I adore their food! The most delicious Italian cuisine I've ever tasted has been here! From the entrees to the dessert, it was perfection itself! I had requested them to make a few modifications as I'm a vegetarian and they happily obliged. Hope to visit again.

Mad E Pizza has always been a fave of mine, ever since I had their oozy garlic bread back in the day, I was well on board.
For this dinner feast we ordered the 4 cheese pizza. Yassss gimme all the cheese please! It was cheesy AF and on a gorgeous crispy base!
Then we had truffle fries! Sprinkled in Parmesan and then coated in truffle oil. It was subtle but still nice. I'd go harder on the truffle if you ask me.
Arancini to round out a dinner with basically my 3 fave food types! They were a little dry but the creamy tomato sauce they were served with was a nice touch.
Good service and a cosy little venue in Newtown which is quite nice for a date night or catch up with friends!
Had a group of friends over and needed food fast, pizza was the obvious option. Ordered through Uber Eats. We chose the Porkies ($24), Otropo ($23.50), Vegan Suprema ($26.50) and Amalfi ($24) pizzas. The pizza bread is a bit different, it seems almost deep fried. It was a tad oily. The toppings were good and decent flavour. I’d have to say the best was the Amalfi pizza with garlic prawns, was really tasty and wish we ordered two of these. The Porkies was also pretty good. We got the Romano base which was recommended for delivery, maybe the super thin would have been better. Total $98.
First Ubereats experience. Dinner with team. My friend works for ubereats, so we tried to coordinate him to be my delivery driver, but we failed. These pizzas were beautiful! Absolutely gourmet and heaps of variety on their menu.
I love the garlic bread here- it's so garlicy and buttery. We ordered the spaghetti bolognaise and margarita pizza to share. The pizza base was so thin and there wasn't excessive cheese on it, making the ratio of the sauce, dough and cheese just right. The spaghetti was also good, the mince meat had so much flavour and spice.
We walked in and the two waitstaff were chatting so we stood there for about five minutes waiting to be seated but in the end I got fed up with it and just walked straight out the back to sit down. The waitress came running after us with menus and cutlery in a huff. I got the funghi pizza which I enjoyed, although the base was quite oily. Go there during the day to get their lunch special, it's not worth $22.50. Pizza is better in Melbourne.
Friendly and quick service. Pizza was very good. Tasty toppings and crispy base. Good value lunch deal was enough pizza for one. Salad was just some rocket in a small bowl.
Some of the best pizza and pizza base, that I have ever had the privilege to experience in my entire life. Service was excellent and atmosphere there was plenty of it. I would come back here for sure next time I am in the area and of course will be telling others that Mad Pizza e Bar is worth the trip to Newtown to try it. Truly love it and thanks for a amazing lunch.
I like the quattro pizza here. Margherita is also impressive. Last Supper mosaic artwork in the dining room is pleasing too. Friendly service.
Really chilled atmosphere the little courtyard out the back is really nice and intimate. The 'funghi' pizza is the bomb!!! Really decently priced here too.
Good pizza, probably not the best in town but GOOD. I personally prefer the thin crust but my wife loved the Romano. Ingredients felt fresh and well balanced: good consistence tomato sauce and good buffalo mozzarella.
The atmosphere is great, friendly and quick staff. We were there on a Saturday 6pm, DJ kicked in with great house music, the whole family enjoyed food and drinks although the beer menu is rather limited.
Price is ok, maybe a little on the expensive side.
Cool chilled out place to sit and enjoy a pizza and a drink! The garlic bread is a must and the pizza looked really nice. I had the chicken coleslaw salad and I was quite happy with it, as it was light and fresh. I would definitely come back here!
Booked a Christmas party here for over 35 people. The food was great and the service was excellent. The management team were very friendly and easy to deal with when booking the function; and the Newtown restaurant team on the night were attentive and helpful. Highly recommend this place, both in terms of quality of food, and customer service.
So good. My fave in Newtown. The owner is fun and fresh too - was in such a good mood he gave us the pizza for free once! Haha love it, keep it up.
The lamb on the tuscano was lovely and juicy and the assorted toppings of vegetables were fresh and crisp. The provided lemon was a welcome relief to the fragrant spices of what I assume the lamb had been marinated in and the pizza base was perfect.
When the pizza arrives, the crust is kind of miraculously thin, as if some kind of pizza dough magic is going on in the kitchen. However they do it, the results are highly edible, crisp and thin, with tonnes of flavour. The salad is very good too. We might be into triple-yum territory here.
Lamb shank on a pizza? That was new to me and surprisingly the greek yoghurt, lamb shanks and the rocket went well together. There wasn't an overload of greek yoghurt so it wasn't overly sour or gooey. Both dishes could have done with more salt but otherwise they were good enough to satisfy my Italian cravings that night.
Ate here on a slightly busy Sunday night, received great service and was able to order vegan pizza! Great move getting vegan cheese on the menu! Pizza is super thin but the toppings are delicious :)
If your looking for Gluten pizza options in Sydney then you can't go past Mad Pizza. They are piazza's ahead of the rest. There are no soggy bases here, just crisp, tasty and not powdery like most. In a blind taste, the gf pizzas are pretty much indistinguishable from the normal base.
Added with great ambiance and quality wine list, they make a awesome meal choice whatever the occasion!
Had a great dinner tonight. Everything was delicious and good value. Such a lovely vibe. Great dinner all round.
Nice thin and crispy pizza bases. Like others have mentioned, service isn't very attentive, but it's not bad either. Ordering was a bit confusing because the menu says to order at the bar, but someone came to our table to take our order.
We got the Otto Bianco and Otropo pizzas- both were very enjoyable! The pizza bases are very thin, but the pizzas are surprisingly filling.
We sat at the front of the restaurant and it is pretty noisy from the music and from the traffic out on the street. So don't come here if you want a romantic and quiet dinner! Otherwise, we had a very good dinner.
Love it!. Such a cool little joint. The pizza is amazing - fresh, quality ingredients, well executed and interesting flavour combinations, great crispy base. Staff are really helpful and friendly, except at lunch hour when very clearly understaffed and rushed.
Its a good Pizza for Newtown. Went here with my girlfriend last week. Was pretty good pizza, even if it was served a little cold and a little bit too crispy.
Atmospheres great here, loud and vibrant.

