Review La Vida Restaurant - Noosa

Steve Mavin
We had a superb fine dining experience at La Vida on our first night in Noosa. Entrée, mains & sides were all delicious. The drinks & service were also well above average, our French waiter was a class operator. The outside area is a great space too so overall highly recommended.

One of the best restaurants in Noosa without a doubt. I recommend it 100%. I went with my partner and our meals were fantastic 🤩! I totally recommend the scallops! The service was awesome as well, very friendly and helpful staff and we really liked the atmosphere. I don’t know the owners but congratulations to them and of course to their staff!

Fantastic meal, friendly staff, great portion size with well paired wine. Couldn’t ask for a better dining experience proposition. My pick the Risotto for starter and Bolognese for main. Don’t miss this one at the north end of Hastings on your trip to Noosa, make sure you book so you don’t miss out. Complimentary hand gel on each table. You will find yourself licking your plate clean!

oh My GOD!!!!!!! If you are visiting the Sunshine Coast, do yourself a MASSIVE favour and get yourself to La Vida. This platter was so fresh, it was like the chef went out the back door, walked across the beach, went for a swim, came back with a bag load of sea food, prepared it and served it to us! Just AWESOMELY fantastically beautiful!!!!

We went to La Vida for our anniversary. The staff were so warm and welcoming and knew the menu and wines very well. The Tasmanian scallops were so delicious, but the King Fish was perfectly cooked and a star on the menu. The wines are good quality and lovely and even the crockery was modern and added character to each dish. Amazing location on Hastings Street, with the ambience of fairy lights, people watching and the option to book the private special occasion room. We find La Vida is our favourite restaurant.

We recently visited La Vida with our extended family and we were again blown away with the food and service. The restaurant couldn't have been more accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The staff were so kind to our three year old, it absolutely made his day. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional too.

Husband and I have just had an amazing meal. Delicate ravioli of Moreton bay bug and prawn. Entree of scallops & calamari. Divine sauces to add with all meals. The European style service, waiters with Italian, French accents complimented a professional and flavoursome Evening. The wine list was stylish and accommodated the food . I cannot recommend it more highly.

Have dined here numerous times in the past & the seafood platter was always a thing of joy. Also the wine selection was excellent. The restaurant has recently changed hands & sadly the new chef is not up to the mark. The platter was very greasy, the range of seafood was limited with very little fresh/cold elements (4 prawns & 6 oysters). The whole squid hoods were tough (lazy presentation) & clams are not much of a filler (all shell).
Shoestring fries get cold quickly.
The wine selection was limited at best.
The service was good but we also needed to eat.
Sorry, won’t be back any time soon.

Amazing, tasty food! Customer service was amazing! we were served by the kindest French waiter who made the experience so much more pleasurable

Great food and service. We managed to get the early bird 2 course plus wine deal for just $45 when ordering before 6pm which was a bargain. Amazing value and the seafood was fresh and generous. Highly recommend the japanese crumbed calamari.

We dined here for lunch and chose the club sandwich and pumpkin sweet potato gnocchi. My husband enjoyes the steak sandwich which was quite generous in size. He really wanted it served with chips though! Mine was... different. It came in a very soupy sauce and the 'gnocchi' was like a slab and had no resemblance of gnocchi whatsoever. It was tasty with good flavours but it wasn't gnocchi so shouldn't have been called that.

Service was good, our waitress was really lovely and friendly. I'd have liked to give it 2.5 stars but I found the restaurant lacked a bit of ambiance and am glad it was on the Entertainment Card because all up I think there are better places on Hasting Street.

A beautiful gem of a restaurant. We went for dinner to La Vida with our young boys, and loved it! The food was delicious. I had the Cone Barramundi risotto and my husband had the prawn spaghetti. The kids meals were also fantastic and my kids polished their meals. They were also given coloring pencils to play with and waiters were friendly. We loved the ambience at La Vida and the tasty food just made the experience memorable.

First time eating here, staff were pretty on top of things. Had the lamb brains which is not usually on a menu and often not cooked properly, fortunately these guys served up a great entree that was perfectly creamy in the centre with a light crispy crumb! Eye fillet was ok, the Diane sauce was a tad too sweet for me. Overall good meal.

This restaurant deserves a much higher rating. Fantastic mango daiquiri and oven baked gnocci. The entree is a very generous serve if you're not that hungry. The dish of the day was also amazing and so generous with barramundi and prawns. Highly recommend this when visiting noosa.

Fantastic food, the best I had during my Noosa stay. I really enjoyed the vibe here. The staff are an invaluable asset to the dining experience. I would highy reccomend treating yourself to a dinner here!

