The minute you walk into Biagios the surrounds ooze class. The colours bentwood chairs and the warm wood floors all combine to make a surprising atmosphere at a suburban restaurant. We started with a couple of beers and the choices are quite good. There is provided water and some bread each with EVO and dash of Balsamic.
The food in the restaurant was broadly classic Italian fare but with plenty of variety and options. We began with an Antipasto Misto Di Pesce. There were oysters natural mussels in a tomato sauce plump prawns smoked salmon BBQ scallops and char grilled calamari on a bed of greens with a wedge of lemon. All the seafood was of a high order. Tremendous. For mains I had the chicken and spinach risotto which was creamy with large moist chunks of chicken and plenty of spinach. Our waiter kindly grated fresh Parmesan over the top of our mains. A fabulous touch. I needed to pop a little of the flaky sea salt provided just to lift my risotto a little but thoroughly enjoyed it. The service all night was efficient and busy with staff checking after each course whether we liked our food an important touch.
There was a good array of desserts and cheese options to finish and of course coffee on offer but we chose to finish with a drink next door. The adjoining bar is stylish and comfortable too and has specials on cocktails sparkling and more on Wednesday Thursday and Friday nights. The bar would easily stand alone as a destination in the area.
Overall an enjoyable night and well worth a visit if youre out near Niddrie.
Finally got to try out Biagio’s and I am very much satisfied. First shared spicy pizza and then calamari risotto. The crisp pizza base was the highlight of the night. Elements were well balanced and it hit the right spots. Risotto was creamy and fun from the squid ink. The calamari was tender and cooked to perfection. Overall, I am very impressed and to top it off the atmosphere was warm and polished.
THe favourite on Keilor road, they have been around for ages now and they serve amazing coffee and cakes. It's perfect for tea time of if you need that sugar rush. They have a lovely seating area outside as well which is perfect when the weather warms up.
We discovered this restaurant walking down Keilor Road. The restaurant presented well from the street. Upon entering we were greeted with a friendly smile from traditional Italian gentleman. He looked after us well throughout the being. The food was typical Italian. Presented well and tasted good. A nice place for an Italian meal and would recommend this place.
Went for dessert. Amazing range of cold cakes and warm desserts. A large slice of cake $11, but really worth it. To share between two with a pot of tea made the night!
Biagio's is a family run business of Sally and Tony. Service is second to none and Mario makes sure you are looked after the traditional Italian way.
Menu has recently been updated and the restaurant serves lunch, dinner and offcourse the wine bar next door makes your experience a true Aussie one!
Love to host clients and friends here and food just keeps getting better
The best Italian restaurant in the north west suburbs of Melbourne. They provide all aspects of hospitality from breakfast, lunch and dinner, to the cocktail and wine bar next door in which I regularly enjoy some post dinner drinks. Thank you for providing many great nights
This favourite of ours serves a reliable varied and tasty menu. Pasta, pizza, fish, steaks, beef cheeks, chicken something for everyone. Bit noisy on a Saturday night as it was full. Give it a go... it’s not amazing with flowers on the plates, but reliable good food. Bar next door is great with happy hours and music.
Nice lunch visit. Decor is very clean and on trend. Staff were attentive, glasses filled with water upon arrival. Nothing to complain lain about with the service or friendliness of staff.
Food came out pretty promptly, looking nice and presented well.
Steak sandwich was cooked spot on. I wasn’t a fan of the bread but that’s personal preference. Gnocchi was slightly over cooked, but the boar meat was cooked superbly, however, the sauce flavour were a bit too subtle for me.
All in all, would happily go back a try other menu items.
Best pasta and meatballs in Melbourne for sure !! Great value for money also the staff were very professional and got the food out very quickly !!
I went there for my morning coffee and it was beautiful. The staff were lovley and seemed to genuinely care about the quality of my experience. I will definitely be back soon!!
Amazing food
Brilliant customer service
We loved the Italian man that had a great personality
Food was delicious and so worth the money
We will be back we loved it so much
Great food and service. The wine bar section is also great for spending quality time with a loved one or a group of friend for Pre dinner drinks.
Great venue with cozy bar section. The Mule wine is amazing, I have been converted and this is the place for a good Mule wine. Staff friendly and helpful.
I've been here on numerous occasions. Came here last night with some friends after dinner we ordered the Toblerone Cheesecake with coffees.
I have to admit, the cheesecake was simply divine, had such a great taste and the added strawberry sauce plus the cream was a great accompaniment to the plate.
Coffee like always didn't disappoint. Delicious flavour and consistency.
Note: To people who want to try this place, you must get the thick chunky fries. They're just fantastic and the added aioli sauce is just a match made in heaven.
A consistently positive restaurant, have eaten here time and time again and won't ever stop. Staff are incredibly helpful, kind and professional.
I recommend everything on their menu, especially the gnocchi and risotto.
Had some pizza on the weekend.
This place deserves a higher score!
5 from me.
We had a fantastic night here. The vibe has changed - a touch more classy, but still a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.
The food was spot on. Service was an absolute standout. Our waiter was attentive, preempted our needs and was always ready to help without being in our face!
This was a 'once-in-a-while' restaurant that we now plan to make a regular!
