Review Grenny's Cafe & Restaurant - Noosaville

Annmaree Skelton
Let me preface this review by saying that 2022 in Noosa is probably a perfect storm of factors for restaurant owners - not knowing if they can open with a lack of staff (isolation etc). We made a booking ahead of time, after checking they would be open. Having visited Grennys for many years (and knowing they had recently changed ownership) I wasn't sure what to expect. One of the wait staff was quite cold in every contact with us (let's put it down to covid stress). The other barista was lovely and welcoming. The coffee was great and the food was fantastic. Pictured is the French toast with bacon and honeycomb.

Will never go back. Owner was rude to us and other customers, my partner ordered the eggs Benedict, added hash browns (3) for $5, received only 2 and a pathetic slither of avocado, the mango tango had no flavour, basically just frothy milk. It’s obvious that the new owners are giving the bare minimum. We do not recommend anyone go there until they pick up their game. Very disappointing, we have been to Grenny’s many times over the years, this was our first time since new owners and we won’t go back. There were 3 mature age ladies lined up to order their meals in front of us as we were lined up to pay, they were talking amongst themselves and rudely interrupted and told to go sit down and wait.

Its off to Grenny’s again for lunch our favourite local. Gus our dog enjoys Thursdays as they welcome him here on the footpath tables. The owner and staff are always friendly and happy to see you and are very attentive. Today we had a couple of drinks instead of coffees (which are very good according to John.) They are fully licensed and have a cool cocktails list and BYO wine if wanting. The menu is interesting with lots of old favourites including offal, we are working our way through. No offal for me though. Great seafood dishes both fresh and cooked. It’s so hard when you have a favourite to order something else sometimes but John went with the seafood crepe and I wanted to try the chowder. I normally prefer a chunky chowder this was blended but thick and tasty, tomato based not corn. The seafood flavour was definitely there it was different from what I am used too but very good. The KaiSiMin on toast is still my favourite and John’s is seafood linguine. The Breakfasts are all great and big. Lots of choice. A great open venue indoor and outdoor seating across the road from the river on Gympie Street. Well worth a visit we love it. Open for breakfast lunch and dinner. Very popular with locals

Hi, the service and staff were great. The wife had the Salmon, and I had the pasta marinara was very nice. I prefer spaghetti but they don't do spaghetti. Why is it a lot of pasta restaurants don't do a spaghetti now ?? Anyway the wife loved her meal. The people next to us had been going to this restaurant for nearly 30 years. So they must think it's pretty good. Cheers.

Easy to get a table Tuesday night. Simple tasty entree followed by mains served on hot plates. Wife so full she could not finish. We loved the experience

They go the extra mile. My two little ones can never have pancakes out because of allergies, but these guys made a fresh batch of dairy free pancake mixture and made mini pancakes with fruit to ‘decorate’ them with. The staff are so friendly. Couldn’t recommend these guys more!

We often have seafood from Grenny's - great food, great location, lovely Noosaville place! However Jackie was awesome on Fri night as we ordered our fish and chips. Alert and on the ball - as soon as I said my partner was dizzy and shaking she seated him, got him water and made us both feel comfortable. Turns out she has her first aid - and reassuring us was natural and professional for her. She was our earth angel that night. None of it ruffled her at all. He'd done too much hard yard work and I think his blood sugar had dropped too low - so once we had our yummy takeaway we sat on the river, and soon he was right as rain again. Thank you Jackie!!

Dine in, don't order through a delivery service. Got eggs Benedict through doordash. I didn't mind weird additions like the 2(literally just two) spinach leaves, 2 pieces of capsicum, purple onion, I can deal with that. 1 piece of bacon and not enough Hollandaise to drown a flea, that's just not on. I've eaten in restaurant many times and we've always been satisfied.
