The owner is v hospitable. Really great service and he's really patient even though we came in at 8pm. The food is done well! The pumpkin cake is a must try. Scallops yum yum! Crabsticks are good too! For the fish, if you can, do get a higher grade fish!

Best fish n chips I've found Northside. Pumpkin cakes and the fish burger are personal favourites. Lovely staff, great value, clean and tidy premises.

Best fish and chips in Melbourne, hands down. It's reasonably priced, the fish is delicious and there's a great range of choices. The fish burger is one of the best I've ever had, and the pumpkin cake (potato cake with pumpkin) is incredible too.

Amazing seafood basket. Batter was crisp and not oily at all. Drove 3 mins to Edinburgh Gardens to eat it and when we got to the park everything was still nice and crunchy - nothing soggy at all. Will definitely visit again

Walked in on closing time, the owner definitely could have turned us away but happily cooked what was comfortably the best fish and chips I've had in at least 5 years. Would've rated a 6 out of 5 if I could have!

I had pumpkin cakes today and they were the most crunchiess. The oil was clean so there weren't any wierd smells.<br/>The place is spotless.<br/>Look forward to coming back and trying The Gourmet With Lot Burger.

I've ordered over the phone the last two times. I really can't complain - food was well cooked and tasted exactly as you would expect. Nothing to rave about, but certainly reliable for a quick bite on a Friday night. I like going in there and seeing just how clean everything is - major plus in my books for a local which I know can get busy.

Since the ownership changed the quality here has gone to shit. Cheap everything. Cheaper chips that come in big frozen garbage bags, cheap fish. Owners, your buiness will go into the bin if you dont pick up the QUALITY! Your in the wrong area to put out this cheap sh#t. Maybee look at cut fresh chips, fresh high quality fush, not rubbish from cheap suppliers and people will start to come again. Take thiss as an insult, or take it as advise. I wouldnt put your rubbish in my mouth.

I ordered over the phone, the flake was over cooked and tasted too crunchy and there was also a delay with the food. The quality is very average.

Don't get the dim sims ever. Like ever. Never. They were the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth.

Won't be trading on reputation much longer!. After almost 5 years as customers, we won't be going back. We gave given the new owners multiple second chances but food quality has slid and service is appalling. Fancy blaming customers for an order stuff-up and expecting them to accept a steak sandwich that's gone cold while the rest of the order is cooked.

New owners! Asked for breadcrumbs and got battered. Girl at counter was rude and stressed when I asked why? Avoid! Never again!

Consistently good. The fish and chips are great here, good batter not too thick, and the oil is always fresh - not that horrible rancid aftertaste that you can get at crap places. Nice and friendly staff and the shop is always clean.

Super tasty grilled flake. Not greasy like other we've had. Chips could've done with a little more salt, but can always add that on. Will definitely be back!
