Review Sails Beach Restaurant - Noosa

Perfect food and location! We really loved this place. All food is excellent, but the zucchini flowers were definitely the highlight! The other favourite were the tostaditos. Make sure you have a reservation before going here!

I was searching Google for #Gluten Free Restaurants in Noosa, and Noosa Sails came up as an option. We went to have a look at a few places, however either the menu wasn't interesting or they were full. We decided to search for Noosa Sails as a last ditch attempt for a late lunch and finally found it tucked away at the far end of the beach walkway. We immediately got a seat without a wait and were reassured that all the food would be #Gluten Free. The hostess and server were polite and knowledgeable about the menu and dietary restrictions. The server even informed us about all the specials which then made us change our menu choices. The food though pricey, was fantastic. We ordered a coral trout served with pumpkin Butter, Slow roasted Fennel, Lemon and Herbs. The Fennel was such an amazing accompaniment to the fish. I'm going to be looking out for that combo again!Since the fish doesn't come with any starch, it would not have been filling, so we ordered some steamed Vegies. At $60, they could have thrown in a bed of vegies or potato, rice etc... I ordered the Slow roasted sovereign lamb shoulder served with sauce Soubise, Dutch cream potatoes and sugar snaps. When I saw the size of the lamb, my first reaction was damn, that's small for $46 however it was more than sufficient for a person with moderate appetite. The food was memorable to say the least, the view and ambience were lovey as were the staff. I would definitely recommend the place especially for Date night or date lunch, anniversary meal etc 😋

Has to be one of the best restaurants in Noosa. During our 10 day stay we tried many restaurants. Birthday lunch with my daughter today. Ambience, views, food and drink selection was great. A big shout out to our waiter Dion who made a great experience into a amazing experience.

A beautifully timed sunset 🌅 dinner. We had a fabulous table, enhanced with a great wine, cote du Rhône 🍷 recommendation by Sommelier Dale and absolutely gorgeous food. We had the prawn 🍤 pasta 🍝, eye fillet with greens and fries (chef kindly accommodated our dietary requirements) and today special of pork belly, which was so tender and delicious potato mash. For dessert we shared the French inspired apple 🍏 tart and golden syrup rhubarb pudding, which was so yummy 😋 and a great way to finish our meal. We can highly recommend this culinary dining experience, Bon Appetite 🥂

What an enjoyable lunch on a beautiful day. We wanted something light and local and we’re certainly not disappointed by Sails. Enjoying great drinks with fresh oysters, sashimi, Morton bay bugs and barramundi with a beautiful view of Noosa Heads Beach. Couldn’t imagine a better place to enjoy a delicious meal on sunny afternoon in Noosa.

Unfortunately, our experience was a let down. The maitre de showed us to a table inside despite requesting an outside table, tell us tables were allocated on a booking basis. There were at least 3 tables vacant outside during our visit. After being seated the Maitre De forgot our water and we waited sometime for another waiter to ask us if we had been served. We gave our order to the second waiter. We ordered our meal including starters, entree and mains plus our drinks. Our food was beautifully cooked, when it arrived but not how it requested ( ie lamb was medium rare not medium as requested). The entree was not served at all. Our drinks went to another table. Deciding we'd had enough of the poor service, my wife ordered a final drink rather than desert and it remained on the bar despite 4 servers walking past it a number of times. The Maitre De meanwhile spent his time talking to his preferd customers in front of my wife's drink. As people who were considering dropping a large amount of $$$$ for the evening, we paid our bill and went elsewhere to spend our well earned money. Thank you Bistro C on Hastings for helping us out.

We had the most outstanding meal at Sails with fabulous company, seated to the front so we were able to enjoy dusk with the most superb cocktails, food and wines. Our waitress Eloise was exceptional and all round the experience was 5 star+

If you are looking for a wonderful foodie experience this place is for you. Even though the decor, view and food is very fancy it has a comfortable atmosphere and a casual vibe. The view from the restaurant is breathtaking, sitting almost on the sand at main beach Noosa. This makes it a memorable special occasion or just a meal with family or friends. The Menu is seasonal and the meal light and fresh with lots to choose from. Our waiter Zac was very attentive and helped us work through the menu to make it easier for us to choose. He let us know about all the specials and made sure we never went thirsty. Our table of 6 were there for lunch and opted for a few share entrees and desserts with our own choices of mains. The meals were all delicious and presentation was outstanding. It isn’t cheap but well worth a visit.

The location is great the wine list was about a 7 out of 10, our waitress was great very helpful and polite. The entrees were very good my partners Main was a bit disappointing, my Pork main course was very tasty. We normally do not have desert but we decided to have the pavlova off the main menu and it was delicious. Overall we had a great afternoon at Sails

This place gets better and better each year. The service is amazing and the food is even better. Cannot recommend highly enough.

My wife and I have eaten at Sails multiple times over the last five years, with each and every meal being nothing short of amazing! The staff, the menu and the setting are all outstanding. The pricing reflects just how good they really are. Faultless meals and exceptional service! Our go-to in Noosa, hands down!!

It was yesterday my second time dining and wow wow wow. The selection of wine with each course was superb. Waiters excellent. Ambiance unreal! Well deserving of 5* for our food-Thank you

I just had 2 of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. Crab lasagna (oh my god), and the barramundi.... And of course the view. Five stars!!!

