Great coffee and service. Bad news is that it is going to close permanently.

ONE OF THE BETTER OPTIONS FOR FOOD ON QUEENS PARADE This is probably the trendiest cafe on the Queens Parade strip. Good coffee and quite a big selection of food. Lots of indoor seating. Staff friendly

Always friendly staff, great selection of food and great coffee. A reasonably quiet spot off the busy main shopping area and great for groups of friends to have lunch together.

Excellent. Food, coffee, service unequaled in Clifton Hill. Wide selection of meals, plus wine etc., if you need it. Indoors or outdoors. Ideal for a meal or just a cup of their excellent coffee.

Friendly staff, good coffee. What more do I want? Oh yes, fast service - tick! Tasty sandwich - tick! Yummy cakes - tick! And a very big tick for the times I drop into my outside chair and hardly have time to put my bag on the ground before a smiling face pops out the door "Coffee?" Yes, thanks. Yes. Thanks

Was sitting outside for 10 minutes with my dog, no service, popped me head in the door to see if I could see someone to serve me. No no-one there, so I left to see what other cafes would actually serve me. Thought better of it as I liked this place, and I'm a creature of habit. Came back to a different seat, so hopefully they would see me this time, was there for a couple of minutes, still no service. So I called them on the phone to ask them to come out to serve me (could not go fully inside due to having the dog with me). They seemed quite confused by that, I had to repeat my request three times. Waitress came out, and she made excuses, at that point I lost my patience, cracked it and left. Went to Cafe Clifton two doors down where there was immediate friendly table service. The owner of Cafe Q followed me down the street and abused me outside Cafe Clifton "If you were a gentleman you'd come in and ask..." (I did try !) "You were only there for a couple of minutes" (true enough .... the second time....). "I don't need you, don't come back." Ok..... more than happy to comply with your request sir. My wife and I were quite the regulars here, but now I'm lost forever, it's a shame as I enjoyed the food and it was pretty e good value. Sadly they seemed to have lost focus on what the most important aspect of a retail business is.....(some points for the food actually being quite good value.). BTW the coffee at Cafe Clifton a couple of doors down was nicer, just saying.

I went there on New Year's Day because nothing else was open. BIG mistake! I ordered Eggs Benedict and a large coffee. The coffee tasted like dirty dish water and the Eggs Benedict was a very over-toasted muffin, poached hard eggs, half a pig (Horrible ham!) and hollandaise that came out of a squirt bottle. Everything was tasteless -and cheap- and I wouldn't go back there again if every other coffee shop in Melbourne was closed.

this place is so bad would not even feed my dogs with the food they give you and one guy that works there stinks and i don't rate it at all.

Very friendly and accommodating staff! Delicious cake & dessert range... Unfortunately the salad bar is just not par, and would easily be improved with better quality produce and clearly displayed prices for individual items.

If you are in the North Fitzroy area you must go to Q Cafe. They have great food and the staff are very courteous and attentive. One of my favourite places to eat.

Three fails. The first time I went there, I got a roast meat roll with gravy, it was mostly gristle and I couldn't eat it. The second time I got an antipasto sandwich in which they didn't use pitiless olives and I nearly broke a tooth eating it. Third time..... There won't be a third time.

Salad was better than the main. A mate who spends a lot of time reckons this is the best cafe on this side of Queen’s Parade in Clifton Hill. After meeting him for lunch here the other day, I’m inclined to agree. Q has an assortment of lunchtime options that range from bain marie hot dishes to over-stuffed sandwiches to a lot of home-baked goods in the sausage roll/pie range. I’ll always try a Cornish pasty if it’s made in-house. Q had a lunch deal where a pasty (normally $5) could be had with salad for $8. The salad was better than the pasty. The latter had a good crispy/flaky crust, but the filling was this gray meat paste with almost no taste. At least Q puts out bottles of tomato sauce instead of charging 30¢ for one of those tiny squeeze packets. The extra $3 got me some green salad, plus capsicum-heavy Greek salad, along with generous scoops of potato and macaroni salads. Healthy and filling!

Q offers a lime milkshake, which I haven’t seen elsewhere, so I ordered that. It was foamy and well-made, filling a one-pint beer glass. Lovely shade of green. But I can see why I can’t see many other places with lime shakes. Citrus, especially tart types like lime, just doesn’t go well with milk. Bless Q’s heart for trying, but I’d try a different flavour if you’re in here.
