Great concept! A little on the pricey side, but considering the time spent (i can imagine) on preparing all the components definitely worth it.
Love the different ingredients used to replace meat and seafood!
Definitely recommend for someone wanting to try something different!
I love the simplicity of the dishes, the ingredients work very well together. Generous portions. The miso soup needs a bit of more body though. I'll definitely be back to try new dishes.
The best plant based sushi in Sydney without a doubt :) We got free miso soup for checking in on facebook which was pretty cool! Overall, I definitely recommend this place, especially if you're vegan/vegetarian and don't want to have cucumber sushi rolls, haha. Not sure if the dumplings are limited ed, but those were to die for!
This 100% vegan sushi restaurant offers a variety of unique and one-of-a-kind options. Prices are a little bit extensive for the serving size, however the flavours of the sushi are totally worth it. The business itself is family orientated and they are very friendly
Delicious and fresh, really creative ingredient combos - the Faux Lox has that umami taste that is hard to come across when eating plant based foods. The seating is funky, love the wooden bench...also really cool chopsticks! I love this place, but give 4/5 as it's bloody expensive for sushi. Having said that, I'll still eat here on the regular because you get what you pay for!
Great alternative to its more traditional sister. The concept works well but doesn't translate to the broader market. More variety such as offering cooked or use of more traditional ingredients could make this something big. Great place nevertheless
Super food sushi is a great experience, great staff; innovative concept. I've never really been interested in the whole vegan thing but this place is genuinely inspiring. Every meal is made of the best ingredients and sourced to ensure no harm to animals or poor worker conditions. Even the packaging is as environmentally friendly as possible. I highly recommend it for everyone.
Love this place because every time I come the sushi is always so well presented and delicious it does not disappoint. Menu is SOO refreshing considering the limited sushi varieties for vegans at most Japanese restaurants. Flavours are so interesting and you're always left so satiated but light despite downing at 20+ sushi pieces (high carb vegans, check this place out) Highly recommend the magic mushrooms and sweet kiwi nut. Also, the miso soup since it's so reminiscent of the original miso (in a good way) that it's a must try
This was a cute little place, very cosy and it had a good vibe to it. The service was good and it was nice that they had free miso soup refills. Th sushi overall was quite nice, and it was amazing how they combined so many flavours together. The only one which didnt impress me was the Faux Lox, maybe due to the texture - the flavours were also very strong and it lacked the starchiness which normal rice sushi has. Overall, a good experience, and it is great to find a vegan sushi place.
Love the concept behind this place and the pricing is good. Rated it 4 because a couple of the rolls were a little bit lacking in flavour. The 'salmon' ones were especially tasty though. I will definitely go back.
Tried out the sushi here after a run.... well more like walk with how hot it was! Shared two sushi rolls and two sushi pieces with a friend and was impressed with the magic mushroom and black jack sushi, and but wasn't overly impressed with the other rolls. Looking at the menu I would love to go again and try some of their other items. If I was reviewing their presentation I'd give them 5 stars, They presented their rolls on beautiful plates, and the cafe is decorated in an earthy, aesthetically pleasing way. The staff were attentive- maybe even too attentive, but it wasn't busy when we went there so they had no one else to attend to. I'm already planning my next visit for round 2, and I recommend this place to the vegetarian foodies out there who are keen to try sushi which is different from the traditional ones you find in most stalls. (The price was also really good for what we got; $30 for two people)
Supergood!!! So fresh, so fun, so had to try almost everything on the menu! Beautiful and interesting combinations that shows you what can be created with plant based food. Can't wait to go back.
We feel blessed to live in Sydney with its limitless number of dining-out options available to us. But Superfoods Sushi is a fresh and exciting new arrival. The creative use of plant-based ingredients, the combinations of flavours and textures make this a truly unique experience. While some sound rather interesting, like dehydrated watermelon, they work! They are absolutely delicious and very satisfying. It is a small cafe at the top of King Street quite close to Sydney uni. Highly recommended.
Healthy and vegan food for the win! This mother and son restaurant has a lot to offer. They are both really sweet and kind. Service is slightly slow as everything is made at the moment - which is something positive as you don't want your food to be sitting on warming trays all day. They also offer miso soup bowl refill for free - so awesome! Price is also fair! Will be back :)
Really a new and interesting concept! Definitely worth a try if you're all about trying different vegan food. Ordered the Magic mushroom, Sweet Kiwi Nut & Faux Lox rolls and all were great ! Loved them all, and can't pick a favourite. Not you're average sushi, the rolls were very different and had interesting flavours that worked well together.
Love, love, love the food here!!!! Healthy, satisfying, inventive and tasty. Very helpful staff. Will definitely be back again. The magic mushroom sushi is my favourite.
As a life long carnivore I went to Superfood sushi not expecting much.
I was wrong. It's fantastic. This luddite has just had his horizons expanded.
Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of being invited to my first ever Zomato Meetup at an exciting new place I had been meaning to try ever since it opened – Superfood Sushi. You may have heard about Superfood due to its renowned Kickstarter campaign, raising a significant amount of funds to start up the first superfood, vegan sushi joint to hit Sydney.
Very fresh and great value for money.
We had sweet kiwi nut was very well balanced and creamy. Faux Lox is a must try, very different. I love the Black Jack most of all and my wife loved the September special Pickled Pink. The miso soup was good also, not salty like others. Also the texture of the super salmon was superb.
The sushi is flavoursome and they have done well vegan.
A friend took me to superfoods sushi because shes very into the vegan/vegetarian foods. It was very different for me, we shared 4 rolls between the 2 of us and smashed it! I didnt think id enjoy the sweet kiwi nut roll (cause its weird to have kiwi) but it was one of the better ones. I recommend magic mushroom!! that was the best roll in my opinion. ONE let down was that the food took VERY long to come out, almost 30mins and we get really hungry, i even felt bad for the girl who ordered takeout was still waiting after our food finally came out. OVERALL it was unique, cheap and enjoyable!
Since visiting Superfoods Sushi I have been educated in how interesting and tasty vegan and raw food can be! Love the originality and experimentation of this place - always pushing the boundaries. Both my vegan and non vegan friends enjoy this place!
Really inventive and creative sushi! So nice to finally have a healthy (and vegan) place to eat sushi. Absolutely love the tofu pocket with seaweed - not like the fake bright green seaweed usually get a sushi places. And loved every rice roll I tried - especially the magic mushroom roll dipped in spicy sauce. Also tried a 'tuna' dish, which was incredible, and apparently made with jackfruit! The owner (Pepe) is so so lovely and super helpful. So many other things I want to try - I will be back, and highly highly recommend visiting...a few times!

+5
I'm not a vegan and this place was the tastiest sushi I have ever tried. An amazing selection to choose from. Not to mention the inventive combinations. A must to try!
tired of avocado and cucumber roll being the only veg options? this hole in the wall on the north end of king St serves up innovative vegan sushi rolls (all $10) like magic mushroom and sweet kiwi nut! miso soup ($2.50 with free refills) is a great accompaniment and end the meal with some vegan matcha cake. get in quick to support these guys!!
This is the healthiest sushi in Australia! Superfood Sushi launched their store via crowd funding platform Pozible with great success. They only use high quality, fresh and healthy ingredients and it is so tasty! For any foodie in Sydney then this is a must-try!