Sails is my Noosa all time favourite and it never ever disappoints. We went with the specials of the day which were delicious but our staple is always the Tuna and Avocado Tostaditos. Great friendly service, divine food and the best Noosa venue. Thanks again guys!

I have been to Sails a couple of times before, and thought it would be the perfect place to go for lunch to celebrate my wife's birthday. The service was fantastic, the food was even better. The outlook amazing! We will be back again for lunch or dinner. Thank you Sails Restaurant Noosa.

A uniquely beautiful restaurant. The menu is very diverse and the staff incredibly hospitable. Thank you Tim for making our Easter lunch memorable. The wine list is enviable. would return again, and again and again. I would give them more stars if possible. x

Some of the best food I have eaten in a long time. Went with 6 other adults and each had 4 courses.... Not one average meal!

Amazing restaurant located on Noosa main beach. Vegetarian and gluten free options available. Reservations welcomed. <br/>🍽 potato bread with butter - waiter said the bread would be denser that a typical loaf, however, I found it light and fluffy. All bread is cooked to order and therefore it’s warm, toasty and very fresh! <br/>Pork and scallop (entree) - caramelised pork, poached scallops, pineapple and peanuts. What a delicious entree. Big bold flavours but a highlight of the entire meal. <br/>Trout ceviche (entree) - trout, pink peppercorns, lime and pepitas. Much more subtle flavours but the trout was really highlighted. <br/>Prawns (main) - juicy big prawns, tempura eggplant, snake beans and chilli caramel. The prawns were huge and cooked perfectly. <br/>Moreton Bay Bug (main) - bugs with fennel, mint and zuchinni. Bugs were delightful and I loved the shellfish butter. <br/>Seafood linguini (main) - squid, fish, mussels, prawns and scallops cooked with chilli, tomato and garlic. Large portion and very filling. <br/>Panna cotta (dessert) - coconut panna cotta with tapioca pearls, mango and pandan jelly. Interesting flavours. I’m generally not a fan of asian inspired desserts but it was still nice. <br/>Chocolate pavlova (dessert) - chocolate and hazelnut pavlova with an espresso cream and praline. Best dessert. Nice twist on a pavlova. <br/>Chocolate pudding (dessert) - oozing chocolate pudding with vanilla bean ice cream. Decadent and delicious. <br/>🍸 lychee martini, gin and grapefruit crush

We dined at Sails Noosa tonight. <br/><br/>Overall feeling: satisfied. <br/><br/>Rating: 6.5/10. <br/><br/>Mrs Gregfood felt that the layout was underwhelming, however this caused tension with Mr Gregfood, who found the atmosphere resplendent / G-ary-rouse (couldn’t agree on an adjective). <br/><br/>The ciabatta with trout butter was out of control, however the under-cooked potato gratin was a disappointment. Having said that, the oysters, prawns and service made for a very special night (must be all the Canadian employees 🇨🇦). <br/><br/>Overall, Mr and Mrs Gregfood stumbled out feeling happy yet conflicted; a similar experience to having too much to drink on a Monday night. <br/><br/>Greg out 🖕🖕

The place is lovely with a fantastic view, the food was delicious, we had a steak and Duck were fantastic. The service was awesome also.

My husband and I were robbed of what could have been a fabulous last night in Noosa owing to the awful food served up at Sails. Frozen fish, old seafood, enormous potatoes half cooked pretending to be chips and lame service by supercilious, arrogant staff. Worst of all, it cost us $176 for two entree two main two drinks. $80 per head for absolute rubbish. The same price we paid for a stunning lunch at Locale, the Italian restaurant down the road the previous day. Sails is dressed up to appear like a fine dining restaurant when in actual fact it is clear that the kitchen have no idea what they are doing and the management are clearly not into food or dining - just daylight robbery. As people interested in food we actually feel ashamed and embarrassed that we went to this place. People need to know not to go to this place.<br/><br/>Sails will sail on past any taste buds you have but you will be stung with an exorbitant price.

This was just one of the many dining experiences we have had here and it won’t be the last!! I come here every year cos the food is amazing 🥰 pictured is the Moreton Bay Bug, Tuna Sushi Special & the amazing Chocolate Fondant, a must if you can fit it 😂 THE BEST RESTAURANT EVER!!
Eat Play Live Melbourne
We have nothing negative to say about this restaurant  so we're giving it one of our very rare 5 star ratings.<br/>We came for a looong grazing lunch and all the dishes were fabulous, the cocktails were delicious and imaginative, plus they nailed the classics, the staff were all lovely, helpful yet not intrusive.  The dishes didn't take too long to come out once we'd ordered, the view was spectacular and the prices were what you'd expect for fine dining on an absolute beach front locations.<br/>We had the Pacific oysters, crab lasagne, prawn gnocci, baramundi fillet, tempura tuna roll and two desserts - everything was wonderful.<br/>If it's in your budget we definitely recommend coming here.