Excellent food!! Oysters kilpatrick and tempura for starter and an entree size prawn pasta, which was more than enough. Used the entertainment book voucher so had $40 knocked off the price but was well worth the money anyway.

Superb food! Superb service! I'm not normally dessert focused but the pear wontons with caramel sauce are absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant!

My favorite restaurant in Noosa Heads. The fish of the day never disappoint me and the oysters are so fresh served on sea salt with a slice of lemon. Dessert is my favorite part as well, the cheese cake is so nice. Service is always good.

The barramundi was excellent, the fried wonton desert pretty good and the service was also excellent. The bread with dukkah and olive oil as entree was great although at $11 for bread a bit on the pricey side.

All in all very happy with the meals and service and would definitely come back.

@what a fantastic meal super service would recommend highly to any one staying in Noosa to go there the
The BBQ bugs were amazing we will be back

Great food and top service too! Really nice oysters from Coffin Bay, all the seafood was great! If your a seafood lover make sure you go here and you have to try the seafood platter for 2 (photo doesn't do it justice!) We couldn't get through it all!
The other options on the menu aside from this looked great and could hear compliments from other diners on their meals.. Make sure you done here at least once if visiting Noosa Heads like we did :)

So tasty, clean flavours and quality produce. I had the baked pumpkin gnocchi and although it's not your traditional gnocchi it is still worth a go! Friendly and attentive service.

Best smoked chicken pasta I've ever had. Waiters were also very friendly and kind. Great little restaurant, reminds me of Europe. We will be back again soon!

Great service. We booked at the last minute on a Friday evening and managed to get a table for two. The special was a Cajun barramundi which was amazing. The king prawn pasta was good too. Friendly atmosphere and helpful staff.

Good food, good service.. Dined there 2/5/15. I had the meatballs and pasta. Sauce was delicious with red pepper, chilli and feta. Unfortunately the meatballs were not that tasty and very hard to cut. Hubby had the fish of the day which was barramundi and he said it was really nice. Staff attentive. Will be back.

Great old school home cooking. A pleasure to dine at, real alfresco setting and relaxing atmosphere. Lovely wait staff and service. My girlfriend and I booked a table here for dinner on a recent trip to Noosa and were delighted. We were seated looking out onto Hasting St, and enjoyed the meal tremendously. We ordered the Ciabatta with garlic and herb butter to start, which appeared to be home baked and pulled apart beautifully. Lovely light texture inside and a great crunchy crust. You can tell that if a restaurant takes such care in its bread, then the meal was going to be just as good if not better. We were humbly correct. We both had the lamb shanks for mains and what a treat. Two gorgeous shanks which pulled away from the bone, in a rich tomatoe based sauce, with honey baton carrots on a bed of creamy mash potatoe. Exceptional. I matched it with a glass of Pinot Noir and was not disappointed. A must for anyone planning a trip to Noosa, or a night in Hasting St. A great old school home cooking restaurant

Good food, good service. Our family had a very nice dinner here. My 1 year old had the kids spaghetti bowl as she loves pasta, my wife had a barramundi and scallop dish that was perfect and I had the meatballs which were excellent (I love meatballs) The food was great and the service was even better with friendly waiters/waitress looking after us and interacting with my daughter which I love when we go out. Highly recommend you go here
Cristina
Excellent restaurant! I recommend "the Tapas plate", very taste and well present course

Very nice. Went for dinner in late October 2014.
Great food and service. I'd rate this place only second to Bistro C.
Much more quiet and intimate than Bistro C and great food also.
Definitely recommend.

Great Food, Great Service!. We visited Noosa for our honeymoon and tested out many of the top restaurants in Hastings St. La Vida was by far the best service we received and the meal was beautiful. Local Noosa friends of ours also recommended this restaurant for dinner. My husband had the eye fillet which was perfectly cooked to his liking and I had a main serving of the Moreton Bay Bugs with dill and garlic butter, which were absolutely mouth watering. Waitress knew her wines and what to pair with our mains and was most attentive. I never write reviews, but was compelled to tell others about our experience. Will definitely return to this restaurant on our next visit to Noosa next year.

Best in noosa. This was our best meal in noosa. The seafood chowder and moist chocalate cake are two highlights. Keep up the good work.

If you are Hungry order the lamb shanks, two meaty shanks on mash potatoes and carrots, great meal very filling, as was the barra with scollops. Good service too!
Ryan
Wow! A must for anyone wanting a top meal on Hastings street!

Spectacular food. I had the special of the day which was a pan-seared barramundi served with risotto and prawns. It was just mouthwatering. The fish fell apart beautifully and the risotto was perfectly cooked (even for this snob who thinks nobody's is as good as nonna's). I also had a beautiful mousse for dessert and left well and truly full and satisfied. The service was also wonderful and made this a memorable holiday meal.

