Review Noosa Boathouse - Noosaville

Boon Hoe Chew
The setup in the restaurant is so Hampton, and the upstairs bar give you a nice view. We went to the restaurant and had fish and chips over the two nights. Our kids have their kid's meals, and we have barramundi curries and finish off with dessert. Their service was excellent, and the food was exceptional. The food was so good that we went back for their fish n chips the next night.

✅ Credited Google Review Ever tried fish and chips ? Well… This place has got it all going on and got it going on really good ! No joke, I wasn’t disappointed one bit. Even to the amount of chicken salt on my chippies was spot on! The fish was delicious and the chips freshly made which is always nice. The sunsets (in my photos) are amazing and every Friday night there is live music at the front. I was visiting and I will be sure to always go back and enjoy myself at the boathouse whenever I can in QLD. Great job crew!

The food was amazing. We had the seafood experience for 2. The 'fried' tier had the most tender calamari, well-seasoned prawn and juiciest fish we have ever had during our stay at Noosa. The oysters tasted fresh, and the salad was just what we needed to refresh our palate after the fried food. The bugs were sizable and so were the prawns. Overall great food - the drinks were made strong too (which is a plus).

Noosa Boathouse was an amazing choice of venue for our wedding. The service was brilliant and all requests were dealt with so easily. Arianna and her team did a brilliant job for our wedding of 80 guests, we could not fault the venue at all. It is such a beautiful setting on the river which makes for great photographs. Would highly recommend Noosa Boathouse

What a great spot right on the Noosa River at Noosaville, literally with water underneath you. The service was wonderful and the food exceptional! Very relaxed atmosphere and did I mention the cocktails? Bloody lovely Bloody Mary! We had the sirloin, and fish of the day Snapper with a green mango and green paw paw salad absolutely glorious!

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience at Noosa Boathouse. We hired the Eastern Deck for a company function while we were in Noosa. Emma was super helpful, professional, and easy to organise the event with ahead of time. We received a formal itinerary to clearly make sure the whole event was planned, and the whole evening was timed and planned so perfectly. I was able to decorate the table for our event, and this really made it feel like more than just hiring a space. We also had 2 babies, and there was enough space to have their prams etc too. It was beautiful to be on the water, there were a lot of fish and crabs in the crystal-clear waters around us. The service was incredible, the waitresses were so happy, always smiling, happy to help and accommodate any request. The food was delicious, we enjoyed it so much and forgot to take photos! Drinks were nice too. Absolutely recommend Noosa Boathouse, food delicious, staff warm, happy and friendly, and well-priced.

I rarely review restaurants but had to for this one as wanted to share how amazing the food and service was. We were there on a Tuesday night, went in with no booking and got a beautiful table riverside. The food was unbelievably delicious with the ciabatta, the sirloin steaks and the creme brulee all sensational. Highly recommend! 👌🏻

I sat in the corner on my own I had to get up to order both my drinks and food staff only came to my table to take the empty plate away. Meanwhile a full restaurant of tables were being served.
Food_adikt
Friendly Staff, very helpful. Bar tender was fantastic with mixing the cocktails. Food on point. Steak as cooked medium rare and served with potatoe salad. The brownie was nothing to write home about, the salted caramel ice cream made it delicious. View was amazing.

The Boathouse is a floating venue with a casual restaurant, function centre and sunset bar at the top. The bar is a great place for light snacks and elegant cocktails while you watch the sun set over the water.<br/><br/>We went to the water level restaurant for their 4 course feasting menu for Friday lunch. We made a booking but there were plenty of tables for walk ins.<br/><br/>Each course consisted on two different dishes shared between us and there was a good variety of ingredients including scallops, kingfish, wagyu beef and a dessert platter to finish.<br/><br/>The service was friendly although little slow in following up when our drinks were empty.<br/><br/>The food was fresh and tasty and you can't beat that view! We also thought the menu was good value for $59pp and you definitely won't leave hungry

Service was friendly and the risotto was nice, fish cakes and tiramisu were ok. In a bigger market this place would be getting less 5 stars. Still worth a visit if you're in Noosa though.

Delicious food, great view. Relaxing and definitely worth a visit. We had the oysters kilpatrick and calamari for entree and the fish with yellow curry sauce and vegetables.