Did not expect to go to Noosa & find amazing eats! Sails was contemporary and our waitress was brilliantly engaging, she helped us out with orders and even stopped us from over-ordering. We left satisfied and content with our decisions. <br/>Winner: The Chocolate Lava Cake 🕺🏽
Eduan Naude
Great service and possibly the best bbq prawns my wife and I have ever tasted. The haloumi starter was good, as was my barramundi. Chocolate dessert was quite rich and slightly bitter but well offset by home made honeycomb.
Canturigirl
Unbeatable location. Perfect seafood menu. Australian and local produce. Exceptional service. A must do restaurant in Noosa. The prawns are meaty, the barra is plump and the steak melts in your mouth!

What’s not to love about Sails? The view is amazing, service fantastic and food is consistently top notch. Solid wine list without being world-beating. The menu changes seasonally but there are always some timeless classics on there, particularly the scallop entree and Moreton Bay Bug main. Deserts are great, and they are wonderful with kids, making them feel welcome and the parents relaxed, while not ruining the experience for other patrons after a fine dining experience. Sails is always on our list when we visit Noosa (which is regularly), and we’ll definitely be back soon.

Had a booooooozzyyy lunch with the not so better half at Sailz Restaurant this just passed Sunday. Was greeted by a beautiful confident brunette lady who made us wait outside by the toilets for our table to be prepared, once our table was ready we went and sat down...we then got to ordering our first round of drinks, my man enjoyed a soco on the rocks and well...i ordered another sidecar! Before i knew it our entrees arrived. Salmon for the lady and Scallops for the man of the house - it was great! Mmmmm. As i was finishing my last bite of the salmon our mains arrived! Talk about great service! Husband said he didnt have enough time to digest but i was all for the quick and speedy delivery times..(ignore my husband he loves playing the martyr card) mains were amazing, i had the bugs..my man had the steak. Finished our mains and then we decided to get a little more boooooozyyyy. The man scoffed down the summertime cocktail...i think it could do with a hint if jim beam ... call me anything but a liar! The handsome waiter delivered the cocktail with a song...wow... amazing voice and face! The surrounding tables egged him on! All and all an amazing experience filled with attractive waiters for both my husband and myself to enjoy!

There’s no place like home - there’s no place like home . . . so not having been back in Noosa for several years . . . and having had a couple of nice breakfasts over the last 4 days . . . a pretty woeful Caesar salad lunch and average pasta dinner both in Hastings St . . . I was yearning for a complete and utter dining experience . . . . well look no further than Sails - I ordered the eye fillet and matched with the French stunning house wine, the food and ambience was impeccable - then to top off the evening with one of the most delicate apple tarts I have ever eaten . . . wow . . . huge congrats to the sails team and special thanks to sommelier Scott and super friendly manager Sam - both a huge part of such a professional team !

Such a beautiful restaurant right on the beach and looking out to the water 🏖 with an awesome menu full of fresh local food and it was absolutely delicious! Thanks for having me again. And I can’t wait to go back... yum!!

Love coming here every time! Such a great view and good service. Had lunch here and ordered the crab lasagne and my mum ordered the prawn sandwich, we both enjoyed our meals. Love the cocktail here also especially the strawberry daiquiris :)
Anna001
Delicious food- I had the ancient grains dish and it was super yum with subtle but complex flavours. Service was very friendly. Companion found the pork dish yummy but a bit intense.

Always a pleasure coming here every year so i thought i’d finally add a review after our new year’s ever experience. <br/>The food was delicious, cooked perfectly and brought out quite quickly. The excellent waiter (Unfortunately don’t remember his name) for our table was very kind, funny and attentive.<br/>The atmosphere of live music, laughter and waves from the beach tied everything together.<br/>Sails is definitely a go-to restaurant while staying at noosa.
Nadine
Absolutely beautiful location! The menu was great and enjoyable to order from. Unfortunately i have scored a 3 based on several factors. Our waitress was attentive but she went on a break halfway through and we appeared to be then forgotten by the remaining staff. A dish was forgotten, granted they didn't charge us for this which was nice but not ideal. Our rocket, pear, walnut and pecorino salad was missing the pear, we realised at the time we were forgotten so by the time we could flag a waiter we had finished our meals. The creme Brulee was a very grainy texture. We still enjoyed most of the food despite some of these setbacks but when you are paying $200 plus for 2 people we did expect a little better.

We attended a wedding at sails and we were so very pleased with the evening. From the finger food to the roaming desserts, this place was a winner. Usually wedding food has the potential to be over cooked but this was not. I had a tempura duck for entree and Morton bay bug for main. Delicious. Attentive staff throughout the evening too!

Came to this restaurant following a friend's recommendation. It didn't disappoint but it wasn't awesome either. The prawn and pork entree would've been nicer if it was served warm and I felt the chutney overpowered the dish. Service was good - very friendly and efficient.<br/>

Gorgeous food and location. Friendly professional staff who make a big effort to make the whole evening special. Overall a gorgeous experience.
The Dear Luncher
Superb dining experience right on the beach. The Dear Luncher's most recent holiday was spent in Noosa and a Dear Babysitter was hired to ensure a relaxing experience. The wife selected some delectable seafood options, sadly Your Luncher cannot remember what they were called but check the pics. Your Luncher consumed red meat again (surprise surprise), this time an eye fillet steak. Great wine, great service. A must lunch venue in Noosa. Oh and the cheese board to finish, do it.

