omg I had the best chicken burger from you guys today, like it was heaven in my mouth, the bacon on it was so close to the real thing, that I freaked out for a second...can not wait to come back to Sydney and eat more burger - then gelato blue of course <3
Highly recommend great food, great service
As a dyed in the wool carnivore I had my doubts, but the food was amazing and the service exceptional! Next time I'm in Newtown I'll be back again for more!

I'm not vegan myself, but wanted to give this place a go. I got a Cheese Please ($12.5) which wasn't too bad, the cheese was a good consistency and I enjoyed the flavour. The patty however, was pretty dry and crispy. The fries ($6) were very cripsy, I enjoyed the seasoning.
They really stand by their vegan values, I ordered a mango and orange Schweppes but they said that they don't serve it anymore because it wasn't vegan.
I check out Soul Burger in Newtown for the first time as part of the Sydney Vegan Tour. Soul Burger is a plant based burger eatery. Check out my blogpost for full review including photos
The other day we were at Soul Dining and not long after I’m at Soul Burger in Newtown. There must be a theme going on. In any case, I am COMPLETELY on board for the new vegetarian burgers made up of stuff like Beyond Meat, that don’t taste like the old vegetarian lentil burgers of the past.
The quality of Soul Burger had been a little ordinary in the past, so I was a little reluctant to try them again after dropping off about 10months ago.
Checked out the store in Newtown, which had a great atmosphere and plenty of seating. The staff were so friendly, it was great!
I ordered the cheese please ‘beef’ burger and it sooo good. Packed full of delicious sauce and flavours.
I’m not sure of what is their plant based beef burgers are, but it had a bit of a lentil sort of taste - either way, it was spot on.
The new menu and additions have put Soul Burger back on the radar!
Ordered the cheese please ‘beef’ burger and considering this was my first vegan restaurant-fast food experience, I actually enjoyed it especially since the food production and process didnt harm animals.
Being a light meat eater I could tell that it lacked the ’meat’ flavour, so the burger lacked a little of that juiciness typically found in a meaty burger, but I just added a generous dashing of their complimentary hot sauce, also vegan, to the burger and all was tasty.
yum yum!! took my non-vegan friend here. it was her first time trying not-meat and she was absolutely blown away.
i ordered the bbq bacon and the soul b fries (fries w/aioli and bacon). both were quite delicious. the patty had definitely been improved from the last time i had the beef patty.
the only reason why i’ve rated this restaurant a 4 instead of a 5 is because of the seating arrangement. i wish the tables on the side weren’t so small, but i understand that it would be hard to arrange this as the space of the restaurant is very small.
otherwise, the service was good but not anything super special and the food was very tasty.
can’t wait for the new menu to come out 💗
I really enjoyed these burgers, I ordered the pulled pork burger which was made with jackfruit and full of flavour. It came with coleslaw and an aioli- would recommend! I also had food envy for the tofu burger, it had satay and avocado
The staff here are super patient, friendly and attentive. They took the time to explain the menu to us. All the burgers are made on the spot (not pre cooked like heaps of other places). Food was great and portions were huge.
Great spot for your vegan burger and fries fix. We had the southern fried chicken (such a good crunch!) and the BBQ beef. They had run out of bacon, so they kindly replaced it with avo and cheese. So dang delicious! Both the green and red fries are great too. Highly recommend the choc-banana shake - THICCC! Would smash again.
Tried the southern fried chicken burger at Melbourne's recent Big Vegan Market. It could have used some cheese or more sauce or something but it was otherwise super tasty with a great texture. The only options available at the market were this, the cheeseburger and the fish burger. But I'm super keen to try out the Syd shoppe for myself to make my own customised soul burger!
Finally! Soul Burger is closer to home. But, the service is still not up to the mark. I was unable to use my points and had to pay for my burger instead. Nevertheless, the CHEESE PLEASE has still been a cracker! Still one of the best vegan burgers I’ve had. Their milkshakes are really heavy, I’d suggest sharing rather than having one to yourself. They have amazing sides, the RED CHIPS should be ordered!!
Had a great feed here on Friday night! The staff were super friendly and efficient. The meals came out so fast & were delicious as always. Highly recommend the Soul B Fries!
I used some of my points from the app to get a Plant Based Disgrace patch (which thoroughly impressed my date, thanks 😉). The store was clean & had a large back area for seating which was cosy.
