This is one of my favourite Indonesian restaurant. Service is top notch (thanks to Nana and Tiana for the great hospitality, really appreciate it during our visit) cocktails are delicious, amazing foods, plus the setting is quite romantic especially in the evening.
I definitely recommend their chicken satay and fried snapper. Oh don't miss out their awesome avocado smoothie as well.
My friends and I (group of 10) went to this restaurant on Saturday night and absolutely loved it! From the atmosphere when you walk in to the welcoming staff who were so accommodating. The food was just great and the cocktails were the best in Sydney
We would defiantly return to Monas in the near future!!
Guys & gals you really won't be disappointed!!!
Good services, fantastic food and nice environment to top it up. Very recommended, got a free cake as well for their soft opening.
The place is very cozy, the foods are very well presented and delicious. Definitely will come back again :)
Nice full meal. Friendly staff.
Service was fairly good... food was tasty, probably slightly higher prices than you would of expect of Indonesian from say kensington area. Also a lot of selections were not available from the menu. But of what we had we enjoyed.
Great authentic Indonesian food, well presented and with friendly service. Mie goreng and martabak telur both excellent.
The food was good but the service disappointing. They served the entree and the main together and despite having a bar, there was no one to serve cocktails!!!!!
Friendly staff and lovely relaxing music (and still easy to talk to each other). I highly recommend the crispy skin salmon, which was cooked perfectly and delicately seasoned, with a mild satay sauce, stir fried greens, and coconut rice. Will be back here with more friends for a great meal.

Legit Rendang Burger, try their Satay as well, ikan Bakar sided with their homemade sambal,,, Yumm
Mona's is a 10 or so minute walk from Newtown station. There is seating for about 60 people.
This was our first time with Indonesian foods..
The Martabak Telur was well received, something we will look at making at home.
The spring rolls are large, as in 3 - 4cm across and 15cm long, all cut in half. Quite nice, but very oily as vegetables don't tend to soak up the oil as much as meat.
The Rendang Beef was very nice. Tender and flavoursome.
The Crispy Chicken was the only letdown. It was nice, but more bone than meat, so not a lot for two to try. The accompanying sambal was *very* different to any other sambal I've had.
Worth the trip.
One thing we did notice, our Optus connections (phone & WiFi) were both fine outside, but dead in the restaurant.
Sooo tasty!!!!!!!!!!!
The service was great, very friendly staff
Crispy fired whole fish was excellent.
The tastes took me back to Bali, they even have Bintangs and they were cold!!
We will be back
5 stars
Thank you Monas
Just tried Mie goreng and this absolutely the winner, taste like Pad Thai with Indonesian touch, the Martabak telor is yummy too. Absolutely recommended, however I don’t really like their grilled fish. Definitely will comeback for the mie goreng
food was great. indonesia is the most amazing country i've visited so to be able to get good indonesia food in sydney felt really good. will definitely be back!