Mixed feelings about this place. While the location is nice on the water the trek to the toilets 3 stairs away outside does not fit in with the restaurants price tag. <br/><br/>The food we had was good but not great, especially for the fairly exorbitant prices. A roll of bread is charged at $9 and the size of the meals is a touch on the smaller side. I had the coral trout which was "ok". I had much better barramundi at a couple of other restaurants on Hastings St. <br/><br/>If you're there on public holiday you will be slugged with an additional 18% surcharge, higher than the usual 15% charged by all the other restaurants which brings the bill to astronomical levels. Not that many of the patrons would care as the place was full of those wanting to be seen and too much money to care. <br/><br/>Service was good, attentive and polite. <br/><br/>Overall I wouldn't go back. The value for money is not there and I've had better food at other places in Noosa without the prices. <br/><br/>

Love it here and would definitely go back.  Service was great, they know the menu well and are very attentive.  Food was amazing!

Well Sails was very nice. Food and staff were exceptionally great. Just one little thing is that the appetiser I had which was the duck arancini balls were a bigger meal than the Morton bay bugs meal not a big deal there. Overall the service of the mature staff was faultless. Places like this always draws you back. Thank you Sails.
Mistermister
Just came for coffee in the morning. Only 1 staff. She was definitely overworked. Long lines to get the coffee but she was quite good at churning them out. Selection of pastries and fruit available.
Aoife
Just so so. I had the mudcrab with gnocchi, no flavour off the mudcrab, all I could taste was the tomato sauce on the gnocchi. My friend ordered the beef rib which didn't come with the sauce it was supposed to, she noticed this when a man at the table next to us ordered the same thing and it looked very different.
VAprincess
Was looking forward to trying their new Autumn menu, it definitely did not disappoint! We shared the dumplings, duck arancini balls and soft shell crab for starters. The dumplings were perfect, as was the soft shell crab which came with a green mango salad complimenting it perfectly. I didn't have any of the arancini balls but was told they were delicious.<br/>I had the Moreton bay bugs (which they specially catered to my non-meat eating needs by omitting the pancetta). The bugs were sweet and moist, just amazing. My fellow diners had the Gnocchi with mud crab and there was a special of Barramundi. Both meals also excellent. And you can't go past getting a side of the cauliflower gratin with Kenilworth cheese. Yummo.<br/>Mums desert was brought out with sparklers and sung happy birthday to. A nice touch. <br/>Special mention to Tim, he was very knowledgable, extremely friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble for him. <br/>Thanks guys, we had a great evening and will see you again soon!

Revised review added half a point.<br/><br/>Now the best restaurant in Noosa <br/><br/>Gorgeous setting on the beach especially if you score a window table.<br/><br/>Chicken bao was outstanding. But everything was great, arancini, fish, chocolate pudding, pavlova. <br/><br/>Service much friendlier than last visit.<br/><br/>Terrific fine dining experience.

On our last night here at Noosa I decided to take my partner to one of the Sunshine Coast's most reputable restaurants. The atmosphere was quite relaxed as most places are in this neck of the woods, the vibe was chill and the staff were really friendly and knew exactly what they were talking about. A male staff member named Tim looked after us for the night and made sure we had a wonderful evening. <br/>Sails has a wine list that replicates something like the bible, there is plenty to choose from. We settled on a 2013 Barossa Valley Shiraz recommended to us by our waiter. <br/>Food was absolutely superb, for the entrée I had the scallops which were fresh and were cooked perfectly (after I was halfway through eating the entrée I realised I never took a photo of the dish for Zomato, as soon as it arrived on the table I ate it as it just looked and tasted so good). For my main I had the stuffed zucchini flowers which were unreal. <br/>Everything about Sails is perfect, if I had to fault one thing, it'd be the location of the toilets, and the maze you have to work your way through to get there and back.<br/>Regardless of this the staff are very professional, the food is fresh and local and the view is absolutely beautiful.
Nigellerella
Entree and appetizers were great, but that is where it ended. 'Emperor's new clothes' says it all. The fish and chips were the worst I have ever been served up. A quarter of an iceberg lettuce plonked on the plate with a slop of mayo on top. The batter was thick, over cooked in old fat and quite frankly, disgusting. Chips were over cooked and salty. Go for the view, but main course food is below ordinary in standard.
Austin's
<br/>To get the party started we were given the large table closest to the waterfront, so we were very lucky. The service was attentive and professional. Adhering to the ladies served first then the males was refreshing to see and ensued that great service would continue through the night. <br/><br/>On the food side all dishes around the table were given high praise. Everything from perfectly cooked medium rare eye fillet to melt in your mouth trout. The crab cake entree was a belter too, with a great textural crunch outer and well seasoned crab with the additional of a finely shredded lettuce 'vinegarised' dressing.<br/><br/>The service was impeccable right the way through the evening with explanations provided when ordering and a general friendly atmosphere.<br/><br/>Just a couple of negatives that may assist you in making a booking. <br/>Firstly, we called 5-6 times at varying times to make a booking with no answer and no call back. Additionally, they did not respond to any emails sent.<br/>Secondly, Sails continues this weird fashion of not allowing BYO wine because they are 'high end'. Strangely though in the states we visited Michelin star restaurants that allowed us to bring in a cheeky bottle of Camus, Aplha etc. I understand the Australian counterparts enjoy ripping us a new one, but jeez it hurts when you have to pay 120% markup on the same bottle I had to leave in the car. Furthermore, the first four wines I wanted to purchase were not on the menu, so the 600 wine list will cater to a small portion of the usual suspects. <br/>Lastly, watch out for the $9 per roll charge which is madness. <br/><br/>Excluding some of the cons above the night was very enjoyable and will provide either a group or couple a great meal.<br/><br/>Food 8/10 service 9/10 decor 8/10

