Food, was tasty the service was fast and prompt. Servings were adequate for groups, everyone was able to order something and share round. Favourite was one of the dips that was nice and spicy! Meat, was tender and soft ... full of flavour... ended the night with Turkish Coffee in beautiful cups with bite sized Turkish Delight! Do try if in the area

Visited the restaurant during ramadan. They were flat out but managed to get us a table Ordered a number of dishes. As shown in photo. Portion sizes are average and food is average. Nothing I would go for out of my way. Friendly and quick service.

Lovely authentic Turkish flavours and lovely customer service. Would look forward to visiting again to try out the lunch / dinner menu as I only got to experience the breakfast menu. P.S. The Turkish Tea was amazing.

Fantastic Turkish food at great prices. The sucuklu pide and islender lamb were outstanding, so bloody tasty with the right amount of spice. The kunefu was also a standout. Meals here are meant to be shared. The sauced vegetables and luhnacun pide are also good spice options. Family of four adults are really well including drinks and dessert for $115 which is pretty great! Staff are friendly and service is quick. Street parking available along Enmore Road.

Food was absolutely impeccable! Can’t fault it!! Highly recommend the beyti ($22) and iskender($24)!!! Pide ($19) was super fresh and the portion sizes are very generous! They accept dine and discover vouchers too which is a bonus.

As a Turk by far the best adana I have had, it’s very filling with a reasonable/affordable price. The service is great with really nice employees that always have a smile on their face. 10/10

Amazing food and amazing service! We were in a rush to get to a show at the Enmore Theatre and the staff were able to have our food out ASAP! It was a great dinner choice, the only downside was that I couldn't savour and enjoy every bite! Highly recommend!

I liked this place, actually really liked it. One of my favourite places to eat in the whole of Sydney. Until they lied to me and screwed me over with disgustingly bad service. Don't lie to your customers and tell them food is on the way twice and then say "I've never received the order". Don't hang up or accuse your customers of swearing in Turkish when questioning where food is instead of just answering properly. I've seen it change a bit last few months,, new management, new staff, whatever, you've destroyed your reputation.

The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. The food is sensational!!

Had seen this place for a while but never visited. Finally went with a group of friends and we were so impressed. We had the sultans banquet and we walked away full. Recommend this place for sure

Delicious food!

Chose the takeaway option and found the food to be quite good. Some of the dishes had cooled so I can only imagine if we had eaten in. They have dishes you don’t normally find in other Turkish restaurants so if you’re after a varied experience, this is your location

The meats were cooked well - generally it was good food but the kebabs seemed rather short. The adana kebab was 15cm long, the lamb one had 4 pieces and the chicken one 5 - some of the photos on here show those numbers, others show 6 pieces or a much longer adana. So the mixed kebab plate was tasty but it wasn't good value. The pide would have been good but it was very undercooked and doughy.

Unpretentious and inexpensive. The food here never disappoints and last night was no different. We ordered dips, pide, kofta and iskender and beyti kebab and enjoyed all dishes

Everything was fresh, well made and very tasty, being BYO is another plus

Been here two times and plan on coming more in future. Each visit we were pleasantly surprised by the generous portions. It's nothing fancy, but what they serve up to you is great quality and not oily or heavy like takeaway joints. We are absolute fans of the Turkish bread and the pide. Also be sure to try the Beyti and the Lamacun

I was expecting a nice cozy place with good food but I have faced a busy and dirty place with bad service. The plates we got had food stains on them. The bathroom was dirtier than the train station toilets and no soap! The food was average. don't recommend it.

Boy this place is busy! Look it wasn’t bad, but the chicken Shish plate was average at best for me. The chicken was dry and cold by the time it arrived. Other than that, it was reasonably priced.

(Granted it was a rainy and busy day with menulog bags flying out the door!)
Foodie In Chief
Ordered in, chicken wrap was basically salad and bread, lahmacyn was wet and did not taste good, dessert (sutlac) tasted strange, seems like they added flour to the rice pudding, don’t think I’d ever want to try this place again

Feeling a Turkish Feast?? A range of Mezes, dips, pide, shish kebabs, mains, desserts and beverages awaits you in this stunning little restaurant
Can’t decide? Then the Sultans Feast banquet has your name all over it. A mix of everything that will leave you stuffed and rolling out the door. Scroll through to see snaps of exactly what you are missing out on!

Value for money! The mix grill comes with the meat as promised, favourite was probably the kofte and least was probably the lamb chop. But, it came with bread, small serving of rice, two dips of your choice and salad of your choice. ALL FOR $22! I also decided to have the soup of the day, which on that day was lentil soup, a common soup in Turkey. Highly recommend to those who want to eat out in Newtown without paying out to much!

PS I tried uploading photos but something went wrong. The decor has a cafe/takeaway feel. Would of been better if the place served alcohol :(

Absolutely blown away by Taste of Turkey 😍 Stumbled across this gem out of all the many options in Newtown and went for it because of the incredible smell wafting out from the unassuming restaurant. We were met immediately with friendly servers, and quickly decided on a mezze dip platter, cheese and spinach pide, and hot chips. Our dishes were brought out by the chef himself, which was a great touch. Bread was fresh out of the oven and dips were ridiculously tasty. Cannot wait to visit again!

