Consistently excellent Indian cuisine over many years. Palak paneer and chicken tikka masala are all-time favourites. Friendly staff. Fabulous service. Time between ordering take away and pick up tends to be quite fast even during busy times. A reliable local gem.
Delicious Indian goodness, I loved Mirchi, the tastes were powerful and diverse. I really enjoyed the naan, it was obviously prepared in a traditional furnace and it featured crispy edges with a fluffy body, superb!

It really is the best Indian food in Canberra. Odd location but excellent food. The service is outstanding but the food is beyond delicious.
I can only speak for the vegetarian side of the menu. Of that i would recommend - daal makhani, malai kofta (its not sweet like other places), nizami handi and mirch ka salaan. Personally i think they make the best daal makhani in the entire world, with just the right amount of tangyness.
And that's coming from someone who has had daal makhani everywhere from all over India, all over Australia, central Europe and some parts of south East Asia. My parents are die hard indian food fans. No matter where we go we have to have Indian cuisine.
Excellent food, excellent service, at a reasonable price. The food was very authentic (having been to India and eaten the same dishes there, I found they were very similar), however just one warning: do not order the food in 'medium spicyness' - I ordered medium spicy food and it was spicer than the food I had in India. Go for mild, and you should be ok. Very good otherwise!
Best indian in Canberra!. We went for dinner on a Sunday evening and chose the banquet for two, which lets you choose your own mains. The mixed entree plate was fantastic - I was worried I'd fill up on that and not have room for mains! Mains: goat and a vegetarian dish - both amazing! The service was quick and friendly. Fantastic food for a great price!

By far the BEST Indian I've ever had! Brilliant service and very yummy food. Have visited numerous times with family and friends, loved it each time and everyone you take there says the same. Definitely a must try!

Worth the trip. Hidden away in the Platypus centre this restaurant serves consistently good food. Staff are friendly and attentive. Butter chicken and Lamb saag are awesome. Also specials board offers some very different offerings
The food and service was exceptional. We were welcomed and served by two lovely ladies out front. Our food was delivered in a reliable and well timed manner.

I love this place. I have been coming here for years, and they’ve never failed me. When it was my son’s birthday, he had the best time of his life. He loved everything they gave him. They even gave him a birthday Gulab Jamun, which is where he started his obsession for Gulab Jamun 🤣My friends birthday was at this place, and let me tell you, it was amazing. If you ever come to Canberra, this is a MUST. Definitely coming here forever, and I’m sure my son will to 😄
I am by myself and ordered takeaway and I was impressed enough to be trying a few more of their dishes next time I order. The $35 minimum delivery restricted me a bit so I ordered rice, garlic naan, Palak Padpi Chaat (spinach fritter on a bed of spick potato salad with yoghurt and tamarind sauce) and a hot butter chicken.
They were generous serving sizes and I had enough for lunch the next day. The Palak was a nice surprise as I had never had anything like it before, the naan didn't travel as well but you cant blame the restaurant for that. The butter chicken was definitely given a big hit of chili which was as I requested so overall a good experience and pretty quick delivery.
I look forward to trying something else next time I am in the mood for Indian.
This is our favourite Indian restaurant in Canberra, the quality of the food is outstanding. We use butter chicken as the control. The goat is really good, tender and delicious. Medium spicy is the best!

Mirchi Restaurant is not only amazing food (the best Indian cuisine in Canberra) but the service is outstanding!
After getting our order home this evening & realizing the naan bread was missing, I called the restaurant to double check I had included it in the order. The lady I spoke to confirmed I had but it hadn’t been placed with our order & insisted the driver would deliver it to us in Harrison. I honestly don’t know of any other restaurant that would offer that.
