Review Nicholson St Baker - North Fitzroy

Alex Koskiniotis
Best wholemeal sourdough in town. Spinach and ricotta pie not the best I’ve had though.

Hard cakes, I get the feeling they sit in the display for a while. Would not recommend the cakes. Waste of money for these, unfortunately I bought 8 for the office and they were not eaten. Priced high! Average coffee. Delicious bread rolls that are always fresh and sell out fast!

Great French style bakery. The coffee is average but their baked goods is amazing.

What an awesome place!!! Loved their honesty and the bread... wow!!! I took a loaf, no, two loaves home. Whilst I was there, I had a pie. It’s the ONLY time I’ve eaten a pie and didn’t need to add sauce. - I think that says something!!!

I come for the bread I stay for the service!
the bread here is amazing and different varieties, I really like the walnut rye. and the service is great as well, the person who served me was very informative and attentive, plus I liked their green hair.

Lamb pies, sausage rolls and blueberry muffins are top notch. Limey makes a great coffee, and even better conversation. Veggie pizza is seriously underrated, hidden gem on their menu

Rude staff. Returned an incorrect order and was so poorly treated I will never return. I was a regular customer previously but will happily tell everyone about my bad experience.

About a month ago I arrived at this spot desperately seeking a chocolate croissant for the boss before work, Iit was about an hour before they opened but they sold it to me anyway - was a girl with a trendy hair colour - i'll love this place forever

Come here sometimes for a pie good cheap feed. Coffee is also good, better than a lot of cafes. Simple bakery and doesn't try and be too hip. Nice bakery.

Small little bakery on Nicholson street. Love their quiches and pies, wide selection and always yummy! Add on a side salad for just a dollar.

My favourite local bakery! The croissants are deliciously buttery and fresh, the pies are scrumptious, the desserts are super tasty.

No complaints at all!

I love this no fuss little bakery!

The croissants are the best in the area and the quality is very consistant -
maybe because it's just a small place that makes small batches (they often sell out).

House made jams are amazing also, and a they do a great espresso - you actually get a full shot, which isn't always the case in a lot of cafes these days!

This is a great bakery. Everything is good quality. I just had a good coffee and a great escargot, crispy on the outside, soft in the middle. I've been buying their sourdough whole meal bread for a year or so and it's delicious and very reasonably priced compared to other quality bakeries. Check it out.

Generally good. I like the retro selection of cakes but pies are often dried out even early in the day. Staff could learn some manners and not make customers feel like they are doing them a favour in serving them. There are 4 other decent bakeries within 100 meters that have good product and good customer service.

Best in area. The savouries at this place are delicious, and inexpensive. Definitely the best place in the area for a lunchtime snack. They sell a range of pies, tartlets, quiches and sandwiches. The bacon and egg tartlet is a winner.

The cakes can be hit or miss at times. I think some sit there just a bit too long. Everything in the counter seems to be good though so perhaps just avoid stuff from the window display (catches the sun).

I'm very fussy with my cakes so perhaps a bit harsh...

Lovely coffee but I must say the croissants are quite salty? I've been back now a few times only to be disapointed.. quite sad as its so close to the tramstop
Lekker
Good range of pastries and breads including bagettes and croissants and good coffee