Service was very good. All the staff I interacted with were friendly. Very nice views of the river. I enjoyed my meal. The chickpeas were cooked with a nice flavour and the fish wasn’t over cooked either.

Went to the boathouse for dinner on New Years Eve with the family and it was that good that went back again a couple of days later and got the sirloin steak! Hands down one of the best dishes I’ve had, steak cooked to perfection and the potatoes had the best flavours! @Nom Nom Nom

Hands down the best restaurant in Noosa! We dined here twice, once on New Years and then again. The food was so fresh and delicious, the location is beautiful, management were fantastic with my sisters allergies and the staff were so lovely. We visit Noosa at least once a year and this is our new fave! Some of the best dishes were- the steak, seafood platter, fish in yellow curry and the pavlova. Will be back again this week to get some take away fish n chips.

Had coffee and a muffin at the little boat coffee place<br/>Mmmm very good!<br/>Stands out from al the other coffee shops on the river<br/>Definitely worth a trip<br/>Friendly staff and amazing surrounds<br/>Perfect

Dined here on thursday evening. Selected the seafood platter. Out came a three tiered platter that was excellent! All very tasty and plenty on the plated. The prawns were both natural as well as fried in a delicious coating. Service was great as so was the setting on the noosa river.

Food is excellent, view of river fantastic and service very good. Highly recommend the gnocchi and the beer battered fish, lightest crunchier batter with fish that just falls apart. Wonderful.

We were a group of hospitality workers who came here for a nice dinner on a night out. We regretted it immensely. <br/>Firstly, we made three orders of fish and chips and as stated on the menu chose our fish from the "daily fish" board. However, when we received the bill it was obvious the waitress did not take the order correctly and we instead were given "Fish of the day with chips" which in fact is $8 more expensive. Additionally, our friend also ordered Calamari ($29) as a main meal and only received 5 pieces (approx). <br/><br/>When explaining the issue to our waitress, she became defensive of HER mistake and placed all of the blame on us. She then told her manager, and returned to our table stating the mistake had been "amended". We assumed this meant the prices of our meals had been changed to what we ordered - $29 vs. $37. <br/><br/>However, whilst we were paying we found that we had been over charged. Upon inspection, we found that the manager had only "amended" one of the meals to the original price, leaving us to pay full price for the two remaining meals that were incorrectly served to us.<br/><br/>Overall, it was a terrible experience. We are a young group (19yrs and 20yrs old) but it still wasn't fair to treat us the way they did and put all the blame on us. Any other restaurant would have apologised and rectified ALL THE MISTAKES. <br/>Our food was overpriced for the portion and poor quality that we received. If I could rate less than one star I would.<br/>

Being in Noosaville for our birthday holiday we wanted a seafood treat on our special day. We trawled Zomato for hours and finally we decided to book the Noosa Boathouse after chatting to the lovely lady at the little cafe at the front of the boathouse.<br/>We had cocktails upstairs in the Sunset Bar before our meal (see review for Sunset Bar).<br/>We had already decided we would have the 3 tiered Seafood Platter for 2 before we even arrived.<br/>Staff were helpful, but super busy and run off their feet.<br/>Water bowl and wipes and waste bowl came promptly after Ordering. We did wait for a while for our wine, but it did finally arrive in a tall ice bucket.<br/>Our platter arrived not long after the wine and it was filled with salt n pepper calamari, battered barramundi, Mooloolaba prawns, Moreton Bay bugs, oysters and more. It was very tasty and the seafood sauce, tartare and ailoi accompanying it enhanced the flavours beautifully.<br/>What did let the place down was the noise!<br/>So noisy, not a place for a quiet romantic meal.<br/>Would definitely be back for there lunch specials.<br/>
Sophie
Had a takeaway fish and chips, was very good, sat and watched the fishes and a stringray swim past. The portion sizes are HUGE like I honestly couldn't finish my meal, there was 3 peices of battered fish which were lovely and had no small ones in them (YAY) and a mountain of chips.

The look and feel of this restaurant is good. We were seated on the water which was nice. The service and food would be average in my opinion. Not bad but not great.
Simon Heery
Great ambience and decor. Delicious food with rather quick service. There is a large focus on seafood and they are particularly tasty. A little pricey but we managed to get 10% off using our key from our accommodation.

