Had the salmon roll with a zingy lemon drink. Both were very competitively priced and large. Quirky interior and friendly staff although the initial service could be quicker. Lucky location being on a corner.
Such a cute cafe, love the interior and it’s got great chill vibes! Food was simple but delish! The food wasn’t over the top, and just simple ingredients that taste amazing! Recommend people check this place out!

Someone else booked this venue and I was a little trepidatious given some of the reviews. I'm glad I ignored the reviews as it was first rate. Everyone in our group of 5 thought their meal was great. We had plenty of service and attention. The meals were excellent value for money and generous in portion size. The wine and beer selection, while fairly limited in range, was good value. Location and ambiance were great and it wasn't noisy like a lot of cafes, so the acoustics were good. A number of reviewers complained about how long they waited to get the staffs' attention after arrivng. We had no problems at all. Two things may have worked in our favour. First, we had a booking, so we had staff attention immediately on arrival when they showed us to our table. Second, I didn't realise it wasn't BYO and I took a bottle of wine. There's no chance you'll be left alone for 10 minutes after arriving if you walk into a fully licensed venue with a bottle of wine. Someone will always be there in a flash to let you know they're licensed and to stop you helping yourself from your own bottle :-)
Same rustic venue for years. I love the coffee here and they do some very good vego foods if that’s your thing. Often busy when I come here but I’m happy to take my time and watch the interesting characters decend.
One of Northern Melbourne original cafes. Always s pleasure. Nice menu, though a bit dated. It feels, tastes and looks old school cafe, and it is. But that’s also part of charm. A great and easy meet on the corner cafe. You can’t miss it.
Sunday brunch was excellent. Portion sizes are very large so make sure you are hungry. We had a BLT and the Linguine Pescatore , both of which were very good.

I have to thank Tin Pot cafe for still going strong for so many years. This place helped me begin my obsession with Genovese coffee when I first came to Melbourne in the very early naughties. I came back recently to see what had changed. The cafe itself has had a facelift with newer brighter artwork. It's furniture isn't as eclectic and run down as I recall but still has that retro feel to the place. The menu was different but still maintained a strong vegetarian focus that I remember brought us in here in the past. I seem to recall the brown mushroom breakfast was a hit but today went for the three bees... beef, bacon and beetroot all on sourdough bun. This burger was good but a little tricky to eat. Lots of liquid. The accompanying potatoes and aioli worked a treat. My coffee tastes have mellowed to the latte in recent years but tried my old long macchiato here and am glad to say they are still producing a great genovese coffee.
There was a reasonable wait for food but I wasn't in a rush and I remember this being a problem many moons ago during busy times so not a lot has changed on that front either.
Nice little cafe. Plenty of space inside. Stopped for a chat with a good friend. Had a Zinger, a mix of various juices and whatnot. It was lovely. Service was efficient and pleasant. I'm looking for a longer drop and food in future.
Brilliant for watching Rotherham United matches. Really enjoyed their 4-0 defeat to Barnsley. The best place for exclusive coverage of Rotherham United. I would recommend to all.
Best milkshakes in the area. Mushrooms on toast are great. My safe choice for a good breakfast. Been going here for years and it's pretty consistent. Good staff, big clean tables and tasty food.
We enjoyed our meals here. It is a nice place in a good location. Food was good we had the omelet and bacon bagel. The service was lacking a bit and meals did take 40 minutes but they were a little busy. Minor improvements could be made to bring it up to 5 stars.
Been here a few times and the food always hits the spot! A great range of classic menu items, that is a palette cleanser from all of the funky menu items that melbourne cafes are now producing!

Delicious food and friendly staff. I had the takeaway bruschetta and the chilli in it made it that extra special :) very large space for gatherings.

My favourite cafe in an area of good cafes. Very good coffee, good cafe level food, especially the salads and extremely nice staff. Been coming here almost every day since January for coffee or lunch.
I get coffee here a lot, and it's always great! Good price too - $3.50 for a strong latte. Food is good too although only had a couple things - gluten free pancakes are probably my favourite. Staff are nice and attentive and the fit-out is really cute, lots of mismatched furniture. It's cosy and comfortable just like a friends lounge room!

We're going to be back! Warm and welcoming staff and great warm atmosphere with the fireplace on. Add to that it has good healthy options for our 6 year old and you've got me half way there already. We had a lovely brekky with quinoa porridge, poached eggs, bacon, tomato on toast and blue berry buckwheat pancakes with maple syrup and a very yummy orange zest thick yoghurt with pistachios. Add to that 2 fantastic flat white coffees and to me it was a fabulous Sunday morning start. Quinoa had a lovely texture and great little winter flavour additions. It wasn't overly sweet, I added a little sugar, but that is personal preference I guess. Pancakes were amazing and poached egg as it should be. The menu looks very inviting without being posh and fancy but flavours that work well together in a very good variation in breakfast options. Not too many eggs in all sorts of way shall we say, but porridges, various styles of pancakes for GF as well, all with interesting additions and all in a good amount too. I didn't feel it was too much or not enough. It was spot on!

