Review Strewth Foods - Newtown

It's a small local cafe that you could miss whilst driving by but it's an absolute hidden gem. Please look for it because you won't regret it. They have scrumptious food, very friendly staff and an eclectic rustic ambiance. Being a family run business they make all the customers feel welcome and at home. This is my go-to Cafe for brunch and even coffee on the go. Definitely worth a visit or two or ten :)

Really nice place to visit with a friendly owner and excellent coffee backed by great food. The menu is cute and named by different well known places in London. Read the description and the food is (mostly) healthy and nutritious. Step outside and a quick walk down the side alley brings you to an awesome outdoor area where there's heaps of seating and bathrooms. This place is going to be great in the summer!! We look forward to coming back and trying more food.

Neat little cafe located by the main road. There are seatings outside the cafe, inside the cafe, as well as some outdoor seatings at the back of the cafe. Food items on the menu are named after the places in London. Campus coffee is being served here. We dined in but notice that they have cheaper options for takeaways too. Our breakky toast with butter, ham and tomato taste great!

Nice little Cafe in Belfield. I had myself the big breakfast. Good service. Good coffee. Heaps of breakfast items. The baked beans had a nice slight spice to them.

Been coming here since they opened their doors.. Lisa and the gang are incredible! Serving up quality coffee and food on the daily. Best local coffee.

Nice decor and coffee was good. But waited 25mins for a rosti stack to come (it wasn't busy at the time) and the rosti was wet and tasteless. Strong clashing flavours in the dish as well, tomato baked beans vs. balsamic vinegar drizzle. Partner had an average beef burger.

Over priced, burnt coffee, cold toast, overcooked poached eggs, why is the Tv on at a decibel that you cannot have a conversation. Disappointing as it looks really nice inside and staff and owner? Very nice….

An amazing brunch place in Sydney. We previously wanted to order the big breakfast and shakshuka type dishes, but when we saw the two kids eating the oreo pancakes at the table next to us, we knew we had to try it. It was worth it. Fluffiest pancakes ever. Wish there was more ice cream and maple syrup, but still fantastic. The bricklane breakfast was delicious as well. They managed to also find one more mango for a mango smoothie. Much appreciated. Good service and amazing food. Would come here again.

If you’re craving authentic Pakistani food that feels just like home-cooked / mom-cooked food, this place is a must go! Few things worth mentioning: - Fresh crunchy Pakoray that you can’t find anywhere else in Sydney. - The most authentic Chicken Karahi that was actually served in a Karahi, reminiscent of Butt Karahi in Lahore. - amazing Daal Maash that was quite different to what we have in Lahore and probably more of a Karachi recipe. Definitely worth trying! - Food aside, the ambiance and service is excellent! It is a family run business and all members of the family are very passionate about food and committed to the cause of authenticity! Highly recommend to everyone! We sure will be back in no time!

Found this place via Instagram, and had to give it a go on my trip back to Sydney from Canberra. Made a quick stop for their iftar special, and I must say, I was absolutely blown away! Think Karachi, think Burns Road, think Saddar, think do darya, think of the food your nani/dadi/amma/khala made, think of the food your nana/dada/abbu/chacha made and here you have it, waiting in the corner of Newtown - Kurrachee. I cannot state how pleased I was to see this spot and how amazed I was by the homely taste of the daal, and the quality karahi. My only complaint - I wish it had opened while I was still in Sydney! So, go on, try out this family-run restaurant, also don't forget to check out the awesome decor, which shows you Pakistan on one end and the progressiveness of Newtown, all jumbled up into one, trust me, you will love it!

10/10. The atmosphere was great and the food was terrific and good banter from the staff at the end of the night was very welcoming. The Aptly titled “Mega Death” hot sauce was breathtaking to say the least.

Best Pakistani food I've ever had at a restaurant! Thank you for a beautiful, nostalgic meal that surpassed my mother and reminded me of my naani's cooking!