Delicious fresh pizza!. Great thin pizza bases with fresh ingredients, very tasty and good value. mushroom pizza is surprisingly tasty. the prawn pasta is good too but could use a kick of chilli or salt.

Had lunch here today after a friend recommended it . Couldn't be more impressed . The food was great! We had a caramelised garlic bread which was delicious and quite different, a pepperoni pizza with side salad, which was lovely. Had just the right amount of ingredients, ( was a lot more generous with the olives than other restaurants). The pizza and salad both tasted fresh and you could tell they used good ingredients - for only $12 I was expecting something quite ordinary but was more than impressed . My partner had the carnevino pasta - better than great. The pasta came with a generous piece of crusty bread on the side( a good example of how this place adds little touches to make a difference and made me thought that who ever designed the menu really thought about what makes people happy when they are eating a meal) . Again the pasta was also so reasonably priced as part of a lunch time special, and again was not expecting the great food we got from the cheap price. What impressed me from the first moment was the service , our waiter was more than attentive to us and everyone else. It's rare to get a waiter that is proactive in looking to see what the customer needs are and what they want, usually you need to spend time seeking the waiter. Turns out our waiter was the owner, and his passion for food and what he does is obvious - I love being served by waiters like this, it turns just eating into an experience. My partner had a couple of imported beers and the waiter knew lots about it, and shared the story which made you feel like you were getting something special. Looking forward to going back with friends or even latter at night for a drink ( looked like there was a little courtyard out the back....who doesn't love a courtyard? ) . Noticed here he had made the effort to reply to some reviews and thought that was a perfect example of how interested he seems in making his customers happy. Thanks Lionel for making what was meant to be something to eat because we were hungry into a really nice experience.

I think MAD pizza should do cocktail classes and teach people to make the drinks at home because I have a craving right now for another Kinky Stallion but the place closes at 10.30pm.
The pizza is very amazing, best pizza in area and the atmosphere is beautiful, lights , candles, music.
I highly recommend this place.
I am having a party on Saturday but they do not deliver pizza, Unfortunately I cannot pick it up as I will be getting smashed on alcohol.
I am a very tough critic but mad pizza in Newtown is definitely a place I will revisit in the next couple of weeks. I was very happy, feel very light right now after the amazing cocktail and lovely authentic pizza!

I ordered a chicken avacado rocket salad. The serving size was extremely generous! There was about 3 cups of rocket, one large chicken breast and one large avacado in there! My friend ordered one of their regular pizzas(that looked large) and they were generously embellished with loads of toppings. The dough was cooked well and was not soggy at all!
I am definitely coming back!
Had a lovely dinner, wonderful ambience and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the tiramisu which is served with a side of coffee gelato which is to die for! However overall experience was soured as the background music was too loud, I was unable to talk to my companions despite our close proximity... our request for the staff to lower the volume was turned down.
Despite that little mishap the restaurant had a lovely service and atmosphere.
Busy, fun and relish. Still on our paintingthebridge.com quest and happily visiting this busy, fun and well-serviced eatery/beveragery. Delicious entrée of olives, fetta and chorizo pastipati with a half and half pizza - thin and crisp base makes it way better than average. Good value too. What's not to like?
Love it. I don't generally bother writing reviews but I know that you're more likely to if you had a negative experience so I thought as I love the pizza here so much I should make sure someone is saying how good it is.
Best pizza I have ever had, I've liked them since they first opened up in Darlinghurst but Newtown is where I'm from and their excellence has traveled well.

Came here with some work friends, never even heard of this place, but the ambiance was great, food fantastic & lunch time special was only $10 for pizza & drink. Can't go wrong. I had the positano with extra anchovies & boy did I love it. Highly recommend this place. Might make it my weekly hang out.
This place is only new, but has a great vibe. Great pizzas, good wine, with lots to recommend. Enthusiastic staff. Would definitely return.