Spent a great Tuesday lunch here on recommendation by a friend. Had a delicious seafood platter for two. I thought it was generous for the price ($115). Nice wine list by the glass too

Absolutely delicious - we had an early (5pm) sitting with our 20 month year daughter and all staff were so accommodating (corner table with high chair ready, plus drawing pad/ crayons supplied) kids menu was appropriate and tasty which joined our light calamari entree. <br/>For mains, My wife ordered the special crab risotto and I ordered ordered the rib eye which was honestly one of the best taking steaks I've had in a long while (complimented the chef immediately) which was served with chips/ mash and a tomato melody salad - sides were greens which were perfectly cooked. Good selection of beer on tap also just to make me happier. Great feed, feel and service which makes you want to return

Booked a table after a few photos of this place came up on my Instagram...so happy I did! The service from our young waiter was exceptional, polite and lovely. For main I ordered the pork belly and partner ordered the steak. Food was sensational, full of flavour and decent servings. We were both so impressed...haven't had a great meal like this in a while!
Kim
Generous servings of take away fish and chips. The fish batter was light and crispy. <br/><br/><br/><br/>

The seafood here is simply amazing, 'barramundi to die for'; fresh, cooked well and good servings, also well priced - we come to Noosa every year and eat at their fish and chips outside shop all the time (it's a mandatory stop for us). Keep it up guys, well done!

Management don't care! You cannot be a top restaurant if your customer service is poor... It will all too hard because they were busy... Hmmm. Better places around try RED.. <br/><br/>Poor poor poor! <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>

First time here and what an experience. Food was fantastic, quick and service great. The party all ordered fish and all were perfect. Arrived just before sunset and the view was splendid. Will definitely visit again next time on the Sunshine Coast.

What a great night, booked in advance for a seat next to the water for a birthday dinner. We were lucky to get a lovely waitperson and they nailed the scallops, seafood platter and brûlée. Well worth a visit and highly recommend the platter. Delicious all round

Amazing. We have been to Noosa many times usually visiting the big boys in Hastings street , but this restaurant is punching well above its weight. Never judge a sausage by its skin. This restaurant showcases quality ingredients with integrity and restraint. Tons of seafood and unpretentious environment and kid friendly, great service and a great deal for kids so get there early

Great service, lovely food, variety of dining settings and mind blowing views. Sunset bar on the top level is a gem. Nice place for a lazy afternoon drink or after work catch up.

A stunning location for a beautiful restaurant. My partner & I enjoyed the seafood platter for 2 and were not disappointed. We had the affogato & hot ricotta donuts for dessert and thoroughly enjoyed it. A true favourite and definitely one we visit on all trips to Noosa.

Yet another stunning location in the Noosa region, and the Boathouse doesn't disappoint. Our waitstaff was very accommodating with our request for a river view table, and produced a great segue into our meal. The rib eye was good value with its inclusions and cooked perfectly medium rare. The calamari order at the table also was cooked a to a silky tenderness. The drinks menu was lacking a little, as Cabernet Sauvignon by the glass did not exist. In summary, well cooked food with polite service with a stunning backdrop, and I would happily come back.<br/>Food 8/10 service 7/10 decor 7/10

Had the seafood platter and was pretty disappointed. The prawns and bugs did not taste fresh at all, the fishwas also bland. Overall was an expensive flavourless meal.

Delicious fresh and good quality seafood. Enjoyed lunch here, great service and location. Delicious, fresh and good quality seafood.

I know the new team have worked hard over the last year to make this a great venue. Went for first time Christmas Day and wasn't disappointed. So would recommend to anyone to try.

We had excellent service and the food was excellent too. Thanks for a great night!

