Review Super Tasty Rooster - North Fitzroy

Has there been a change of owners? Super Tasty Rooster used to always be consistent and fresh with good ingredients… this order was disappointing, the chicken was super dry, the tomato and cucumber in the salad where old and bruised, the mayonnaise in the coleslaw was super processed… the chips were great but that’s about it. Sucks

I have tried thousands of HSP styles but their atomic bomb surprised me a lot! I was enjoying every second of eating it. Thanks to their kind staff and super tasty bomb! Love it

Finally got to try this local favourite. Ordered off Uber Eats, definitely not Super Tasty. Warm salad, cold chips, refried schnitzel that's probably been sitting out a few hours. :(

It certainly was super tasty. I was really impressed and will be back for more. The gravy was delicious, and the seasoning on the chicken and chips were really nice.

Still great chicken and chips. But even in the new building the heat the workers are standing in! Super heated workers. On that note they still very attentive and friendly.

First time I've ever been disappointed by Super Tasty. Chicken schnitzel way overcooked, chips undercooked. Hardly any mayo on roll. Certainly not worth exorbitant Uber cost. 😪

Really very super tasty. The contrast with roast chicken from across the road at Piedmontes is stark - the Piedmonte's chicken is scrawny and bland in comparison. The chips are also super tasty, and there is a reasonably extensive (for a place of this type) salad bar.

I ordered atomic bomb, heaps of chicken and chips and other stuff. Very cheap and tasty, nice and polite staff as well

Great chips, some of the best in the area. If you're going to get chips to share, make sure to ask for the chips in a white box, much better.

Amazing variety of food, drinks, and even dessert! Not just an average chicken shop. Very friendly service, family owned and run, at great prices! Would return for sure! I recommend getting the chicken burgers- standout menu item.

Beautiful Chicken and Chips. More people will definitely be coming here since the famous Chickens on Queen's has been sold off to "Cookshop Rotisserie". Super tasty Rooster and Chickens on Queen's were always the two best places for Chicken and Chips but now it seems this joint shall take the reigns!

Most epic chicken shop, that crispy chicken is way better than that place KFC. The staff are super friendly and the food is simply delicious.

The name of this place says it all (almost). Not only is the chook super tasty, the sides are also just as worthy of a mention! If you're looking for a decent chicken feed this is a cock-a-doodle-do!

Cheap, tasty chicken and potatoes! The gravy is also pretty good - make sure you order a generous size cause it's addictive. Don't really rate the sides though. The cooked veges and potato bake weren't worth the stomach space.

Peter Angri. Tried the $ 6 special chicken/chips. No gravy added. When I asked for some gravy was told it would be 80c extra. Got the chicken home and somehow all the stuffing/seasoning had gone missing. Totally dry tasteless chicken No flavour at all. Most disappointing meal. Why put on cheap specials then skimp on the extra bits that make the meal. There are better chicken shops than this around.

Best chicken shop in town!. I have been a regular customer at this little chicken shop for about 4 years now. Chickens are succulent, chips super crunchy and salads are always fresh. The ladies who run the shop are some of the loveliest people you will ever come across. Always a pleasure!

Excellent traditional chicken shop banging out succulent chickens, great chicken burgers and glorious chicken salt chips. Big fan! All at reasonable prices. Monday and Tuesday $6 1/4chicken and chips. Service is good by the two ladies who know how to cook good chicken, chip servings are generous, I'll be back for sure

Great food, weekend service is evil!. Go during the week, lady who works on Sunday is extremely unfriendly and unaccommodating. What a waste of awesome chicken and chips!

A mixed bag.. Super Tasty Rooster is not a place that could be accused of false advertising. It will give you just that - a super tasty rooster, but that's about it. <br/><br/>Don't bother with the superfluous peripheries, like chips or vegies - I'm sorry, but you will be disappointed - but do go down and grab yourself a chook. A whole chook. Great for dinner and great for the few days after with chicken sandwiches, salads, and maybe even a broth from the leftovers if you're feeling... game.

Finally went here after reading lots of good reviews. Was rather disappointed. Chips were crap, all rubbery and Orange. Chicken 'burger' was average, is actually a roll, and only had mayo & lettuce, not even 1 slice of tomato. Also a bit expensive, especially 'combos', although chip servings are large. Won't be going back.

Best chicken burgers in town. My husband will drive to buy a chicken burger from super tasty rooster at any time of the day whenever he feels like one. And I think you know it's a good burger when you dont need chips. Don't ever hesitate dropping in to try one, you'll be hooked

Hot Chips!!!!!. OH my! best chips in Melbourne, hands down. Also make a killer chicken stock which I've been using all winter in soups. Good value, great staff!

Super Friendly and Yum!. The service here was amazing, such friendly and lovely people. I went on a tues and they have quarter chicken and chips for I think was about $5.20... yep that could feed 2 you get heaps of chips. Nice looking salads too... but the service really made it stand out :)

Berk!. Great chips at this place. The chicken is pretty damn good too and the serving size is very generous. A quarter chicken and chips is usually enough for two. Salads are ok, standard types, coleslaw, potato salad, greek, pasta salad etc. They also sell La Ionica chicken to cook at home.

Once our food was ready, everything was bundled into a Styrofoam container and bagged for our convenience We dashed back to the car to get home quickly but was intercepted by the shit peak hour traffic on St Georges Road. Faaaaaaark…. car smelt like chicken but traffic wasn’t moving.<br/><br/>We finally got home, dumped everything that wasn’t food by the door and snapped open our dinner. Everything still looked and smelt the part, but the ride home removed the crisp from the chips and the juicy from the goosey… I mean chicken. They still tasted good, but not ‘fresh’ good.