great tasty food quick and prompt service, good coffee, and a happy environment/atmosphere, came here on holiday and definitely was not disappointed, will be back here on my  next holiday hopefully very soon.....

We had a conference dinner and the restaurant had to cater for around 150 people on a set menu. This place is arguably the best in Noosa. Entree was a beautiful crumbed duck and the mains was an eye fillet cooked medium. The desert was a chocolate pudding cake. Put simply, the eye fillet was as best as any that I've had in a long time. This restaurant must be visited if you're holidaying in Noosa.

On holidays from Melbourne and we were saving one night to treat ourselves to a nice dinner. So glad we chose this venue. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by the hostess who sat us at our table almost straight away. Friendly conversation followed about our day and then what kind of water we wanted at the table. Shortly after we were asked what drinks we were after. The service here was fantastic. Perfect amount of time left between entree, main and dessert so we had time to digest the meals. Very attentive staff who did not leave a single water glass or wine empty. The meals were absolutely delicious and generous and I believe that it was worth every cent we paid for each meal. The dessert was the highlight for me, mainly because I have an obsession with chocolate, however the chocolate pudding was cooked to perfection with oozing warm chocolate coming out of the middle. Mixed perfectly with the vanilla bean ice cream. Extensive wine list, location on the beach, I highly recommend giving this place a shit. Most expensive meal is the steak at $42 but well worth the money.
Sam
Enjoyed the food. Small servings, particularly the charcuterie and the lamb main. For a restaurant that states it prides itself on its wine list, I was very disappointed to be served pinot noir in a riesling (or smaller) glass, and I wasn't too impressed with the "by the glass" list.
Dumba
Beautiful setting and great service from the staff. We managed to get a booking got a Saturday night and it was busy, but the food came out in a timely fashionable was superb. Sashimi was fresh, seafood was nicely cooked and dessert was great.

Super impressed with the food and lovely in the day looking over the beach! The Moreton bay bug and the lamb were really good with great flavours!! Servings a bit small but food was great

We found this lovely restaurant whilst walking along the beach. We were seated straight away. The oysters and sashimi starters along with the beach sunset were amazing. We followed with rocket and pear salad, then Morton Bay Bugs which were cooked to perfection. Dessert was a chocolate concoction. Could not fault the friendly service and food. Great experience!

Great position right at the top end of the beach - very pretty at night if there is a moon but we prefer it for long relaxing lunches. Service is good, wine list is very good, food can be excellent.
Adele_64
Noosa Local. Had a wonderful lunch today, the food was divine and the service terrific. I had the Scallop Ceviche for entree, the Grass Fed Eye Fillet for main and the Belgium Chocolate Delice for dessert. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and made sure that we were well looked after. With the perfect view of the Noosa Main Beach and wonderful company it was the perfect way to spend a Friday afternoon.

Excellent food at a price. The location, staff, food and drink at Sails is amazing. You certainly won't be disappointed. The only downside is the price. If you can look past that, highly recommend.

Went for dinner with my husband and 2 year old and had a great experience. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. Highchair, crayons, stickers and a special cup for my daughter made us so relaxed and her happy! Food was delicious. Tried the pasta shells and bug tails. Highly recommend the gingerbread cake dessert too. Loved watching the storm over the water from the restaurant.

Nothing Special. They don't have to try so they don't. Like all the restaurants I tried in this area on a recent visit, the food was BORING!

The view was incredible and the food delicious. Staff were very accommodating and really nice. Entrees, mains & desserts were amazing. It's quite expensive but definitely worth the experience!!!

Gorgeous setting and beautiful food. Dined here recently for a special occasion dinner with my girlfriend. We had a great table overlooking the water, I would recommend requesting one of these tables at time of booking for an unobstructed view of the ocean. <br/><br/>The ambiance, service and food were all great. I really do not have any complaints about this place. <br/><br/>The highlight dish for me was the entrée crab lasagne.<br/><br/>I was given the wrong main meal (I ordered zucchini flowers and was given Morton bay bugs), as I like bugs it was not a problem for me and I offered to eat that meal rather than have them cook the zucchini flowers. The waiter gave me the bugs to eat (no charge) and also cooked the zucchini flowers and brought them out for us to share after our mains. I thought this was handled really well and a lot better than I have sometimes experienced at other restaurants when an error is made.<br/><br/>We would return to Sails!

Best barramundi ever. Great service. Tasty food. Highly recommended.