Taste of Turkey is a no-frills restaurant serving up cuisine from its namesake country. We stared with the mixed dips platter - I really liked the carrot and eggplant dips, they were a treat with the fresh Turkish bread. The vegetarian platter was a great way to sample a little of everything. Thumbs up for the zucchini fritters and the dolmades. The bulgur cigars were less popular as people found it too sour. Service was a bit pushy with the server trying to upsell our orders, but otherwise it was fine.

We really enjoyed the Beyti kebab, it had that smokey flavour characteristic of wood fired food. That was definitely the winner dish. The zucchini fritters were also great as a starter.

I didn't take the photo since we rapidly digged into the plate but here's one from their website.

Service was friendly. Quite an informal looking place. We ordered vine leaves (not on menu) but they did have them. They came served with yoghurt. They were packed with rice and really needed the yoghurt.
Then a Shepard salad. Very small portion. Which was onion, tomato and cucumber chopped in small pieces. Expected a lot more. It's pretty much the only salad on the menu. A let down.
Dips were tiny served in little bowls and not very amazingly tasty. Not memorable. The veggie dip lacked salt. The bread was fresh and delicious though.
Next we ordered a mix plate, lamb wrap and a kofta plate. Everything had a little kick of chilli to it. Must say the food was quite dry. Not enough moisture, not enough side sauce. Everything just blah. Lamb wrap needed more sauce! Or even a sauce for that reason. Nice selection of salad in the wrap but no sauce.
Dunno, didn't love it. Have been to others, in particular one up the road who are very generous in their portions and dips are huge and each very tasty. Glad I tried it though.

Had dinner here last night with a friend. We had mixed platter for mezze, and two main dishes. Staff friendly, attentive and professional. Main dishes were excellent. Tasted like a grandma just cooked it at the restaurant kitchen :) The -0.5 are for:
- please remind the customer that the bowl (fresh from oven) is hot.
- four of the five mezza small dishes tasted just like the supermarket hummus, baba ghanouj, yogurt sauce, etc.

This is a must try restaurant! :)

I born and raised in Istanbul and been to heaps of cities in Turkey so i know what does Taste Of Turkey means..
Have never expected same pleasant yummy taste from this restaurant before we walk in.
Staff was friendly and welcoming BUT Gabrielle Elliott we ordered sauced eggplant and it was super acidy fizzy, They apologized and swapped it with another cold meze.
From the mains we pick Kusbasili pide; which has to contain diced lamb BUT there wasn’t any visible meat inside rather than full of Tomato.
Overally the guy who served us was very friendly, he also removed sauced eggplant from the bill, but still if you are looking for real Taste of Turkish experience please think twice..
Regards..

I like all the pictures of Turkey in here,it makes it feel very bright on here.
Staff is friendly and food came out pretty quickly
Had the mixed meat shisha, the lamb was a bit chewy and when you look at it it was cooked rare
The chicken was standard stuff
The Adana had a little kick to it with a little chilli in there, the best of the 3 meats
The plate though had barely any tzatkiki on it,for the price I was expecting a little more
The beetroot dip was nice and they have plenty of bread for once
Food is good but a little on the pricey side for what you get

It was a chilly evening and ordered in using Menulog. It seemed like this restaurant had a good variety on offer so decided to give it a go. Delivery time was excellent as it arrived ahead of their estimated schedule time which is always great when you're starving.

Ordered Mix Shish Plate which had Adana, Lamb Shish, and Chicken Shish. These had great textures and flavours. I could taste the char on it and had a slightly spicy kick to it. The salad helped with soothing this spice. Came with bulgur and flat bread which were lovely accompaniments. The Spinach And Cheese Pide was nice and fluffy and had a tasty filling of the spinach, cheese, egg, and parsley. Finished with Kemal Pasha and best way to describe it would be like a Turkish Galub Jamun. Nicely soaked dough balls in syrup, these were topped with tahini.

Overall really nice and worth seeking out.

Taste of Turkey, located right next to Enmore theatre offers various options which are different than a usual Turkish Restaurant. Pides are made in the woodfired oven!!

Best service I've had in a long while .. food is also good and tasty - they make fresh bread on site and try to be more on the traditional Turkish food which is a good thing

Great food, friendly staff who are always smiling. Beyti and the apple tea is a must try. If youre looking for good food in a nice environment, you should visit here.

One of the best Turkish street restaurants in Sydney.
Beyti is highly recommended! Friendly owner who has grizzly hair and beard. Pide Usta is an awesome guy and his lahmacun is amazing.

Ordered through ubereats. Everything arrived hot and fresh. Delicious sucuk pide and mixed grill plate, which came with bulgur rather than pilaf, which was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommend and can't wait to eat in house.