Good feel, good pasta. Would come again.

The mortan bay bugs are superrrrrrrr

Very Enjoyable. Have been a couple of times. Really enjoyed the scallop dish, lamb shank and sticky date pudding. Early bird deal worth pursuing.(2 courses and glass of wine for $39.50)

Had dinner here on Fri night to celebrate my fiance's birthday. We had the seafood platter for 2. It was huge but we actually got through it. Everything on it was amazing, especially the baby octopus and the calamari. For dessert we had Petit Fours which was amazing. The place was busy and there's not much room between tables. Service was good. A bit expensive but not unusual for Noosa

Exceptional service with great food. We dined twice here on our recent trip to Noosa. The service was exceptional, especially Carmen and Gary, our waiters for the evening. Both are natural hosts with endless patience, plenty of bright smiles and just the right amount of attentiveness. Well done. The food is well-cooked, perhaps a little conventional but really that totally paled into insignificance when matched with this exceptional level of service. Lovely clean WCs and BYO is helpful.

Beautiful bread! Devine entre - large tapas to share - so good. Baramundi great also. Have to say they use too much garlic on everything tho! Wait staff good, decore dated and needs revamping. Overall - I rate this place for its food.

Lost something..... We've been to La Vida a few times over the past couple of years and have always been satisfied. We had dinner here last Thursday night and while it wasn't terrible, it wasn't that great. My husband's lamb shanks, he said, were a bit like mush and my chicken parcel didn't have a great flavour.

We were at Noosa (Little Cove) for five nights and preferred dining down at Noosaville rather than Hastings Street. There's much more variety and so much better priced - especially for breakfast.

Shared the seafood platter between 4- amazing!! Meant for two but perfect for four with a couple of sides. Great service, location and reasonably priced. Will come back!!

Great seafood platter. After experiencing another Hasting's St seafood platter on a separate trip to Noosa I was hesitant to spend $125 on one without reading a good review.. This seafood platter really hit the mark though. Was well worth the money. An older crowd at this restaurant on a Saturday night wasn't impressed with the three young girls who showed up half way into our meal, but we didn't feel out of place (mid - 30's). The diners around us were also enjoying their meals. One that isn't on the menu - a seafood chowder in a bread bowl. Apparently order this one ahead of time. Would go back to try that.
Tasty Chris
Disappointing. Not up to scratch - my duck dish was overcooked with zero plate presentation appeal. My wife had Morrocan chicken salad that was just slapped together. Very unprofessional and hardly even home cooking standard.
Bel
We hadn't even ordered our food and we were already in love with this place. The ambiance was great, staff attentive and the food portions reasonable and delicious. I recommend the duck and definitely this restaurant.
Garry
A must visit location if in Noosa. Food is always great, service very good, and all priced reasonable. Trying to work our way through the menu but can't go past the duck!
Louise
Love this place!. I have been to this restaurant a number of times. It's in a great spot right on Hastings Street. The service is really good and the food is amazing. My parents visit Noosa twice a year from Sydney and would eat at La Vida at least twice each time they vist. The food is fresh and very enjoyable

Trish Spaull. Love the atmosphere and friendly staff of this fantastic restaurant and the slow cooked organic duck is the best I have ever tasted.
Looking forward to my next visit

Noosas finest. I go up to Noosa approx 3 times a year and every time, I head to La Vida at least twice. With my husband being a chef, we appreciate good food and this restaurant never disappoints. The food is always brilliant and the service is perfect. I agree with the last writer, the calamari is the best I have tried however nothing can surpass the duck, although the seafood platter I must say, comes close.
Sarah
Beautiful Food, Great Service. My partner and i enjoyed our anniversary here and it was a fantastic night. The food was amazing (and im fussy), the staff were friendly and the wine was plenty :)
I'll definately go back next time im in Noosa.

Thanks guys.
x

One word sums up La Vida.... SUPERB!!! Service was friendly and attentive, but the food was simply devine. All 3 courses were faultless. Highly recommend calamari starter. Best calamari i've eaten. Moroccan chicken with pumpkin risotto .. Mouthwatering. We'll be back there before the week is out. Prices very reasonable.

I adored my order of La Vida Restaurant‘s famous chowder. It arrived in a crusty cob, so popping off the lid was almost like opening a little gift. The fresh oyster that is served as a finishing touch the first thing I slurped up. Whether or not its salty sea flavour is an aphrodisiac, it certainly had me prepped and eager to dig into the chowder, which is loaded with barramundi, prawns, mussels and scallops.