If you're looking for something a bit fancy in Niddrie, head to Biagio's for dinner. The dark fit out with warm lighting, and polite and well dressed staff gives the restaurant a fine dining atmosphere. To match, the price of the dishes are on the higher end of the scale. The food was tasty and the service was generally great except for when the waiter forgetting our entrée order. Overall, Biagio's provided a pleasurable and relaxed dining experience.
Always a pleasant experience everytime. Dishes are articulate & beautifully cooked. Coffee excellent. Staff are attentative. Kudos to Emanuele, chef baristers, waiters & management team for the great experience.
Ordered lunch here, had an avocado and mushroom smash with balsamic sauce. The presentation was immaculate and food was quickly served. There may have been a few too many mushrooms, but otherwise it tasted sensational.
The atmosphere was that of a fine dining experience with attentive staff and waiters, who were very polite. I also noticed they have a wine bar next door, which resembled a Manhattan-esque style dim lit bar, with beautiful Louis wing back chairs and mahogany side tables. I can imagine on a date night this would be an ideal place to go as it's very ambient, stylish and overall comfortable.
The music was the only thing that seemed a bit out of place. During lunch the restaurant was playing a soundtrack of epic classical music, then in the wine bar it was a selection of blues, jazz and some funk. I still enjoyed this greatly, but it was just such a large contrast when moving in between the two rooms.
Staff were very attentive to our needs drinks were out without delay . I had the prosciutto and pear which was beautiful . Would definitely recommend this place .
I was happy I walked into this place not knowing what to expect. Ended up with an Italian waiter who was a delight and very interactive with customers and probably the best lamb ragou with gnocchi I've ever had
I have been getting coffee from this establishment for the past few years and have always found them to be extremely consistent. Today I had my first meal here since becoming a vegan. Not really anything on the menu that was suitable foe my needs but as always the team were super helpful and catered to my needs without making me feel awkward. The days manager and waiter were exceptional. Great christmas eve breakfast! Bravo
Finally, somewhere with class, value and appeal, without having to travel into the city. Great value, great service, great food and awesome ambience, especially the new cocktail bar that has recently opened. Well done guys, thank you for bringing class to the north western suburbs.
Service was good, food was delicious! Lots of choice on the menu. The atmosphere was lovely and the place has a nice feel. I'll be back again :)
Love this place the food and service is fantastic, fresh food and always friendly service. Definitely love dinning here, reasonable prices and lovely presentation!
The wine bar is fantastic so cosy great atmosphere and super friendly service!
Service here can be a bit hit and miss. Some nights I've had exceptional service whilst other times I feel like the waiters are annoyed that there are customers. Either way, food has always been excellent. A little pricey for the north but still good. Had the milk chocolate pannacota a few weeks ago.. Highly recommend trying.. Delicious!
Me and my mate Been there few times, nice meal.. Friendly staffs. Plenty of space and nice outdoor seats. Nothing like wow but enough enjoyable.
I had a wonderful night celebrating my 40th birthday in the wine bar, spilling pit to the courtyard. The food was sensational and the service faultless. Sally and Tony have made this place a true gem. We'll definitely be back and can't recommend this place enough to others.
After reading some of the previous reviews we decided to give it a try.
Food was amazing and well priced, excellent wine and drinks selection, staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had.
The wine bar they have next door has a great atmosphere, very relaxed and comfortable.
Will be back in the near future to further indulge.
A great local gem. Staff ve.... A great local gem.
Staff very friendly and at tentative, food delicious and value for money.
Also recently opened a wine bar next door with great cocktails and amazing wine selection.
Will definitely be back.
Excellent local gem. I have dined at Biagios a number of times and I must say I am never disappointed. I really don't understand why the last few reviews are so negative. The food is excellent and the service is great. The Gnocchi Ragu is fantastic. I will certainly continue to take my family and friends to Biagios.
Had breakfast here this morning, very good experience for us, nice food good service (especially the young Asian guy) staff r very attentitive and polite. My 8yo son normally will have plenty food left on plate but not here, he polished off everything. Perfect start on a Sunday.
Food portions were great and tasted great. Waitresses were very friendly too
Magnificent! I've been dining regularly for over 3 years now - breakfast, lunch, dinner - no issue or complaint to be had. Exquisite food, high level service, well priced and always a great atmosphere. Just keeps getting better. Thanks Biagios - a great place to dine without the expensive price tag!
They don't cater for coeliacs, no gluten free bread available with breakfasts and not entirely kid friendly. They don't have high chairs as it's a 'liability'. Despite this food was good and service lovely. Probably won't be back though unless we leave the kids at home and BYO our own bread :(
Went there for a quick breakfast and ordered a ham, cheese and tomato toasted sandwich, which was great and hot. It came with a lovely bit of salad on the plate. Asked for a VERY hot chocolate and received it, which is a rarity these days, almost always arrives lukewarm elsewhere. Total cost, $12.20, very reasonable. Nice ambience, will be back, soon!
Amazing, great service, brilliant food, good atmosphere and value for money. We were at Biagios's on a Friday night it was busy but that didn't seem to matter! It was great.
Fantastic service!! I enjoyed my breakfast and the coffee was beautiful.! Will come back again
My favorite restaurant in Keilor Road. This is a big call because Keilor Road is full of great restaurants, but the food and the staff here are awesome. Have visited many times and will be back.