Coffee here is also great! The kids loved their hot chocolates which were massive! In fact I’d say this place is kid friendly! The staff are excellent and accommodating.

Really like this cafe! Lovely layout and an always reliable atmosphere. The kitchen always delivers quality food. The coffee is a nice standard as well, which keeps me coming back. That, and the lovely welcoming staff, particulary the brilliant Italian with the big hair. Try this place out!

Absolutely love tin pot. Great service and awesome food. Personal fave is the lamb salad with flat bread and yoghurt. Soooo yum! Come here all the time.
This place is lovely. We (4 of us) had breakfast there on a Monday morning. Poach special (vegetarian) was delicious, as was the muesli and the french toast. One of us asked to have the scrambled eggs on the plate, not the toast (so the toast doesn't go soft) and they did so but they buttered the toast so it was soft anyway. Maybe next time we'll ask for butter on the side too :) Will return.

Great cafe. Lot's of competition around (>10 w/in a five minute walk), so it takes a lot in this area to be considered good. Coffee is always delicious, staff is friendly and attentive. It always seems to be busy but still manages to maintain a calm atmosphere. Most of the customers seem to be regulars
Ordered the stewed fruit twice. The first time it was to die for. Perfectly poached pear on top, muesli spiced with cinnamon and ginger, a great consistency with the yogurt and milk on the side. It was worth every bit of the $10 or so dollars I paid for it. Unfortunately, I came in a second time and the fruit was different. It had smaller portions and was not spiced the same way. The 2nd was average, especially after my expectations were as such. Therefore inconsistency would be my only complaint.
Overall a splendid atmosphere and great coffee. plus they have free wifi.

Best Dinner. Had dinner here with friends last Friday.
I had steak which was fantastic , finished off with crispy prosciutto.
My friend had the seafood linguini , just perfect, warm fire nice music staff were great.
But what shocked me was the price , so incredibly reasonable .

Courteous service. I visited Tin Pot again after a while as I had some business in the area and decided to sit there for lunch and a couple of hours on the laptop. Very work-friendly place, there was quite a few ppl working away - lovely mix of mums with babies, laptoppers and groups. I had the Asian claypot - it was flavoursome but the cappuccino was great - hot and thick with a chocolate coat. Will be back! Wait staff were friendly without being in my face. Perfect.
Good Food, Great Value. They seem to have something for everyone - from the vegan claypot to the duck risotto. Their prices are really reasonable. Wifi comes in handy.

Loving the environment. I was there today with my girlfriends,simply love the dinner and nice assist from the waitstaff,coffee always superb and the lamb dish is my favourite. We also shared the seafood linguine,potato gnocchi.

As a regular I am always made happy by the friendly staff who remember faces and usual orders. Food is superb at all times of day and coffee is consistently great. I've never had a bad meal in the numerous times I've been here.

Ate there last night with a group of 8. No problems with service which was friendly and efficient. I had the seafood linguine (no linguine, but spaghetti instead).Delicious!. One problem was that a few things on the menu weren't available. Prices were reasonable and great ambience. Very convenient to public transport as tram stop is right out the front. We all agreed we would go back.
The food and coffee were good but the rude staff gave this place a bad vibe. We ordered 2 baguettes which took over half an hour to come out so probibly wouldn't come here again

The space is beautiful, open, warm, inviting, has beautiful light and, at night, glows adding charm to the upper north-side end of St Georges road.
Other than the beautiful decor, eclectic mix of chairs, tables lampshades and pictures hanging from the walls and the they are lovely staff on the floor, make great cups of coffee and quaint little pots of tea, and have a very agreeable breakfast and all-day menu. Love 'Brad's bagel' with beetroot and the all-day brunch'. Hope I got that right.

"good breakfast, good value" Tin Pot is great for breakfast/brunch with the kids. The menu is fairly extensive so there is something for everyone. Their porridge is fabulous and I really love the smoky beans breakfast. It is kid friendly in that there are high chairs and lots of space for prams. No change table though. The coffee is not great but not terrible either. I think it's very reasonably priced also which is important when on a budget! Oh, and their milkshakes are super!!

This is a terrific cafe near me - we enjoyed eggs benedict and a great selection of couches and tables for informal dining. We had the eggs benedict for breakfast which was up there with the best brunch I’ve had. A lovely relaxing victorian hipster feel with great antique style artwork, wing back chairs and comfortable velvet lounges, perfect for reading the paper on a rainy day, with a crackling open fireplace. Large selection of fresh pastries, focaccia, brioche and cakes coffee options and leaf teas in vintage pots, the soy chai was delicious. Doubles as a wine bar with decent cocktails, prosecco and wine options. Well done 👍

Six of us hungry breakfasters dropped in at 10.30 am on a Saturday and we were immediately able to get comfortable seating at the large communal table!
Friendly service with coffees coming out quickly. There is a regular breakfast menu and a weekend breakfast menu.. lots to choose from!
Food quality was good and the place is fairly spacious and not too noisy.