To the Owner of Sails: for heavens sake, renovate already! Surely by now you own your house on the hill. Have been coming here for years and NOTHING has changed. It's appalling to have to navigate 3 flights of stairs & several right turns just to find the bathrooms. An investment in a good architect would be a good move. Food & service is great - by far the best on Hastings St but I find it ridiculous that you haven't changed by far the biggest inconvenience of this location. Also, potential patrons - check the vintage of ordered to poured... we were short changed 3 years. 2008 served / 2005 ordered. Not a big deal at the end of the day but still not something you feel you should have to point out.
Cuptart
Fabulous location & cosy atmosphere. Terrific, friendly & patient waitress. Lamb ribs entree was finger licking good. Barra cooked to perfection - melted in the mouth. Yellow curry with scallops & prawns was chockablock with flavour. Choc pudding oozed appropriately & was a satisfying end to a delicious meal. Highly recommend.

Food okay - stuffy and unfriendly service. Having booked over three weeks ago for a mid-week dinner, we were disappointed by the lack of friendliness at Sails.<br/><br/>We've stayed at Noosa twice a year for years and always miss dining here. It always looked nice at night and lounge-y at lunch.<br/><br/>On arrival tonight, the maitre d' was not unfriendly, but certainly not the opposite either. As a couple dining, we were seated between two families with five children between them - not a good start. Considering we booked weeks ago, and the restaurant was not full, perhaps a more suitable table would have been better. The guy did not seem in a mood to question the table choice, so we took what we were given.<br/><br/>We found the other wait staff to be an unsmiling bunch - making for uncomfortable encounters. Pushing past elbows to lay knives and forks was not expected and not appreciated.<br/><br/>The food was good and there was a great choice - oddly, husband's 'appetiser' was bigger than my entree. The lamb and beef fillet were pretty standard and tame in design, but had great tastes.<br/><br/>The really annoying thing though, was both of my vodka, lime and sodas were taken away when they still had a bit to go - particularly my second which was taken away while I was at the loo and had at least a third left! I came back to a $160 bill and no drink! Not happy about that!<br/><br/>We eat out a lot and are not 'precious' people, and were really looking forward to going here, after walking past it for years. However, we would not return. We went to Bistro C the night before for an impromptu dinner and found it had a much better atmosphere, friendlier wait staff and great menu - and they didn't steal my drinks! :)

Great food and service!. We had always been told that Sails was overpriced with small portions, but as nothing much else was open on a Monday night we decided to give it a shot and had a great night! The Moreton Bay Bug tails were a touch over cooked, but the sand crab lasagne was fantastic. Great service and there was a top wine list here too- try the Sorrenberg Gamay for any light red lovers.
ChitChatFood
Enjoyable. Great food, great service - the two stand out dishes were the Glacier 51 toothfish and the roast duck breast (special on the day).<br/><br/>Large wine selection, with knowledgable staff helping you match wine to food. We had a great time there left with all smiles, well done Sails keep up the good work.

Duddo. First time I've been to a high end restaurant where people had there 2 dogs! Yes 2 dogs at the table next to ours, I can go to maccas and I don't have put up with that ! Woof woof.<br/>$250 plus bill and I dined with dogs.

The Best Place on the Beach. We love going to Sails when in Noosa. The food is fantastic and excellent value. The staff are great and really handle a table of kids well. And the view is amazing. I had the Bugs - they were brilliant. My son loved the deserts (of course what 12yo doesn't). Highly recommended - better book - it gets packed out.

Disappointed!!!! Booked a s.... Disappointed!!!!<br/>Booked a specific table in person for a special lunch... All good until our family arrived at the booked tIme... They had given table away! No apology kept us waiting until they eventually made up another table. It was evident they needed a maitre'd as waitress wasn't confident. Not expected at a high end restaurant. The entree was very small for a big price especially the 3 small scallops on offer. After a long ,long & unacceptable wait for our mains what a disappointment in the quality of the food. The duck confit was horrible as it was very dry and chewy..unacceptable! The fillet was over cooked and full of gristle.. Can't believe a chef of such a renown establishment like sails would let this through his pass ! After finishing lunch we informed waitress of the poor quality of the above dishes in which she replied with no apology " I'll give you a free desert" as if to silence us.... No thanks!<br/>They even charged us for some imported water we didn't order!<br/>Can't believe that this restaurant in such a beautiful location can get every aspect so wrong! Very disappointed and hard to recommend !

Great Place to Dine. Dining at Sails is a very enjoyable experience, the ambience and quality of food and great presentation make it the place you go back to time and time again. The whole family enjoy Sails, every time we visit Noosa we end up there for a delicious meal.
Tom And Jerry
Did not disappoint!. Had to write a review to say how much I loved the gingerbread and butternut custard dessert. So delicious I couldn't stop saying Yum! Tom had the chocolate pudding and this was pretty good too. For mains I had the eggplant parmigiana and whilst it didn't blow my mind with flavour it was still very tasty with fresh local ingredients. Main sizes are not large so you can easily have three courses here. Service was excellent and we will be back.

Food was great, scallops amazing

Disappointed. Went for dinner - the food was unimaginative and overpriced (for the quality and presentation). disappointing.