Lovely. Great casual relaxed atmosphere. Seafood was so yummy & incredibly fresh. Very attentive service & great environment for 3 cheeky kids who were provided with supplies on arrival. Would go back in a heartbeat 10/10!!
Simon
Can't believe the bad reviews. Loved it!. We had an amazing meal, coupled with incredible views over the river. Service was amazing, staff knowledgeable and attentive. Prices were reasonable and the food was spot on. We are certainly coming back to this place!
Nicola
We came for a three course dinner as part of the Noosa food and wine festival and it was outstanding! After reading the reviews we were a bit hesitant, however it was faultless! Having the head chef of The Boathouse and another head chef from Port Douglas establish a menu and cook it for you was a fantastic experience. All the food was delicious and fresh, and the wine pairing was perfect. Couldn't fault the service either, with every waiter/ess going above and beyond and providing excellent service. We had such a lovely night, and based off our meals we would definitely return to try the normal menu.
Flowerpower_poppy
Extremely Disappointed. We had dinner here and found it very ordinary. The seafood wasnt fresh and the oysters tasted like they were from the supermarket and swamped in sause and soggy bacon. The whole meal was just like someone else said...surf club quality. Its extremely expensive and they really are just trying to be something that their not. Nobody at our table enjoyed our meal. Whatever you do dont get the donuts for desert, they were very doughy and just plain disgusting. Definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. The only positive is that our waitress was a very sweet attentative girl and does not deserve a negative comment. The manager woman, at least thats who I think she is...a little annoying with her hovering.
Cheryl
Loved everything about our visit to The Boathouse. Service was friendly and efficient, the meals were perfect, great view and the atmosphere was very pleasant. All in all this was a good choice for a birthday celebration!

Best seafood tower!. This is one of favourite places to go for dinner. My husband and I love the seafood tower, beautiful seafood and plenty of it. Love the sunset bar for yummy cocktails with my friends and an amazing view. The lunch specials are great value for a lovely lunch with friends. Can't wait to go back.

Can't say we were looking forward to visiting this place after all the bad reviews and word of mouth on this place We went anyway because we had a gift voucher. This restaurant is trying to be something it's not. The menu is nothing new with 5 star prices and surf club quality food but worse! The service is good but the waiters are just kids with no real hospitality experience. The seafood isn't fresh and the duck was dry the only good thing was probably the wine/beer. We couldn't wait to finish the meal and go home we were annoyed we had to pay on top pf of voucher. I have no idea how they survive as everyone there wern't impressed either. There are sooo many good places around Noosaville to go besides this joint. We won't be returning to this place ever! Such a joke

Our waitor was absolutely wonderful. Excellent oysters kilpatric and our mains were good too. However, we ordered tge panna cotta for dessert and it was very unset and tasted like scrambled egg and we were charged full price despite sending it back as a pile of mush, as well as being cha4ged $8 for s bottle of water!

Floating restaurant shreaks gimmick to me which I usually avoid like the plague. However, I was Pleasantly surprised. The coffee was very good and the eggs Benedict, aside from a slight hint of vinegar the chef uses to hold the eggs together when poaching, were very nice. great service as well as a nice outlook over the water.

