spaghetti. Wouldn't mind trying the tapas at night but wouldn't return for breakfast/lunch

Came here after the Newtown festival and walked into a jazz jam session! Turns out they have jazz jamming on Sunday afternoon from around 5! Really like the vibe in this cafe. Friendly staff too but hadn’t really tried the food here yet

Good service and restaurant decorations. However, breakfast food menu needs improvement especially the Vintage Breakfast cost around $18.90 something. Mushroom too salty and eggs cooked for too long. Also, for some breakfast over $15 should have a least a little bit better presentation than this.

Place is as it's name. Got good feel good of vintage bars. Food was tasty & filly. Service was quick. Staff were polite. Loved the ambience. Would like to go again. 😊

Nice vibe to the restaurant. Great friendly staff. Food is enjoyable but not a wow factor. Great coffee!

Coffee is a bit on the harsh side, but this is very much a personal taste thing. The food is OK - nothing overwhelming but certainly acceptable. Service was quick and friendly.

Love this place when I’m in Sydney, great food and friendly atmosphere in the very cool Newtown

First time here. Good coffee and service. Food was above average. Really good in fact. Had the bacon benedict. Loved the way it was served - all items separate on the plate and not smushed together. Pick and choose how you eat. A small thing but I appreciated it. Yay!

The wagyu burger and chips is nice But their coffee.... Is seriously just NOT coffee... It's just coffee-flavoured hot milk.. not satisfied

Although we only had juice it was delicious and fresh, the vibes are cool and the staff friendly!

Breakfast came in generous portions and each item on the plate had exquisite flavours. The long black was delicious and complex. I stopped by for lunch as well and the Mediterranean Vegetable salad was rich and filling. The Shiraz went with it perfectly.

Good taste. Good service. Nice people. My partner and I love their breakfast. We kind of try every thing in the breakfast menu. All good. We go there very often.

Nice vegetarian sandwich. Service a bit slow and tables were not clean on arrival. Register staff didn't seem too trained. Food was nice I would return but not to much flavour so not in a hurry.

Thanks for the invite Randomdindins
Me and my fiancé enjoyed our experience. The last time we went to a Spanish restaurant we were quite disappointed with the food.
This experience was a great turn around.

The Patatas Bravas - spiced potatoes really hit the spot! Never had it this good,my fiancé is trying to stop eating carbs but she could not help herself. May sound strange but this simple dish was the best food of the night. The texture is consistent throughout each piece of potato and the subtle spiciness went well with the sauce and the lemon wedge

The pork belly, the skin was crisp and the meat tender, the veges that came with it were bright in colour and the presentation looked good

The seafood paella was generous in its serving of seafood and it was full of flavour,my fiancé was really impressed. Worth trying

The FLAMED PORTUGUESE CHORIZO, if you want something different then you just try this dish! You will get a little show with this dish and see a flaming chorizo right in front of you, impressive!

The owner is friendly and chatty
Food came out at a reasonable rate
There is live music here
It's easy to walk past this place,I walk enmore road often and didn't know it was here. Now I know and won't forget!
THE BEST SPANISH TAPAS IN TOWN! Wow - what an amazing find! I'm in Newtown ALLLL the time and I never make it past the predictable places on King Street. On the way to check out some shows that were on at the Enmore Theatre I stumbled upon this cool place just a few doors down! We were attended to with the great service of Berta who looked after us well - very personable young lady and made our table feel right at home. We were lucky enough to meet the owner Rui who enjoys meeting the locals as he learns more about the great city of Newtown having spent the last 15 years at his premier outlet at The Rocks - he loves a good chat - so make sure to say hi.

The food is art. The POTATAS BRAVAS has a nice kick to it and turns the bland taste of potato into a fiery experience. THE FLAMED CHORIZO is a dramatic dish that literally explodes at the table. THE PORK BELLY is perfectly cooked with a nice crunchy crackling. THE SEAFOOD PAELLA uses a long grain rice which gives a firmer texture to the Italian-risotto-like gooeyness you normally see, topped with a full crab, muscles, king prawns, and calamari - the serving size is so huge we couldn't finish the darn thing!

Such a great place, as I've heard the one at the rocks also has live shows and entertainment, and as this place finds it Newtown groove (with its own local menu and vibe) - I can't wait to see this place take flight in the coming months!
#eat #foodie #sydneycomedyfestival #friendsoferko #newtown #erskineville #sydneydining

Great find on Enmore Road! The venue itself is very inviting, with live music playing & warm interiors. We started with the pork & clams which is a dish I've not tried before. The clams were absolutely delicious and were served in a tasty broth which we finished off with our bread. We were recommended to try their specialty, the seafood paella, so we went with that for our main & we're not disappointed. They were generous with the seafood which was perfectly cooked & the rice was full of flavour. Highly recommended!

Exceptional quality Portuguese food!

You can always tell when a restaurant uses fresh produce and Vintage Cafe does not disappoint! My family and I were so impressed by the quality of the food - the flavours were so authentic. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit!

The best newly opened cafe for dinner. Awesome food with live music. We had succulent fish, perfectly cooked and well presented roasted duck and marinated grilled octopus. Definitely, we will be there coming weekends.

Friendly service, I've had pancakes twice so far and have to say they taste amazing! Lots of fruit and syrup, chai latte was perfect! Defo going back for those pancakes!