Fab Lunch at Sails Restaurant. Went to lunch at Sails, Noosa and it was absolutely perfect. Seated at the front looking down the length of Noosa Beach on a beautiful summers day. The staff were excellent, friendly without being over-friendly, if you know what I mean. We had a three course lunch, starting with Scallops with crab, etc., then for mains we had Balmain Bugs with all the extras, mouth watering. And, a to-die-for desert. We couldn't have asked for anything more. As locals, we go to lots of restaurants and usually there is always something that we are disappointed with but Sails was the best of all Noosa. Will be going back soon.

Oh my godddddddd the scallops and pork are Devine! Best main I've eaten in forever! It was amazing! Crispy yet melting pork and the on shell scallops were tender and sweet. The rich sauce that the pork was drowned in was the sexiest and most amazing sauce I've ever had. Yum!

Sensational. We dined at Sails for lunch. The food was exquisite, so many different taste sensations. The pork and scallop dish was incredible!! Tanya our waitress was fabulous, the view is amazing. DEFINATELY worth a visit!

Clearly there was tables available. Me and my partner waited and waited not one staff member cared to even look at us. One staff came up and told us to wait and someone will get us a table. We waited until the manager finally came to us and even ask us how many people? Derrr its just me and my partner. He look at us and refused to give us a table when clearly there was 3-4 tables available. They made us wait and refused us in the end. By the way they looked at me and my partner, made us felt really outcast. Clearly this place is such a racist place to go and eat. Thumbs down, so disappointed even though was so looking forward to go eat here after reading the reviews.

Sails was by far the best dining experience I had in Noosa. Fantastic location with a fitting decor. For entree I had the miso toothfish which was just amazing! My partner had the scallop ceviche, also very tasty. For main I had the steak, cooked perfectly and served with a lovely potato croquette. My parter had the bugs, the star dish. Highly recommend. My daughter had spaghetti bolognese and a mocktail from the kids menu, she was very happy with her meal. For dessert we shared the chocolate pudding, again fantastic! The service was great, our waitress was lovely. She recommended that some sake would go perfectly with our mains, we took her advice. The wine list was also fantastic! We left sails happy, full and a little tipsy. Sails is on the more expensive side than other restaurants in Noosa but it's well worth it!

Mediocre service at Sails. Went to Sails tonight with the family- arrived as advised at booking time at 5.45 pm. Kept waiting at entrance for 5 minutes as staff rushed around looking busy but ignoring us! Finally acknowledged and taken to table with excuse that some diners had only just left from lunch. Service disjointed and exceedingly slow- they tried to take food order before organizing any drinks. Food of usual high standard as one would expect of a restaurant with mains in the $40 plus bracket. Premium wines by the glass but Lakes Folly Chardonnay not poured at table and amount for $38 per glass was stingy. Leuwin Estate Chardonnay actually poured at table but label not displayed! Waited forever for plates to be cleared and finally for the bill. They seem to be seriously understaffed and some staff are seriously undertrained. Have had good experiences at Sails in the past but disappointed this time. Service much better across the road at Locale and food not to shabby either. Even Cafe le Monde at the cheap and cheerful end of the spectrum had far superior service to Sails.

The service was great, however food was a disappointment. Flavours were a little confused, wine list over priced and unimpressive. Apple tart and gingerbread icecream was great, however all other food on our table left us wishing we had eaten somewhere else.

Last night we came across this restaurant and decided to stay for dinner. Even though it was booked out, they accommodated us by shuffling a few things. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the food... we were totally blown away! We had the crab lasagne, tacos, rib fillet and pork/scallops which we could not fault. Thank you so much for your hospitality - you surpassed all of our very high expectations!

Best in Noosa. Went back today for lunch. Last time we ate here was last year. I forgot how good this place really is. Interesting menu and good wine list not overpriced .<br/>Noosa has some great restaurants but this one is the best. Great service & very well managed. Hard to beat good as anything Melbourne has to offer. Will be back next visit. Best in Noosa. This place has it all. <br/>Great location, highly recommend requesting a table at the front especially at dusk,<br/>Entrée, main & desert consumed every visit.<br/>Also a great variety of wines,<br/>This place is our favourite restaurant in Noosa by far,<br/>See you soon

Ate here last night. The food was great and the wine list is one of the best I've ever seen. However, the standout of the night was the service, which was absolutely excellent. I'll be going back.

Watching the waves roll in . . . couldn't be nicer. A really mellow and delicious dinner at Sails. I'd say the lamb was better than the tuna, but it was all really pleasant. Reminded me a bit of St. Barth's, low key and yet excellent.<br/><br/>Recommended
Food Glorious Food
It was a really beautiful dinner. The service members were attentive and courteous. I asked for wine recommendations and was given a short and sweet description followed by a taste before committing. This is a great way to serve customers that don't understand wine too much.<br/>The food was great, everything was well cooked and well seasoned. Portions were just right and not too small like other fine dining restaurants.<br/>I went away feeling satisfied and happy. The bill was definitely reasonable for the food and wine.<br/>I would make an advance reservation when I come to noosa next time.

Possibly the best dinner we have EVER had! We ate here on Saturday night and could not fault the restaurant one bit. The service was outstanding, not overly pretentious, stiff and stale like you can get at other 5 star restaurants but still exceptionally professional and welcoming. They were happy to explain the dishes with detail and were friendly. The dishes were presented beautifully, using the freshest ingredients and full of flavor. The service timing was also top notch, the right amount of time so we weren't rushed and weren't hungry. The restaurant is very well run and organised, even on a busy saturday night. I would highly recommend Sails to anyone looking for the perfect night out in Hastings Street. It's worth every penny!!!