Extremely disappointing. A group of 7 friends and I visited this restaurant for a birthday dinner. The birthday girl chose this restaurant due to the menu and location, so needless to say we were quite excited to have dinner here. Menu is quite pricey, however we were very willing to pay as we expected it to be nice. The main waiter was extremely unfriendly, it wouldn't kill him to smile once in awhile, especially considering he works in customer service! We were directed to our table and waited at least 10 mins to be provided with menus. After being served our drinks, one of our guests drink was forgotten. We received our entrees quite promptly, however found that our serving of salt n pepper calamari was quite small for its hefty price, though quite tasty. A number of us ordered the reef n beef. 2 guests ordered their steak medium rare as per chefs suggestion, only to find it quite rare, almost purple. Steaks were sent back to be cooked a little more, upon their return they didn't appear to be anymore cooked, still rare. The bearnaise sauce on the reef and beef was overpowering and not even stomach-able. The prawns were funny tasting. The only good thing about the dish was the Morton bay bugs. <br/><br/>The floating boathouse is extremely overpriced and not value for money. I will never be visiting this restaurant again nor will I be recommending it to anyone.
Peter
PLEASE SINK THIS BOAT. We had dinner here after seeing advertising and google search of Noosaville. This was a big big disappointment.<br/>Chef showed no respect for the fish that we were presented with. Poor accompanyments and sauces overpowered the fish.<br/>Wait staff were friendly and helpful but they could not save the food
Enjoy
The boathouse must have changed for the better. We were greeted by very friendly and knowledgeable staff. We chose the lunch special, calamari entree, grilled fish and a glass of wine for well under $30. This meal was well prepared, hot and fresh. The meal was served while we enjoyed the excellent river setting. The staff were quite attentive to when we were to be served. We asked not to be rushed as some other places seem to do. Seemed very popular and the range of meals others around us chose showed they cope with diversity. <br/>Earlier reviews on this site seem a long way from what we experienced. Seems management has addressed those issues. We are considering this restaurant to become our regular, hence our favourite.
Charles
Very disappointing. I went there after winning a voucher to pay for my food and I still left feeling like I didn't get value for my money. There was one pleasant waiter in the restaurant and the food was edible but not enjoyable. I don't expect to be going back.
Jane
Greeted by main chap was unfriendly as usual. Been before for organisational meetings. Staff poorly dressed. Decor tired and not like a boat. Empty tables but given worst table. Food very ordinary. Weird taste. Fish overcooked. Not fresh. Menu said pumpkin and greens. Two tiny bits of pumpkin and five tiny pieces of lettuce. Not recommended. A disgrace in Noosa especially as owned by tourism Noosa chair!!
Sophie
Where do I start. As soon as we walked in we were 'greeted' (if you could call a grumbled 'hello' as that) by a moody teenager who was clearly hating life. We ordered an entree of toasted ciabatta with goats cheese and balsamic onions, and were given two tiny tea saucers to eat off, which resulted in the meal almost landing in our laps. i had the steak sandwich as a main, which came out on a slippery bread board that was sliding around the table as I tried to eat. The steak was seriously over cooked, and tough, I could barely cut through it with the "steak" knife provided. All in all the service was terrible. Give me a pontoon and a BBQ and I could put this restaurant to shame. What a waste of a great location.
Samantha Fabris
We don't understand why the last few reviews were so bad . The food was amazing and the staff were great! Would definately return if travelling to noosaville!!
Bekandkenny
A little disappointing. Found the meals to be a bit overpriced for the quality of them. i have no trouble paying $30 for a meal if the quality is there, but unfortunally these werent. Waitress seemed a little like she couldnt be bothered and the ambience was terrible for being in such a prime location on the water, sorry- a miss for me!
Erick W Buma
Value for money just isn't there. I ordered the top steak in the menu but frankly I've paid less and got better elsewhere. I asked for potato instead of chips and the serve was laughable. May not return here I'm afraid.
Kym Easten
Tried it a few times over the years, overall quite disappointing. Staff couldn't care less, food is average at best and quite expensive. Out of the half dozen visits I've had one that was acceptable. This is a hit and miss restaurant, mostly miss. Muh better options around noosa river, the only thing it has going for it is that it's on the river
Steamrollersam
Dim everything, even the waiters. Don't know why this place bothers talking up the water views/floating boathouse concept when you can hardly see anything except when a ferry swans past. I even wonder now how I found this place because the car parking area's so dark, and there are no readable signs (this is just at dusk) to direct you. Inside the restaurant's no better. It's not romantic, it's downright dangerous to rely on tiny battery-operated table lamps and a few down lights for lighting. I can just imagine one of the geriatrics tripping and breaking a hip. Two waiters for a reasonably sized restaurant that was three-quarters full--not good enough. Got one entree and one main wrong, and a dessert fell off our order list. Apple crumble took 25 minutes to come after they burned h first attempt. Don't bother, unless everywhere else is booked out.
Grasshopper
Great views and good service. Had the lunch special and it was very good value. Just $28 for two courses of your choice & a glass of wine! Bookings recommended if you want a table on the water.
Tess
Fantastic Views & Seafood. I took my family there for a 40th lunch and had a great time, the food was delicious and service was attentive. Loved the Seafood Platter! Would definitely go back on next Noosa visit. Make sure you request a water edge table.

Inconsistent. Very good when its good but not consistent. Some days the staff are asleep at the wheel; and some days the food just doesn't come up to expectation.<br/><br/>The atmosphere and views are good. make sure you ask if there are any specials... it might save you a few $$$
Jason
Not bad. The steak I had was pretty good, My wife had the duck and she loved it. Not a stand out but I would go back.