Mmmmm.......... Went here for our first wedding anniversary and absolutely loved it. We had had a shocking trip up from melbourne with us missing our virgin flights and having to re-book with Jetstar[!] and then had a snooty car rental lady who decided to overcharge us and then checked into accommodation that looked nothing like the pictures online [pix probably taken at the time the apt was built 10years ago]. Lets just say that after having a delightful meal here, all that didn't matter. We finally officially started celebrating [instead of crying] our anniversary. We went back the following day for lunch and was just awesome!
Amy
Wonderful experience. Due to my mistake, we arrived 30 min late for our booking- the waiter told us it was no problem, and not to worry (he was just about to call us). He sat us in the table right at the front overlooking the ocean waves with the torches framing the view. I suspect the scallop cerviche was the most amazing entree I've ever had. The rest of our food was also brilliant. Kind and efficient service, wonderful food. We'll be back!

Food was over priced got the barramundi and it was incredibly small with a tiny serving of salad and 3 cherry tomatoes was starving still after the main. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Sav
Started off on the wrong foot after they forgot we were waiting in the wine bar. Went out of their way to make up for it with great service. The food was varied - entrees were very good (especially the dumplings), but I was expecting more from the mains; good quality but a little pedestrian. Overall they still rate will.

What a fabulous restaurant the view the food the service out of this world the staff are so friendly and warm it's really an experience that has to be had when In Noosa... Only small complaint they were out of Mud Crab so I had the bugs instead that we're sensational. Brilliant!

Delicious and wonderful service. We were in Noosa for a short holiday and my partner and I wanted a nice dining experience. We weren't left disappointed with Sails. Started with the bread (ciabatta) with trout butter - amazing! For mains, I got the Jungle Curry - the seafood was fresh and tasty, it was a massive serve, the level of spice was 'mild' so I requested some chilli on the side to spice it up, which made it perfect. Partner got the beer battered fish and chips - also delicious! Extensive selection of wines, we shared a bottle of Isabel Estate Sav Blanc which went beautifully with the meals.<br/><br/>The atmosphere is lovely- not too noisy. The waitstaff were extremely helpful with explaining the dishes and accommodating our requests. Highly recommended!

Location and Service Splendid. Great friendly service, lovely lemon flavoured water constantly refilled, beautiful food and view of whales. Brilliant cocktails

Just lovely. Had a lovely dinner at Sails on Friday night. Our waitress Karen was wonderful - kind, attentive, knowledgable and personable. Top picks from our selections were the Sashimi, Zucchini Flowers and the Morton Bay Bugs. And of course the view is lovely but a view is nothing without great food and great service.

Just ate dinner at Sails tonight. I ordered the special slow cooked then char grilled lamb. The meal came out cold and the lamb was undercooked and full of gristle. I sent it back and ordered the caremelised pork and scallops. When the waitress brought out the second main she said "enjoy" and walked away but did not leave me any cutlery! It took me little while to get her attention and some cutlery. The people at the table next to us ordered coffin bay oysters and sent them back because they didn't think they were coffin bay oysters because they were very small. I expected better from Sails. I have eaten there before but was disappointed tonight.

My wife and I enjoyed a great dinner for our 11th wedding anniversary. Had the salt and pepper duck and the mooloolabah prawns, sensational. Couldn't fault the service but they still gave us a free desert for keeping us waiting, not sure what wait that was but not complaining. Highly reccomend.

We could not be happier with our experience. The food was superb, the staff are excellent & they are very child friendly. A definite a must!
Andie
Beautiful food esp dumplings, crab rolls, ceviche. Great location and fantastic service. Our waitress was brilliant!

Never dissapoints. This was my second visit and again Sails in my mind is the place to dine on an otherwise overrated hastings street. Service is friendly and our waiter really knew his stuff when it came to explaining the menu which has a good variety of choices and a lack of pretension. Spanner crab entree and Barrumandi main were both excellent and a great choice of wine. My partner had slow cooked lamb and it was cooked perfectly falling apart on the fork. Not inexpensive but well worth it, and left me looking for a reason to revisit Noosa.

Steak was burnt and dry, then cold in the middle. Pizza bread was also horrible. Apparently the seafood is better.

Great duck arancini balls, divine bug tails, and finished off with ginger ice cream & pear/apple tart. Fab service too. Recommend

Must go again. The second my eyes hit the menu I knew what I was having. The king prawns were perfect. So was the wine. Dining made easy. Lovely place to be sheltered from the wind outside. Service excellent. Highly recommended!!!
Lisarn
Absolutely adore this place. The good is fresh and delicious and the staff are attentive but not too overwhelming. The dumplings, crab rolls and sashimi are a must have for entrees, and you cannot go past the king prawns curry main. The Lychee mule cocktails are also to die for and are the perfect remedy to a hot summer day. Absolutely recommended.

Had a great Moreton bay bug and cuttlefish salad.

The service is spot on and the sashimi is divine!! A wonderful experience.
